My husband and I recently stayed at the Westin in Carlsbad for four nights and ate breakfast each day at the 20TWENTY restaurant. The food was very good but the best part was our server, Henry. He remembered us each morning even though they were incredibly busy and was always smiling which really helped to start our days off great! He also made great recommendations, was kind and efficient. We had a couple of very minor issues but he immediately corrected them even though we were ok with letting it go. This place is really nice looking. It's too bad the food and service are not the same. Our server was not positive and did not follow up nearly enough. Not very friendly either. I asked for parmesan cheese for our noodles and I got a little silver holder with about two tablespoons (for a party of 6!). It was not offered when the meal was served. Had to keep asking for water refills. Got the bill wrong twice until they got it correct (over charging). Food was adequate. The best thing was the warm bread. That was great. The salad was adequate. The meatballs had no flavor to them. They need some spices in them. Sauce was fine. Mac and cheese was fine. Spicy shrimp rigatoni was fine. Overall, very disappointing for the amount of money they charge. Maybe their steaks are better, but I will never know since I will never return nor recommend this place to anyone. read more

Went there for Mothers Day brunch. Food was standard buffet, but service was off and it seemed like staff were phoning it in. They also rushed us out so they could wrap it up and call it a day. We went to 20/Twenty Grill on our first night at MarBrisa Resort. Kristina greeted us warmly and provided excellent service throughout the evening, She mixed us excellent cocktails and made some great recommendations for our food selections. We enjoyed our meal and the service so much we went back on two other occasions during our week in Carlsbad. We would highly recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately we couldn't try the outside dining area due to rain but it looked very nice with a number of fireplaces. read more

The food was ok. Environment was much more relaxing than Legoland. The menu was very overpriced for what you get. The portions were extremely small...like minature legos. The food wasn't nearly as good as I remembered it a year ago. The service was painstakingly slow and forgetful despite a quiet restaurant that was more than adequately staffed. This is a nice place to enjoy a meal or drink. The HH was certainly a hit and the bar looked full when we arrived. We had one drink for HH while we waited for our table since we arrived a bit early. We were able to be seated right on time for our reso. Our waitress was great and checked on us a good amount of times. The food was good, we thought the charcuterie looked good and want to order that next time. We were there to celebrate my mom's birthday which indicated in my online reso. I decided to check in with the hostess about it and am glad I did. She didn't seem aware and said that usually a free dessert is provided. They made a nice message for my mom on her plate and lit a candle for her! It was a nice time! I'm glad I grabbed the receipt on the way out. I noticed a tip was already added to the total. This was shocking since it was just a small party of two & it was not a holiday or event there! I wish the waitress would've pointed this out. It would've avoided all of this extra hassle! I had a time reaching someone and had to call twice. When I spoke the manager he said they already took care of it. I said I was surprised since I never heard back from anyone! Excellent food! We enjoyed a five day stay at the Westin recently and although I loved the resort, my favorite thing about staying here was indulging at this restaurant. From breakfast to dinner, the food was all around outstanding! We dined in at the restaurant and also ordered room service to our room from here, and I have zero complaints. The service was always attentive and top notch, and the food always tasted incredible. They also had a great kids menu and our kids enjoyed all of their food. If I was a local, I would be dining here on a monthly basis. Look forward to coming here again! read more

We came in for breakfast during our stay at the Westin. There weren't many people here on a weekday morning. Bonvoy Elite breakfast reward was a $36/room credit to use here. Pretty solid menu choices, all-around. I went with the quinoa bowl in my attempt to be healthy. My son got two things off the kids menu, to the tune of double bacon. Prices were okay for the Westin. $8 per kids menu item, $6 charge for coffee, if I remember right. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. read more

Wow this place really surprised us! We were staying here and were really kinda trying to avoid the hotel restaurants as likely being a bit boring. This was our last night here and decided to stay so we could take in the 4th of July fireworks from Legoland and how fortunate we were at this decision. The food was seriously fine dining level amazing! First the charcuterie board was MASSIVE and every piece was very fresh and flavorful. We had the catch of the day (halibut) on orzo and the risotto both were really made to perfection. This fish was delicious and all the seasonings for both dishes really were done well. Texture on the orzo and the risotto was fantastic. For drinks we had the margarita and it was vibrant and strong (in a good way), the presentation was also very nice. $14 price for the margarita was beyond reasonable given that was the same price for lesser margaritas at nearby restaurants this week. Service was also very prompt and friendly. This was a highlight of our trip and a very nice surprise. The hotel itself we found to be kinda lacking for what we would expect from a Westin, but that's another review. I definitely recommend giving this spot a try! read more

