1933 Lounge is a sister restaurant to St. Elmo's located at the Fishers District. St. Ellis is located in downtown Indy and both locations are known for their shrimp cocktail appetizer. We made reservations for 1:30 pm and arrived about 15 minutes early and they seated us almost immediately. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated in the outdoor patio. I started with the Navy Bean Soup: white beans carrots and a bit of bacon. The soup was very hearty and savory. I ordered the salmon for my entrée. The salmon was prepared medium and served with a remoulade sauce on the side. The salmon was cooked to perfection and really needed no sauce. The mashed potatoes were prepared with the skins in them and could have very well served two people. Overall, this was a great dining experience. read more

Near perfect date night experience at 1933 for our first time! We were seated immediately on a Monday evening at our scheduled time. The inside decor is very dark, but romantic. Our waitress was so kind and quick! We had a key lime martini and the Coke & Whiskey from the cocktail menus. The martini was just enough sweet and sour! We ordered lobster bisque that was really tasty and had chunks of lobster. We also ordered the waygu burger and the grouper sandwich. Probably one of the best grouper sandwiches I have ever had! Visited 1933 Lounge on my wedding anniversary! It's a great place for a date night. It's dimly lit and I like that it's only for 21+. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. We started off sitting at a very small table and was asked if we wanted to move to a bigger table given that we ordered so much food! For drinks, I ordered the Pop's Old Fashioned. It was not as strong as I'd like, but that's personal preference. The cherry made it sweet and refreshing! I sipped it during the entire meal and it was enjoyable. We ordered the chargrilled artichoke, herb butter baguette, and Izzy roll for appetizers. If you like to take your time pulling apart the artichoke piece by piece, then order it! I do find it enjoyable, but if you're really hungry, this isn't the appetizer for you. The baguette is only enough for 2 people (or 1 depending on your appetite). The Izzy roll which has Alaskan crab was quite disappointing. For the price, it's not quite worth it and maybe my palette isn't as refined as others, but it tasted similar to a California roll but for 2-3x the price. We ordered the Ribeye with béarnaise sauce and a side of crème corn brûlée. We also ordered a Cesar salad and heirloom rainbow carrots. The corn brûlée was a bit too sweet for me, but it was still good! Ribeye was cooked to our liking and the béarnaise sauce was a nice accompaniment. It's a fantastic blend of St. Elmo's and Harry and Izzy's with a few twists. Our anniversary is on January 1st, but we were worn out this year and wanted to stay home. So we decided that we were both grown adults and could celebrate next week. I'm so glad we did. We had a fantastic meal with Sarh, our cocktailer/server. The food was delicious, and the staff at 1933 were very kind about finding options that worked for my wife with her Celiac allergy. We had a nice meal and great conversation. Susan says that for those with gluten or food allergies, HC Tavern will provide more options than she's found at St. Elmo's, Harry and Izzy's, and 1933. But our meal was excellent, our service was phenomenal, and it's never a bad night when you spend it with your wife and best friend. If you want a cool atmosphere, great food, and great service, give 1933 a try. If you go to the one in Fishers, ask for Sarah, she'll take great care of you! We came in from out of town for the big basketball game and wanted to go someplace good on Sunday. We were very fortunate to come to the 1933 Lounge. We split a shrimp cocktail and thought it was worth the hype. Our steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. It's not just that the food was great, it's a nice space and it was just a fun evening. The shrimp tempura sushi special of the night almost killed me (exaggerating) but I did have problems with it. The seaweed was like trying to chew a rubber band and I almost choked on it. My sisters and I visited for our annual Christmas brunch, and we had an absolute TIME! Our server was efficient, friendly, attentive, and fun. The food was delicious as always, and we loved the variety of menu options available. We visited early in the day, and while we had a reservation, there was plenty of prime seating available. But the big surprise standout were the Oysters Rockefeller, the most delicious we have had anywhere. They simply took my steak back and cooked it to medium. How they did it I dunno... microwave? Back on the grill/oven? But I still didn't finish it. Just didn't taste right. We visited on a Tuesday evening and every table was full... impressive! This top-notch steakhouse is the sister restaurant to St. Elmo's, at a *slightly* more