    Thursday dinner JUL2026
    Franklin M.

My mother is visiting from out of town and she loves Chinese food especially the fried rice. There are so many options in the SGV so you have to pick and choose which one to go to. The four of us came here for dinner and ordered kung pao chicken, ten pork dumplings, shrimp fried rice, pot of tea, steamed rice, and red bean pancake for desert. They bring out boiled peanuts for an appetizer which were really good. My mother said this was her favorite place and loved the food. The entire meal with tip cost us 83 bucks.

We were so excited to have our reunion at this restaurant, the menu was amazing, we wanted to order and try so many things. There were so many classic Chinese Shanghainese dishes that's hard to find elsewhere these days. Unfortunately, when we got the dishes, they were just so so. The dishes all tasted fine but either not exactly the right color or the right taste that we'd expect. I think it's fine as an ordinary Chinese restaurant but we were a bit disappointed as we were hoping for the first class Shanghainese cuisine.

My family have been coming here ever since it opened almost 15 years ago. The food used to be REALLY REALLY good. The food is still good but a bit more of a hit or miss. For this Lunar New Year, we booked the private room for 2 hours and ordered many dishes. I will highlight the dishes I liked: spicy eggplant, lotus leaf wrapped pork rib with sticky rice (this is one of their specialities), their braised pork (Dung Pao Pork) is famous, Kung pao chicken and I also liked their taro dessert (eight treasure taro dessert). The inside is a bit dated and not your traditional large Chinese restaurant. Service was fine.

This place is very nice they have lunch specials which makes it a little bit less pricey support small businesses this restaurant has been operating for a while but I know of and they have a couple of signature dishes that I highly recommend to order they can accommodate groups of all sizes they even have separate party room if you would like to reserve larger groups

We went for late lunch here: sauteed shrimp, xiao Lund bao, stewed beef noodle soup and soybean sauce tilipia. Food came out fine: love the Xiao Lund Bao with just right skin thickness and flavoring of the filling, the beef noodles tasted great, the shrimp very tender. The fish took some use to get used to but soon I loved the sauce. This is a place to get something close to Shanghainese food as most Shanghainese places seem to have closed nowadays.

I haven't been to this restaurant in awhile. I used to come here more often. The last time I was here, the food did not taste as good as before. I decided to come here again to see if the food tastes better or worst from my last visit. I ordered the following: (1) Shoyu Meat Balls (2) Wine chicken (3) Garlic fish sauce egg plants All three dishes tasted average. Not bad but not particularly good. The wine chicken could use more wine taste. Prices were good. Service was average.

I love coming here for some comfort Chinese food. The food is consistently good and the staff is always friendly. It's a solid go-to for me when I'm craving some Chinese food! I really like their meatballs. Great flavor, comes with some napa cabbage, and pairs really well with some rice. The bean curd stir fry is also one of my favorites (although fyi it's slightly on the oily side). Portion sizes are generous too. I always leave happily stuffed. The staff is super nice and the wait is usually not too long. Def recommend checking this place out!

Interesting Decor!!! First time here and very excited.

Family oriented, great food and fantastic service. The quality and service made it a great experience and will return. Recommended by a friend.

I think to judge a place based on two dishes isn't fair. But I'm usually one to finish all my food whether I like it or not. And today I didn't finish.... I just couldn't complete. Just came back from my trip to Norfolk Virginia, and I decided rather than going to my usual spot Corner Beef Noodle Soup down in El Monte and Ramona, I decided to check out Changs Garden. 唉... Hear me out the menu looks exciting, I'm sure if I we're to order some Hangzhou style stir fry cuisine, I may be very well impressed, but I decided to go with simplicity. Their beef noodle soup had fairly good feedback, so I went for an order. And of course, might as well order some Xiao Long Bao while I'm at it. Ok. In my honest opinion. I'm not a fan of the noodle soup. I feel, this is what was served by Mr. Dragon 30 years ago in the Hong Kong Supermarket on Colima Rd and Fullerton Ave, and even back then I was never really impressed by Mr Dragon other than from what I remembered...the food was working class and fed single household parents and their children. You get what you pay for. And I think a restaurant in a neighborhood like Arcadia, if you are gonna advertise top notch beef noodle soup, it should live up to a certain level of expectations. The Xiao Long Baos tasted maybe a level better than 99ranch Frozen Xiao Long Bao. So both dishes would not be something I'd come back and order again. I've seen Chang's Garden in this plaza over the decade and just never decided to give it a go. Usually back then, we'd come out here to go to Sin Ba La. But like I said, judging this restaurant based on two dishes isn't fair. And so I'm going to order two more items to go: Beef Rolls, and Sweet Soy sauce chicken stir fry, Chang's Stir Fry, Leeks and Smoked Pork Belly. And maybe give a second opinion the next time I visit.

