On a grey day was craving soup noodles and my brother recommended this spot. They have a wide selection of noodle types so you can optimize your experience. I went with the round medium noodles with Spicy LAN noodles. The texture of the noodles had a fresh bouncy texture. The broth spicy as in flavor but not too much heat where your mouth is burning. I'm also pleased with the cold dish of pig ears and pig feet.
What a great place! The noodles are incredibly flavorful and well done. I ordered the L1 LAN Signature Noodles the house special and it did not disappoint. One thing I really loved is the variety of noodle types you can choose from. I went with the wide flat noodles, which were perfect. The dish was packed with flavor, and the noodles themselves were exceptional. Also not to be missed are the smashed cucumbers they're light, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the meal. Some if you are in the neighborhood do yourself a favor and check out LAN. If you want, I can punch it up with more personality or make it shorter for Yelp-style impact.
Satisfied the craving for longevity noodle on this Chinese New Year's day. Came to visit from DTLB, their name kept popping up when searching for Longevity noodles so we went on a little road trip. The noodles are delicious and chewy, the meat tender and the radishes tasty. You can customize the spice level, asked for medium and it hit the spot. The tendon appetizer was good, but probably would like it better at room temperature or slightly warm as opposed to cold. The soup dumplings were OK. Very friendly staff in a no frills fast service restaurant. I would definitely pop in when near by and craving a yummy bowl of beer noodle soup.
LAN Noodle is a no-frills, you know what you're getting into, homey restaurant. Prices also felt more than reasonable for what you get. I was initially skeptical, but we were quickly seated by a very accommodating server and host who constantly checked on us and took care of us from start to finish, quite well. I got the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup with Wide Flat Noodles and it was quite good! Better than expected too. I know, I know, the reluctance is showing, ha. The flavor of the soup wasn't groundbreaking, but it was quite pleasant, light, and I couldn't help but keep sipping, one mouthful after the other. Candidly, I can see myself craving this during a rainy day or when I get sick. The noodles were also chewy, wide, and just hit the spot. Disclaimer: I'm a huge fan of wide flat noodles, and they did a really good job here! Our table also ordered XLB and pan-fried dumplings to share. Both were above average and hit the spot. Overall, if I'm in the area again, I would totally come back again.

It wasn't busy when we first got there but slowly people started walking in. Feels like a homey, no frills restaurant. Parking is available right outside but can get pretty busy.
I thought it was okay. Felt a little rushed because we just sat down and server kept coming to ask what we wanted. I thought the broth was a little on the plain side and the noodle, although super fresh (saw the guy actually pulling the noodles and throwing them into the pot) it wasnt that flavorful. Tea egg was good though. The wide flat noodle is maybe 3 large noodles in the bowl. Also, if you dine in, itll be better to get nonspicy and add your own as the spicy chilli sauce is the same as the one on the table.
OMG! I don't know why I didn't try this place sooner! Their noodles are just WOW. The texture is so amazing, fresh and chewy! I still haven't found a place with that texture of noodles in SoCal yet. I ordered the thinnest noodles, I loved it! I felt like they're understaffed but staff always trying their best to serve people. You couldn't tell it's a couple running the restaurant which reminds me a lot of my parents. I came here on a weekday past 8pm, it was still PACKED. I will definitely come back!

Braised Beef Noodle Soup The broth is clear, light, and clean, simmered for hours with beef bones and aromatics. It's not aggressively salty, not heavy, not greasy. Think soothing rather than punch-you-in-the-face. This is the kind of broth where you take a sip first before touching the noodles. The beef is slow-braised until it's fork-tender, but it still holds shape. Not shredded, not dry, just soft enough to pull apart with chopsticks. Very classic, very traditional. Then you've got cilantro, green onions, daikon, all there to keep things fresh and balanced. Nothing feels random. Every element has a job. Lan Noodle's noodles are hand-pulled Lanzhou-style wheat noodles from Northwestern China, and the big thing is texture. These aren't soft, floppy noodles that disappear the second they hit hot broth. They're springy, elastic, and chewy in a deliberate way. They also offer multiple shapes. Thin, medium, thick, and wide. Each one changes the experience. LOVE the noodles here! The hand-made noodles are FRESH and you can see the staff making them. You can choose what noodle texture you want like if you want thin, chewier, an in-between. I recommend the Beef Braised Noodle Soup and I personally like my noodles chewy so I got their Flat Style Noodles. The broth is super flavorful, and the beef is very tender and soft. Ambiance is fine. The interior and tables were clean. Service was attentive and the food was served RIGHT AWAY. I was actually suspicious considering how fast the food came out haha. But I can't complain because it was tasty. I've eaten here twice and I would come back again to enjoy more noodle soup!
My girlfriend and I were craving noodles after an event in Pasadena and this place happened to be within walking distance from our hotel, which took around ten minutes. There was no wait when we first arrived and the staff seated us immediately. We wanted an appetizer, so we started off with the pork belly with garlic sauce. The pork belly was cooked very well and the garlic complemented each bite perfectly where it wasn't too strong. My main dish was the dry noodles with chicken. I was able to customize my noodles to be wide flat noodles which I haven't had before. The noodles were chewy, the chicken was made very well, although the spice level was a little higher than I expected. I would definitely want to try out the Lanzhou Beef Chow Mein if I ever came back to this area. Definitely worth checking out if you're craving any noodle dishes!
Great place to experience great noodles! The place offers quite minimalist/ simple decor yet, that does not mean food is not good! Dan Dan Noodles came out as I expected, added with my preferred flat noodles makes it super enjoyable, while my husband got Mixed Dry Noodles. This noodle has quite strong taste and quite spicy too! So alert for anyone cannot take spices to avoid this menu. Service was super swift. There is open counter where you see the gentleman shaping & pull the noodle, so cool to me!

