Hidden gem!!! Cannot sleep on this place. Everything that was put together was pure flavor. Side salad with the dressing phenomenal. Light crisp fried chicken with the waffle fries. Fire!

KURABUTA PORK AND TRUFFLE OIL DUMPLING SOUP

I love ordering for delivery cause it gives you an opportunity to try different foods in a pinch from far away if you're willing to pay a little extra. I wanted some soup and I wasn't close by home so I tried this place today and ordered the Buta pork and truffle dumplings soup! Delicious!!!! it came with a good amount of dumplings that were huge and the flavor was to die for! The soup had a unique flavor of truffle with chopped bok choy and arrived piping hot! It was a big pricey with delivery at a cost of $31 and some change but worth it not to have to go out and get it as I have a deadline today dis work! Most definitely have to try the other dishes there!

I guess I didn't read the online reviews carefully, because I didn't realize this place was takeout only. My husband and I came on a Friday. Ordering system was easy to navigate, but took a while to wait since we didn't know it was online ordering only. Food was delicious. Service was great. The lady working there saw that we were eating inside (probably very rare for them?) and she gave us free water bottles. I enjoyed both items we ordered, the Harissa chicken and the pork belly sandwich. I cannot wait to come again and try more items! Street parking wasn't hard to find. But the area was a little worrisome. I would've never expected to find a bougie restaurant like this within a block of a motel 6, a mortuary, and a Mexican grocery store. And from the outside you can barely tell that it's a restaurant. I really wish they had chairs for sit down meal. Here's the link for ordering ahead: https://twenty2zero7.square.site/?location=11eb70099aab40c6889eac1f6bbbd01e&customer_seat_id=11ed352c3d5c1e0c88060a58f67b29f8#64

Fantastic hole in the wall gem!!!! Uncluttered sleek minimalist interior although not warm & inviting but books, a long table & bench w/plants for decor. Efficient service thru front interior window either: order by phone, online scan available. The outside doesn't look like a restaurant, only the address 2207 is visible so you could miss this hidden treasure if not paying attention ! The menu did not show any vegan selections but I was able to speak w/ Daniel, the chef & he assured me he could make up an impromptu vegan dish not on the menu & modify the grain salad for me - how accommodating !!! It was ready for pickup @ my requested time & packaged up in a brown bag w/handles! I had to open up my cardboard containers to see what he made for me - very impressive presentation for a boxed salad: mixed gourmet greens w/ arugula, grapes, persimmon & apple & pear slices, avocado, fluffy quinoa, radicchio, pomegranate, romaine, cucumber, Shaved radish & carrot & slices of Yukon gold potato, sunflower seeds ! The impromptu vegan dish contained roasted broccolini, large white beans, arugula, tiny brown beech mushrooms resting on a piece of sourdough w/crunchy housemade croutons & olives, shaved carrots & radish & a tasty vinaigrette dressing containing whole olives!! A feast for the eyes & the tummy ! I loved the different textures, colors & variety of veggies ! One of the best "takeout salads" I ever ate ! WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Daniel has skills My friend got the Kalbi on a robust Acme bun w/ arugula, peppers & sauce ? She was seriously coming back to order something for dinner, although she only finished 1/2 her sammie

Fried chicken sandwich, waffle fries, salad, scallop

Obaasan is cooking up some of the best fusion I've had. This fried chicken sandwich is delicious - juicy, crispy and with a hint of spice in the sauce they give you. I could eat this over and over and over if my waistline allowed me. Waffle fries - a classic and you cannot go wrong. Salad - I felt that you did not need too much dressing with all the natural dressing from the fruits. It was light, refreshing and not too sweet (a good thing) The scallops were yummy and cooked well; I did enjoy eating the beans and veggies with it as well. But there were about 4 scallops for $25, which I feel is to steep to justify it. I'm definitely coming back to get more sandwiches and salads from this spot.

