One of my favorite breakfast spots in El Paso! Everything I have tried has been great, but my favorites so far are the French toast, the avocado toast and the bread pudding. Not only is the food delicious, but it's a beautiful restaurant itself. You can sit outside in the patio amongst the fountains and greenery or inside with the high vaulted ceiling and rustic charm. I was really excited about eating at "The Kitchen at 150 Sunset". The menu looked really good, and the space seemed beautiful. We arrived on a Sunday morning and were told it would be a 35 minute wait, which is to be expected for a Sunday. It was75 minutes. I would of been okay with the 75 minutes if I had been told if was 75 minutes. I had sugar covered bullshit, nothing aggravates me more. Once we had our table it took a really long time just to get water, and once we ordered our food? Forget it. It was ANOTHER 45 minute wait. 45 minutes for food! There were plenty of open tables at this point, and TWO other tables that came in after us got their food before us, and there were only 2 of us at our table and 4 people at the other tables that came in after us and got their food first. Total BS. I was pretty pissed off. A lot could of been mended if the food had been really good. But it wasn't. I barely ate half of mine and I was just really unimpressed as a whole. I am not vegan or vegetarian but I eat a diet made up of mostly vegan and vegetarian food. It would of been nice if there had been more than 1 vegan option (Which was vegan yogurt with berries and honey), I mean there are some bad ass vegan recipes out there, you just have to Google it or check out Vegan Chef Chloe Coscarell, who's has one a zillion awards. Anyway, I digress. The outdoor space was beautiful, and I loved the covered patio, and our server was nice, but I go out to a restaurant to eat and I probably wouldn't eat there again unless I could be guaranteed an ACCURATE waiting time for a table and a reasonable wait time for our food. read more

When the weather is perfect, like it usually is in EP, brunch is a must here. The patio and atmosphere are one of the best in town. Get there early on Sunday to beat the crowds from the farmers market at The Substation. They also have a great wine and cocktail menu. I was able to go back tonight for a Yelp Event. First off the owner was there and stayed the entire time. Often asking us about our experience. The Manager, Romero, blew me away when he remembered me from months ago. Later in the evening I was able to meet the Chef when he canvased the restaurant asking about our experience. I tried this place last month with some friends. Great ambience and the food is delicious so we went back couple more times just in a month. Last time went for family breakfast, the waiter did not take order from us and started taking orders from the tables coming in after us. When we mentioned that, the manager (Hector) came himself to apologize and took care of our order himself. He gave us free sides and expedited our order to be prepared in a few minutes. I've been here three times and always end up disappointed. Breakfast is ok, but they always undercook the eggs which is bothersome to me (even when I specifically ask for over medium). Last time I was there for brunch they somehow completely forgot our order, when I went to ask for it (30 minutes later) they said the cook never got it and that they would start it, so we ended up eating a solid hour after we ordered (and paid). I would've expected some sort of apology but we got nothing. Whenever I go get more coffee the pots are always empty and have to ask for them to refill them (it wouldn't had bothered me if it had been one time, but it has happened to me too often). read more

This place is absolutely amazing and it keeps getting better! The restaurant is constantly expanding and it looks like the ballroom area is growing as well, though the nursery seems to be getting smaller. But I regress... The Kitchen is absolutely amazing with a variety of new plates and flavors that everything sounds good and tastes even better! I ate here and got one of their smothered eggs on toast dishes (can't remember the fancy-smancy french name) and it was absolutely delicious. Their plates are really big and enough to share if your willing to put up a fight with your partner...sometimes I just want to keep eating after I'm full hahaha They had a Yelp deal with $1 breakfast tacos during the week but it looks like they stopped that promotion. But they were friendly enough to honor my yelp check in deal. The breakfast tacos were huge and satisfying to the tummy, especially after a good morning bike ride. I do have to comment, I didn't much like the chorizo taco as the chorizo wasn't spicy enough and distributed evenly in the taco. But the potato and bacon tacos were great and went really well with their home made salsa, so much so that I practically drenched my taco's in it. I'd highly recommend going on a cool summer morning to really enjoy their patio area. They got a series of fountains in the area that provide great ambient noise to go along with your conversation. They have misting fans but I haven't been there when they are on. The place is actually a good meditation area for a nice cup of coffee and breakfast on a slow morning. The french toast was made of a thick, buttery, light bread, with huge berries, a berry gastrique, and cream. The omelet was filled with amazing turkey, white cheddar, and roasted green chile. The nutty, peppery,arugula side salad was perfect with the sweet poppyseed dressing. If you're looking for a hearty, traditional breakfast, go for the House Breakfast. Waited for about 45 min when we were told 20 min. Then when we were seated ordered, 20 minutes go by and we ask our server if we're gonna get our appetizer out first since we ordered that first. He then states "oh yes it'll be right out". A family of four walk in get seated then they order. So now 45 min go by and still no appetizer or order, all of a sudden family of 4 that came in after us got there order first. Not to mention we were the same amount of people at our table. Lying host: My wife and I went for a lunch on 7/25 at 1pm. We registered at the door with the host received a confirmation text that we were 8th on the waiting list on Yelp. We went to the bar we ordered 2 mimosas (mango) and they were not good. We waited for 1 hour at the small little wine bar they have, watching our place in line on Yelp. When we were the number one couple on Yelp our account went blank as if we never had a reservation. I went to the front where the girl that was working the door and took our information. I notified her of the problem. She looked in her iPad and started telling me that we never placed a reservation and giving me a bunch of excuses. I showed her my original text from them I received confirming we had a place in line and she began lying that I never registered with her. I explained she was the one who took our reservation and our number after a back and fourth and now over an hour of waiting I told her to go fly a kite. I went over to my wife and we both left. As we were walking out the door I told her she didn't need to lie about the whole situation. I would of been ok if she would of told me there was a technical glitch and got us a table. Poor training on their staff... We left and didn't eat there & will never eat there again. That girl made us feel like we shouldn't complain about her lack of experience... Owners you can watch the video tape and you can see she took our information and just plain screwed up... Training is the key to a successful restaurant. Train your staff to own their mistakes. Found this place on Yelp and my husband and I were excited to go! I got the Greek Salad with Salmon, Brussel Sprouts and Mac & Cheese on the side. My husband got the Challah Bread French Toast with berries and Bacon on the side. I loved that they asked you your desired doneness for the Salmon. It was very moist and flavorful. I liked that they deconstructed the Greek salad. The veggies were so fresh and the red wine vinaigrette brought out the freshness of the veggies. The french toast was a generous serving of 2 large slices, freshly made whipped cream and berries. It was enough for two. The sprouts and mac were delicious! Our Waiter made great recommendations and brought the food out as soon as it was done! My mac and cheese was still bumbling when it hit the table! I highly recommend this place. I wish the weather were better so that we could've eaten outside. They have a very eclectic collection of furniture in a garden environment. It's just beautiful! read more

I went with my family for an early Sunday breakfast and was very happy with the ambiance, service and food. I'd recommend the breakfast tacos and an iced coffee on a warm morning.
