Small cafe in the 301 Shoreline Square building. The location is between the Westin and the office building. The foods is always decently good here. The food is made to order so it's fresh. They have daily lunch specials (sometimes Korean inspired) and other foods such as soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, breakfast, etc. Food service is pretty quick which also depends on the crowd. You would never find this place strolling on Ocean or LB Blvd. It's basically located near LB Blvd in the courtyard between the Westin and Comerica Bank. Walk into the opening by the ATMs and you'll see it on the left side. It's a tiny Cafe with one little table inside and a few small tables outside but they have all the basics you would need: a basic coffee menu, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, a few salads, a cooler full of bottled beverages, and a small selection of snacks like chips and granola bars. They are only open during early business hours (M-f 7am-3pm) and when we came on a Monday morning there was only one lady working, taking orders, cooking them, packaging them, and ringing them up. You can imagine if even just a few people show up at the same time how backed up it would get. She manages somehow and we got our sandwiches after a few minutes. Seems like most of the foot traffic is from the workers at the bank, a few police officers getting their morning coffee, and probably people from the hotel. Worst customer service in the history of service! This tiny cafe serves breakfast and lunch and a decent little menu to choose from. First we weren't even greeted with a hello or a smile but a face of ugh another customer, why are you here I don't care look. So that's an immediate turn off. I was being hopeful that their menu would make up for it. Having never been here before, I asked a few questions and man, she might as well have told me to shut up and order. I can understand that this place will keep getting business because of their location but why should you treat customers like total garbage? read more

I work in the building next door and this spot is my go-to. Too bad she doesn't do the fried rice special anymore because that was the best chicken fried rice around. The burgers are made with love. Lots of pickles and mustard cooked into the patty! Perfect. Fries on point! Breakfast Sammy's are solid. Support local small businesses like this one that tries hard to provide good food for the local workers daily. read more

Located at the Courtyard of Shoreline Square next to the Westin Hotel, Cafe 301 offers an extensive menu ranging from breakfast (omelettes, burritos, pancakes, waffles) to lunch (deli sandwiches, paninis, salads, wraps, burgers, soups). I've tried their breakfast burrito and the 301 cheese steak sandwich and both were ok. The shoestring fries were good...very crispy! This place is kinda small so I'll suggest you call in your order. They have a few tables located outside (shaded) or you can sit at the tables by the Westin Hotel and get your tan on! =) read more

This place is perfect when you just want a basic lunch. No frills, no gatsropub type embellishments, just fresh food. Just be aware it's a tiny place that gets insanely crowded from 11:30-2:00. Call ahead or be prepared to wait, as everything is made to order. read more

I was driving around Long Beach a week ago, looking for a mid day meal after I picked my son up from school. This cafe looked promising, as they had his favorite (California roll) as well as sandwiches (which I was craving). So, I found this cool little cafe via Yelp and called to figure out exactly where it was located. The lady on the phone informed me it was behind the bank, so I parked and paid the meter. We walk around the corner and start browsing the menu, the woman asks us if it's good we are looking for food and I confirm. She tells me they have just closed at 3PM and are no longer serving food. I turned around and left, but could not believe I wasn't warned about their closing time as I had called 5 minutes earlier. I found the woman a bit rude. We ended up at the nearby Jersey Mike's. I won't be back to Cafe 301, I understand closing time is closing time, but with an open door and no warning via phone, I was quite appalled at the way I was turned away. read more

Located in between the Westin hotel and Comerica bank. No signage visible from the street and a little tough to locate, it is worth the extra effort. No indoor seating and very small, it is almost like they built the kitchen in a storeroom in the rear of the bank. I was in town for a conference and ate breakfast there three days in a row. The breakfast tacos were very good, bacon egg and cheese on a croissant was great and the healthy breakfast Sandwich was fantastic. All were cooked to order and served piping hot. The service was very fast and friendly and prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend them for anyone working or staying in the area. I wish that I lived closer! read more

