This is an awesome place for business lunches as it rarely gets crowded during the days, it is easy to get in and out and be back to the office. The menu is packed with a contemporary offerings of signature entrees with influences from Spain. The property is gorgeous with great views of the ocean and LEGOLAND (sometimes the noise from here can be a bit distracting though). Wine Wednesday is a total deal for those looking to stretch their dollars. Bottles of their wine are half off, so bring a friend or two !!! Nice hotel but my restaurant experience was pretty poor. Hostess was not friendly and also sat both a party of 2 and a party of 6 ahead of my party of 3 even though I told her we were in a rush. Granted, we only had to wait a few minutes more but it made it so that their orders were ahead of ours. Once we were seated, it took over ten minutes to get a waiter's attention just to take our order. To top it off, the waffles I had were honestly terrible - dense and dry. Would've been inedible if not for the whip cream and syrup. Go to the Sheraton next door if you're staying at the Westin and need a bite to eat. read more

Hi i'm 14 and pretty picky so here's my review: Friends were staying here so we decided to go. appetizers... lobster risotto was yum, cheeseboard was ok didn't love the cheese options, ceviche was great loved the plantain chips. i got the grilled bass which was kinda salty and the mushroom risotto was undercooked but the pesto'y sauce was delish. tried the steak was tender and great. had a very unique dessert menu and got the guava creme brûlée with fresh berries it was perfect. the service was also great we were a big party and they were very attentive to allergies and keeping our water full etc. read more

My family went to 20|Twenty for their Mother's Day brunch. The food and service were excellent, but a bit on the pricey side. My problem is that they did not honor a 20% off promotion if you check-in on Yelp. We did the Yelp check-in and showed a manager as he came around checking in with all of the customers. Turns out that they do not honor the 20% off promotion on special occasions, even though there is absolutely nothing on the promotion page mentioning any exclusions. The manager never mentioned this exclusion, and we only found out after our server told us they couldn't honor the promotion when he brought our bill. With a nearly $600 bill, that 20% would have been a big help. read more

I really wanted to like this place. My bridesmaids planned my bachelorette dinner here. We got there and we're seated right away, but we were there for a while waiting for our server to come take our order. And when our order was taken it took more than 40 minutes for our food to arrive. And even then, the steaks came out first before the fish dishes which you would think would be the last. It would have been fine if the food was good, but everything was really salty. One persons veggies were cold. Another had their steak burnt. My sea bass was dry. At that point we just ate because we were so hungry after waiting so long. And when we tried to address this with the server, they told us that was how the food was cooked. It was not a good experience and we didn't like the tone our server addressed our issues. It was suppose to be a nice dinner out with my bridesmaids and they put a lot of thought in choosing this restaurant. We did get to speak to the manager and she was very professional about it and apologetic for our experience. And we were very grateful for her compensating some of the bill. But the damage was done and for it to happen for an important dinner didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. read more

Years ago, I had brunch at this establishment. I had such a good time, that, years later (today) I wanted to patronize the restaurant again. I can't begin to express how disappointed I was with the cleanliness (or lack there of) and (on top of that) the absence of concern for the dirty conditions. Aside from being served a dessert liquor after asking for a cocktail, I was served a carafe of orange juice that had a rim which was soiled with old wine. After sending it back and asking for new juice, I was either served the exact same carafe I sent back or a different one that was equally as dirty. This wouldn't normally be an issue. However, when the correct cocktail was finally served, it had a fly in it. (The waitress actually saw it whilst she was setting it down, yet did nothing about it.) When the bartender/manager was made aware of the issue, they were completely apathetic and said "oh well, it happens sometimes." I wouldn't dine here unless you enjoy risking a stomach viruses. It's disheartening seeing how this beautiful restaurant has let themselves go because of a lackluster staff. read more

Excellent experience at the restaurant thanks to Allie! She took the time explaining the restaurant's best dishes, making sure every item from appetizer to entree was delicious, and was very friendly and accommodating. I mentioned the Oslo Bucco was tasty but a bit cold, Allie was so kind, offering to change my entree multiple times without me asking. When I told her it's okay, she went above and beyond to treat me to a complimentary cheese plate to make things right. Easily one of the highlights of my trip. Thanks Allie! read more

This hotel bar/ restaurant is located inside the Westin along Grand Pacific Dr. near Lego-land. We came here for HH (7 days a week from 4-6pm), but were bummed that we would only get 1/2 off starters. Well, our main mission was to imbibe, so we straight pivoted to that specialty cocktail menu! They had a decent list of 9 choices, most ranging from $11-12. They seem to utilize very well known spirits such as Grey Goose, Buffalo Trace, and Maker's Mark, but it was pleasant to see a local distillery, Malahat Spirits, as well. There weren't very many mezcal/ tequila specialties; mostly vodka and bourbon. Nonetheless, I like my cocktails dainty and mild (not dry), so the *Lavender Blossom Fizz* was a perfect little sipper with floral notes to delight the senses, but with a fizz that everyone desires. The added touch of edible flowers made for a nicely presented drink. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very keen to check in on us every so often. Not a bad choice for drinks! As for food, I cannot comment but they do serve breakfast, brunch, and dinner. If their food is just as delightful as their drinks, I warrant it is worth a try. read more

