This place is NOT child friendly. Please do not go here if you have children. My 1 year old was accused of "vandalism" and "grafitti" by the wait staff because she drew on their table with the crayons that they provided. We tried to prevent her from doing it but with children especially toddlers things can happen fast and this place cannot handle it. We did not deserve the way we were approached about the so called "vandalism" with the crayons. read more

We were looking for IHOP. This was across the street from where IHOP was supposed to be. No GF pancakes so I got oatmeal and fruit. My husband got pancakes, eggs and sausage. The waitress asked him if he wanted 2 or 3 pancakes. The pancakes were huge. He was glad that he said 2. Excellent food and service. We will return when we are in town again. read more

I don't know where some of these people ate. I have been a regular patron of 1431 Cafe for 2 years and can only recall one instance when the cook slid off the rails. The problem was quickly corrected and I left smiling as usual. In addition to the great home style food and friendly service. I would call out my server today for excellence, but it wouldn't be fair to all the others. They are all first rate and smiling even when rushed and tired. Oh, BTW the house made deserts are GREAT. The food used to be pretty good and the service was acceptable. We think that the restaurant has new management because both the food and service are very subpar. There seemed to be enough help as we have gone twice at opening. Omelette was greasy and toast and potatoes were cold. No one checking back to see if everything is ok until it's time to pay the check. The first time we thought it was a fluke, so gave the diner another chance, but had the same experience. DO NOT expect a quick in and out. We were skipped in the "30min" wait. Could have been a fixable mistake with an apology or even being seated next. We were eventually seated and ordered immediately. Update: Well, lesson learned. No sooner had I posted a 4-star review than I just had the most awful experience with 1431. Specifically a gentleman (did not get his name) who answered the phone... My husband picked up a to-go order for us and got home to discover 1/2 the order was wrong. Not a huge deal - got a veggie omelette instead of the veggie scramble. I called to just give them a heads up about what had happened so that it wouldn't happen to other people (busy day/time but attention to detail is important), and was aggressively told that we got what we ordered. He went so far as to say that he doesn't like doing to-go orders anyway and that if we don't want to risk picking up an incorrect order we just shouldn't order to-go. And then hung up on me. WOW. I don't imagine they'll go out of business like tomorrow. But I can't imagine that with an attitude like that they will be in business for much longer. We were weekend regulars (both dine in and carry out) but will never be back. There's plenty of good food in this town that doesn't include a side of aggression. read more

Would love to recommend this place, and have been going for quite some time and never had an issue, but this afternoon was a bit too much and a phone call with what I assume is one of the managers puts an end to out patronage of this establishment. When you order one thing, get home, and find another thing entirely it's a little annoying. It happens though. When you call and politely point out the problem and are told that if you don't want to dine in then you shouldn't come here...as Ron Burgundy said, "That escalated quickly." Customer service is paramount in this day and age and arguing with your customers over an order, then aggressively talking over them, and hanging up on them is beyond the pale. It's unnecessary and rude and certainly makes it known that they no longer want our business. read more

I have come here several times the food is always good and the service is great. I would definitely recommend, but if you are going on the weekend I would try to go before 10:00am because they get really busy around brunch time. The wait is never too bad but if you have a larger group that is really hungry I would go earlier because it might take a minute. Very nice local place. read more

First visit... thought I would try the special... however I didn't want the juice but was told I had to take it. I ordered tea and asked if possible to substitute it. "Not possible". I mean if the special is difficult to order and I mentioned it was my first time dining why not explain things a little bit better. I don't understand the three star rating..... It's true the hostess is all pierced up but she's beautiful in her self expression. It's true the waitress who seated us was clearly upset when we asked for a booth, which, she informed us, was not her station. TMI. I just wanted a booth. You really have to rate this place on the food. Kayla at The Grove told us this was hands down the best place for breakfast in Cedar Park, maybe even in the greater Austin area! Kayla, thank you! Our waitress, Rene, was sweet, charming, funny, quick, efficient and helpful! Thank goodness we were seated in her "station"! The food comes out fast, hot, and expertly prepared. And I'm picky. My Bacon and Swiss Omelet was spectacular. My only complaint - too much bacon - if that's even a thing! The accompanying biscuit was pure biscuit heaven. Tender, moist, melt in your mouth biscuit heaven. Why didn't I take a photo?? I forgot - so go eat there, see for yourself! Eggs Benedict are a specialty here and they are as amazing as the omelet. My buddy and I have been coming here for years for breakfast on Saturday mornings. The food is delicious, and the wait staff have always been attentive, even when the breakfast crowd comes in and the place is packed. Try the French toast with eggs - that's my favorite. The benedict was good, but I think the sausage could have been left out of the gravy. The poached eggs were overcooked as there was no runny yolk. I really wanted to try something new. The service was great. The waitress was really sweet. The only issue was the taste. It was really bland and had to add a lot of salt to taste the food. No seasoning flavor to the fried chicken sandwich I ordered. The bun was sticky and sweet tasting, so could not eat that. Just added my chicken to the salad that I had as a side. I will say a bit pricey. $3.35 for a glass of tea is a little steep!!! I stuck with water. The cheapest drink was $3.35. No thank you. Other than that, great service! read more

The bartender was an older woman and was incredibly rude from the moment she asked for our drink order to the moment we payed.
