From the friendly staff, to the perfectly orchestrated exhibition kitchen, to the UNBELIEVABLE food and cocktails, Pêche is truly an outstanding dining experience. Went to Pêche with my family of 6 after Thanksgiving and were treated like kings and queens by the Peche family. We ordered virgin pina coladas, a Negroni, and a yummy amaretto sour. The drinks were delicious and the pina coladas were so creamy and tasty. We ordered multiples of the appetizers with the butternut and sage ravioli being the favorite of the table with the gala apple salad being a close second. The raviolis were sweet and savory while the apple salad was tangy and vibrant. We also ordered the fig, pistachio, and corn salad which was delightful and fresh. We then ordered one of each entree with the accoutrement being the highlight of each dish. The steak was perfectly cooked, the pickled mango with the Ga' were delicious, the focaccia and whipped ricotta was a hit, the Osso Bucco was amazing and tender, the hummus and pickled vegetables alongside the naan and falafel were superb, and the smoked ribs with tangy bbq were a hit. Last but not least was coffee and dessert. We were stuffed to the brim but saved a few bites to share. The apple soufflé was heavenly, warm, and comforting. The deconstructed carrot cake was really good with the candied carrots being my favorite. To top it off, we saw a couple get engaged at the bar and he said YES! The place has a great vibe--relaxed fine dining with a bit of an edge. They usually have good music playing that fills the whole restaurant, so it's definitely on the louder side. The food is phenomenal, and the way the staff presents each dish is almost artistic. Honestly, trying to explain the flavors feels like giving away spoilers--it's something you just have to experience for yourself. The reason for the 4 stars, though, is that when they get busy, the service really drops off. I had to get up and track down my server just to get a box, the check, and even some water. This is a late post from last year that I found in my drafts but in light of recent events regarding the severity of food allergies, I thought it would be constructive criticism for the restaurant. I hope that they have since improved. - - - - My sister had a reservation for this place since June, and had been so excited and raving about it. Unfortunately, this excitement was quickly turned into a dangerous disappointment. It is absolutely unacceptable that a restaurant and their staff are not knowledgeable in the menu they serve. When choosing a meal to order, my sister clearly communicated to her waitress that she has a severe, life threatening allergy to nuts and wanted to know if nuts were used in the Kona Kanpachi entree. The waitress was very confident and said there were no nuts in that dish. Immediately upon tasting the dish, she felt a reaction in her mouth and throat, bumps started to form, and it became difficult for her to swallow. A different waitress comes by and when asked again if anything contained nuts, she confirms that there were peanuts in the papaya dish of the Kona Kanpachi. Someone did kindly run out to get Benadryl but again, something must be done to prevent the negligence and ignorance of the product they serve. Not that any particular staff needs to fired - but management needs to do something: * train your staff better * be more transparent in your menu (literally this item just says "A journey through Thailand," what is that??) People have died in other restaurants where others have been careless with an allergy and this must be taken seriously. Thankfully, the Benadryl did help a little but if you care about your customers, do better and change something to prevent even more severe consequences to future patrons. Also they had the audacity to still ask them to pay the bill while she was still struggling to breathe. 0.5 star for the Benadryl 0.25 star for apparently delicious fries that came with the ribeye 0.25 star for coming to their senses and comping the meal. read more

As you can see, my Yelp reviews are seriously lacking. But there's a thought process behind that. Unless I'm blown away beyond belief (on either side of the spectrum) I'm just not inclined to review. And I can safely say that my meal at the bar at Pêche two nights ago was hands down one of the top three meals I've ever had in my roughly 5 years in the State of Colorado. Why, you may ask? I've broken it down below. 1.) Service. I've worked in luxury hospitality for the last 16 years so I'd like to think I know at least a bit about what makes five star service extraordinary. And this team truly gets it. The night I was there the team was unfortunately in a bit of a short staffed situation, and made no bones about it when explaining entrees may take a bit longer to come out than normal. But when you looked at the dining room and kitchen and saw how in alignment every one on the team was, from the bartender (props to Sarah for her incredible service) to the line cooks and the exec chef who could be found everywhere from serving tables to mixing cocktails, every single team member worked hard to make the guest experience as special as possible. 2.) Food Quality and Presentation. It doesn't matter what you order off the menu, you're going to receive a gargantuan plate of food that looks just as beautiful as it tastes. I had the Foie Gras to start that was as soft and delicate as butter, and accompanied by the most decadent brioche I've ever eaten. I followed with the Middle Eastern which had home made falafel and several sauces to enjoy. I also splurged on their French Fries which were incredible. All this may have not been cheap, but for the incredible amount of food you get, and the quality of the ingredients, I couldn't have asked for better value. 3.) Ambience. This restaurant proves that high end dining doesn't have to be pretentious. The dining room was packed on a Thursday, and everyone from families to business types to those enjoying wine country like I was filled the restaurant. The room is cozy, comfortable, and filled with energy. While I would have probably dimmed the lights a tiny bit for a tad bit more intimacy, that's just a personal preference and didn't steer away one bit from the engaging atmosphere. I'm confident that you'll see Peche in the Michelin Guide in the next 1-2 years the way they are going. That scares me though because I want this neighborhood spot all to myself (I'm fortunate to live a short 45 minute drive away!) I can't recommend Peche enough for the incredible service, unmatched food and drink quality, and the fact that you won't find anything like this in Colorado. A must visit on your next trip to the Western Slope. read more

