Great and fast service every time we've been in. The servers are professional and friendly, and the bartenders are genuinely fun to chat with. The menu has a lot to choose from, and everything we've ordered has been tasty and cooked just right. Highly recommend!

My friends and I came here for Sunday brunch. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and we were seated in a quiet private area. We were a little disappointed that the lunch menu was not offered on a Sunday, so we settled for brunch. I ordered an omelette with poblano, mushroom, and spinach. The order came with a side of roasted potatoes and toast. I was pleased with my dish. The food quality was very good, but service was extremely slow. It took our server over 30 minutes to finally take our orders. We were a party of 8, which wasn't too big. Food for everyone came out at a decent time; however, they must've forgotten my dish because I had to wait a good 10 minutes while my friends already received their food. The server never refilled our water cups and it took forever for him to bring our check.

TLDR: clean, casual spot conveniently located inside the Westin Carlsbad, decent service, indoor/outdoor seating. Dinner and most breakfast items are average and overpriced, but the build-your-own omelette is surprisingly good and worth ordering. We stayed at the Westin and found this restaurant right downstairs, which was super convenient, especially since we had breakfast vouchers from the hotel ($22 per person). The space is clean, airy, and has a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff were friendly, though service varied depending on who you got. We stopped by for some light bites one evening and ordered fries, crab cakes, and drinks. Fries were very average, 2/5, and crab cakes were big, just not memorable. Drinks were fine, nothing stood out. For breakfast, day one was a bit disappointing. I had the All-American breakfast, which came with eggs, meat, roasted potatoes, and toast, small portions, and pricey for what you get (2.5/5). My husband's waffle was nearly $20 and just okay, though the jam and granola with yogurt were nice touches. Day two, we both ordered the build-your-own omelette, and that turned things around; it was fresh, flavorful, and much more satisfying. If you eat here, skip the basics and go straight for the omelette.

We opted for the outdoor seating area which offers a nice nearby-ocean breeze compare to the strong AC blasting indoor. Service was slow for breakfast but it could be just our table as I saw others were served much faster than us. Our son's cereal and milk which I wouldn't think need much time to prepare were served after we had already gotten our food. For our food, we got the following: Portobello egg Benedict (4/5)- love that they have this option available for those who do not want English muffins/bread. The eggs were made to perfection and we really liked the flavor earthy of the mushroom and nice balance from the spinach. They could use a bit less oil though... the dish comes with roasted potato which wasn't bad but nothing to rave about. Lox & Bagel (1.5/5) - highly disappointed when the bagel came out. It was nicely assembled but that was it. It was served on a huge plate with just half a bagel and salmon (lox) and fixing on top. Nothing else. We appreciate the generous portion of the lọx but the bagel itself was terrible - my husband called it "hard as a rock" when he took his first bite. We had a hard time cutting it into smaller pieces to eat. It was barely toasted and the bread itself looks like it's undercooked and is extremely dense. I wish they serve it with some veggies on the side, for the meal balance and also the presentation. For our morning elixirs, my husband got the Green Monster (4/5) and I got the Kale-ifornia (5/5) Both are great drinks to start our day. I love my Kale-ifornia, earthy, clean and ends with a kick at the end with the gingery note after each sip. It has a juice consistency, while the Green Monster is more of a smoothie. Unfortunately Green Monster came out warm so that kind of killed the vibe and the taste. It would be 5/5 if it was cold. Also keep in mind they only offer coffee when we were there for breakfast, no latte or cappuccino. We had breakfast at 7 Mile kitchen next door the day before and they did offer other coffee drinks so it was another disappointment with 20|Twenty.

We were staying across the parking lot at another hotel, but went each night for a nightcap. Kristina made the best drinks I have ever had, an espresso martini & a drink she created herself that she called "Pillow talk". Would definitely go back anytime we are in San Diego

Ambience is super super modern, fancy and appealing to the eye. The food was absolutely delicious although it took a lot longer than expected it was totally worth the wait!!! The bullseye steak was sooo good it was one of the best steaks I've ever had juicy, thick, crispy, yummy in my tummy. The mash also absolutely delicious, makes me hungry all over again just thinking about it!! This was my families and I first time but Will definitely be back soon, we have to try there breakfast too! To mention they have free parking right across with a ton of parking very convenient!