In Lanzhou, they even have a color coded system for distinguishing a top bowl of beef noodle soup. The soup should be clear, the radishes crystal white, with bright red chili, jade green cilantro, and yellow noodles. Signature LAN Noodle: The beef is prepared two ways: sliced thin and in little chunks. Either way, the meat is tender and well marbled. You can choose among three round noodles of varying thickness, two flat noodles of different widths, and even a triangular noodle. The hand pulled noodles have a satisfying and springy chew. The broth is well balanced, beefy, and delicious. Dining Area: The dining room has 10 tables and there are two tales outside. Parking: The mini mall has a giant lot.

I like how they have expanded their menu with additional options other than simply noodle options. We tried their pork pan fried dumplings (3/5) since the skin was overpoweringly thick, but the filling was decent. They have a small and large sweet and sour chicken rice plate. I had gotten the small size just to try it out, but it was surprisingly good (5/5). The pork sandwich bun was decent (4/5) since the beef was tasty but the sandwich bun could be better. We also had the traditional beef noodle soups with either the wide flat and triangle ones. You can't go wrong with these freshly made pulled noodles, and they are very hearty portions. Flavor is good and the beef is very tender. The smashed cucumbers were decent also (4/5), but nothing spectacular about them. Service is very quick, attentive and pleasant. This is a good go to spot for a quick meal. The dining room doesn't seat a lot of people so try not to come during busy dining hours on weekends to avoid a long wait. read more

Amazing!! LAN noodle was perfect after attending an event locally. Noodles are made fresh in front of you. The establishment itself is very straightforward. Clean tables and chairs. Service was prompt and friendly. It was so nice to see so many locals coming in and the owners remembering orders and small talk. Prices are more than reasonable. The noodles were AMAZING!!! The broth was so good and same with the meat. The wide flat noodle was much wider than I expected lol. It was like the width of my mouth but still exceptional! I would come back here again!! read more
The service was fast, food is average to my taste. I appreciate the handmade noodles part, but the broth is too plains and salty for me. Overall, the noodle soups are fine but not the best I ever had. We also ordered beef burger, there was no sauce in the burger, buns were too dry to the point when I bited it it hurts my gum. They used beef shank parts as filling but it wasn't shredded to my liking. It was the exact same cut as they used on the noodle soup, which I called it very sloppy work. The beef shank itself it's heavily seasoned with salt as well. So I wouldn't recommend ordering chinese burgers from this place. We came around 8pm, and their closing time was at 9pm. We finished paying our bills at around 8:50, but I was still wrapping my kids bites and crumbs. The waiter first came to collect the credit card receipt from us, then came back again asking if I was done with this as he was pointing to my empty bowl while my mouth was still full from chowing food. I kindly nodded my head and gestured that he can take the bowl. A few seconds later, he came back again and asking if I'm done with my husband's bowl as I was still not done with chowing. Oh come on! I know people wanted to leave work at the end of the day, but back off body, you couldn't wait just for one more minute until we got up from our chair then started to clean up? There are still 5 minutes on the clock, very unprofessional service! Not a kids friendly place since the staffs gave us the dirty look when my kids were acting a bit crazy for the night. They do have high chairs. There is only one bathroom in the back. The wall decoration were helpful to identify what kind of noodles you want to order. But the service we received won't make us wanted to come back ever again. read more
Fresh noodles here at LAN Noodle! Came on a Sunday with plenty of tables around dinner time. You can see them making the noodles through the glass window so you know its fresh. In terms of what I tried I got these. Signature LAN Noodle - Really enjoyed this one. I got it with triangle cut noodles and it was perfect and very flavorful. If you want a lot of the veggies I recommend asking for it on the side! Tasty dish. (4.5/5) Braised Beef Noodles - I tried a bite of this one which we got with the flat fat noodles. Pretty good as well and the braised beef was very flavorful. Delicious. (4/5) Overall, service was a bit slow for our table as the table next to us came 10-20 minutes later and got their food at the exact same time but other then that the food was good. Would be back. Parking - Plenty in a big lot. read more

Honestly a solid spicy beef noodle spot. The hand-pulled noodles gave a unique texture than regular noodles. I went for a late lunch and it hit the spot. Service was good and quick. Lots of parking in the plaza. read more
Came again after many many years for the braised beef soup with wide flat (belt) noodles. Tastes just as good as I remember. Came for Friday lunch and it was less busy as I remember last time for a weekend dinner. Seated immediately and food came out promptly. read more

