This place is very nice they have lunch specials which makes it a little bit less pricey support small businesses this restaurant has been operating for a while but I know of and they have a couple of signature dishes that I highly recommend to order they can accommodate groups of all sizes they even have separate party room if you would like to reserve larger groups

My family have been coming here ever since it opened almost 15 years ago. The food used to be REALLY REALLY good. The food is still good but a bit more of a hit or miss. For this Lunar New Year, we booked the private room for 2 hours and ordered many dishes. I will highlight the dishes I liked: spicy eggplant, lotus leaf wrapped pork rib with sticky rice (this is one of their specialities), their braised pork (Dung Pao Pork) is famous, Kung pao chicken and I also liked their taro dessert (eight treasure taro dessert). The inside is a bit dated and not your traditional large Chinese restaurant. Service was fine.

We went for late lunch here: sauteed shrimp, xiao Lund bao, stewed beef noodle soup and soybean sauce tilipia. Food came out fine: love the Xiao Lund Bao with just right skin thickness and flavoring of the filling, the beef noodles tasted great, the shrimp very tender. The fish took some use to get used to but soon I loved the sauce. This is a place to get something close to Shanghainese food as most Shanghainese places seem to have closed nowadays.

Interesting Decor!!! First time here and very excited.

I haven't been to this restaurant in awhile. I used to come here more often. The last time I was here, the food did not taste as good as before. I decided to come here again to see if the food tastes better or worst from my last visit. I ordered the following: (1) Shoyu Meat Balls (2) Wine chicken (3) Garlic fish sauce egg plants All three dishes tasted average. Not bad but not particularly good. The wine chicken could use more wine taste. Prices were good. Service was average.

I love coming here for some comfort Chinese food. The food is consistently good and the staff is always friendly. It's a solid go-to for me when I'm craving some Chinese food! I really like their meatballs. Great flavor, comes with some napa cabbage, and pairs really well with some rice. The bean curd stir fry is also one of my favorites (although fyi it's slightly on the oily side). Portion sizes are generous too. I always leave happily stuffed. The staff is super nice and the wait is usually not too long. Def recommend checking this place out!

I think to judge a place based on two dishes isn't fair. But I'm usually one to finish all my food whether I like it or not. And today I didn't finish.... I just couldn't complete. Just came back from my trip to Norfolk Virginia, and I decided rather than going to my usual spot Corner Beef Noodle Soup down in El Monte and Ramona, I decided to check out Changs Garden. 唉... Hear me out the menu looks exciting, I'm sure if I we're to order some Hangzhou style stir fry cuisine, I may be very well impressed, but I decided to go with simplicity. Their beef noodle soup had fairly good feedback, so I went for an order. And of course, might as well order some Xiao Long Bao while I'm at it. Ok. In my honest opinion. I'm not a fan of the noodle soup. I feel, this is what was served by Mr. Dragon 30 years ago in the Hong Kong Supermarket on Colima Rd and Fullerton Ave, and even back then I was never really impressed by Mr Dragon other than from what I remembered...the food was working class and fed single household parents and their children. You get what you pay for. And I think a restaurant in a neighborhood like Arcadia, if you are gonna advertise top notch beef noodle soup, it should live up to a certain level of expectations. The Xiao Long Baos tasted maybe a level better than 99ranch Frozen Xiao Long Bao. So both dishes would not be something I'd come back and order again. I've seen Chang's Garden in this plaza over the decade and just never decided to give it a go. Usually back then, we'd come out here to go to Sin Ba La. But like I said, judging this restaurant based on two dishes isn't fair. And so I'm going to order two more items to go: Beef Rolls, and Sweet Soy sauce chicken stir fry, Chang's Stir Fry, Leeks and Smoked Pork Belly. And maybe give a second opinion the next time I visit.

Chrysanthemum tea and soaked peanuts! Yummy! Loves the kettle.

I had a really nice time here and the food was pretty tasty. The service was good and the servers were nice. I liked that they offered a couple tea options to pick from. I chose chrysanthemum. Although, a tea kettle is not complimentary, it's $5. I really liked their tea pot. I think it was made of iron. It was heavy and really well made. I tried the hot and sour soup. It was delicious with lots of mushroom, bamboo and pork. I tried the sweet lotus and that was pretty good, not too sweet. I always love the chewy texture or lotus. Then I tried the shoyu meatballs. They were huge! And sooo soft! I'd never had a meatball that broke apart like biting into a snowball. I added white pepper abs soy sauce to the soup and meatballs and I enjaules everything. I would return to try other things!

This is one of the quiet old restaurant in town. It has been there quite some time. As asian restaurant, service always swift, we ordered tea and quite amazed with iron tea pot served. sweet and sour pork was while fried fish was stealing the show!I can eat this just with white rice and without anything else. The place design for large number of diner since they have the round table with lazy susan. Will definitely come back for the fish and other dishes to try!

Kung Pao Shrimp, Beef & Chicken

Overall - 9/10 - This has been a restaurant that I have gone to since I was young. They use to be in San Gabriel location before moving here to Arcadia. This is a local restaurant near my parent's place and my hometown. Their food has always been good and they have a great selection of pretty authentic Chinese food for any taste. The restaurant has decent parking because in a plaza with decent parking. It sometimes can get crowded during lunch hours. Food - We ordered a variety of dishes. I love the Pineapple Shrimp. It is similar to the popular Walnut Shrimp dish except that they use pineapple instead of walnuts making it less heavy. I enjoy the thinly bettered shrimp and the light flavor. They don't overly use the mayo. Also, I like kung pao 3 way with the shrimp, chicken, and beef. I love the flavor of the dish and the variety of protein used. The last dish ordered is the spicy black bean fish fillet. It was a nice balance of salty and spicy. It is overall a good dish for those who like fish. Overall all the dishes that we have ordered from here were all pretty good. Overall Experience - This is a Chinese restaurant that I would return to again. It has a wide selection of food and now they have lunch specials and dinner specials 7 days a week.

