Came for the Saint-Raf bagels, stopped for the coffee. Really cute, bright spot to study/work, caffeine, and if they haven't run out of bagels, enjoy a tasty one. The vanilla latte was smooth, well balanced, and just the right amount of sweetness. The bagel was light, and not doughy. I had the egg salad sandwich which was delicious, my only issue is that I forgot to ask the staff to toast the bagel. My BF had the everything bagel with cream cheese and scallions, toasted. Taking a bite of his bagel showed me the possibility of what mine could have been. The exterior had a nice crunch and the interior a softness that almost melted in your mouth. I was so excited to try this place out. Honestly very good bagels and tasteful coffee. The staff was really friendly and service was fast! It is nice and quiet to come read or get some work done. They also have an outside deck with tables and chairs to enjoy the outside. Highly recommend this place! I will definitely keep coming back. read more

Coffee shop in Cypress Park? Cool. I like their vanilla lattes, the espresso and coffee are of great quality. Coffee is strong. They have a spinach croissant and it's HEAVENLY. Ham & Cheese croissant is good too. This spot has a lot of room to study/ hang out. read more

12/12/21-12/18/21 OTM: I had the option to choose the coconut chocolate brew (chocolate cold brew with coconut milk) or matcha #2 (matcha with macadamia nut milk, sweetened with vanilla and topped with coconut milk). I ended up getting the coconut chocolate brew, which was really good. Not too sweet! I also got the matcha #2. That was my favorite. It tasted creamy, but not the tastes "unhealthy" and unnatural. It's probably one of my favorite matcha drinks I've had so far in LA. I didn't get any espresso based drinks, so I can't comment on the beans. This means that I'll be back to try one! The interior is really nice and modern. Also, the baristas were very nice and helpful. Parking is free and plentiful. Added bonus. read more

We got the salmon and cream cheese sandwich and tomatoes and cucumber sandwich. Great flavours although tomatoes in both sandwiches were very runny and made bagels wet. We both got salt and pepper bagels, I never had that before and it's great! The only thing I didn't like was the bagels were a little tough to bite through, I had to really tear through the crust. My jaw had a good exercise after eating the sandwich. read more

Good spot! It always smells amazing in there because of their bagels. I've been to 3 different coffee shops that have this amazing chocolate chip cookie. 1802 roasters, stumptown, and Maru. This review is just based on the bagels. We ordered 3 bagels to go and let me tell you, it felt like ages before we got it. There was a lady that ordered behind us and got her bagel before we did. Not sure what kinda system that is. Anyways we finally got our bagels and took it home which is a short 6 minute walk. 1. Our smoked salmon bagel was super soggy and the edges of the bagel was mushy 2. My hot pastrami sandwich wasn't even hot. The cheese was still in its cold square form. He toasted the bagel, so the bagel was kinda hard with a cold center. I had to throw it in the microwave for another 45 secs to actually make it hot and the cheese melty. Neither bagel was cut. The guy with the dyed yellow hair looked frantic as he was making the bagels cause he kept looking at a sheet on the wall to maybe see what was in the bagel. They may have had an off day, but if you're charging $17.25 per sandwich bagel, I'm not sure you can have many off days. read more

I came in today to try the bagels. My NY friend let me know these bagels were legit. I ordered one plain & one everything with cream cheese to go. Took them home, toasted them & man, she was right! These bagels are exceptional. Vibe inside was really calm & welcoming. There were people working on their laptops. One of my new favorite spots to work remotely. I love sitting by the window looking out onto the street, and the coffee is great. There are also outlets, which is something I'm always looking for in a coffee shop. No food though except bagels (that I've seen). read more

Talk about junk fees. Got a hot latte at $6 so I thought hmm pretty expensive even though I saved them money by providing my own Fellow tumbler. Then I looked at my receipt with 4.6% transaction fee on top of the $6 and they had the audacity to ask for tip. AVOID this place. I should have paid attention to the unwelcoming vibes when we first walked through the door. read more

Honestly I was so excited to try this new place (new to me) staff was nice. Buttttt the bagel wash terrible. The begal was so stale. Please toast the bread, I wouldn't give this place a second shot honestly. I don't mind paying 15$ for a bagel, but if you want to charge 15$ a bagel ensure it's good. I always get the decaf vanilla latte for me and my parents since they live down the street. My parents absolutely love it! I really do enjoy the coffee here but I hate the service. I've called to order ahead numerous times thinking it would be ready upon arrival. It's never the case and today it was really upsetting. I called at 2:54 pm to order the drink. I let the person I spoke to that i would be there at 3:10 pm. I arrived right at 3:10 pm and it wasn't even ready. She said if she would've made it it would've cooled down too much which is honestly just an excuse. Don't have the option to call to order if customers orders aren't even going to be ready. read more

Great spot a bit off of San Fernando! There are some neat shops nearby that make it a great walkable area, and Roasters gets extra points for offering lot parking. The shop itself has great ambiance and ample seating, while the bagels are top-notch. Got myself a classic Bacon Egg & Cheese on everything, I was not disappointed! The cashier/barista was also very kind and honest about choices, would definitely recommend this place to anyone in Highland Park/Glendale area and anyone else willing to make the drive! read more

