It was a rainy day so decided to go have PHO, headed to 123 Pho on 3rd st., which is near the downtown area my son drove we parked in the parking garage around the corner and 123 PHO was right on the corner from the parking garage. There weren't very many people sitting in the dining area when we walked in. We were waited on immediately at the walk up counter, we ordered the appetizer with 3 little buns, all pork, I ordered the PHO with chicken, tofu & mushrooms, beef/chicken broth, you're allowed three proteins I only got two & thin noodles. My son ordered the beef PHO. My sons PHO came first, and A few minutes later mine came and then she asked us if there was anything else she could get us and we told her we had appetizer as well and she was the one who took my order. A couple minutes later the appetizer came out as well everything looked delicious. For me The PHO could've been a little bit hotter, it was not cold, but not real hot...for a broth soup. It was very good. Not salty, good flavor couple big pieces of Tofu in it, I did have a hard time finding chicken. The appetizer with pork, buns are so delicious.. the buns were such a unique texture lite airy, yet squishy...so good. I had to ask for to go containers for our PHO such a large bowl, good for later....want to go back and try the lemon garlic chicken noodle dish and get the appetizers squishy buns again in chicken. I read about this place as a recommended spot to try I think it was online in the long beach news back in December it was a nice article and write up on the family business. read more

Finally a clean and new Pho place that tastes great and has rad options!! Beef, Chicken or Vegetable broth, a wide range of proteins and a couple noodle options make this place a real winner. Great broth, balance seasonings and not to greasy. Counter service when you order, beers on tap, other options include vermicelli bowls, spring rolls and some stir-fry options. Thai tea with boba was delicious. Plenty of seating, and food came out fast. I opted out of the pho because it looked MASSIVE and I knew I wouldn't finish it. Popcorn chicken was good and crispy, with a tasty sauce on the side. Highly recommend! read more

One of my favorite pho places in Long Beach. I love how the package the food separately for take out, I frequently order on cary out apps like postmates and the food always travels well. I came on Monday and I had that best experience with pho. These two girls told me their name was Aira and Victoria and they gave me the best customer satisfaction. They were very attentive to me and my friends. The food was delicious and the environment surrounding it was amazing. I got rare steak pho and it was the best pho I've tried since Vietnam. I thought you couldn't go wrong with Pho but this place tasted like mall food. My Garlic noodles and shrimp were over cooked. They said the wings were not spicy and were sweet. Not only were they spicy they were dry, overcooked and not tasty. I also got the mojito and it tasted like mint soda pop. No good at all. The table out doors was broken and we were not offered a new table or a solution even though the staff was fully aware. Lastly I was not feeling the owners demeanor and how he addressed one of the employees. Overall I would not return or recommend. read more

Modern Vietnamese place. Food is outstanding. Loved my chicken banh mi. Flavorful, a good amount of veggies, big pieces of real chicken. Yum! Came here cuz I was in need of Pho and this place hit he spot! Great environment and space, cool and comfortable chairs and tables and a sleek and comfortable place in general. And the food is great. I got pho and they let ou choose THREE different proteins for it! So I got chicken, brisket and Shrimp ($1 more) and it was great. Definitely will come here again for pho. We got the beef and veggie pho's Togo and it's one of our favorite meals when you're not feeling great or it's chilly outside! Many pho places make it difficult to mix the broth and noodles, but not 123 Pho. The way their packaging is makes it so easy to simply dump the noodles into the broth with no worry of it overflowing the bowl. It was so fresh and flavorful and was gonna very quick! Highly recommend 123 Pho and we look forward to dining/ ordering takeout with them again. read more