I visited Peche on a Friday evening during Mother's Day weekend. It was easier to make a reservation than 3 years before. Before you called the restaurant and left a voicemail and hoping for a response. Now you can reserve even for 1 person on Tock. Their menu is still quite eclectic. I sat at the bar near the front and watched people. No T.V.'s. There is a separate chefs counter. I got a very pink Hibiscus Fizz. Very tasty and fizzy. I asked for sparkling water and got a liter bottle of Mountain Valley from the Quachita Mountains of N.W. Arkansas for only $10. My salad course was the English Pea with burrata and freshly baked sourdough bread. A creative presentation. I got a glass of the local Ordinary Fellow sparkling wine. Ideal for the burrata. My main course was their version of Tikka Masala. Lots of baked & roasted chicken with yellow basmati rice, pickled veggies, dips and Mexican fry bread instead of Naan. I finished with a decadent dessert made with house-made chocolate ice cream covered by Amaretto infused Chantilly cream dusted with cinnamon and served with 3 soft Lady Fingers. All for only $14. The steak was RICH and all the appetizers were fresh in terms of creativity and ingredients. The waitress did make a snarky comment that "they don't care about Yelp reviews" which is odd considering they say their goal is "to create an environment where you and your company feel welcomed, where you will receive lovely service provided by a gracious team." My boyfriend and I visited on a Thursday night in the offseason (late April) and were one of 4 groups seated in the restaurant. He booked the chefs table seating option which we usually love. At peche, this seating is not quite as interactive as other places we go. The seating felt very siloed and besides having a view of the kitchen, that was the extent of the chefs table. This was our first time visiting, so I'm not sure if this is usual, but we didn't have one server. The bartender asked us for. Drink order and another person asked for our food order. We had no introduction the the restaurant, the menu, so we didn't really understand how to order. This was a huge mistake. We ordered two entrees, two appetizers, bread and dessert. While this may seem normal at any other restaurant, what we didn't know, but would have learned had we had a server come talk to us, was that the entrees come with a few sides. So we left with enough food for two more meals. This also meant we could have spent about half the money (and not cheap!). All in all, we would come back, but we just wish the staff had been more personable so we could have understood how the restaurant and portions work before ordering WAY too much food. read more

Peche ( pronounced " pesh" ) is an absolute gem and incredibly classy meal. It does run a little on the pricey side, so if that is a concern just stop by for an app or two to get a taste in between wine tasting! They have a sample menu online that is not 100% accurate but can give you an idea of what they may be service. I recommend checking the prices to ensure you are not shocked. They do not unfortunately have many gluten free vegetarian options outside of the salads- however the salads are beautiful and very flavorful. I had the simple salad and charred fig salad. The charred fig was my favorite of the two. My spouse had the hamachi that is served on a literal pillow of ice! Incredible. Each of the drinks and cocktails is meticulously measured and shaken- if you sit at the bar I recommend ordering one just to watch them make it with such care! The entrees are rather pricey, but I will say they each come with hand picked sides and are well portioned. This is a must visit to get the full palisade experience! read more

We have always considered Peche a 5 star experience. Though we don't go often, we've always loved it. Our experience last night was disappointing, though, beginning with the music playing so loud we could barely converse with our friends (there were 4 of us) over the din of everyone else trying to talk over the music. Our food was delicious, as always. It was a busy Wednesday night, though, and the usual Peche good service definitely suffered. We ordered two appetizers to share. Ours came out first, the other couple's came 10 minutes later. Fortunately, ours was tartare so being polite and not eating it right away wasn't a problem. We had the same experience with dessert - ours came out first. After waiting 15 minutes for the second dessert and coffee, our friend got up and hunted down the waitress. It would be one thing if it just took a long time for food to be delivered but there's no excuse for the delay when it's the SAME course. Not sure if we'll go back. read more

