My absolute favorite spot in the Ballantyne area. Dining is always a pleasure and wonderful experience at 131 Main. The menu offers a variety of great food selections. My favorite is the big island ribeye. When I order the ribeye is always prepared at the requested temperature. The drink menu also provides variety and offers craft drinks. Most recently I celebrated my birthday - yay- and was not disappointed. When we arrived we were seated pretty quickly as there was not a wait. The restaurant does offer reservations. I would recommend reservations if you have a large party or celebrating a special occasion. The staff are always professional and pleasant. The restaurant also offers "off menu" items so be sure to ask about the selections. To top off the wonderful dinner, there is a nice selection of desserts. read more

My husband and I went here for the first time this past Friday with my in laws. Service, drinks, and food was excellent. Starting off with service. Our server was very knowledge and friendly. She wasn't pushy at all regarding what to get other than recommendations when we asked for it. She was also very accommodating to what we wanted. I forgot what drinks we had but they were very delicious. Not too much alcohol but not too little. We had the ahi tuna stack appetizer (my husband hates cucumbers and avocado but loved it in this stated it was the sauce that made the difference). I had the blackened chicken pasta with shrimp added, and he had the double cut pork chop. My mother in law had the fresh cut salmon and my father in law had prime rib sandwich. The portions are very generous we got so full and didn't have room for dessert sadly! We will definitely be back. read more

The marinade was exquisite. +The loaded mashed potatoes were great. +More than one wait staff member constantly checked up on us, to ensure a pleasant customer experience. This restaurant was pretty packed on a Tuesday evening, and there was a 45 minute to 1 hour and 20 minute wait which was a good sign upon arrival. Luckily, there was some space at the bar to squeeze in and grab a wonderful meal with a colleague. The bartenders and food runners were on point. We went to 131 MAIN for my moms birthday and it was so good!! From the moment we arrived to the last step out, this dinner was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed the Thai steak salad and holy MOLY was it yummy. I ordered an old fashioned and it was delicious as well. I love the huge brick of ice in the glass when I order a fancy drink. Somehow it makes me feel more fancy since I don't have huge bricks of ice at home to use on my own old fashions! I was in the zone with my own dinner, so I'll guess what everyone else had- my mother had the salmon (I recall tasting it and loving it), dad and husband each had red meat of some sort, my son had shrimp and grits (and devoured it) and my daughter had her usual staple, a cheeseburger. Everyone left full and happy, and my mother had an awesome birthday dinner!! Our server was excellent too. When we arrived we were seated right by the door draft and it was a bitter cold night. We asked if we could be loved somewhere warmer and we were seated by the kitchen. I thought this would be a disaster, but it was still very professional and quiet- a HUGE star in my book! I was a server for many years and know the shenanigans staff can get into during a busy dinner service. I was very appreciative of the entire experience here. Curb side was not great. They told us it would be 15 minutes so we hurried to get there. We ended up waiting over a half hour. Person delivering the food was not wearing mask or gloves and asked us to sign receipt which none of the other restaurants are doing. The salad we ordered had really tough chicken! The trout was good and smashed potatoes were ok. Update: 7/31/20. Decided to try one more time and was exactly as before. Nothing changed! No masks, food was late, and was stone cold. My husband had pork chops and said they were pretty good. I ended up with a salad which was average but the dressing was way too sweet. It was supposed to be ranch but it wasn't. I ordered the blackened chicken pasta and I didn't see a single piece of chicken it. It was way too spicy for me so I ended up swapping it out for a different dish. If I could give zero stars, I would. My birthday dinner was ruined by the incompetence of the cooks and staff. I ordered the 'special' medallions but was told they were sold out. Our steaks were completely under cooked. It took about 10 minutes to get our steaks cooked properly. The remainder of the steak I wanted to take home was somehow 'thrown out' and we're waiting now for a new steak to be cooked. This has been a horrible experience and we won't come back. Great Service Great Food! I met a friend there, she had been multiple times and said it was delicious. I can't remember what she ordered, but she liked it. Started with the corn bread very moist and scrumptious, served with tasty honey. I had the Halibut and traded out the asparagus for the green beans. The beans were very good, and they had a some sort of little ham like meat mixed in with them, it added just the right amount of salt to the beans and was oh so good! Served in a cast iron pan, warm and moist corn bread was good. Soup of the day was tomato soup and it was rich and pretty good. But main dishes were mediocre. So I am struggling terribly with this review. 131 Main is a good restaurant with great people. I am going to get straight to the rating to get that out of the way. We ordered the Filet Medallions special and both the medallions were unreasonably overcooked. The temperature requested was med rare and they were extremely well done. I rarely complain about my food unless I really feel it is unacceptable; unfortunately this was one of those times. Being able to cook a steak to the proper temperature is rudimentary and there is truly never an understandable time for any chef, sous chef, line cook etc.. to get the temperature wrong. Now having said that......it is not a perfect world, we are humans and though we may strive for perfection we won't always achieve it. But unfortunately this was my experience tonight. So now that that is out of the way......there are plenty of great things I can say about my experience. The Braised Lamb Shank was absolutely delicious. It is a rustic dish that is tender, full of flavor and has a perfectly balanced sauce. It was served on red mashed potatoes which which were delightful. The components were all very complimentary with a variety of flavors and textures. I can also say the the Filets were definitely quality cuts of meat and prepared in a lovely sauce, but not lovely enough to overcome the temperature. As I always say a critical part to any dining experience is the service provided by the staff. I can certainly say that 131 Main get 5 stars in that area. We sat at the bar and our server Robby could not have been better. He took time to talk to us, did a great job making my Old Fashioned to my request was super attentive and responsive. He took the steak off the bill as soon as I made him aware of the issue. He offered to make us another one which we would have accepted but just did not have the time. Robby is truly an asset to 131 Main and like many others in the restaurant industry is battling his way back from the challenges of these last 2 years. When you are out dining please be thankful for the staff that allows these moments of respite. And represent those thanks when you are filling out that little extra line on your check. They deserve it!!!! ! I intend to go back and I have every confidence that my next time around..I will be able to add those last 2 stars. read more

Fantastic meal and ambience tonight, due in part to our stellar wait staff lead by Jesus. The restaurant has a masculine supper club vibe that is hip and inviting.
