Nestled in the heart of downtown Redondo Beach, Redondo Beach Brewing Company is a craft beer lover's treasure chest. There are so many beers on tap that it's hard to keep count, and that's definitely not a bad thing. I'm partial to West Coast IPAs, and they have several excellent options, but the selection doesn't stop there. You'll find New England IPAs, porters, stouts, and everything in between. One of my personal favorites is the Milagro Nitro Stout. They even have "flavored water" like Modelo for those with questionable taste in beer. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. It's the kind of place where you can bring your kids, meet friends, or simply unwind after work. The background music is usually classic rock played at a reasonable volume, so you can actually hold a conversation. Large TVs above the bar typically have sports on, adding to the laid-back vibe. The service is another reason I keep coming back. Both bartenders are absolute class acts--friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the beer they serve. Whether you're a craft beer veteran or someone trying something new, they make you feel welcome and are always happy to offer recommendations. The food deserves recognition as well. I've tried a variety of menu items over multiple visits and haven't been disappointed. In fact, I'm genuinely surprised when I see complaints about the food on Yelp. It's good bar food done right, not a gourmet restaurant pretending to be something it's not. Needless to say, I'll be back. Actually, I already have been--many times. I've been going here for about 18 years and am always pleased. It's both a restaurant trans a sports bar and very active in the evenings. The upstairs features inside and patio dining, but up a flight of steps. We started with the very tasty Mediterranean Artichokes which came on a mixture of garbanzo beans, basil, olives, tomatoes, onions & capers. Not what I expected but still really good. I'd have it again in the future for its rich taste and excellent presentation. My main course was the Tuna Melt. While not anything special I was just right for only a medium appetite. My guest ordered the Ribeye Mushroom and loved. He said he wants to come back and order it again for its preparation, seasoning and great taste. A very busy local spot recommended by friends, who I ate with today. We were a party of seven with two kids. We all sat at a booth, it was a little tight but we all fit with a seat on the outside. I don' have kids so it was a while when the adults got their food. Because apparently the kids have to eat first (smiling). The food was good we started with nachos and fried/crispy brussels sprouts and then mostly sandwiches, and a protein salad with grilled beef that the mom had. I did not have a good experience here. We ordered a salad and hamburger. It took over a half hour for our food to come. The staff was apologetic. The salad tasted great. The hamburger was overcooked, small, and dry. It was not reasonably priced at all. The only saving grace was a waitress sweetly greeting my son. I have been going to this restaurant for many years back to when it first opened. They have always had a great food selection with decent prices. In the beginning, they brewed their own beer. Now they have a long list of taps from outside breweries. The list is a good one that is sure to satisfy beer snobs. The happy hour has some great specials. We loved RB Brewing! Great energy, great food, and a local beer list where you can order all your local favorites in one place. So many excellent options from nearby breweries. The nachos were the family favorite. An edible mountain--fully loaded and dangerously addictive. The Cajun chicken pasta brought the heat and the flavor. The risotto was rich, and comforting. Everything came out hot, fresh, and way more generous than expected. Major shoutout to Becca, our server--quick, friendly, and somehow everywhere at once. She kept our drinks full, the table laughing, and brought things out before we even knew we needed them. There is outside dining for people that are still not comfortable eating inside, the first floor inside is a sports bar atmosphere with a plenty of TVs, and the second floor is a more quiet place to eat with a nice balcony which is still semi-open but is amazing for sunsets. The service here from the whole staff was incredible; friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable on their food and beer. The food is delicious. We had the sliders, fried calamari, and buffalo wings. It took a while. Service was friendly but slow. Like a lot of places, they seem short-staffed. Regardless, it was a chilly evening and I was clearly shivering. Our server offered a sterilized blanket which was much appreciated. When our well presented food arrived, the sliders looked great with the onion strings and delicious sweet potato fries. The mini-buns were on the dry side. The kid loved the Steak sandwich. The Chicken Pasta was garnished with tortilla strips and topped with buttery toast, not too creamy and just spicy enough. I love the trying the items from the "Special Menu". The chef may keep these "Special Items" on the menu for 3-4 weeks....as a way to try out new recipes that MAY end up on the restaurant menu. Tonight...the rainy weather kept many customers away from RBBC, but, not me. With this weather, there is nothing better than a warm soup or stew. This stew had the most interesting flavor...and I was 'hooked' from the first bite. I will definitely order this again. Four of us had lunch there last Thursday. Menu is huge! 2 had salads, one some kind of steak sandwich, and I had a cheeseburger. After being sat we waited about 10-15 min before we were greeted by Gurragcha... he was extremely impersonal. We ordered three drinks and the potato skins. He never came back to check if we wanted to order more food until he saw the app on the table. The appetizer took 20 minutes to come out. We then ordered our food, we split the burger and ordered one more potato skins and a pepperoni pizza. We ordered another round of wine. Our food took 30 min to come out. Our food was ran out by a sweet young girl that I assume was the expo or another server, i didn't catch her name. Just by looking at the name of the business, one would assume that they just serve beer, but Redondo Beach Brewing has much more than just brews. They have an extensive menu filled with foods that pair well with beer: appetizers, salads, burgers, pizza, pasta, and more. I just discovered this place a little over a year ago, but I've probably been here at least 15-20 times already. They've remodeled the place so it looks a lot better in comparison to my first visit here. // FOOD // Nachos: $14.00 Choice of spicy ground beef or grilled chicken breast, cheddar and jack cheese, black beans, sour cream, tomatoes, green onions, jalapeños, black olives, and pico de Gallo. This huge platter of nachos is great to share amongst a group. It's loaded and they don't skimp on the toppings at all. 4/5 Chicken quesadilla: $12.00 Marinated grilled chicken, cheddar and jack cheese, grilled onions, Ortega chilies, guacamole, and salsa. This is your typical quesadilla. Not amazing, but not bad either. 3/5 Ribeye: $28.00 Grilled Angus steak topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions, served with seasonal vegetables and herb roasted potatoes. The steak itself was pretty tasty, but slightly chewy and the fat was gristly. The seasonal veggies were cooked and seasoned perfectly! 3.5/5 Greek tacos: $15.00 Pita bread filled with ground lamb, capers, cucumber, tomato, red onion, Kalamata olives, romaine lettuce, and feta cheese. Topped with balsamic reduction and served with tzatziki sauce. Delicious! I'm not a fan of lamb at all, but the ground lamb is seasoned well and you don't taste the gamey flavor from the lamb at all. 4/5 Southwestern Penne P.V.: $18.00 Penne pasta with grilled chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, green onions, parmesan cheese, and spicy chipotle pepper cream sauce. I thought the sauce and the pasta was pretty bland. They said it was one of their best selling pasta dishes, but I did not care for it at all. 1/5 I've also tried a couple other pastas, salads, and appetizers, but it's too much to write. Last but not least... THE BEER! Amazing selection of beers on tap that they constantly rotate out. They have a wide selection of IPAs, sours, wheat, pilsners, pale ales, ciders, blondes, reds, porters, stouts, and fruit beers. They typically have 55-60 beers on tap which is more than any place in the South Bay. They also offer beer flights of 4 if you can't decide on a brew.
