One of the best HK style chachanteng in NYC. Food is good and the wall decor (HK movie posters) is nice. Staff is friendly (at least to a fellow HKer).

Pretty legit hk cafe, I was pleasantly surprised. A bit dim and tables aren't that comfy but the decor makes it quite HK vibes especially seeing crates of glass bottled soda once you walk in. The food is decent for SI (limited choices) compared to other boroughs, a bit pricier but their quality seems decent. Their lemon tea and HK milk tea is pretty authentic. I've tried both dining in and take out and both takes quite some time, I think this is a small business and they're a bit low on staff, expect a bit of a wait or order in advance. Shared parking is available at the back of the restaurant!

Finally a real Hong Kong style cafe in Staten Island. Their HK style milk tea is the best in NYC. I LOVE their main course/main dishes: Golden salted ginger chicken, Kyoto pork chop, Fresh pineapple sweet and sour spare ribs, fish filet with fried tofu in brown sauce. I would also suggest their appetizers: Salted egg yolk chicken wings, salt & pepper chicken wings, fish balls, pig skin and radish in curry sauce; pan fried oysters; Hong Kong style French toast. Well, you'll need to make many trips to try them all lol

Baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce, Hong Kong style French toast and Hong Kong milk tea

A friend recommend HKS kitchen to us and I came for a quick lunch with my family on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived around 12:30pm and got seated right away. We ordered the baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce, satay beef with cheesy Raman, satay beef bun and Hong Kong style lava French toast. The baked pork chop rice was flavorful with egg fried rice at the bottom. They used a very nice piece of pork chop which was juicy and tender with minimal fat (I've had some where almost half of the pork chop is a chunk of fat where there's nothing much to eat unless you just like to eat a solid piece of fat). The satay beef cheesy noodles tasted very similar to the ones I've had in Hong Kong. The cheese wasn't too overpowering where you'll feel very heavy after eating it. The satay sauce has a very aromatic peanut flavor which balanced very well with mixed with the cheesy sauce. The Ramen was perfectly cooked to al dente. The Hong Kong style French toast was everyone's favorite. The thickness of the toast was perfect with edge was still crispy when it came out and soft on the inside. There was an explosion of flavors from the savory salted egg yolk paste on the inside and the sweet condensed milk and butter on the outside. The flavors and texture of this dish were very well balanced and executed. Finally, I ordered a Hong Kong style milk tea to try and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. It was smooth and had a very strong tea flavor with their own house tea blend. I ordered it hot so was able to add the sugar according to my liking. It's definitely a legit cup of milk tea. Overall, the food was solid and I found it even better than a lot of Hong Kong style cafes in Manhattan. The staffs were friendly and attentive and service was fast. We all enjoyed the food and can't wait to go back again to try other items they have to offer.

Fried fish ball with Curry sauce , a banger definitely recommend this. It bring back that street vibe flavors but would love it if it had a bit more curry touch to it and more fishball. Rating: 7/10 Club sandwich is good love it, classic a bit messy to eat but would recommend. Nothing too special but a stable food to go for as appetizers. Rating: 7/10 Chicken Wing with salt and pepper. It's classic and done right but presentation and flavor can use a bit help Rating: 7/10 Spaghetti Pork Chop w/ white sauce. This one is great dish, well baked and the flavor again can use a bit of more but otherwise classic and good. VERY CREAMY ++ Rating: 7.5/10 Black Pepper beef with rice. The flavor is there overall not bad dish and pretty fulfilling. Rating: 7/10 The food flavor can use a bit more help on this side, BUT if you order many other appetizers and food together then the flavor balances out eventually but still a highly recommend place for dine in to eat. It brings back home food memeories OVERALL RATING: 7/10 (HIGHLY RECOMMEND)

Had this place booked marked for a while since I love my hk food. Came around 3pm and it wasn't busy there was plenty of street parking available. I loved that they play the old school hk songs I grew up listening to. The staff was friendly although they don't bring you water or tea upon seating, their borscht and hk milk tea was on point. I ordered the fish filet with corn over rice and I thought it was just okay, I normally get this baked near my house for $11 and their menu was a little confusing and I think the price for it baked might have been $16-$20 which I couldn't justify. My friend ordered baked curry beef brisket and he enjoyed it, I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese curry and it was a tad bit thick for my liking. I would come back but work not purposely come to the island for this.

My first meal from Staten Island. A friend gave them a good review. Thought to give them a try. They deliver to the pick up spots in Queens and Long Island on Saturdays; but will door to door with a minimum of $100. My math obvious isn't too good: thought it was over $100 (ok forgot to count my fingers ...) I would have ordered two fish balls were I calculated. But they're kind enough to do it. Their food is above average. If it's not this far, I probably will go or order again. The fishball is my fave. The meat dishes are good but I didn't have much appetite - when I placed the order, I just got out of the swimming pool, done my 1,000 yard, can eat a whole pig at that movement. The free red bean soup is good, not sweet at all, which is great to my taste. I asked if it comes with rice , the gent said no but graciously offered a free container. I declined, but thanked him. The ordering process was easy and smooth.

My favorite HK cafe in NYC. Their HK milk tea & Lemon tea are amazing. Their food is good too. Price is reasonable.

That's when we found Lion Dance in Staten Island. Honestly, I didn't expect much because this place is on Staten Island. I've lived here my whole life, and to be real, not a lot of food spots here are that good. I usually go to other parts of NYC to eat. But BOY, WAS I WRONG. I got the pork soup dumplings, lotus leaf steamed rice with beef and broccoli, shrimp siu mai, and a mango green tea with medium sugar and mango jelly. Everything was so good! The biggest surprise was the lotus leaf steamed rice, it had so much flavor and went perfectly with the beef. The portion was big too. The soup dumplings were juicy, the siu mai were fresh, and the mango green tea was super refreshing. Service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the place was clean and nicely decorated. Overall, I loved the food, the vibe, and the service. Definitely coming back and if you're from Staten Island, trust me, this spot is worth checking out!

I was asking about reservation, they said it's not needed-the Jade Island is huge! But we called for a reservation... I was very skeptical from the start about Chinese cuisine-not my taste, but my friends repeated about old school, classic Chinese Food! At the start-yes, the place is huge! With different shape tables -from 2 to bigger for 10 and more... Surprisingly, there were still a lot of diners at that late time... I forgot Chinese food totally and opted for a safe option- Fried rice with shrimps- very tasty, not salty..huge portion-took home half of it. We ordered Tofu with veggies-crispy veggies, Bock Choi not over- or under cooked-perfect - and tofu-delicious and family size prefix for 2 -with soups/spring rolls and main-chicken... This place is so nostalgic just for the decor alone, it makes me long for the good old days! This place has big portions, great service, and caters to a more American dining experience with big tables for parties or even reunions. Non-negotiable items I have to get every time I'm here: - egg rolls - big and crispy - wonton egg drop mixed - the pieces of pork are HUGE - orange chicken - perfect white chicken meat every time! - chicken and broccoli - tried and true We usually come around 5PM on a Saturday to beat the rush and it works out perfectly that we don't need to make any reservations.