Lan is one of my favorite noodle spots. Fast, casual, attentive and fairly priced. Parking lot was a tad packed but it didn't matter once we sat down. The order: Shredded potato salad: nice bite to the potato, very subtly sour and just a hint of sweetness Tangy celery: the perfect fresh, tangy and crunchy side dish to contrast the main dishes Mouthwatering chicken: a bit more stripped back than its name implies. it was good but not a must order for me Liang Pi: a very refreshing noodle dish. the noodles are bouncy and mix well with the other flavors and textures. often times the earthiness of bean sprout can be surprisingly overpowering but its flavor is very well combined in this one. Signature Lan noodle: I got the largest round noodle and they had the perfect bite and chew. The broth at Lan is expertly balanced with a depth of flavor which seems to satiate the more you eat. It's bright and dark, light yet rich, sweet and sour, and so on. The blend of spices gives a slow burn without a huge layer of oil on the top like some soups depend on. I needn't say more. In hindsight we probably didn't need this many cold dishes, but all of them satisfied nonetheless. The noodles are unsurprisingly the star of the show here with the veggie appetizers playing a very important supporting role for me. Stellar! I agree with Margaret P., although I wasn't hungover when I dined here ;)- I was driving home from Pasadena and ultimately I selected this restaurant because it was open relatively late on a Sunday evening. The nearly full dining room bode well, aside from the fact that I had bookmarked the place at some point. Service was fast and friendly, and my crushed cucumbers came out looking as fresh and delicious as they tasted. Highly recommended! Up next was the braised beef bowl. Wow, absolutely incredible! I selected the regular pulled noodles and they were perfectly cooked. A little bite and fresh. All-in-all, I'm looking forward to future visits to work around the menu. read more
A huge bowl of beef broth and rippled wide noodles came out shortly after ordering the Lan signature. The sliced beef was tender without being unpleasantly fatty or hampered by tendons. The noodles were a bit uneven in thickness but that's the charm of handmade noodles and it gave a variety of chewy textures. Enjoyed the beef broth that was flavorful but not overly salty. A great place to eat filling noodles. The wide flat noodles are so good and thick. They were so filling. There is a lot of beef in both the braised beef and lan signature noodle. The braised beef had a lot more beef chunks, that were a little harder to chew through than the more thinly sliced lan signature meat. The service is quick and the workers explained each dish very well and gave helpful recommendations. They are quite spicy though. I would recommend getting no spice if you're not good with spice and just add chili oil that's on the table. The worker said its the same chili oil used for the broth in the kitchen. The Lan noodle had a refreshing broth and overall I would definitely get it again. read more
A great beef noodle place that has authentic hand pulled noodles that come in different shapes and sizes. The broth is perfectly seasoned and not super salty. Very satisfying in a clean interior and friendly staff. You can see the noodles being pulled and is fun to watch. We finally got to try this noodle spot after seeing a YouTuber rave about it, and it had been on our list for a while. We all ordered their most popular dishes, and I really appreciated that they make their noodles fresh in-house. You can even see them making it, which is a fun touch. I also liked that you can customize the noodle thickness to your liking. I went for their "super spicy" option, and honestly, it wasn't super spicy to me but it did have a nice kick. Kind of like a good wake-me-up spicy soup... if you're the type who eats spicy for breakfast. Service was nice, the place was clean, everything looked well-organized. That said, while it was a solid experience, I didn't find myself craving it afterward. So, good to try once, but not something I personally miss. read more

I think this place is a gem for noodles. Love that they make it fresh and you can watch it being made to your style in front of your eyes. Their selection is great and I really enjoy their Braised Beef Noodle soup the most with the thickest noodle. Good for a casual date, but ambience is only okay. read more
Came here for lunch. We got their Combo B and C - the Lan Noodle Combo and the Spicy Beef Combo. The highlight of the meal was definitely the noodles. They are fresh made (you can literally see the employee pounding the noodles as you walk into the restaurant). Fresh noodles are bouncier and have a better chew than non fresh ones. Overall - solid spot but the A/C was not on or broken that day so I was sweating a ton. read more
The broth is the star of the show. You can tell it's been slow cooked for hours. The noodles were that perfect fresh chewy consistency. You can see them making the noodles fresh behind the counter. We were seated right away and the place filled up quick. The food came out literally in 5 mins. I inhaled that thing. Beef was tender. The veggies on top were fresh. Being picky but wish the drink selection was better. Their waters also came in small plastic cups and were room temp. Not a vibe. They did what they could with the tables and small place. really delicious noodles. the broth is so simple yet flavorful, noodles chewy and fresh, and meat very tender. came here after a hike in the arcadia mountains and it hit the spot. they have outdoor patio seating so our dogs were able to hang with us :)) read more

Not heated but yes covered, like sidewalk seating for three tables outside so you'd be by parked cars

I had the Lan Original Noodles - Spicy, and there were no numbing peppers in the dish.
Do they still offer outdoor seating? Edit: they have 3 tables outside for outdoor seating!
As of last week they had 3 tables outside and limited tables inside (like 3-4 tables).
