Really fun new addition to south tampas dining scene. We decided to check it out last minute and were so pleased we did. Valet up front or self parking on the side streets. Fresh and bright inside with a lovely scent (think edition vibes). Big bar in the middle and plenty of booths and tables all around. We started with cocktails (both very good) and their local beer & cider menu is also on point. True to its "glamorous sports bar vibe" it has big screen tvs all around and super high up so no one standing near the bar will block. Our server Ebony was FANTASTIC; she took the time to explain some highlights of the menu and tell us about not only her preferences but what she has seen be popular. The table next to us had wings and a flatbread that both looked delicious. We had the nachos with chicken to start. Nachos were a super generous portion and perfectly portioned and topped. For mains we split the smash burger with a side of the zucchini fries. The smash burger was delicious. Genuinely delicious. Creamy American, perfectly shredded lettuce, cold crispy tomato and pickle. Not at all greasy and the bun was fresh. The zucchini fries were also 10/10. Lightly battered, super hot and fresh and very tasty. Would get everything again for sure. Went there to watch the Masters and looks like a great layout. The food was just ok, nothing great. The service while sitting at the outside bar with friends was terrible. The girl working made us feel like we were not there. Not only was she not attentive, she was not paying attention the needs of other patrons as well. Food was average/ subpar at best. Ambiance was amazing, loved the arcade and green spaces especially for toddlers. Service was a mixed bag. Our waitress was great, there were a lot of wait staff milling around. I left with an overall negative experience, when we were at the green area with our kids, we kept getting dirty looks you know from the type of people that look at you for bringing kids out? I really wanted to enjoy this place because it's cute and close to home; but honestly it missed the mark on all fronts. To start, my friend inquired about a table for 3 and was told that they were full with no opportunity to be added to the list even though they had reservations open online. That aside, we were able to sit at the open bar seating which was fine by us. As many reviewers mentioned, the service is very slow. When our drinks finally arrived (a rose, margarita, and Bloody Mary) none of them were up to par. The rose was very clearly some type of sweet white wine (not sure why the server didn't catch that before coming to the table) and the margarita and Bloody Mary were just bad. Since the service was slow, it took awhile to notify staff for replacements. Our server was very nice but it was odd that she didn't catch bringing a white wine, a sparkling rose, and finally a flat rose all to the same person. Regarding food, everything was underwhelming. The smash burger was pretty thick (looked good to me; but probably not great for someone expecting a true smash burger), the quiche plate was hot (but the quiche was not), and the steak hash bowl didn't come with hollandaise as listed on the menu (they brought out a side but should've kept it because it had no flavor) and the steak was overly salted whereas the potatoes lacked seasoning. There are definitely some things they need to work out. Server was not very knowledgeable. She didn't know they had a drink menu and wasn't sure how to use the iPad so our drinks were sent to the wrong bar. When they were finally located and delivered they were warm and wasn't offered to be remade even after asking for a cup of ice for them. Food took a while to be delivered and wrong food was delivered to wrong tables. Space was tight by the kitchen and food was delivered to other tables by being carried over our heads which we did not appreciate. Food was okay. Zucchini fries were good, but again took a while. Cuban sandwich was okay. Definitely had better around town. Asian chicken salad made into a wrap was good. Breakfast flatbread was huge and quite good. Roasted chicken entree was good. We came here with a bachelor group of 12, expecting a fun time, and it was a huge disappointment. The groom is 27 years old and presented a valid government-issued ID, yet the staff refused to serve him with no clear explanation. What made it worse was the attitude--staff were rude, dismissive, and told him "pass it along, buddy" instead of handling the situation professionally. No effort to clarify, no respect, just poor customer service. If you're planning a group outing or looking to have a good time, I'd strongly recommend going somewhere else. Arrived at 7:45 for Thursday night football, Giants/Eagles 8:20 Kick. Service was delightful, prompt, but not overbearing. I had the wings, which were good, not great. They were out of many of their draft beer selections, but apparently the keg guys didn't show up. Where things went from 4* to 3 * happened at 9:50 PM where TVs showing the game went black. There were at least 20 people watching the game and visibly annoyed. One TV remained on, so if you were really flexible you could contort your body from your seat to see that one. We asked our server about the game and she understood our frustration, but the problem remained. 20 minutes later the game came back on, but at that point I had closed out and was ready to go. TLDR-If you are a sports bar, stay open when there is a huge game on. read more