    Tingling Spicy Fish
    Izzie L.

Oh my gosh... this meal was life-changing. The dishes here are all seasoned so well and have a truly authentic Chinese feel to them. Their lunch special prices are ungodly reasonable and totally worth it. In the multiple times we've been here, I've been able to try: + Tingling Spicy Fish (6/5 - would highly recommend) + On Choy (6/5 - would highly recommend) + Twice Cooked Pork (5/5) + Snow Cabbage fried Peas & Tofu Sheet (6/5 - would highly recommend) I think the majority of my dishes here being a 6/5 speaks for itself. Even the service here is above-and-beyond fast and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking to impress someone! I will be back here many, many times. :)

Food: 10/10 Sautéed Mixed Vegetables were perfectly made. Was a perfect pair with their spicy Szechuan filet fish. The lunch portions were very generous. Service: 10/10 everyone was attentive and food came out quickly. Mom and I were starving and we left happy and satiated. Ambiance: 10/10 we arrived just in time. It was bustling with customers. So happy we came here. This is a wonderful family business and a gem in Arcadia. Their red bean pancake was delicious.

You walk in thinking, "I'll just grab a quick bowl," and suddenly there's a noodle master stretching dough like he's training for the Olympics. Their Lanzhou-style noodles? Fresh, chewy, and honestly a little too good--they'll ruin instant ramen for you forever. The Lan noodle soup is so rich and savory. The died mixed noodle feels like a warm hug... if hugs came with chili oil and a kick that sneaks up on you. It's a small, busy spot, so yeah, you might wait--but don't worry, the line moves fast. Plus, it gives you time to emotionally prepare for choosing your noodle shape. Thin? Wide? Triangle? This is not a decision to take lightly. They have a small and large sweet and sour chicken rice plate. I had gotten the small size just to try it out, but it was surprisingly good (5/5). The pork sandwich bun was decent (4/5) since the beef was tasty but the sandwich bun could be better. We also had the traditional beef noodle soups with either the wide flat and triangle ones. You can't go wrong with these freshly made pulled noodles, and they are very hearty portions. Flavor is good and the beef is very tender. The smashed cucumbers were decent also (4/5), but nothing spectacular about them. Service is very quick, attentive and pleasant. This is a good go to spot for a quick meal. The dining room doesn't seat a lot of people so try not to come during busy dining hours on weekends to avoid a long wait.

While I was eating my food in this establishment several months ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is decent. During peak business hours, you might struggle to find parking, so come early! Each parking spot is a decent size. Not too wide nor too narrow. Food: I ordered the Tokyo tonkotsu shouyu ramen with white garlic and fresh passion fruit tea with rainbow jelly with 25% ice and 25% sweetness. I like that we can customize the sweetness and ice level. Although my drink was supposed to be 25% sweet, it still felt a bit too sweet to me TBH. Thankfully, I just mixed it with water to dilute it. The rainbow jellies were super soft and flavorful. People who know me know that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ramen. I'm a ramen aficionado. Lol The Tokyo tonkotsu shouyu ramen with white garlic ramen contains their signature pork-broth bowl featuring chashu pork, bamboo shoots, wakame, half a marinated egg, nori, corn, and scallion. The thinly sliced chashu pork was tender and juicy. The soft-boiled egg was marinated in a sweet and salty soy-based sauce. Loved the perfectly jammy yolks and deep umami flavor. The bamboo shoots, wakame, nori, corn, and scallion all enhanced the flavor of this dish. The shining star of this dish was obviously the broth. This dish contains a rich and creamy pork bone broth seasoned with umami-packed soy sauce. The white garlic adds a signature sweet, pungent, and toasty aroma that perfectly cuts through the heavy fat of the broth. The ramen was cooked perfectly al dente. Would definitely order this again. This restaurant is located in a small plaza but parking is plenty and the wait is not long for a Saturday afternoon. There is a boba place inside but the drinks doesn't look that great so we didn't order any. The staffs are very nice and the setup inside is pretty unique. We didn't get to sit inside one of the Hexagon pods or the lantern cage table but its ok. The ramen is actually pretty good. The broth has a deep flavor to it and the ramen itself is not bad. It is not spectacular but I would say slightly above average. We ordered Combo B so it came with a lot of extra stuff. The ramen though cannot be exchanged so I got the Sapporo Miso Ramen while my wife got the Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen. We also ordered the Yakitori Platter. While the Ramen are decent, the other dishes are subpar. I am 99% sure the Yakitori was pre-made and just reheated. It has no char flavor at all. I believe some off site kitchen prepped the food and the restaurant just reheated the food. That was the most disappointing part of the meal. The cost of the Yakitori was equivalent to actual Yakitori places so I expected decent quality Yakitori. I think the popcorn chicken is the same. It has no crunch to it at all and it is barely warm. The two desserts are decent. Those can be prepare ahead and won't affect the flavor since they are served chilled. After the meal, one of the bowls actually won a free drink so we'll claim it when we return next time. Overall the meal was decent. I just won't order the appetizers next time. Normally I would just give a 3 star since the Yakitori was a bust but the staffs are very nice so I kept it at 4 stars. The place is also very clean too so I would like to repeat to try other dishes.