I've gotten coffee all over East LA and this place is my new favorite. They have an amazing Chocolate Cold Brew with Coconut latte, great seasonal drinks, juices, great matcha, and all kinds of alternative milks. Also, their pastries are INCREDIBLE and I highly recommend the spinach artichoke pastry. They have a great vegan pumpkin coffee cake right now too! COVID WISE- they have a drive through/walk up combination window, hand sanitizer, and a friendly staff. I walk the dogs and they always offer a treat and water. There are a few tables around the side of the building- although better for the morning (they don't get a lot of shade in the afternoon). read more

1802 is def a standout little coffee shop and roaster. Their 1802 cold brew is just about the only cold brew I'll drink (it's cold brewed with filipino chocolate, but it's not sweetened or sugary at all) and they do what appears to be V60 pour overs as well using their beans. I saw light Ethiopians and some interesting China and Mexico beans on the shelf around 20 bucks per bag. Nice to find a local roaster like this where I can come in and order a pour over, buy the beans if I like them, and discuss grind size/water temp/technique to try and match what I had in store - takes some of the pain out of finding a bag of beans you love and dialing it in. Bagels are fresh and the texture is right for LA - the smoked salmon bagel came loaded with salmon and was very satisfying. I wish they did a bacon egg and cheese on these bagels, but I understand that would add a whole hot food prep dimension to what they've got going on which is a coffee-focused cafe with good bagels so I get it. read more

Best bagels in LA. Best coffee shop service in LA. Great outdoor area to hang and great seats in the window inside. One of the strongest and therefore most best cold brews in LA. Love this little coffee spot. Open during Covid - they have takeout and a drive through as well as a patio area with tables and umbrellas if you want to stay and enjoy your coffee and food. My favorite is the cold brew with coconut milk and my boyfriend loves their vanilla lattes. We're local and have been going every weekend. They also have cold pressed juice and some interesting match drinks. I haven't tried their pastries or breakfast sandwiches, but those definitely look yummy if you're in the mood for a treat. I usually get the matcha latte with oat milk here. It is fantastic. Pastries are also really good, would recommend the herb and cheese danish. The pastries do run out quickly though, so be sure to go early. Prices are normal for the area. There is free parking on the side and even a drive thru! Nice baristas as well. read more

The drink was well executed overall, with a nice texture, good balance, and clean presentation. What stood out most was how clearly the coffee itself came through. Once the drink cooled just slightly, I was really able to pick up the characteristics of the coffee, and those flavors became even more apparent toward the end of the cup. If I had one small technical critique, it would be that the drink was served just a hair hotter than my personal preference for a cortado. Not by much, but enough that I felt the sweetness and nuance opened up a bit more as the temperature dropped. Beyond that, the milk integration was solid, the body held together well throughout the drink, and it was an enjoyable from start to finish. One thing I really appreciated was getting to watch Jack work. You can immediately see the passion and attention to detail he brings to his craft. It's rare to see someone so committed to quality that they're willing to remake a drink as many times as necessary until they're completely satisfied with it. That level of care and consistency is something any coffee enthusiast can respect.

She was genuinely engaged in talking about coffee, understood the beans she was serving, and was able to answer questions without hesitation. That's becoming harder to find these days, and it definitely added to the overall experience. The cortado itself was well executed. The temperature was right where it should be, allowing the flavors to come through immediately without having to wait for the drink to cool down. I was able to clearly taste the notes in the coffee, and the balance between the espresso and milk was excellent. The body held together nicely throughout the drink and never felt thin or watered down. My only critique would be that the crema and microfoam leaned a little more matte and foamy than glossy. It wasn't enough to take away from the drink, but a slightly silkier, shinier texture would have elevated it even further. That said, this was an Ethiopian natural, which can be a bit trickier to dial in and pair with milk while still preserving the character of the coffee, so it's a fairly minor criticism. Overall, a very good cortado from a shop that clearly cares about coffee. Good execution, proper temperature, clear flavor separation, and knowledgeable staff always make for a better coffee experience.

It's the kind of place you go to hang out, catch up, or just enjoy the scene. I ordered the brown sugar latte, but honestly, I barely tasted the brown sugar. It was fine, just nothing special. The cinnamon roll was better. Soft, nicely baked, and worth trying at least once. I would come back for the vibes more than the coffee. It's a solid place to sit, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere.

The pop-up is easy to find, it's outside facing into the parking lot, and they had a cute A-frame sign out by the street side. There was no line, and I ordered and sat down at one of the tables out front. The service was so warm, and I believe the shop is owned and operated by one man on his own! He was an absolute delight to meet, and he brought my matcha latte to me at the table when it was prepared. He suggested I get the cream top on it, and boy was that the perfect recommendation. I would say I'm a little bit of a matcha fiend... I think I got a matcha latte at 3 different places this day... and this one far surpassed the others. I think it was one of the best matcha lattes I have ever drank to-date. It was perfectly green, the matcha quality was phenomenal, both taste and look-wise. The texture was just right, perfectly creamy with barely any grittiness. The cream top only added to the drink, and didn't take away from the matcha flavor at all, which I feel like has happened at other places for me. I'm dreaming of this matcha latte days later, and need to go back to Kokoro No Coffee as soon as I am in town again. This was a spectacular find, and I hope this spot gets all the love it deserves! I ordered the cantaloupe milk with added matcha. The cream top was faintly sweet and the matcha mixed into the milk really balanced out the sweet melon flavor.
