Not much to say other than I should have come here sooner. This place is such a hidden gem tucked into a corner. Good prices. Delicious hand made noodles. Especially the Vegetable Cold Noodle. I have been on a fiber kick lately and this dish meets all the marks. Delicious tangy sauce, perfectly chewy noodles and lots of crunchy fresh vegetables. I tried the pickled cabbage beef noodle soup and it was good, but I ordered it medium spicy and I thought the oiliness of the chili oil overwhelmed the dish. We also tried the potato cold dish and the tofu skin cold dish; both were good and very flavorful. The beef roll was good too. I felt pretty swollen the next day so I think the food is a little heavy on salt and MSG, but very comforting on a cold and rainy day. No issues with service. The space is small but clean and well lit and the bathroom is clean too so there's that. I am a big fan of their combo which is like a drink and and small side and a bowl of their beef noodle soup. The clear and the the braised broth are both standouts and the onion, cilantro and the chili oil help round everything out. Haven't tried out the lamb broth yet but will do soon. The store had a decent amount of tables and a high top ledge. Staff operated very quick and efficiently. But maybe not thoroughly... I say this because the minute I pull out my chair there was like chopstick wrapper trash, but I wouldn't mind too much but it made me more aware and I saw chili oil stain. Ahhh it would have messed up my pants if I sat down on that. The lady saw me react and move to the other chair but she seemed really unphased by the lacking cleanliness of their establishment. After reviewing their menu, my boyfriend and I both got their Braised Beef Noodle Soup Combo ($20.99), his with the thin noodles and me with my wife noodles. The combo comes with a fried egg or tea egg, a cold dish, and a canned soft drink. We both opted for the tea egg and coke. For the cold dish we got different ones for variety and ended up sharing the cucumber salad and the celery with bean curd. So I really like that they have a cold side dish to provide a contrasting cooling sensation in between the warm soup. At the table we sat at I was able to see the noodle chef hand pulling the noodles. He was making them fresh to order. I was impressed about how quick they were. The noodle was chewy and made to my preference The broth was average, nothing special. The beef was soft and tender, but too much tendon pieces for my liking. The tea egg was sad and basic like a hard boiled egg. It had no tea notes and you can tell from the lacking color it hadn't been soaked too long. The sides were good. I liked the crunchiness of the cucumbers for texture. My boyfriend enjoyed the bean curd since he doesn't often see it being offered. Mixed feelings overall but I really didn't like the dirty chair. The pancake beef wrap is decent, but I've had better at Mama Lu's. There's so many different options for the shapes, my favorite is the prism shape. The soups are so flavorful as well, perfect for the cold winter weather. I also tried the stir fried option and they are very generous in their portion size. Cold dishes are good as well. Basically a hidden spot in the old 99 cent store plaza, but very worth trying. They make your noodles from scratch, after you place your order and you can even watch them make it right in front of you! When they brought the bowl out, I can immediately smell the tantalizing scent of Sichuan peppers. The broth was very comforting w its bold, spicy, and numbing flavor profile. The heat level of the soup is legit spicy and numbing, so if you (yes, you!!) can't tolerate a lot of spice, get the regular beef soup. My mouth was pleasantly on fire which made every bite even more enjoyable because of the heat. The scratch-made wide noodles were soooo good and went well w the soup.