affordable price point. While it's still pricey, the food, atmosphere, and service were incredibly impressive. Our server was so friendly and quick, and everyone in the restaurant was dressed up and on their game. I ordered the Long Island steak salad and it was phenomenal. It had "USDA Prime Strip, peppered bacon locally sourced from Smoking Goose, heirloom tomatoes, bleu cheese crumbles, avocado, pickled red onions, deviled eggs, citrus horseradish vinaigrette." A quality, perfectly-cooked, juicy steak plus a full salad for $24 felt reasonable. My husband got the wagyu steakburger and loved it too. Again, you're paying for the quality of the ingredients here, and in my opinion, worth it here. Despite it being chilly when we visited, they have a big outdoor patio that will be amazing during warm weather. This restaurant is located in The Yard and therefore in walking distance of a lot of other fun breweries and restaurants, so you could make a night of it. I'd recommend getting reservations in advance, especially if you plan to visit on a weekend! read more

Holy cow - my friends and I were blown away. We came for devour (fyi their devour lunch menu is actually their regular lunch menu yay!). I had the French Dip (as recommended by our server) and my husband had the Executive with the Wagyu and Fried Shrimp sliders, and the fries and shrimp cocktail (3 pieces) that it comes with. The French Dip was so good! My friend who also ordered it was also blown away. I had my cooked medium and his medium rare. But either way, both were equally delicious. My husband liked the Fried Shrimp slider more than the Wagyu Beef. And as always, the shrimp cocktail - phenomenal. I love their cocktail sauce so much I always buy a bottle at the store. We haven't had the chance to visit St Elmo downtown, but after the experience we had, my husband and I booked a reservation for our wedding anniversary in March (their reservations are always so full so we planned way ahead). Loooove this place. The service, the ambiance (feels like an old speakeasy), the drinks, the food - all fantastic. If you like whisky or bourbon, definitely try their signature cocktail, the Elmo Cola - straight from the downtown Indianapolis St. Elmo's location. I'm obsessed. They even bottled their bourbon and sell it in stores. You can safely bet that I have a constant supply in stock at my house. If you like spicy and/or horseradish, then you should also definitely try the shrimp cocktail appetizer. Woof - so spicy, but so good. Again, this is straight from the downtown Indianapolis St. Elmo's location. A lovely appetizer. The steak is also obviously amazing. I never need more than 8 ounces of steak in one sitting, but because it's so fantastic, I've found myself ordering the 12 ounce steak on occasion. Delicious and always cooked perfectly! I also love their crème corn brûlée - a fabulous combination of salty and sweet, which is my favorite. Definitely give that a try. Also, their lunch specials are a great deal, and the food is (once again) amazing. I love the filet sliders, macaroni and cheese... and don't judge... but I also love their ranch. We enjoyed another great dining experience at 1933 Lounge. On our recent visit -- 4:15 pm reservation on a Thursday -- we ended up sitting in the outdoor space. We were originally seated at a high top table adjacent to the the bar where servers retrieve completed cocktail orders. Between the high traffic from servers (plus the loud soda gun getting repeated use by bartenders) and the loud music overhead, we requested a different table and were obliged by the hostess. Our server, Kendra, was very attentive and courteous. We shared the seafood tower (small), grilled salmon entrée and roasted cauliflower shareable side -- enjoyed it all! You can get better wine and bourbon across the street for 70% less. We waited 55 minutes for a table only to see a table given to people who walked in and grabbed it. The staff was accommodating to my requests, sat us at a good table (earlier than our reservation) and had no issues with us bringing in balloons, decorations and cake. My husband and I had a 4:00 reservation. We were warmly greeted and seated in the enclosed patio area. Quickly, we met our waiter, Brandon. He was very attentive and knowledgeable. To start, my husband ordered the wedge salad and I had the burrata tomato salad. They both were fresh and full of flavor. For dinner we had the 8oz filet Oscar style. WOW!! The filets were cooked perfectly to medium. I wish I had taken pictures because everything was outstanding. We had leftovers to take home and we decided to take dessert, as well. I took my mother for dinner. I ordered the prime rib and it was so tough that I couldn't cut it. The waitress noticed and got the manager. The manager asked what else would I like, so I asked for the filet mignon. My mom finished her dinner by the time I received my steak. They were sure to charge me and not comp my meal.