Jacob was our server, and he was fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. Later, Kaitlyn brought out our butter cake, and what started as a quick interaction turned into one of those unexpected conversations that give you a different perspective and refresh that we all need every once in a while. The food was just as impressive. We started with the Spinach & Artichoke Dip, which was the perfect appetizer. For dinner, we ordered the Center Cut Filet, Cha Cha's Spicy Rigatoni, and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and something we'd happily order again. If you're thinking about dessert, do yourself a favor and order the butter cake. It absolutely lives up to the hype. What stood out most, though, was the people. Working in a restaurant can be overstimulating and exhausting. Everyone we interacted with was kind and welcoming. It's easy to enjoy a great meal, but it's the people who make you want to come back. From the service to the food to the atmosphere, the entire team is doing an incredible job. I love that everything is intended to be shared so you can try a little bit of everything. FOOD REVIEW: * Cornbread - strawberry, basil, goat cheese, balsamic. Absolutely delectable, moist and flavorful with every bite. * Prawn - ember roasted, prickly pear, mezcal, candied habanero. Literally so good, fresh and full of flavor. * Tomato - smoked blue cheese, piquillo pepper, meyer lemon, opal basil. Very fresh and great for summertime but nothing you can't make at home if I'm being honest. * Broccoli - chermoula, lime, peanut. This was unbelievably amazing and not your typical broccoli. I'm sure even those who don't like broccoli would enjoy this. * Crudo yellowfin - aji amarillo, charred avocado, guava. Omg, I loved this and could have eaten the entire plate by myself. The aji was just enough without being overpowering. * Pork belly smoked - stinging nettle, snap pea, wasabi. Once again, another amazing dish. It had that melt in your mouth kind of texture and was so smooth but not spicy. * Octopus - smoked celery root, spanish chorizo, basil chimichurri. Really amazing & tender + it was recommended from our server since "you can't just get good octopus anywhere" and I 100% agree! They have a fairly extensive drink menu as well with lots of delicious options. I will say their espresso martini is especially pleasant and isn't too sweet. There's street parking in the front or a bigger parking lot in the back area. The place is not air conditioned so keep that in mind if visiting during hotter months. I'm not from the area but I'm already dreaming of the next time I can visit.

I've heard a lot of good things about this place so I wanted to give it a shot. Managed to get a reservation, we arrived 10 minutes early and ended up at the bar for 5 min waiting on our table. The atmosphere here is pretty cool. A very rustic feel. Tables are far enough apart that you can hold a conversation. Ordered the corn bread, crudo, ribeye along with a couple drinks. - Corn bread. Good. A bit dry. The butter was not quite strong enough. Could have done with a bit of honey or something on it. Something a bit thicker. Still above average. - Crudo - amazing. Just simply amazing. We loved everything about it. The guava taste was unique and the sauce was thick enough to not be overpowered by the yellowtail. - Ribeye - Good, but nothing special. The charred outside had a since flavor. The chimichurri hit the spot. - Potato side for the ribeye didn't show up even though we ordered it. - Cheesecake was solid. Food was above average but not WOW except for the crudo. The service needs work. Server did not put in our potato side dish so it didn't come in time for the meal. Drinks were not refilled on time. We sometimes couldn't find a server to help us when we needed little things. Then when we did manage to run one down it took forever to get something. Overall, this place is a cool concept. I'd give it a 4 for food and a 3 for service.

My seat still looked out and had had a great view so same view just more comfortable. I got the beet and peach salad. It didn't really have a dressing but instead came on a bed of caramelized yogurt which acted as the flavor vehicle. It was also topped with frisse, sesame, za'atar, granola and mint. The peach was a nice surprise as it added a nice sweetness, freshness, and texture, I liked when I got a bite of mint, it brightened up the dish. Very unique and different. I also got the house made pastrami Ruben. It came with gruyere cheese, sauerkraut, kimchee, thousand island dressing on rye. The rye was nicely grilled which made it crispy. The pastrami was also grilled which brought out a more salty profile. The kimchee stood out and was a great pairing with the pastrami, it added some spiciness and that fermented funk that you get with sauerkraut. Over all a great sandwich I just wish there was more pastrami. I had the choice of salad or fries but since I got the beet and peach salad I opted for the fries. The fries were triple cooked and came with a truffle ketchup. The fries were cold and I didn't care for the truffle ketchup, I'd ask for aioli next time. Ember & Rye is located on the 18th hole of the Aviara golf course, There's free parking out front but seems like it could fill up during more busy times, like nights or weekends. You can see the touches of creativity from Richard Blais in the dishes. I did see a 3 course prefix menu for $40 which woulda been cheaper than my 2 choices but I wanted to try the pastrami. That's probably the way to go.

