I don't need fancy. I only need fresh and delicious with great service. The background music is just that with a nice volume. It's a beautiful day outside so the doors are open. Jaclyn came right over and took my order. I'm energized until evening. Didn't appreciate the gnats trying to share my food. Shoo, not here.

Good ambiance. Average food. Quesadilla was good but meat did not have as much flavor as I like. Guac and salsa should be better in LA. Good service.

The food is whatever. The service was absolutely horrible. We arrived like 5 minutes early. No one came to greet us. No one came to seat us. And when someone did they took someone else that arrived after us. The ambiance sucks too. Horrible place. We went here for Mother's Day and it was a waste of time and money. Hopefully this place closes down.

I first discovered 21 Square Bar and Kitchen a few years back thanks to a Yelp event. I then got to try it out again for brunch with a friend and then for Thanksgiving brunch a few years later. Fast forward four years later; I am back and this time for dineLA. I happy to say this was one of the best dineLA 2022 meals I had. Their dineLA menu for lunch was $35 and consisted of a 3 course meal with choice of starter, entree and dessert. For starters the choices were Shrimp Ceviche Tostada, Squash Blossom Empanada and BBQ Pork Sliders. For the entrees choices were Furikake Crusted Local Fish, Adobo Braised Lamb Shank and Roasted Butternut Squash. Dessert was Cinnamon Churros. For the starters we got the Squash Blossom Empanada and BBQ Pork Sliders. The Squash Blossom Empanada was good but the BBQ Pork Sliders were phenomenal. The pork belly was so tender and even had a slight crisp it too. As for the entrees; my mom got the Furikake Crusted Local Fish and I got the Adobo Braised Lamb Shank. The Adobo Braised Lamb Shank was great. I don't get lamb too often as I know it has to get cooked just right. I am happy to say that they cook lamb here really well. There was no aftertaste at all. The lamb was also perfectly tender and I loved the additional crispy texture that the shallots gave. Last but not least was the Cinnamon Churros. Ooh I love churros and these churros definitely made me go "ooooh." They were filled with caramel! They were perfectly sweet and delicious. Overall another nice experience at 21 Square and am really happy I got to check out their dineLA.

I was looking for a local DineLA spot and found 21 Square Bar + Kitchen which I wasn't familiar with. I was pleasantly surprised! Parking-wise, I wasn't quite sure if the restaurant validated hotel parking, so just parked across the street at the mall. 21 Square Bar + Kitchen can found going into the lobby and to the left side. It has big open doors to a nice patio area and a big bar area with a few tables. The bartenders were super nice and chill. Going into the DineLA menu, here's what I got: *Shrimp Ceviche Tostada: The presentation of the food on this was a little off and the tostada itself didn't look fresh (apologies if I'm wrong!), but the shrimp ceviche itself was delicious. Refreshing and was a great start. *Adobo Braised Lamb Shank: Also surprisingly solid. The plating on this was better than the ceviche and the polenta base was good. The lamb was a little salty but overall just went well with the polenta. Loved the contrast. *Cinnamon Churros: Again, the presentation itself wasn't spectacular, but the flavor was terrific. Bite into one of these churros and find a good amount of caramel overflowing. It's so good. *Local Red Ale: Super solid and delicious! I think the pricing / plating can be a little better overall, but think there's promise. A solid 3 1/2 star place that I don't mind teetering to 4 stars.

My friend who is a flight attendant had to stay here and we were meeting at a late hour so we decided to try out this place to have late night dinner. Service was just ok, food was not that good.. (had a bite of everything and that was enough) old fashioned was bad.... I asked for a specific whisky but they didn't have it so just asked for whatever they recommend, it was too sweet... and somehow the color was Red! - weird.. I will not come back here.

Had a resort pass to Marriott's pool today and ate here for lunch with our 3 year old. What a perfect way to spend a weekend. Amazing food, service, ambience. High chair available. Huge patio area kids can run around and have fun while waiting for food. Kids menu includes Mac&Cheese, butter pasta, milk and fruits that my little one likes :)

The experience at this restaurant was overall good with no complaints hence 4 stars. We were staying at the hotel that this restaurant is located in, for work travel and extended get away. It was convenient for late returns to the hotel to grab a bite to eat and beverages to drink. The restaurant was indoor and outdoor with a simple and relaxing vibe that extends out towards the pool. Our go to was the chicken wings (perfectly crispy with sauces on the side), shrimp flat bread, brownies, and wine. Was pleased with the food. The staff in the restaurant was friendly and helpful (hotel staff should take some hints from the restaurant staff)!

Doesn't have extensive selections; however, with what they have to offer, they are pretty good, although rather high priced. Love their thin breaded, tasty wings. Located adjacent to the lobby and close late, so it is very convenient for hotel guests to eat there. Their outside seatings are desirable for catching fresh air. Worth note is that their take outs may be only lukewarm, not piping hot/freshly cooked).

