We had reservations for 6 last night for 8:30pm. At 9:00 we were still not seated, female manager/owner? was extremely rude and argumentative about what the delay was. The host explained that open table had taken into account the outside tables that were unusable due to the weather and she noticed when she came in a 4 that no one had altered the settings in open table despite the rain and cold being in the news all week. The owner told us "no, that wasn't the reason, it was just sitters costing her money." And she said reservations are just a place in line not a time to sit. She offered free drinks to stand outside, no room inside to wait. We called Table and Main, they squeezed us in and we had an amazing dinner and time not at 1920. As we walked away from 1920, the obnoxious girl at the host stand made an offensive, rude remark. 1920- you are now on our small, but permanent list of places to never go or recommend. We have so many awesome choices in Roswell and Alpharetta, not to mention ITP, you may need to rethink your approach to communication and customer service! read more

This place is excellent. Great location in downtown Roswell for people watching on their patio. They have live music and karaoke nights, but you can ask for the back room if you want a more quiet meal or have kids. The Caprese Sandwich has a light and flakey bread that makes it perfect with the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. The "chips" for the fish and chips are very good and house made. The Tomato Bouquet was just added and is my new favorite. It's a large heirloom tomato that's been gutted and is stuffed with mixed greens and mimosa dressing. They serve it on a plate drizzled with balsamic glaze and sprinkled with candied nuts and berries that all balance the dish out well. Also, you need to try the chocolate truffle torte! It's so good you wanna buy two, you wanna take them home, put on some mood lighting, and romantic music and hope they make babies! While the food is top notch, the staff makes the place worth the trip. We highly recommend them! read more

First I'm not sure why they claim this place have a Speakeasy style when all we could hear was EDM music blasted superloud only covered by the screams of people next to us trying to speak through the music... The owners had this weird thing of touching your back or shoulders while enquiring if we were ok, personally I don't think you should physically touch your customers unless you know them. The green tomatoes were good, my girlfriend had the veggie pastas which were ok but burnt on one side, I had the burger: it was super dry, over cooked (I asked medium rare), had maybe two mushrooms dueling and absolutely no taste. We ended with a chocolate cake sold to us as super chocolaty, well no it was not. With two glass of wine for a total of 100$ this is not even overpriced but pretty outrageous. SHRIMP LOVERS BEWARE before you order: We came here once before & enjoyed this place si we came back. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits and I ordered the fried oysters. Both of us had the iceberg lettuce salad with blue cheese. Salads were excellent and the croutons are made fresh. My fried oysters were some of the best I've ever had; A nice coating instead of so much breading or cornmeal that you can't find the oysters! There were six of them. I'm small woman, so the number of oysters was ok for me although I could've eaten a few more. I really think for the price that eight would've been a more reasonable portion. But the REAL SHOCKER was my husband's shrimp & grits. As soon as they put the dish in front of him we almost laughed out loud. We thought it was a mistake because there were ONLY THREE SHRIMP in the dish. We called over the waiter and asked if there had been a mistake. The waiter disappeared for a minute then came back with the shocking response that the entree only comes with three shrimp! Now these were NOT large shrimp. We loved INC and decided to try Opulent out the other day at 3:00 in the afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner while out and about. I remember walking into this place before it opened almost a year ago and I was so confused about where INC had gone but intrigued at the same time because everything was so shiny, all the lights were on and things were in order to open soon. It looked swanky. But when we stepped foot into Opulent, about 9 months after their opening, everything looked kind of dirty, not swanky, bright and shiny as I had recalled in my mind. The smoky antiqued mirrors were cool but they were covered in writings, not sure what, in marker. I know INC had graffiti but writings on the mirrors were kind of tacky and not "opulent". In the afternoon, if you are sitting in a booth that faces the street, be prepared to keep your sunglasses on. It was blinding and I could only see a dark shadow for my husband so we moved to the bar. The back room was an option and certainly not as bright but there was a table of 6 cackling elderly women so we were happy to sit at the bar. My husband was intrigued by Opulent's featured cocktail "Smoky Rose" with bourbon, mint, pineapple and wood chips but he wanted it without pineapple juice. The bartender, who seemed to lack in the personality department, basically said there was no point in ordering it without the pineapple juice. My husband said he really likes bourbon and mint and was intrigued by the wood chip aspect but the bartender said it's there for "people who don't normally drink and need something sweet." Damn it, just give the man what he wants! He's a veteran bourbon drinker and I think he can handle some freaking wood chips if he wants them! But her monotone voice and her lack of enthusiasm made us think that we were bothering her... the only people at the bar. So he ordered a bourbon from their menu and I ordered a glass of wine. We started with the Pork Belly appetizer and it was good but not outstanding. We always take our time when dining out and it kind of bothered me that our bartender just took our appetizer away silently while we were chatting and there was still plenty left over... what if we wanted to take it home? We both ordered the same entree- the salmon with black eye peas, green beans, butternut squash and a demi glace. The salmon was cooked to our specifications, medium rare, so I'll give Opulent bonus points for that. But the meal was lacking salt and flavor and I had that moment where I wish I had ordered a burger or sandwich because those aren't really hard to mess up. And that's sad to wish you had ordered a sloppy sandwich when you want something sophisticated. Since we were basically the only people dining at 3:00, there were about 3 servers with nothing to do but stand at the end of the bar and share videos on their phones and laugh. This bothered me and was distracting. Go into the kitchen to do that or the bathroom or find some work to do. So in conclusion, I wouldn't eat here again. MAYBE I'd go back for their wine selection and extensive bourbon selection and hope for another bartender and go when it's dark and then maybe everything will seem more "opulent". But there are far better places to go. read more