just left. 2 staff chatting . was at the counter - its amazing how owner - thanh scrutinizes and clocks- his would be customers VIA SECURITY CAM. still does not change these facts: and as you claim as " EXCELLENT SEVICE" 1 no eye contact, no acknowledgement from staff when i was at the counter 2 finally got an eye contact on the way out - from staff. still no acknowledgement. ( you just may want to FOCUS THE SECURITY CAM as well to the staff ) you literally just lost $8- yes bolsa chica oc, only charges $5.25 for a all inclusive meat/ veggie combinations ( though staff barely speak english) they speak " business" $10.50 for 123's starter tiny soup ( costs $2 to make) supplemented by a snob staff. I never would have expected the pho to be so good at this place. I'm used to the best pho coming from little hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurants, but 123 has become my favorite pho spot in the LA area! The Shaken beef is also quite good with the garlic noodles, that was a good recommendation from Yelp. Really, we haven't had a bad dish here thus far, and looking forward to trying more things on the menu, but that pho is really hard to pass up! read more

Service is good and seems clean. I'm hesitant on the fifth star as I prefer more authentic food in a non-fusion restaurant (and more meat in my soup), but it's long beach downtown, so what can you do. Good food, good service, my only Vietnamese restaurant recommendation in the area. Come in without hesitation, especially if trying for the first time! read more

This is not your traditional Vietnamese pho place. The menu is very limited. This app lace reminds me of a a pick up stix setup. The food is good for what it is especially if you're hungry. The service has it kinks since it's a new place. read more

This place is a more modern pho spot! Not your traditional pho restaurant. That's cool since it's in downtown Long Beach. You order the food first then grab a number and they bring it to your table. I ordered the beef broth with rare flank and brisket and my friend ordered the beef broth with chicken and brisket. Unfortunately my friend didn't get her chicken. When she told the waitress my friend was super sweet and said it was okay. The waitress seemed like she didn't know what to do and said okay. Me thinking, she should bring the chicken on the side but she didn't. This particular waitress was not friendly at all and she wasn't apologetic for the chicken not coming out. However the broth was pretty decent. I enjoyed my meal and so did my friend. I only knocked down a star due to the waitress. It's understandable since it was lunch hour, however, you should be more friendly serving people who are completely understandable about not bringing out something we ordered. read more

We ordered pho with meatball, brisket and rare flank steak and the shaken beef with garlic noodles from door dash and OMG...IT WAS FIRE! Every place should package their to go pho like this place does. The pho was the best we have found in long Beach, and the shaken beef (I got it wok'd not grilled) was so freaking good. Super tender beef and delicious noodles. Well with what we paid for it. We will totally be ordering from here again. read more

Delicious food! We tried the vermicelli rolls with tofu and the summer rolls with tofu as well as the Vegetarian stir fry and loved it all, everything was very fresh and delicious. The service was just okay as we seemed to have a rude cashier/server but will definitely return. read more

In 2015 Thanh Ninh left his HR position with corporate restaurants in order to pursue a larger dream: to own his own restaurant. For two years, he worked alongside his Aunt in her restaurants mastering multi-generational family recipes. On October 22, 2017 Thanh opened 123 Pho in downtown Long Beach offering an approachable style to classic Vietnamese dishes.

This place is not in OC but it's a decent option for out here. The broth is halfway decent and has a good aroma. But my criticisms all start with too. Broth is too sweet. Meat is sliced too thin. Tendon too soft. Noodles too soft. Noodle and meat portions too small. This can all be fixed to make it quite decent. For everyone asking, there isn't a pho restaurant that I know of that doesn't use MSG. It's all in the portions, if you put lot of MSG you will attract the salty crowds and there are a lot of ppl that eat like that. Because there is so much sweetness in the broth there is also a lot of salt which leads to eating fatigue. If the sweetness is cut down you can cut down the salt. The noodles are cheap, there should be more and they should be cooked for a shorter time. The brisket meat is sliced so thin that you can barely taste it and it has no texture it just breaks apart, the tai meat is sliced just fine, it cooks nicely in in the broth. Tendon needs to be cooked until the right texture, the tendon here is so overcooked that it also falls apart. If they cooked the tendon then refrigerated it and reheated it the result would be better. Also would be nice to see ngo gai sawtooth cilantro in the herbs. At least this place is not hopelessly bad like Saigon Dish or Pho Show. read more