His attention was impeccable, professional, warm, and perfectly coordinated. He was always present at exactly the right moment without ever being intrusive, carefully attending to every detail and making us feel genuinely well cared for. The quality of the food was extraordinary, but Brian's hospitality elevated the entire experience to another level. At a time when people often speak only about the establishments themselves, I believe it is equally important to recognize the individuals who make it possible for an evening to become an unforgettable memory. Whether it's a business dinner, a friend visiting, happy hour, date night, or simply stopping in for a nightcap, they always deliver. It's such a warm and welcoming place. Huge kudos to their entire team, who never cease to amaze me with how genuinely great they are at hospitality. We've dined here 20+ times, and not once have we questioned the service. When we bring guests, they make us feel so proud to have such a gem right in our neighborhood. And don't even get me started on the food. Of course, the steaks are fantastic, but their appetizers and other entrées are just as worthy of attention. We've tried pretty much every non-steak item on the menu, and we've never been disappointed. The lobster is a particular favorite of ours--so fresh, juicy, and perfectly cooked. I love that they even shell it for us and put it back together, making it so much easier to enjoy without the mess. Our usual favorites are the hamachi crudo, Parker rolls, lobster, and truffle creamed spinach. Those are the dishes we find ourselves ordering again and again. And the bartenders deserve a special shoutout too. They're always so polite, friendly, and welcoming. We actually love sitting at the bar--not only for the food and drinks, but for the people-watching and the occasional conversation with the bartenders. It adds another layer to the whole experience. After 20+ visits, I think that says something. There are plenty of great restaurants, but the ones that make you feel like a regular, take care of your guests, and consistently make you want to come back are truly special. Rare Society is one of those places. We're pretty lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood.

Despite so many glowing reviews, I feel obligated to share the positive and negative here…read more Positive: We made a reservation for happy hour for three people. It was honored on time. Negative: On arrival we were told we could only be seated at the bar itself (full) or at high tops outside in 90 degree weather. This is the first time we've ever been relegated as happy hour guests. We did nicely request a table inside which we got, but were told the happy hour menu was not available to us. Restaurant at 5pm was nearly empty. Positive: Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was patient as we took a bit to decide what to have. Negative: There was a lot of "have you decided yet?" returns. Clearly he'd wanted to turn the table. Positive: The food was very well prepared. Filet mignon was tender and flavorful (though I doubt it was a full portion and two of us had to share it). Negative: Everything is à la carte, and mains - like our steak - were served on completely bare plates. Not even a garnish for presentation. Lamb chop "lollipops" served in a bowl. Just tacky. The side of creamed spinach was more cream than spinach, and for a side billed as a sharing portion it was small. Positive: Once our meal started we were not rushed. Atmosphere is a bit dark but fine for this kind of steakhouse. The crème brûlée was lovely... Sorry, no desire to return to this pricey spot.

We had a fantastic service with our server Carmella who was very knowledgeable of the menu and so friendly! She explained a lot of options for my vegan diet and accommodated my request. My pasta penne checca was great , but my 2 friends had the Cioppino and they said it was bland... but we all had a great time with the overall experience! I wanna repeat the service was outstanding and the ambience was great!!

She greeted us with a big smile and checked us in our reservation. We were seated in the outside patio overlooking the beach. It was a beautiful view. The server came to greet us right away. He ask what we wanted to drink and afterwards told us the special menu for the night. First we started with the appetizers. We had the Fritto di Calamari e gamberretti and the Carpaccio di manzo. The calamari and rock shrimp were soft and crunchy. The batter was flavorful but subtle and the marinara sauce tied it altogether. We loved the filet mignon carpaccio. It was tender and rich. The cheese, capers and arugula provided a great balance to this dish. For our entree, we had the spaghetti portofino, Pappardelle con funghi e Capesente and Cappellaci di Manzo. When our food came we could not believe how huge their portions are. One entree is equal to 2 entrees and it makes sense because the price is up there. The Portofino, had huge amount variety of seafood and the scallop and jumbo prawn stood out which was placed on top of the dish. Wish they did have more spaghetti, but we were happy with it. All the seafood was cooked perfectly. Soft and tender and the pesto sauce was more like a little bit of marinara and pesto. The Parpadelle was cooked with just the right texture and the different types mushroom had full of Umami flavors. You can tell they make their own pasta. The 2 huge scallops in the sides were cooked just right, tender and just delicious! This was to die for. The Carpellaci was amazing!!! The hat-pasta was full of braised prime short rib and the porcini cream sauce with aged asiago and black truffles really excelled this dish. The sauce was creamy and just bursting with great flavors. All of these dishes were outstanding!!! Ofcourse none of us finished our entree. We were stuffed half way. We were not disappointed!!! We had plenty of leftovers. Also the bus boy and the servers really took care of us. Our water was always filled up. At the end they served my hubby with a birthday cannoli with a candle. We all got a taste of his birthday dessert and wow this cannoli is fantastic. It's a great way to end the evening! If you're heading to Carlsbad, this place is a wonderful restaurant to spend a special occasion or a celebration to the end of your vacation.