There are a few other times that I've been to Twenty/20 prior to this evening, but that was five years ago. Tonight I came by for some good food.. and I was definitely impressed in a good way the same as when I came long time ago. ;-) My server this evening was Ricky, and he was a great server which showed from beginning to end as he acknowledged our presence upon first greeting that he would be right back and at the end with his recommendation of finishing the drinks outside on the patio after paying. It was a lovely evening to be outdoors after eating inside. For the order tonight I tried the Twenty/20 Pisco Sour which was a nice cocktail from presentation to taste with the perfect blend. As for my second cocktail I stuck to Pisco and created my own. My appetizer of the evening was the shishito peppers which were freshly cooked warm with a hint of sea salt, and it comes with spicy romesco sauce. I loved that it was not too spicy because I'm weak with spices, so it was pretty good as I've had some bad shishito peppers.. so happy this was worth it. Next was the flatbread which was the wild mushroom flatbread and this was mouthwatering with its softness and crispy crunch topped with fontina, roasted red peppers, arugula, and truffle oil with bacon added on at an extra charge. This was my favorite item of the evening!! And then I tried the prime rib.. This comes with potatoes au gratin! This order is a part of their Sunday evening special (5:30-10:30pm) and starts at $20, however I opted for larger portions it will costs more, but still a good deal. It had a good amount of fat on the edges, but the meat was moist and tender dipped into the succulent au jus sauce. It paired well with the potatoes au gratin which was rich and creamy so good! The server then brought out complimentary bread fresh from the oven that comes with herb butter which added more to me feeling super stuffed! In conclusion, I would recommend this spot for a nice, upscale meal with fine service where you pay for what you get. This is a great restaurant for special occasions and worth every penny. Came here for brunch on a Tuesday. Maybe that's not the best day to come. The property has the most horrible parking situation I've ever seen. Every spot is blocked with a parking cone, while lot is blocked with a van so you can pull in. All with empty spots inside. Sat and waited for valet for 10 mins and no one came out. Waited for a host to seat us for 10 mins with a reservation. Waited another 10 mins for our server to come out and take an order. We tried to order drinks but the bar isn't open for another hour, even though there are people sitting there talking to an employee behind the bar. No wonder why thing huge space is empty. The restaurant must be near a pool because it smells like a swimming pool when you walk in. I won't be back. read more

Pros: (1) valet attendants were very professional and timely. (2) outdoor seating was lovely Cons: where do I begin... We were seated around 7:50pm. Our order was taken around 8pm. We had ordered hummus and ceviche for appetizers. It took over 1 hour for our appetizers to get to our table. Our waitress was very sweet and appeared concerned that the wait time was so long but never acknowledged it. I understand the main course taking a while, but hummus and ceviche?? Aren't those pre-made the day of and ready to go? We thought maybe the kitchen was understaffed or extremely busy, however, those around us that were seated 20-30 min after us got their appetizer & entrees earlier than we did. We didn't even get anything complicated. We also ordered filet mignon, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, and truffle mac. Out of everything, I'd say the filet mignon was the worst. The top of the meat was burned. I could smell the charred-ness before I even tasted it. The Brussels sprouts were alright (a little too crispy). The truffle mac was laying in a soup of cheese (too much milk?). For what we paid, I expected AT LEAST a decent meal. Didn't want to get anyone in trouble at the moment but it surely ruined a birthday dinner. If you're going to visit, only come for the drinks and atmosphere. We love coming here when we stay in the hotel. This morning was interesting as unprepared hangry visitors came with their rude, bad attitudes. The servers, we could tell were all hustling to help the customers. Managers and even souse chefs were helping to deliver meals. When you see an establishment where "all hands are on deck," you know there is care and work being delivered. I'm thankful that even after a pandemic, new protocol and policy mandates, and rude unforgiving visitors that the employees who are serving maintained a kind, gracious, and warm attitude. things started badly. had trouble figuring out the parking and wound up having to hike a bit but since the evening and the company were both lovely, i guess that wasn't much of a hardship -- plus, since the wife and i were dazed and confused, you can't discount "pilot error" for our challenges. they're doing some major remodeling and getting there turned out to be unusually difficult. being a hard-time-coloring-inside-the-lines kinda guy, we took a short cut thru the construction zone much to the distress of the hostess. her feathers were seriously ruffled and she let us know in no uncertain terms she was unhappy with us. i really don't like "one-star reviews" because an entitled YELPer wasn't treated in the worshipful manner they feel they so rightfully deserve and only mention it because of what happened after we finished our meal. while we were eating, i noticed the hostess giving somebody else some grief and ran into the gentleman (well dressed and staying at the resort) half of the couple in the men's room as we were leaving. i casually asked if he found the hostess as challenging as we did and he totally went off referring to her as "the table NAZI" -- so it wasn't just me (or us). fortunately, our server was a delight -- she was engaging, helpful and attentive and ALMOST compensated for the table NAZI part of the evening's experience. we got there early enough for HAPPY HOUR (ok, that's kinda the point of date night so our ETA was not exactly spontaneous). the wife-unit ordered a PINK HALO (hanger 1 mandarin blossom vodka, chambord, sparkling wine) and it was pretty good and i had their MAPLE BACON BOURBON (knob creek - TWENTY/20 selected single barrel bourbon, bacon infused maple syrup and candied bacon garnish) which turned out, not surprisingly, to be too sweet. gave up and ordered a DIRTY MARTINI which was just ok. the CALAMARI FRIES (charred lemon and chipotle aioli) tasted fine but had a seriously limp, slightly rubbery texture. i know there's a joke in there about stuffing your face with something that flaccid but i'm going to pass. A PIG's DATE flatbread (coachella valley medjool dates, prosciutto, jalapeño, brie, garlic oil and micro arugula) was ok. i'm a pizza minimalist but even for me this needed a little more punch. the TWENTY/20 SIGNATURE CHIPS and BACON-ONION DIP were a great drinking snack. the CRISPY PORK BELLY (spicy carrot puree, salsa verde, pickled onion, pickled chili) was a delight -- i mean how far wrong can you go with pork belly? desert was an unqualified disaster. each of the selection of thick-skinned (yeah, i know, that's alarming all by itself) panna cottas had the flavor and texture of wall paste only chewier. there were different combinations of rice krispy treats, brownie bites, fudges, fruits and nuts mixed in none of which worked. when our server asked for feedback on the deserts (and we were much kinder than i just was), she took it off our bill -- that's pretty much the only reason TWENTY/20 got a third star. before i forget, several tables around us ordered the CRIPSY CAULIFLOWER (bang bang sauce and green onion) and everybody was raving out it. read more