A Heartfelt Thank You to Karol and 123 Pho A few days ago, I had a tough day for me due to personal reasons, and I was feeling really down. But I want to express my deepest gratitude for the kindness and generosity of someone who works here. I decided to get a pho to warm myself up on a cold day. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted at the register by a lovely young woman with a beautiful smile--Karol. She was so kind, and before even taking my order, she asked me how I was doing. I told her I wasn't feeling great, and she responded with the sweetest words. She reassured me that everything would be okay and then asked if she could give me a hug. That moment truly meant the world to me because I really needed it. It was such a genuine and heartfelt gesture. Taste was ok. Everything else, not so much. Customer service training needed. Everybody just seems so rushed and chaotic. 30 seconds walking into the door, "are you guys ready to order?" Dang, this isn't the DMV.. like who's next in line? lol ..No smile, no hi, how are you, nothing. I got the pho, hubby got the beef stew. Pho was good except all the noodles were clumped to together, like they blanched the noodles and let it sit for a while before adding the broth and goodies. Husband was really disappointed in the beef soup/stew. Literally, 3 cuts of carrots, some onions, and maybe 4 ounces of beef cut to 3 cubes. $20 for 3 chunks of beef and broth, no no no. The bun bao was really delicious!!! they just weren't traditional steamed buns per se, more like bun bao tacos. The interior of this place was nice. The service was good. The way it's setup is like Golden Deli in Temple City. Its a fast casual take on Vietnamese food. You order first and they bring it out. I ordered Pho with Rare Flank on the side and Brisket. The food came out pretty fast. The broth was really fragrant but it was packed with a lot of MSG and sodium. The broth tasted good but that's because of all that MSG. The portion was very skimpy. They only gave a couple slices of meet and a small handful of noodles. I was expecting a bigger portion since it's priced really high at almost $10 a bowl. I was still hungry after. But I have to say, this restaurant has the best pho in Long Beach but not the best in Los Angeles or San Gabriel Valley. Wish I could rate 1/4* or less Just left this place. I was treated so horribly I'll never step foot in there again. I was there to pick up a postmates order for delivery. Standing inside with a fellow doordash driver and the 123 Pho cashier walks around us twice! Then a white gentleman from uber eats walks in asks for his order gets order handed to him and leaves, i immediately asked for the manager no one answered so I yelled for the manager then I was told I'm being disrespectful and asked to leave. Wait how am I the bad guy? How am I being disrespectful. I was not 1 of 3 employees blatantly ignoring "colored" guests. I did not walk around guests while ignoring them but I was disrespectful! We stopped by 123 Pho about an hour before closing, and wow, what a great experience! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, even though it was near the end of their shift. You could tell they genuinely cared about good service. I ordered the brisket pho and garlic noodles, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The brisket was tender and flavorful, and the broth had that perfect depth you hope for in pho. The garlic noodles were packed with flavor and had just the right amount of bite. Definitely comfort food done right! The restaurant itself was very clean and had a relaxed, inviting vibe. I really appreciated how well-kept everything was, even late in the evening. I don't normally eat Americanized pho, but when I do....it's at 123 Pho. This place is AMAZING!!!! I've always gravitated towards authentic pho and because fusion restaurants usually don't get the soup right, or it's too bland. But everything here, from the food to the egg rolls were mesmerizing. The service is also TOP NOTCH! The broth is really flavorful and noodles are a great consistency. The egg rolls we ordered were full of meat and came with a tasty dipping sauce. I got to be honest, before coming to 123 Pho I really did not like Pho, or Vietnamese food in general. HOWEVER, after eating here, I have a new found love for Vietnamese food. I tried their Chicken Bao Buns, Pork Banh Mi and Brisket Pho. OMG all so good. The brisket literally melted in my mouth in the best way possible.