Great hole-in-the-wall spot if you're craving Asian fusion. Went here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. The place is managed by only two people, so it took a while for the food to come out, however they were very kind and offered us free bottled water while we were waiting. The food was definitely worth the wait. The chicken was very tender and tasted amazing with the chili oil and sauce! One thing to note, there is little to no indoor seating as it is mainly a takeout place. 2207 is definitely on the pricier side, however their food is definitely worth a try!

Kurabuta pork and truffle oil dumpling soup ($14.50)

Incredible take-out only eatery offering inventive, well-crafted dishes in a sketchy neighborhood (watch your step on the sidewalk is all I'll say). You order in advance, either on their Square site, by calling them, or else scanning the barcode when you arrive, which just takes you to their Square site. We were excited to finally have a day off that aligns with 2207's limited hours, so we slightly over-ordered: Kurabuta pork and truffle oil dumpling soup, karubi-don (short rib rice bowl), fried chicken sandwich, and Gaufrette fries (waffle fries). First, the soup is STUNNING. The broth was light but had a wonderful depth thanks to the smoked bacon and lemon zest, and adding a touch of the included black vinegar only bumped that up. It had about 5 large, juicy pork dumplings that were beautifully wrapped and packed with flavor. The soup alone gets this place five stars. Our entrees were also delicious. The karubi-don was tasty, with tender and well-sauced grilled beef. The chicken sandwich was ok, although it was outshone by the soup and the rice bowl. The included fines herbes ranch was great with the Gaufrette fries. I'll definitely be craving the dumpling soup and the short rib rice bowl, and can't wait to go back!

    Harissa grilled chicken salad amazing!

In search of fresh, local biz, mom-and-pop, SEASONAL, farm-to-table WITHOUT the overly expensive and bougie attitude? 2207 is the holy grail. I was in the Richmond area and wanted to try some place new, and saw all 5 stars for this spot. Let me tell you. 2207 definitely earned all of their stars. IF ONLY there were better parking options. I ordered takeout, same day, for lunch pickup, online menu is super easy to maneuver. They seem to have dine-in option too, but honestly I'm not sure how people do that since street parking is rough out here, plus it's not entirely the safest neighborhood from what I could tell. Regardless, if you're doing takeout, you can call them, turn on your hazard lights, and tell them you're here for pickup so their sweet ahjumma can come running out with your order! I wanted something on the fresh and light, since I was heading to a brewery afterwards and their chicken salad caught my eye. Harissa grilled chicken, stonefruit, bing cherries, satsuma, avocado, sweet Brentwood corn (just to name a few items in the salad) I mean WHAT! All of that nutritious goodness, beautiful colors, and they name where they source their ingredients? Like sign me the eff up! The presentation did not disappoint, even when I opened my takeout box, I felt like I was opening up a Christmas gift. I thought I would have some salad left over, but ya girl demolished all of it. All of the flavors were so juicy, refreshing and textures melded so well together. I love the sesame soy lemon dressing that came with, thank you for the two--I kept the other one in my fridge so I could use it for future meals. I wish I could see what the interior looked like, but being from out of the area, I think parking was the main issue. Both the son and mom on the phone sounded so lovely and kind! Thank you for doing what y'all clearly do SO well, definitely down to support again...maybe dine in? The portions were huge, food so fresh, and service warm-hearted.

We audibly gasped when we walked in and saw the sign that they only do preorders now, a day ahead! We haven't been here in a year and remembered how delicious their food was so we drove here on a whim. Luckily, I rang the little door bell hanging near the sign at the window and the owner came and greeted us. I asked with hope in my voice if they only take preorders. A smile spread through my face behind my mask when he responded that they have a few items left. We immediately chose the fried chicken and patty melt. We heard them place the chicken in the fryer by the glorious oil bubbling that gives me a Pavlovian response everytime. Good thing I had a mask to hide my drool. Less than 10 min later, a nice lady handed us the carefully packaged meals. We couldn't get home fast enough to enjoy our chicken with rice IYKYK. We took a bite/ bites in the car and both did a MMMYUMMMM for both the chicken and patty melt. The fried chicken comes with a side salad OR waffle fries. The batter is super crisp and the chicken is juicy. 2 large leg quarters for $14? A steal! The patty melt is on levain bread with pickles. No side salad, fyi. A bit pricey for just a sandwich, but I would get it again. The meat was super flavorful, moist and the grilled onions kept the whole thing juicy. A great place for amazing food. Order ahead or come at your own risk and play food roulette. You can't go wrong with either choice.