I have stayed at the Sheraton Carlsbad many times this year and come to Twenty/20 for the food, particularly breakfast and dinner. Great ambience and the food is really tasty overall. My favorite breakfast item is Greek yogurt parfait with honey. They make it and decorate it so well that I can never forget it. Dinner is pretty good with many options too. Only con is their wait times in the morning for breakfast. Since this is the restaurant next to a very popular hotel and adjacent to legoland, it gets a big crowd of families and have to wait in line to get your turn. Otherwise, very good place overall for the food and the service once seated inside. read more

What a little gem 20/Twenty turned out to be! We were looking for an upscale (but not pretentious) place to celebrate with a quick cocktail and nosh for our friend's birthday post workday in Carlsbad. Yes, it's inside the Westin hotel, but it wasn't your typical 'hotel' vibe. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival by the valet staff and informed that valet parking was complimentary. Nice touch. Every staff member we encountered was attentive and helpful. The menu isn't a maze to navigate, just great selections, and did I mention the view? Lovely. There are craft cocktails and a nice wine list, and our Bartenders patiently guided us with each of the drink and menu selections. Their stellar customer service was extended to surprise our Birthday gal with a complimentary, luscious dessert! I highly recommend the Charcuterie Board and the Truffle fries to share if you're not having an entree. 20/twenty, a little gem indeed! We'll be back:) read more

The ambiance is very classy with elegant booths and a beautiful back lit bar. The outdoor seating looked nice too and there was a fancy fire pit on top of a modern fountain. I had a delicious sea bass and the other sides were all good as well. My only note would be that this should be marked as 3 dollar signs. They have small plates that are less but they truly are small. Unless you are only looking for a snack you will want an entree. The chicken may be less but all the fish entrees are $30+ and the steak is $50+ A little pricier than we expected, but the food was delicious. read more

I find myself too often eating at the restaurant inside the hotel I'm staying, typically without great results but then I remembered they I have award winning talents of being too lazy to leave the hotel. 20|Twenty was a pleasant surprise, I have no data to support this, but it has to be because they have both the number (20) and the spelling of the number (20) to really enforce the branding which also translated into the service which was amazing. Our server Scott was great, he sold us on the steak and sea bass specials using his mystical powers of telling us the specials were steak and sea bass. Food was pretty good, highlight actually was the oysters and the free dessert, in-house made strawberry ice cream, that Scott hooked up for our daughter's birthday. My favorite restaurant in Carlsbad, primarily due to Chef Levine, and his creations. Coming from LA we have a number of great restaurants but none that have a burger as good as 20 20's. I don't know what they do to their bacon but it's everything. Loved the tuna tartare as well; and the scallop was unbelievably fresh, and seared perfectly. Don't be detoured by the location & that it's in a hotel, they have fire pits outside where you can relax and have a nice glass of wine. read more

First time coming here for dinner and won't be visiting again. The service and ambience were good, but the food unfortunately was not. The beef short ribs were too salty, the filet mignon tasted okay but was more medium than the medium rare we requested, the broccolini side was bland and undercooked, and the potato mash side had an odd, almost "fake"-tasting flavor/texture. Not worth the price--you can get much better quality for less elsewhere. read more