This is one of the quiet old restaurant in town. It has been there quite some time. As asian restaurant, service always swift, we ordered tea and quite amazed with iron tea pot served. sweet and sour pork was while fried fish was stealing the show!I can eat this just with white rice and without anything else. The place design for large number of diner since they have the round table with lazy susan. Will definitely come back for the fish and other dishes to try!

Overall - 9/10 - This has been a restaurant that I have gone to since I was young. They use to be in San Gabriel location before moving here to Arcadia. This is a local restaurant near my parent's place and my hometown. Their food has always been good and they have a great selection of pretty authentic Chinese food for any taste. The restaurant has decent parking because in a plaza with decent parking. It sometimes can get crowded during lunch hours. Food - We ordered a variety of dishes. I love the Pineapple Shrimp. It is similar to the popular Walnut Shrimp dish except that they use pineapple instead of walnuts making it less heavy. I enjoy the thinly bettered shrimp and the light flavor. They don't overly use the mayo. Also, I like kung pao 3 way with the shrimp, chicken, and beef. I love the flavor of the dish and the variety of protein used. The last dish ordered is the spicy black bean fish fillet. It was a nice balance of salty and spicy. It is overall a good dish for those who like fish. Overall all the dishes that we have ordered from here were all pretty good. Overall Experience - This is a Chinese restaurant that I would return to again. It has a wide selection of food and now they have lunch specials and dinner specials 7 days a week.

Chrysanthemum tea and soaked peanuts! Yummy! Loves the kettle.
    Melinda B.

I had a really nice time here and the food was pretty tasty. The service was good and the servers were nice. I liked that they offered a couple tea options to pick from. I chose chrysanthemum. Although, a tea kettle is not complimentary, it's $5. I really liked their tea pot. I think it was made of iron. It was heavy and really well made. I tried the hot and sour soup. It was delicious with lots of mushroom, bamboo and pork. I tried the sweet lotus and that was pretty good, not too sweet. I always love the chewy texture or lotus. Then I tried the shoyu meatballs. They were huge! And sooo soft! I'd never had a meatball that broke apart like biting into a snowball. I added white pepper abs soy sauce to the soup and meatballs and I enjaules everything. I would return to try other things!

    Tingling Spicy Fish
    Izzie L.

Oh my gosh... this meal was life-changing. The dishes here are all seasoned so well and have a truly authentic Chinese feel to them. Their lunch special prices are ungodly reasonable and totally worth it. In the multiple times we've been here, I've been able to try: + Tingling Spicy Fish (6/5 - would highly recommend) + On Choy (6/5 - would highly recommend) + Twice Cooked Pork (5/5) + Snow Cabbage fried Peas & Tofu Sheet (6/5 - would highly recommend) I think the majority of my dishes here being a 6/5 speaks for itself. Even the service here is above-and-beyond fast and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking to impress someone! I will be back here many, many times. :)

The dry-fried green beans were probably the most dry-fried green beans I've ever had LOL. I loved the blistered, almost charred texture, and they were really flavorful. The wife special noodle was good as well. It reminded me of a cross between tomato egg noodles and dry beef noodles. I really liked the doughy, dense texture of the noodles, although the egg was pretty salty and the beef was a little tough. Overall, it was a solid meal and I'm glad I stopped by, especially after seeing it on the Michelin Guide. That said, the noodles weren't quite as mind-blowing as I expected based on the hype. We ordered the Youpo Noodles with Beef Brisket, Marinated Beef Sandwich, and Cumin Lamb Sandwich. The marinated beef sandwich was the standout. They absolutely nailed the execution, from the tender, flavorful meat to the texture of the bread. I would come back for this alone. It immediately took me back to eating rou jia mo from a street cart while walking around Xi'an, which is about the highest compliment I can give it. The noodles were freshly handmade, wonderfully springy, and completely soaked with flavor. The beef brisket made them even more satisfying. The cumin lamb sandwich was the only item I felt slightly on the fence about. The filling was good, but I personally wanted a little more seasoning and a stronger cumin flavor. The interior is spacious and clean, service was fast and painless, and there is plenty of parking in the lot. First off, the takoyaki octopus balls were full of flavor. I feel that this place does them really well. You don't feel overwhelmed by any seafood tastes and instead, you get well balanced flavor throughout every bite with the combination of the ball itself, the sauces and the flakes on top. Next is the omurice. The egg is cooked to perfection and tastes absolutely amazing. The curry, however, which was recommended by the waiter over the Demi glaze, tasted exactly like the Vermont curry cube you get in the grocery store, so I'm not sure why he recommended that over the Demi glaze. The fried rice within the omurice was alright too. Originally, I wanted to get the tonkatsu omurice but got it on the side as the choice wasn't available for the lunch menu. I would suggest doing without the tonkatsu because it was dry and there's a million and one places that can do tonkatsu better than this place. Honestly, I wish I had the opportunity to cut the omurice myself and choose how much curry I put on it, but the staff did that instead, which I guess made for a good video, but took away from my innate desires to cut the egg on my own haha. Next, the ramen tasted pretty basic like what you could get at any ramen shop. For the chicken wings, I've never had chicken wings in this flavor. They were really really good and I would definitely recommend the wings. For the desserts, I enjoyed both the matcha and the snow globe. I'm not sure what I enjoyed more, however. The snow globe is a gelatin and it doesn't really have too much flavor until you get to the parts with the flower. Plus the little clear balls have a nice flavor and texture. For the matcha, it has an interesting texture and then an interestingly light, yet deep matcha flavor. Oh the drinks. The Thai tea tastes exactly like how it does everywhere else. The amazing lemonade is a lemonade with a few slight modifications, like with cucumber and maybe some other things as well. For the service, it's pretty good here. Everyone is pretty attentive. There are three things at the table, such as cayenne pepper and two other bowls you can add to your dishes to add flavor. I forgot the name of the one I liked but it looked kind of like pork floss or loose tea, and that one had a lot of flavor. I think what's most appealing about this place is the ambiance because you can like sit in a honeycomb, there's fancy designs everywhere and you feel like you're in a different place. I think it's a good restaurant but it's kind of weird how some things here are amazing and some are just okay.

