I wish that I could give this cute vegan spot a higher rating. The shaded patio is really nice and there are a few spots out front to eat if you'd prefer that. Parking was easy as well. There isn't a restroom at Little Barn or anywhere else nearby so plan ahead. We knew that so the 3 rating is not about that. We had a really hard time ordering. Lots of repeating and there was still a mistake when we received our order. We were given an vegan iced horchata latte instead of hot. I know that I could have returned it and asked for what I wanted, but by then I just wanted to go. We ordered a vegan Queso Con Rajas. There was enough mozzarella , a slight amount of poblano, and no jalapeños or tomato salsa in the tamale. The masa was good, but I expected more in the filling. We also ordered a vegan sausage breakfast biscuit. The biscuit was very nice. We ordered some side biscuits & maple butter (maple syrup poured over a pat of butter) to-go. I wish I could give this spot 5 stars because it's a vegan coffee shop that's dog friendly and anti-ICE and seems awesome AF. It's also easy to find street parking. But sadly, there were a number of things I was disappointed with. The first thing was that when I got there, I had to pee so badly. But they don't have a bathroom! They say it's because it's a to-go spot, but they have a back patio filled with seating, so that's clearly not the case. Anywhere in LA needs to have a bathroom just based on the fact that someone likely sat in the car for an hour to arrive there. The second thing was my tofu scramble. I got the veggie one and it was as if they thought oil was a veggie (yes fine, it's made from plants, but come on). It was the greasiest thing I've eaten in a long time and I'm a junk food vegan! More veggies and less oil please! The third thing was that I have verizon, and there's like zero cell phone service there. I saw in my phone that they had wifi, but they wouldn't share their password with me. I could have posted on social about them to get them free marketing, but I guess they don't want that? So cute! It's a small location. Their patio in the back is where we ate and forgot to capture it. We dreamed that it could one day be a place to eat at on the patio at night as there were lights but they were off and I think the patio closed in the afternoon. Perfect hangover food too! The biscuits were yummy. We ordered several items to satiate the ferocious appetites and just shared the dishes so we could try a variety. They have water and cups for extra refreshment. We understand running a spot can be overwhelming but let's all hope one day it has longer hours and patio service so you don't have to clean after people's messes before sitting down. Friendly front counter service, no parking lot and no bathrooms. While in the area, I stumbled upon this wonderful not-so-secret Vegan gem in a sleepy residential Glassell Park neighborhood. Little Barn Coffee House is a wonderfully simple and fresh plant-based grab and go spot that offers up some outstanding food and drink items to locals. This small, cozy spot offers window ordering service, where you will meet a wonderfully nice woman who is passionate about her business. I decided to go with one of the house staples: the Biscuit Sandwich, along with a Hashbrown Patty and an Iced Horchata Latte. The restaurant is strictly set up for taking your items to go, however, there are a few spots in the back patio area where you can sit to enjoy your meal and drink with some shaded trees and umbrellas. I was able to score a nice shaded wooden bench area in back with the patio being half full on a Tuesday morning just an hour into opening. When my name was called, I was given my drink first. The Iced Horchata Latte was quite lovely and refreshing. Great flavor, not too sweet, with a perfect dusting of cinnamon on top. Amazing for an already hot morning in Los Angeles. A few minutes later, my name was called again for my sandwich. The young man at the side window was very friendly and welcoming. I grabbed my biscuit sandwich and proceeded to unwrap. Right away, I noticed the flakiness of the biscuit. Hot, delicate to the touch, this was an outstanding baked item. The marinated tofu was also quite delicious, fooling the eyes and the taste buds for those egg lovers. The vegan maple fennel "sausage" was absolutely fantastic. Juicy, tasty and you would have to convince most carnivores that it didn't have parents. The vegan cheddar cheese and house sauce were equally delicious which made the whole sando a solid breakfast delight. Little Barn Coffee House is one of those great hidden gems in Los Angeles. No fuss, no bling (also no WiFi or Bathrooms and limited residential street parking), but provides a complete healthy, quality experience that all locals will know and love. Always love a queer-friendly, fully vegan place! This place opened during the pandemic, so it started as a take-out only place. They have a patio in the back that is nice and chill. We got the Monte Cristo (French toast with vegan bacon and cheese), and a breakfast egg 'n sausage biscuit sando. The biscuit sando was delicious (slightly on the salty side), the Monte Cristo was good...but probably wouldn't order again. The cheese melted into the bread and was basically non-existent. Prices are fairly high (~$30 for two sandwiches...this is where the world is), and there is no bathroom on the premises (with no real option for one, which I understand is a larger question about the accessibility of public restrooms), so that's disappointing. I saw this spot reviewed on TikTok and my love of breakfast biscuits compelled me to drive across LA to try. It's a small, unassuming spot in a residential neighborhood, and had a line when I got there. The service was friendly and the price point was solid for all-vegan offerings. I tried the bacon biscuit with cheese and just egg (it normally comes with tofu, but I subbed vegan egg instead). I was nervous about the bacon because most places never get it crispy enough. Little Barn wins on that front. Though the biscuit was a bit salty for me, in general, it was delicious. The chai tea latte was also good. I am picky with my matcha and that was good matcha. The house sauce was delicious with the sausage biscuit. The pastries were the least favorite. The muffin was too dry and the dry chocolate croissant only had a small slither of chocolate. Good chocolate though. Food here was pretty pricey for the portions but happy that it is 100% vegan so I don't have to worry about modifying the menu and cross contamination. Wow! I was craving a biscuit and this place popped up on my Yelp search and I decided to try it since everything on the menu is vegan. Seating is outdoor, so you just order at the window and pickup when they call your name. Decided on the breakfast biscuit sandwich and an Americano with pistachio flavoring (shout out to the guy taking orders. I love it here! The staff is sweet. I have met the owners who are also lovely! I love the sitting area in the back; atmosphere is chill. My favorite items here are all the pastries made in-house! I've been to the Little Barn a few times now. Finally leaving a much deserved 5-star review. This coffee & breakfast "barn" is an unassuming gem nestled in a quiet LA urban neighborhood. If a yoga camp, a coffee bean, and a plant nursery had a throuple lovechild, that would be the vibe here. 1) It's plant-based and LGBTQ ‍ friendly 2) Serious food and pastry choices, 3) Coffee is flavorful, 4) Staff are friendly and cool, 5) Setting is peaceful and magical under the trees. Parking can be tough. I usually go up and down the street a few times and still can't find a spot. And my cellular reception isn't great here, which sucks when you want to get some work done since they don't offer WiFi. Let me qualify this by saying my family really likes this place. However our last visit there on Saturday was totally unsatisfactory. We ordered two main things, the Monte Cristo, and the Machaca burrito (which was a rainy day special at $10). We also ordered an almond croissant. As it was raining and there was a line we quickly paid what we were asked $42. ouch. Turns out they charged us $18 for the $10 burrito. The 'almond' croissant was $7 and not good at all . Despite the $18! burrito we were charged $.50 extra for salsa if you please. I understand inflation but I'm not thrilled with gouging and 'accidentally' charging 8 bucks extra for a burrito. i suspect we'll be back at some stage but I'm sure we will double check our receipt and not pay a tip for take out food as we did. Tips are for good service and this was anything but. (still have the receipt) thanks for your feedback Celeste. As for the burrito debacle, we discussed it with your man at the window and it was clearly listed by hand on the $10 special page. he even said we were lucky it was the last one, so the misunderstanding was definitely not on our part.