The food? Pretty standard sports-bar fare. All fine. We didn't come here expecting Michelin stars; we came because they were promoting the fights on Instagram. What a let-down. The fights were on the TVs, but the speakers were blasting music. When we asked servers/bartenders about switching the audio, we were told "corporate controls the TVs and speakers". Odd, since this is a brand-new, independently owned restaurant that had no issue flipping channels and playing game commentary for college football earlier in the day. How are you not sharing audio for a fight you're advertising! And sure enough, partway through the main event, the music suddenly cut out and the fight commentary came on. So, I guess either "corporate" finally decided to come around (at midnight) or maybe the excuse was just never true. Bottom-line: Average food, misleading hype. Finally, highly recommend the peach cobbler for dessert. Also the best I've had in years. The service was also on point. The server was consistently refilling drinks and asking if we had any needs. Really cool looking bar with a lots of tv's. However, I came here for the Canelo vs. Crawford fight since they had been promoting it online. When the fight finally started, instead of putting on the commentary, the restaurant kept blasting music (at one point even playing Fergalicious) over the speakers. Even after I asked multiple workers to help me on this issue. It completely drowned out the fight audio and made it really hard to enjoy what I came for. If you're going to advertise a big fight, it'd be nice to actually play the sound so guests can experience it properly. read more

It's as if everything that is coming out of the kitchen is "Sysco" and not cooked from fresh. For such a nice place with great potential, I would STRONGLY recommend they start cooking from fresh. For example the potatoe hash and waffle fries are clearly from frozen and are dead simple to create from fresh. We ordered cocktails and mine arrived with flat soda. When I told our server the soda was flat and asked for it to be remade, his response was to ask me if I just wanted the same thing again. Lol, try fixing the soda. Apps were good. We had the pretzels and Philly eggrolls. Entrees were just the opposite. We had the smashburger, chicken Alfredo, and chicken tender tower. The burger was fine. The Alfredo was not Alfredo. In fact, I'm not sure what kind of sauce that was. It was quite terrible. My son ate a couple bites and the server never thought to ask why he wasn't eating his food. The chicken tenders were not better than something you could make at home ex. Tyson tenders and the sauces were interesting. You would think since they let you choose five sauces, something would be good. Went here with group to watch the games. The setup was nice with a bunch of TVs to watch any game. The food was decent, not great, but decent enough to gather a 4 star review if the overall experience was good. Where things went wrong started when our reservation was delayed by 30 minutes. They had a table open but stated it was for another reservation despite us being there half an hour. They also stated they needed to roll some silverware and clean the table. Finally, they attempted to seat is about 150 ft from the outside dining area where it looked like the employees took their cigarette breaks. We politely declined and eventually were seated. It seemed like it was our waiter's first day on the job. He was very timid and spend what seemed like a half an hour fiddling with his iPad. Our interval between placing orders was too long for a waiter who maybe had 3-4 tables. Was her terrible, no, was he efficient, also no! Our bill was $320 for a table of 4 for entrees, 2 appetizers, 6 drinks, and 4 shots. That's not absurd given what you'd expect from an upscale sports bar! However, we could have also gone down the street, saved $100, got the same quality of food, and much better service! The icing on the cake is when it took another 15 minutes to get our check b/c as you would guess our waiter was fiddling with his IPad trying to figure out the bill. The place was not necessarily busy, should have been a good sign for fast service, but apparently it meant the opposite. I think I saw a tumbleweed roll by before my food showed up. This was a place we were excited about. I am very confused because I thought it was going to be an 80s bar. Very 90s. Maybe geared towards the generation born in the 80s? Music was good, mostly 90s alternative. Food was mediocre and the menu was confusing. Is it sushi? Is it a sports bar? A steak house? We waited an HOUR for lunch. We got a turkey sandwich and a taco salad. The manager came up one time and made the excuse they were busy.... We were at the bar. It was not full. The dining room was not full. No one was playing games and the patio had more tables open than not. The manager did not offer to make it right. I am honestly appalled that my bill was $83 for a lunch that took over hour to get our food and over 2 hours to sit down, eat and pay for. Cooks English kitchen is by far a better lunch. Visited 1983 this past Saturday and it was a disappointment. Aside from inflated prices, the food was pretty good, but we were hassled by the staff for staying longer than 2 hours. They promote watching the college football games, but limit you to two hours? We were continually ordering food and beverages, but that didnt matter. If you dont want to cater to at the football watching crowd, then why have all of those TVs at every table? Sporting events last more than 2 hours... Why are you marketing yourself to the sports watching crowd, but then pull this nonsense? Overpriced food and drink combined with bad attitude is not a recipe for success. read more