Steak bowl was really good. Very fresh. I was impressed by the skirt steak. Got it medium rare and was flavorful and tender. The service staff was friendly

Took kids for Brunch on Christmas Day. Something new to do for the holiday. Their mash potatoes were a hit for my son. He. LOvES. Potatoes! Nice cooked Prime rib, daughter enjoyed it and Ate. All. Of. It! She loves meat. We shared a dessert (Cranberry Apple tart) the only picture I took. (Sad face) I loved the holiday vibe and the waiter was very attentive. I will be visiting the bar in the near future. A good place to have a drink and watch a game or two if you're looking for a spot to vibe. Happy New Year Yelpers!

Jaclyn was amazing and gave great service with a big smile. People there were so nice and friendly and after we ordered our food dish you can see that we are doing OK. What a great guy. I ordered psmoked bacon, scrambled eggs and cheese, right toast, and the best crispy hashbrowns I have eaten in a very long time. You add a little Saracha and it doesn't get any better than that! I also ordered a large glass of tomato juice, it was perfectly chilled and delicious. If anybody is looking for a good breakfast even if they're not staying at this place I WOULD highly recommend going to try it out.

Julio's Burrito - Mostly Chorizo and avocado burrito with hash browns on the side.
    Matt G.

I ate here for breakfast one morning while staying at the Torrance Marriott. This restaurant has a bar and plenty of tables. The breakfast menu had many interesting selections but I was in the mood for a breakfast burrito. I ordered Julio's breakfast burrito which is supposed to have scrambled eggs, queso fresco, chorizo, potatoes, avocado and hash browns. The burrito mostly had chorizo and avocado with hash browns on the side. The burrito was good and it was quite thick. I ate my meal with a coffee and it was good. The meal came out quick and I received good service. Good food, good service, nice place and overpriced (expect it at a hotel). Four stars!

There are so many beers on tap that it's hard to keep count, and that's definitely not a bad thing. I'm partial to West Coast IPAs, and they have several excellent options, but the selection doesn't stop there. You'll find New England IPAs, porters, stouts, and everything in between. One of my personal favorites is the Milagro Nitro Stout. They even have "flavored water" like Modelo for those with questionable taste in beer. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. It's the kind of place where you can bring your kids, meet friends, or simply unwind after work. The background music is usually classic rock played at a reasonable volume, so you can actually hold a conversation. Large TVs above the bar typically have sports on, adding to the laid-back vibe. The service is another reason I keep coming back. Both bartenders are absolute class acts--friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the beer they serve. Whether you're a craft beer veteran or someone trying something new, they make you feel welcome and are always happy to offer recommendations. The food deserves recognition as well. I've tried a variety of menu items over multiple visits and haven't been disappointed. In fact, I'm genuinely surprised when I see complaints about the food on Yelp. It's good bar food done right, not a gourmet restaurant pretending to be something it's not. Needless to say, I'll be back. Actually, I already have been--many times. If you're looking for great beer, great people, a comfortable atmosphere, and solid food in Redondo Beach, this place is well worth a visit.

The night we went, they had the regular Dole Whip frozen drink and ube as the rotating flavor. Both were dope! It's only a few bucks more to add a rum floater, but I stopped doing that. The drink tastes so good I finish it in minutes, and I prefer not to get hammered on a Wednesday night. No kitchen is the only real downside. People bring food in or DoorDash it, which works. Parking can be tough sometimes because of the other businesses around the plaza. It can get cold in there from the A/C, so bring a sweatshirt or jacket. It's literally walking distance from our hotel in Torrance -- so close we actually walked past it the first time without even realizing it was there. Super hidden, easy to miss. The space itself is small, and when you first walk in it doesn't hit you with an over-the-top tiki vibe right away. But once the drinks start coming out, it fully delivers. The glassware is so fun and themed -- I was obsessed with the flamingo cup and actually ended up buying a couple online since I couldn't take the real one home with me. Drink-wise, I stuck mostly to my usual zombie, which has this great earthy, cinnamon-y flavor that's just different from anything else -- does the trick every time (there's a two-drink max/minimum on it, which I respect). We also tried a Makahiki Mua and a Painkiller, both really solid. The Makahiki Mua had a fun flavor, kind of similar to a Painkiller, but the zombie is still my go-to. Service was pretty good overall -- the bartender stayed mostly in one corner of the bar, which actually worked in our favor since we got served fast. A couple of small quirks though: they only have a limited number of menus, so we kept having to pass one back and forth around the bar, which felt a little silly. They also seemed to be running low on drink cups at times, having to wash and rotate them back into use, which was an odd thing to notice at a bar this size. Also wish they had some food or snacks available, even something small -- but that's a minor gripe. Vibe-wise, this is easily one of my favorite tiki lounges I've been to -- doesn't quite topple Broken Compass Tiki for me, but it's up there. Fun, easy, great drinks, solid service despite the small hiccups, and a perfect spot if you're staying in the Torrance area. Would absolutely go back and would recommend it to anyone chasing that tiki lounge crawl.
