Came to this place after it was recommended on an Audi forum and I needed a critical repair ASAP and I don't live here. Luis is very knowledgable and knows what he's doing. All his staff (except Kenneth Tran) are very courteous and respectful. They send you pictures of your car as soon as you bring it in so you have evidence of the condition it's in when you drop it off. They also send you updates/photos during the repair so you don't have to question if they REALLY did the work they claimed. The only thing I would change about this shop is getting rid of the front desk guy, as his attitude towards customers is really combative and rude--and he's never worked as a technician so he doesn't know what he's talking about when he 'recommends' things you need. read more

My timing chain skipped, engine needed to be rebuilt and I was 500 miles away from home, and 100 miles from the closest shop that would touch my Audi B8 '12 A4. I checked reviews and importantly, the audizine forums, and found 1st Stop Autohaus came highly recommended by the Houston Audi Owner's group. I have NEVER had a better automotive experience. Their quoted repair was so fair I almost felt nervous; you know the feeling.. like I was going to get slammed with upcharges, delays, etc. Nope!!! Dropped off my wife's 2016 VW Beetle on Saturday just before closing, with an explanation of the problems it was having. Their first guess was the wheel speed sensor. Got the call Monday morning that Luis and his team confirmed that it was indeed a bad wheel speed sensor and the price to get it replaced. We were able to pick it up later that same day. They also found a bad oil drain plug washer causing an oil leak, which I forgot to mention was a problem after a recent oil change elsewhere. They replaced the washer on the house. Terrific service and price, which will ensure we bring the Beetle back if there is ever a problem. I had my car towed all the way across town and didn't care at this point....Not only did they do this list of stuff I wanted done but did it at a price that made me say yessss!! They jumped on it quick on top of that. I went to an Audi dealership to diagnose my car. They fixed something and the CEL came back. Brought it here and they made the entire process easy and great. The dealership ended up misdiagnosing my car and they fixed it here, they also did some other recommended service I needed and did an excellent job. After I got my car back, one of the systems needed to be calibrated which they told me I would need to do before they did the work, but they ended up helping me and taking care of that as well! They are truly some incredible people here. Shout-out to Kennedy and Luis because they are amazing people to work with. I am very happy. I had an issue trying to diagnose a noise on my B8 S4. My normal mechanic said it could be control arms or motor mounts. I was told they both needed to be replaced. I was quoted $1,400.00 for the motor mounts alone. Luis at 1st Stop Autohaus quoted $1,100 which was less than 2 or 3 more local places I called. Then I brought the vehicle to him and he said the motor mounts were fine. He said it was the control arms. I had them replace those as well as the front brakes. Out the door it was $1,099.00. So he didn't replace something that wasn't needed, I ended up paying less than I had expected and the noise is gone. I'll be back for sure. read more

1st Stop is awesome, honestly. They are proof that decent honest auto mechanics exist. Luis is the best. My car went into Limp mode and it scared the crap out of me. I was worried I killed my transmission, I did not know what happened. I reached out thru Facebook told them my issue and they said no problem we can fix that, bring it in! I was able to get there just a few hours later. Nice and clean in the main office, polite receptionist gathered my info and showed me to a very clean, decent sized waiting room with comfortable seating, TV and free refreshments while you wait as well as a small window so you can watch them work if you want. Did not wait too long for my car to get looked at, considering I was a walk-in appointment. Maybe 30 minutes. Once it was in, they diagnosed it super quick and knew immediately what was wrong. It wasn't my transmission, it was a rather simple fix. The manager, Luis, explained to me what caused the issue, what needed to be done, and my options going forward. He made me feel like my car was in good hands, his focus was more on customer service based, and he also didn't try to price gouge me or sell me things I don't need. They replaced my plugs and coils, both of which I was lucky they had in stock! When it was pulled out of the garage, they told me that they put the original coils and plugs back in the new boxes and labeled the coils so I knew which were the bad ones. THAT was a very nice detail. Price was fair and competitive. Compared to other shops, this one was an amazing value. They definitely take pride in their business and I know they have a true passion for cars in general. To top it all off, my car is running just like it did when I first bought it, good as new! So great to have had such a pleasant experience dealing with something extremely stressful and concerning. 1st Stop is my only stop when I need a mechanic! read more

If I would've gone with 1st stop autohaus, I would've poured nearly $7,000 down the drain to replace working parts and STILL ENDED UP WITH ALL THE SAME PROBLEMS. I brought my car to get any issues checked out and repaired due to a check engine light. They told me a $125 diagnostic fee would be charged for the time their technicians would inspect the vehicle and then "tell me EVERYTHING they found wrong with it". They then said that if I did decide to do any work from the diagnostic, that $125 would be applied to the services. They had me then write down any concerns I had in particular on a single line of paper. After several days, they said that the only things wrong with it were the two to three things I had specifically mentioned. Not only that, but everything I mentioned was "completely broken and needed to be replaced" quoting me nearly $7,000. No pressure testing, no dye test for leaks, nothing. Just a drive down the street and a peek under the hood. They also cleared the codes before even checking them, completely failing to quote me on the one faulty part that was causing the check engine light in the first place (since the light didn't come back after they cleared the codes so they had no clue what was causing the issue). Maybe if they checked the codes before clearing them, they might've gotten a clue. Then, they told me the $125 diagnostic fee wouldn't apply towards any of the services less than $300 since they were more of a "routine maintenance", despite them being part of the diagnostics. Not only that but my "routine maintenance" oil change (which was due) was nowhere to be found on the "diagnostic". Basically the $125 could only be used for the expensive repairs, not the cheap ones (despite what they said at the start). I took my car to a different shop where they told my they would have to pressure test and leak test before doing any work. Come to find out NONE of the repairs that 1st stop autohaus had "diagnosed" my car with even needed to be done. The only thing that was on their diagnostic that actually needed to be fixed was the one part that I HAD TO REMIND THEM TO PUT ON, because they failed to read the codes to discover it was faulty before clearing them. If I would've gone with 1st stop autohaus, I would've poured nearly $7,000 down the drain to replace working parts and STILL ENDED UP WITH ALL THE SAME PROBLEMS. The owner explained that even though they charge $125 for a diagnostic, they can't waste their technician's time looking around for problems with the car. At best, your car will get around an hour to be checked out, so they really only investigate the concerns you write down. If you don't know what is the issue with your car, don't take it here. They'll give you a good glance under the hood and make up some problem based on what they see. It's like going to the doctor for knee pain and having him diagnose you with a total knee replacement without even taking x-rays. Complete scam artist shop. I'm sure they take down the bad reviews though, so I doubt this will even stay up. Beware! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND AVOID THIS SHOP. read more

I brought my mkvi 2.5l golf to Luis yesterday and was very happy with everything! I found his business here on yelp after finally deciding to cut ties with the dealership. I am more than pleased with this decision. I called two days ago asking about availability and he said he could take care of all of the work (CV boots, brakes, brake fluid, and oil change) the next day. I got there as he opened and then he drove me to work, which was awesome. Throughout the day he was texting me photos of the car and keeping me updated on what he thought needed to be done as well as what he thought did not need to be done.