The cafe is a bit hard to find. It's in between two buildings and I didn't see any signs that point to it so it took me some time to find it. As to the food itself (photo included), I ordered the healthy breakfast sandwich. The sandwich itself is really good, quite tasty but also really small for what you pay for. I looked at the other items which look to be just as tasty and looks to be more filling so I'd definitely be willing to give this place another try now that I know where it is. read more

I had just moved in across the street and was starving. Wandered over to this place, but it was closed. June Lee was inside and saw me looking through the door. Although she had closed nearly an hour prior, she let me in and made me the best egg salad sandwich I've ever had in my life. I'll be back! read more

I've ordered lunch from here several times, and the quality is extremely consistent. The ingredients have always been fresh, and the offerings are reasonably priced with filling portions. In addition to their main menu, they have daily specials which often include traditional Korean and Korean-inspired cuisine. I've had the bibimbap and the spicy chicken special, which were delicious. They currently do not offer sushi, which is a bummer. Hopefully, it will return soon. Cafe 301 is practicing standard COVID-19 safety procedures, so food safety is not a issue. read more

Nice courtyard outside to sit in. Good service but was not impressed with the taste of the coffee. Had an Americano and the taste was just not good quality. Reminded me of cheap diner coffee sitting on a burner for hours. read more

Gosh I guess I'm the exception here. I like the food here. Is it cheap eats? No. Is it the best in the area? Probably not. But what do I like about the joint? It's decent food. So far everything I order tasted great and plus they deliver. I think compared to the surrounding restaurants on Pine Street this place maybe is a 3 star but I think their service puts them a tad over 3 stars. Give it a try. What do I like? I love their paninis and I haven't had a sandwich I don't like here....Gotta get their fries! read more

This is a decent restaurant serving good food. The price is neither too high nor too low, so it's not a bane on your wallet. At least, not too much. They serve a variety of food, from sandwiches to tortillas and such. The service was nice. I recommend the burger combo if you're extremely hungry. They make their food at a reasonable pace if you're the on-the-go type of people. read more

For about 5 bucks each, I got two mean turkey breakfast burritos with everything. The line wasn't long and it took about 10 minutes to make them. Really excellent burritos and great customer service. They had other items I wish I could go back to order, but for a small place with a simple menu, I like it. Conveniently located next to the Westin and across from the Long Beach Convention Center. Café 301 is a small little Coffee shop that happens to serve a wide array of food. 301 is a really convenient place to pick up some quick breakfast or lunch if you work around the area. I usually just call in my order so that I don't have to wait in the line during the lunch rush. So far I have only gotten a chance to eat the breakfast burrito and the steak sandwich which are both pretty tasty. The portions are a little small but it's very close to my work and it's very convenient when you are short on time for lunch. read more

Everything feels clean, classy and thoughtfully put together. When you first arrive, seeing the line out the door can be a little intimidating. Usually at places like this, I feel like I have to fight for my life to find a table, but thankfully that wasn't the case here. The staff was very kind and asks how many are in your party and helps you get a table, which made everything much less stressful. They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. I'd still give them another chance in the future... after I get paid!

This is a unique concept for a cafe! They have a pretty good library of board games but a small food menu. Service was ok, food was nothing spectacular but I think the main focus here are the games. It's a great place to hangout with friends, play a few games and have a coffee and snack. I wouldn't come here just to eat though. The food can be pricey for what you're getting. Their veggie fries and dip is definitely not worth it. It's regular chips in stick form served in a soup sized bowl with chipotle dip on the side. Their sandwiches were ok and won't leave you hungry but not full either. But like I said, you come here to hangout with friends and play a few games, not for the food. read more

It's a shame you have to pay extra for cheese. IMO, an Italian sub should have both Provolone and Mozzarella cheese. Their sandwich comes with no cheese and is an extra charge. Bummer. Also, they have a variety of Italian-style sandwiches, but none of them have the classic salami, mortadella, and capicola combination which is the authentic combination from my experience. To top it off, the Italian Sub doesn't have red onion or black olives. Meh. There are more menu issues. In the end, there's nothing I find above average.