This is our favorite restaurant in Colorado and we drove up from Denver to celebrate here. The food and service are both top notch. We were seated on the same side as a booth that was comfortable and really romantic to start. We had a bottle of wine that was delicious and priced right. The star of our show was the Gà dish. I can't stop talking about it - it's one of the best dishes I've ever had and outshone the lamb we also got. The lamb was amazing, don't get me wrong, but the Gà was beyond remarkable. My only issue was my crème brûlée was a bit overdone and slightly broken at the edges. I'm including the cost of our meal since I saw a review saying they spent nearly $500. We had a bottle of wine ($125), an appetizer, two entrees, and 2 desserts for just under $300 before our tip. read more

Our successful annual return - overall 7th visit. The title of this piece should be along the lines "Where are the Michelin/Beard reviewers?". Peche has been always a special place for us and it's certainly culinary heaven of the western Colorado. One might argue that there is no better place to dine between Denver and Vegas. But perhaps it's worth to talk about the genuine effort, innovation, and constant improvement. Here between the beautiful Mesas and Colorado River the Peche team offers beautiful twists on American and modern classics as well as international dishes which are honorably represented with authentic flavors of south east Asia, India, and Europe. All this is achieved using local farmer produce. We decided to go with already established classic appetizers: English pea and Tomatoes with herbs. Simple ingredients with 4 dimensional crunch and herbs which will satisfy every taste bud. This time tomatoes were sprinkled with crunchy bread crumbs elevating them even one kilometer higher than last year. And peas with burrata disappeared within a minute. Entrees here never fail. Three courses of Tika Masala, Lamb, vegetarian Mexican plate showed careful attention to spices which would amaze amaze amaze everyone who experienced big places in London, New York, LA,... Rice with chutney in Tika, Rellenos with smoked pepper sauce, and caponata with lamb just fit perfectly and will make the once a year experience worth it. This place has been always a phenomenal experience and it only gets better every season. Our big applause to chefs and entire staff. If you are looking for great drink - try aviation. Wow! I lived in Chicago for 15 years so when I found out a cook from one of Chicago's top restaurants opened a restaurant in Palisade I booked a reservation right away! We were lucky enough to be able to walk up on a Saturday and get a table. Highly recommend reservations as this place is THE place to dine within the area. Their story is also quite wonderful. I typically post photos of food but I took a breath and it was gone! The ribeye was incredibly tender with a great chimichurray sauce. The Mexican inspired tacos have great flavor... the Adobe chili sauce was phenomenal giving it great heat! The corn tamale pudding was a good twist on a side. The Chiccarones and avocado blend was a bit off but still good flavor. Great wine selection. Our minds were blown by the simple things that the chef elevated to being a taste experience. The sour dough. Crisp yet tender. Superb. Charred romaine. This simple side became a "how did he do that?" experience. My husbands rice dish that seemed to morph flavor wise with every chew. Indescribable. EVERYTHING was amazing from the helpful staff (it was our first time dining at Peche), to the menu choices, to our soufflé at the end of the meal (like eating a cloud). Unfortunately Pêche did not meet expectations and was very disappointing. We had been told Pêche is the best restaurant in the valley and coming from LA we had to try it. My fiancé and I went last night for my 40th birthday. We are people that like to sit and the bar and talk with the bartender so we booked a seat at the bar. The bartender does not really engage with customers. He barely talked to us when we were wrapping up the bill and he was drying glasses. Had we known we would have gotten a table and might have received better service from waitress. Next the salad said it had black truffles according to menu. There were no black truffles or flavor of truffle whatsoever. The salad tasted like citrus and salt in greens. The waitress said there is truffle oil in the dressing yet still no hint of it. Had we known there was no black truffles we would not have ordered the salad. Next the platter line Mexican cuisine plate had no protein anywhere in the dish. We asked the waitress to explain what it came with and she simply said quesadilla chile relleno tostada but should have said there is no meat in anything. She could have better explained menu but I felt like she was in the weeds and rushed to take our order after we waited for a while and she realized she forgot to get our food order. They don't say it's vegetarian because it's fried in tallow. Never would have ordered this plate had we known there was no meat or seafood. Would have gone with the steak that our neighbor ordered and smelled good. The only thing that was good was the chicken in the taste of India plate. For all the rave I would not recommend going here for serious foodies. I left really disappointed. I could have cooked something better at home for my birthday and at a much lower price.
