Sunday brunch at the cider bistro. Flights were a delicious way to try three flavors before deciding on a pint. They can make a mimosa out of the cider as well. We all had the croque madame which is the monsieur with an egg on top. Hollandaise was excellent, only complaint is too much bread - maybe just make it with one slice served open face. The bread, ham/jambon, cheese, etc were all good quality and delicious. Option of breakfast potatoes or salad - I had the salad and it was huge. Very disappointing experience, except for the server who was so kind and sweet. When we arrived we were alerted to the fact that food service was going to be delayed but we were okay with waiting. We had a flight of cider and a couple sides of frites, both of which were just "okay". You can read other reviews about the lack of ketchup! The server checked in regularly and tried to keep us updated on the food. However, we sat for over an hour and a half. The restaurant was not even close to halfway full. We saw that a large order was sitting under the heat lamps for about 30 minutes and feared some of it belonged to our table. When the food did finally arrive it was almost inedible. My daughter's Hollandaise sauce had become hard as a rock and her once soft boiled egg was now a hard boiled egg. I ordered a salad that was drenched in a tasteless dressing. One person in our party had ordered a version of a fancy grilled cheese and it was soggy from sitting under the heat lamps. When the manager came up to ask if everything was "terrific", I just couldn't lie. It had been an almost two hour test of our patience. I shared with him how disappointed we were with each of our dishes (there were 6 of us) and instead of apologizing and trying to make it right, he made excuses. Just sad. I was in food service for a very long time and I don't respect a restaurant that doesn't fess up to their mistakes. Our bill was not adjusted whatsoever. 13 Brix offers so tasty ciders. Sadly, they all weren't available to try which was a bummer. But the two they had were spot on. I actually really liked the ciders be at this place. My husband and I got the flight which was perfect so we could try the different ciders. My favorite being the pear and the cherry. I thought the Apple/Cinnamon was underwhelming, the Blueberry and Lavender we're super hard to finish. The brewery look at the counter is a neat look. The facility however is why I give this place three stars. I would give it two stars, but the worker was super helpful and the business is promising. However, one bathroom in which you had to walk in the back by the kitchen, through the sink area I thought was a bit tacky for the retro feel and for a new facility of that size (maybe they aren't finished with the real bathrooms?). It says it's a Bistro yet they don't have a chef, servers, a menu, and oh... No food! Yet!!!!!!?????? However, no where outside or on the doors does it indicate this, so several people came in hoping for food and nothing. The facility is a nice size, well decorated, but no food. Sad to start building a reputation for a food and cider place and no food. They are looking for an authentic trained French Chef (very admirable), but for it's tiny town location it might be a while. I was disappointed there wasn't food, we stopped to have lunch, only having a flight and sitting in a nice empty brewery/restaurant. This is a new venture from a long time local winery (Varaison Vineyards). 13 Brix specializes in Varaison Vineyards' "Forbidden Fruit" hard ciders served on tap along with wines from the vineyard as well. They just opened and are not yet serving food. But that should happen within the month. Amazing brunch on Sunday . Their ciders are first class, especially loved the peach cider. Benedict waffle was stupendous. Blueberry French toast my wife had was very good also. Pleasantly surprised. Stumbled upon the Bistro looking for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Newly opened. Counter order White tablecloths. Super cute place! It's convenient to find and the staff was so friendly and welcoming! There is a nice patio as well, it isn't very big but it is comfortable and has nice shade. I didn't sit inside but there is ample room and is decorated very well. The gentleman who opened 13 Brix is understandably proud of his new digs and has set up a fantastic place. Onto the great stuff! Their ciders are the drier style and still have a nice fruity flavor that isn't overwhelming like some ciders. Luckily, it tastes NOTHING like Angry Orchard, so bottom line is their ciders taste crisp and clean. It has the taste of the actual refreshing fruit and of course locally grown! I highly recommend the pear and the peach cider is not to be missed as well. They are relatively new and don't offer food even though it is labeled as a bistro. However, it sounds like that is short-term as they are looking for a chef. Even though they were still going through the "opening phase" and permits etc. it was clean, inviting, and other than lack of food, it is a perfect stop to enjoy cider. I think it rivals any other cidery (sp?) in town and will hopefully only improve when they have everything settled in. Don't let the lack of food stop you from going!!! They do also sell their cider and I happily purchased a four pack of both peach and pear cider. Once I go back to try the food, I'll hopefully be giving it the 5th star! Best cider I've EVER had. "Just peachy" was my absolute favorite!!! Also liked the black Moscato wine - very unique. All local flavors, of course! This place is super under-the-radar (for now...). It's only been open for about three weeks; the owner is extremely nice and knowledgeable. Beautifully renovated old building. Cool, modern atmosphere. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I'm gonna bet this place will explode in popularity as soon as they start serving their French/Mediterranean menu ;) If you want to try any of their amazing brews, you will have to come out here... they don't distribute! Both the food and the cider was fantastic. Classic French fare - our savory crepes were definitely the highlight but everything was really good. Even the fruit served on the side (green apples, an obvious nod to the cider). These weren't just sliced tart green apples, they were lightly drizzled with a honey syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon. I've never been a big fan of green apples but this simple alteration made me a tart apple convert. read more

The food was good but the service was awful! We ordered food, 3 cups of coffee and cream. The young waitress came to our table and told us they were busy and it would take 15 minutes for our coffee. Twenty minutes later she brought our food, I asked for hot sauce and our coffee. Ten minutes later she came back with two cups of coffee and said they were out of hot sauce. I asked for the other cup of coffee, cream and sugar but she never came back. We finished our food and left. read more

Went in for a lunch date with my father who is a very picky eater and was very impressed with the menu! I had heard that they had the best French onion soup so that's what we had and the rumor was true. My father said it's the BEST he has ever had. I have to start out by saying that I have been to 13 Brix many times for the past couple of years. Mostly for their Sunday brunch which is amazing but their lunch menu is good too! Just a word of fair warning for anyone that likes their scrambled eggs fully cooked. You must ask for them to be "hard" scrambled. Personally I have never heard of such a thing but yes, it is now a thing, or otherwise they come out runny. Keep in mind I have ordered their scrambled eggs many times before and never had this problem. Needless to say I was surprised of the change especially when they charged me again for the eggs when they brought out scrambled eggs that were cooked through. It would have been nice if the waitress had disclosed that when you request they make your order right they charge you for it. Poor service that day for sure. We had the peach gazpacho - since its peach country here - and it was delish! Ciders were decent. But the food had so much butter on it, I felt gross and sick immediately after eating. It could have had good flavor if it wasn't masked by all of the butter. It was just the brunch menu, so I would hope their lunch menu is better. read more