When the tomato egg noodle arrived, I was surprised by how little the sauce was compared to the amount of noodles, probably 2 tablespoons of sauce on top of the noodles and a few shredded cucumber. The cold jelly, according to the pictures, supposed to have some shredded bean curd and beans on top but again there was a few shredded cucumber on top of it and that was it. So I ask the server why the food looks different from the picture and she just answered "That's just how it is". Based on the amount of food we got, everything was overpriced. From my understanding this place was Michelin rated in 2021, I'm not sure how they got it, but quality definitely was not like that when they were rated. While I was paying, I saw the worker took out some frozen meat and placed them on the floor. - I mean are you serious ? ? I don't usually leave for reviews, but what they did really made me concerned about the food safety there and I want people to know. I'm sorry, but I don't think I will come back.

Usually get the Gizzard (#2) or the Braised Pork (#3). Portions are huge and if you're not feeling super hungry, this can definitely work as 2 meals. There's also toppings such as green onion, cilantro, etc that are self served. Other reviews say soup can get pretty spicy, but it's not too bad. This is coming from someone who has a very low spicy tolerance. Noodles are as cheap as $11 straight up with no tax charged. They're mainly a cash business but also accept Zelle. We usually get to go so they already prep it in a to go container. Heard they usually charge extra if you ask for a to go container separately? Overall this place is my definition of comfort food. You can call your order in ahead of time if you don't want to wait. It's also nice to grab some Milk Tea at the vendor next door to balance out the oil and spice from the soup.

What's so special about their noodles? Let me tell you, they are very special. Simple soup bowls with rice noodles that don't stick together, topped with good portions of protein choice primarily beef flank, braised pork, pork intestine, pork trotter (aka pig's feet), crispy pork, or chicken gizzard, plus roasted peanuts and your condiments of choice. I chose #3 Braised Pork Rice Noodle and #9 Crispy Pork Rice Noodles Signature to-go. OMG, I was super surprised by the soup savoriness and flavorfulness. SO GOOD! The noodles were a generous amount and you can slurp them very easily. Pork portion and size were more than adequate. VERY TASTY! The roasted peanuts were great tasting... it brought back some nostalgia... nice addition to the bowl! They have a condiment station (red hot chili, hot chili oil, spicy pickled daikon, spicy pickled cabbage, spicy green onions, green onions, cilantro) where you can get as much as you would like for your bowl. Do you see a trend? Lots of spicy condiments! Staff ladies were really friendly and nice. They didn't speak much English. I just pointed to the items I wanted. Prices were very reasonable... $11 - $15 per bowl. Payment options are cash or Zelle only. Funny, I didn't have enough cash on me so I left to go to the bank to get cash. They didn't start making my order until I returned. It wasn't an issue because it literally took them a few minutes to make the bowls. Wait time was nothing. Restaurant front was clean. Shared seating is available inside the President Square Food Court. Free parking at the President Square in Arcadia. Highly recommend Mojie Noodle! #1 Guilin Style Rice Noodles is their top seller. Too bad I don't eat beef anymore otherwise I would get it. I hope they add fish to their bowls in the future. I'll be back to dine-in for more tasty rice noodle bowls even if I stick with pork or I might even try their chicken gizzards.