I still can't wait to return so I can order that coconut chia bowl again it was that good. They have some of those big curved booths which was great for my toddler cuz she doesn't sit in a regular chair out to eat very patiently. But... dinner was so sad :( So sorry to say this but I literally regret ordering it as in-room dining, and at all. The asparagus "side to share" was meager and flavorless for $18... and was half the bitter white kind. The gnocchi was bizarre; not a traditional dish in any way, more like breaded and odd-shaped dumplings. There were limited vegetarian options, and the portions were pricey for how small they were. We spent $135 for 3 ppl to and finished our meal with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches I'd packed for our trip because we were still hungry. Also, very sorry to not have asked for my cocktail to be remade or subbed for a different one but I felt bad about asking so didn't... but it was the most imbalanced mescal cocktail I've ever had and difficult to drink, despite how beautiful it looked (pictured), and I'm a mescal lover. We'll come back for breakfast or brunch, and look forward to that, but definitely ordering door dash dinner if we stay at the Westin again. read more

A solid breakfast, and the restaurant is very nice inside. A little on the expensive side, but they serve all the staples, and service was quick. The California omelet was the perfect size, and the potatoes on the side were delicious. It was good, but a little under seasoned and needed hot sauce. read more

This restaurant is connected to the hotel here. You must either use valet (free if your using the restaurant) or park yourself, and then walk through the lobby to the restaurants entrance. Definitely a gorgeous lobby and overall design. We were seated outside by the modern fire pit which was a nice touch for the sunset during our meal. I think this place had some pockets of positives; the pomegranate margarita was really yummy, The scallops were buttery and cooked to perfection, I also really enjoyed the sauce that was paired with the scallops/pork belly. Cons; unfortunately the risotto was that of most risottos; cooked incorrectly. In this case way way underdone. My friend did not enjoy her pork belly at all; super tough and hard to chew. The Mac and cheese was neither here nor there. Nothing great or bad really, just kind of fall into the background of everything we order (we did however enjoy the toasted breadcrumbs on top). I'd be interested to return and see if their menu changes seasonally, maybe we just came on an off night and it wasn't performing to its full potential. read more

For breakfast my first day, the food was excellent. I enjoyed the California omelette with a side of crispy bacon. The potatoes were okay. Service was average. It was courteous but I had to ask for a glass of water three times before finally receiving it. Refills on coffee were not very attentive. In the evening, I ordered a cocktail. The woman behind the bar said she didn't know how to make a gin & tonic! Fortunately, she found another staff member who stepped behind the bar and prepared one for me. On the second morning, everything was reversed. Service was outstanding but the food was just okay. The avocado slices on the omelette were dark and on the verge of spoiling. The toast was so lightly toasted it might have been slices of bread rather than toast. In fact, I'm not certain it was toasted at all. The melon and pineapple chunks in the fruit bowl seemed like they had been sitting around for two or three days instead of being prepped that morning. About average for a hotel restaurant. I would not recommend making a special trip here if you are not already staying in the Westin. read more

Adding a second review as I decided to go back to 20|Twenty after my great cocktail experience. I took my family for brunch on Sunday and had a great experience. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside, the patio is quite large and easily fit our table of 6, there was even a group with 12+ that could fit back there with tables to spare. So this restaurant is great for large parties looking to dine together. There was also a live performer on the patio singing and playing guitar for everyone in the patio. All in all, a great ambiance for a late Sunday morning. They have a brunch menu that had all the entrees you would expect for brunch from pancakes, waffles, eggs & bacon, omelettes, burgers, and just about anything you could want depending on if you prefer breakfast or lunch foods. Also worth mentioning they have bottomless mimosas which checked my box of brunch must haves! The service was great and he had a great attention to detail as we had a few specific request such as adding items or requesting substitutions which he happily obliged. My family ordered a wide variety foods from pancakes, eggs Benedict, omelette, chilaquiles, and burgers. Everything was cooked to our specification and was really good. I think the stand out dishes were the pancakes and eggs Benedict as the presentation and taste were amazing. All in all, 20|Twenty has both a great bar and restaurant that I would absolutely go to again. It is a must if you are staying at the Westin in Carlsbad. read more

We stepped in close to the last call but staff were so accommodating, they let us in and NEVER felt we were rushed since they close at 10pm and we finished dining at 10:35pm. We were looking for a brunch place open early & close to Legoland. 20Twenty in the Sheraton Resort fit the bill. Indoor area was bright, clean & modern. Outdoor seating was very spacious. I had the continental breakfast for $22-steel cut oats, Greek yogurt, granola, brown sugar, boiled egg, fresh fruit & croissant. It was very filling & fueled me for the whole day. The croissant, egg & oatmeal were still warm. Hubby had the bagel with lox. It was a very pretty presentation, but to me it didn't seem worth $19.