The restaurant is not difficult to find. Street parking is very limited . Once inside, no tables for dine-inn . Seems to be mainly for takeout . The menu is located on the wall, could be difficult to read because of the layout of the words. Also have a QR code for full menu. Service was good:) the food was delicious . I really appreciate the transparency of all the ingredients for every items . The chicken sandwich was not greasy and the salad was fresh and full of flavor!!

This soup was divine. Kurabuta pork and truffle oil dumpling soup.

I came here on a really rainy day and this was the perfect place for warm, hearty soup. My boyfriend and I ordered the beef short rib soup and the garlic pork wraps. The portions were massive! We were basically able to make this 2.5 meals and we're both pretty big eaters. The soup was so flavorful despite being light, and the short ribs had a good chew without being too stringy. The garlic pork wraps were also delicious. I ended up ordering the soup again a few days later when I had a stomachache! I'll definitely be back here sometime in the near future.

The tendon was tender and but still had good texture. We might have ordered too much and added a whole garlic soy fried chicken and spicy beef noodle soup. The chicken was lightly breaded which was good but we found some of the white meat to be a bit dry. The sauce was also quite light if you're into that! The dark meat of course was juicy and delicious. The soup was also quite light, there wasn't a super beefy flavor and the noodles didn't quite absorb the savory soup. The staff was helpful and attentive and the tables even house all your utensils and napkins in the side drawer. There's a small parking lot with a security guard as well!

Mugunghwa has their own parking lot, which is nice since parking is not the easiest in this area when it gets busy. The restaurant is a pretty good size compared to the strip mall just north of this location. They could handle a larger group, no problem. We were a party of two and ordered a combo along with some wings. The food: The banchan here is S-Tier. Everything is so flavorful and there is a lot of diversity. I'm including the SSAM as banchan, which includes lettuce, thinly sliced, pickled daikon, thin pieces of raw garlic, pickled jalapeno and onion, and a gochujang based sauce. I really enjoyed the bulgogi with the sides. I wasn't exactly sure how to eat it, but I put a little bit of everything that came with the SSAM along with some rice and bulgogi and it was delicious. We ordered an 8 piece wing that they were able to split half Soy Garlic and half Spicy. It was nice they offer half/half on such a small order. Crunch was good, but not excellent. As part of the combo, we got the Seollongtang, a thinly sliced beef brisket soup and purple rice. The soup was neutral and not super beefy. It looked about right, but maybe it could have used a little more salt. Overall, really impressed with the selection and the complimentary side dishes here! Would never have guessed it was a Korean restaurant. We were seated right away and our server was pretty attentive. We got the usual bon chon of appetizers and were able to place our orders quickly. Kimchi Jeon: I always love the Korean pan cake. My choices are usually the Green Onion or the Kimchi variant. Here, they had the Kim chi version. It was crispy and fried to perfection and was not salty. The dipping sauce helped complement the pancake and there was plenty enough to go for a second round. Soy garlic and spicy fried chicken: This was absolutely delicious. The spicy was not too spicy, with just the right amount for the kick and not making me want to drink milk. It was also crispy and crunchy, which is what I expect from Korean fried chicken. The soy garlic was phenomenal. The sauce was not overtly sweet and it tasted what I expect from the flavor profile. These pieces were also fried to perfection as well. Kimchi Soondooboo: I always love the soft tofu soup and I am glad they had this here as well. The version here is vegetarian (though you do get an egg). The tofu was soft and there was plenty of it in the soup. My only complaint personally was that the broth was a bit bland for me. Could be that I am used to have a meat version of kimchi Soondooboo. It still tasted delicious on a cold night, but I felt it was still missing some seasoning or flavoring.