I was torn between 2 or 3 stars here. Food was ok, but it was Alive after 5 so it was a little crazy and we ended up waiting about an hour for our 7 pm reservation. We were able to wander around on Canton St while we waited. When we got seated, service was a little slow. Our drinks were delivered as we were finishing dinner, and my order wasn't brought correctly. The biggest issue I had was that there is only 1 bathroom! Need less to say, the line was long and I waited over 15 minutes inline while my dinner got cold. I was disappointed because I was looking forward to a fun and yummy evening. One other suggestion for 1920 would be to have the person who calls to confirm our reservation let us know that Alive after 5 is going on so that we can plan extra time to get there. And find parking. When we called them worried we might be a few minutes late for our reservation we were told that if we were more than 15 minutes late we will lose our reservation. And then it took them about an hour to seat us. Disappointed. read more

I was in with 3 of my friends on Friday. Vanessa was a GREAT waitress. She was very friendly. The hamburgers didn't come out exactly how we ordered them, but Vanessa took them back right away to get our order right! Handle your reservation situation. Had a reservation for 7:45 and got sat 50 minutes later. Told it would be 2 minutes when we arrived while they cleaned off the table. That was the first lie amongst several that would come. Watched people who arrived 30 minutes after us get sat. Once I told them how long we waited, a table magically appeared. Getting a drink from the bartenders was a futile. It takes about 15 minutes to get their attention. Another 15 to get an order after they say they'll be with you in 2 minutes. Opulent is now in my top 3 restaurants in Roswell. The menu is completely different than Inc., but it is delicious and I found most options were very healthy and they use local farms for a lot of their food, so that's always a plus!!! My husband and I had the quinoa salad and it was so good. Interesting mix of quinoa, tangerines, goat cheese and I think arugula with a light lemony fresh tasting dressing. Dinner for me was the salmon sashimi and it was TOP quality and my husband had the salmon dinner which was also delicious and on top of freshly cooked black eyed peas. Great wine selection and reasonable prices compared to a lot of other places in the vicinity. The service was great and the place added booths, which was much needed. I came in Saturday night with my girlfriend. We really liked the ambiance of the place right from the start. Our service was OK. Some of the food we saw walking past our tables looked amazing. When we asked what the dish was and found out it was the nights special we were disappointed that we hadn't been told about it before we placed our order. Luckily the food we did order came out delicious! Chef James came out to our table while he was there he gave us a great recommendation on our dessert.
