As luck would have it, I was nearby with my mom when both of us were hungry, and very unusually for my mom, she was in the mood for pizza! We were familiar with the Orange County Sgt. Pepperoni's Pizza chain, but I only knew about it from Yelp research and my parents' experience at another location--Irvine? THE GOOD The restaurant has great freeway access, and because we ate in, I saw that dozens and dozens and dozens of people do takeout, which seems like the vast majority of this place's business. The prices are OK. The pizza is delicious, definitely at least four stars and approaching four-and-a-half. Also, the single pizza we ordered (we shared) came out very quickly, which surprised me because of all the people standing around waiting for their online and phone orders. I think they prioritize the people eating in, or maybe they had just happened to make the pizza we ordered around when we came? The bathrooms are very clean. This is especially impressive when you see how many kids this place attracts. THE BAD Why they gotta partially block the emergency exit with a chair and stacks of pizza boxes? Not only is that a violation of the fire code, but it endangers customers' lives. In the event of a fire, anything that makes it more difficult to get out as quickly as possible leads directly to more injuries and deaths. (I'm very aware of these things; call it the added knowledge of someone whose flat burned beyond habitability.) Their "arcade" section has probably seen better days. From what I could see, it is mainly a claw machine and a gumball machine that is hilariously oversized. The problem with that machine is that my chair backed right up against it, so when people are sitting on that side of that table, the machine can't be used. Plus the noise from the claw machine is annoying. THE MEH Yeah, there are lots of huge communal tables. This is perfect for kids' birthday parties, and since that's probably a main use of this place's dining room, I don't begrudge them sticking with these rather than lots of four-tops that need to be moved in order to make a larger table. But the location of the non-communal tables could be better. Why not put the communal tables in the back near the arcade, and have all the two- and four-tops up front? That would be much better. I picked up a(n overpriced) can of Diet Coke, because there's a cooler of bottled and canned drinks next to the line to order. I should have ordered a refillable (and better value) fountain drink, but I had no way of knowing they sold both individual and fountain drinks, because the soda fountain is hidden in the dining room against the wall, and their menu board is so complicated and hard to read--seriously, the letters are small--that I had no idea refills were an option. THE ILLEGAL? I don't know whether Sir Paul McCartney or Ringo Starr or their legal teams read Yelp reviews, but if they do, they might take monetary offense to Sgt. Pepperoni's not only using a Beatles-adjacent name but having altered Beatles art. I don't know. I don't think a normal person would believe that it's a Beatles-sanctioned or -sponsored or -owned business, but who knows? I didn't see any lonely hearts, and I did enjoy the show.
Love that I can walk in and have so many options for a slice or two of pizzas...their lunch specials are perfect for on the go! The staff is helpful and friendly! This location is clean and open, you can tell that it gets busy but the wait is pretty quick over all. There's a giant gumball machine, a small game/arcade section in the back corner and a tv for games on game days. Overall a great place to grab a slice and hang out and if you're not in a rush to go back to work they offer wine and beer too!
Great vibes. The pizza we had was delicious, they even split our pizza into two distinct flavors and toppings so it was like having two for the price of 1. We also tried the garlic knots and loved them too. The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely come back again.
Sgt. Pepperoni's never disappoints! The pizza is always fresh, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. You can really taste the difference in their homemade dough, sauce, and hand-grated cheese. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and consistently delicious pizza. Came by SGT. pepperoni's pizza store for dinner after making a trip to south coast plaza. Hubby had been searching for a place to eat for dinner and said his coworker had said this place was good. I am constantly on the search for really good pizza. I thought this place was just ok hubby liked his pizza and said there were a couple other slices he would like to try. Place was really packed and busy when got there. We got a small table outside, were given a pager, and waited for our food.
Great spot to stop for pizza and draft beer after a long working day. Do half & half pizza to try multiple different flavors. My favorites are BBQ chicken and Hawaii Five-O.
The place is clean and had lots of open seating. Ordered individual slices and they were ALL amazing! The Bronx Bomber had crispy cupping pepperoni! The pie of the month, The Capri, was really tasty! It had sweet pesto sauce and shredded basil on top, which tasted amazing when eaten together! The meatball ricotta had the creamiest ricotta and tasted like meatball marinara sauce from a pasta. So good! Super Bee was good, however, didn't get much of the honey. Has Franks sauce, which i hate, but was soooo good! The works was good; just your traditional supreme pizza. Overall, all the pizzas had a crispy flaky crust that was sooo addicting! Enjoyed every slice and will return to try more.

Oooohh Sgt Pepperoni's Pizza slaps! We went here last weekend after a family day at Dave & Busters. Surprisingly we were able to get a big table for all 10 of us. We ordered wings, a salad and two pizzas and a pitcher of beer. Would highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken pizza: chicken, mozzarella, spicy buffalo sauce, with a ranch. I'm drooling just writing about it again. After we had been there for a little over an hour the management asked us to move tables because they actually had that long table reserved for a party. Even though it was inconvenient, it wasn't a big deal. After we moved they offered us 4 free desserts to compensate! I tried to decline but they insisted. That's what I call good service!

Sgt. Pepperoni's is a pizza shop with multiple locations in the Southern California area. This location is in Newport Beach just off the 73 freeway near John Wayne Airport with a small parking lot. When you walk in, order at the front and they give you a buzzer that'll buzz when your food is ready. There were tables throughout the restaurant and claw machines in the back. This location serves both beer and wine. We ordered online and scheduled a time for pickup. PIZZA OF THE MONTH ($7) - as the name suggests this one changes monthly. The one we ordered was the Thai pizza slice with carrots, peanuts, bean sprouts, and cilantro. It did a really good job tasting like a Thai flavored pizza but it was just not our thing. Perhaps my brain couldn't comprehend Thai flavors on a slice of pizza but points for creativity. 3/5 GARLIC KNOTS ($9 for 6) - these were just balls of dough with garlic and parmesan on top. Personally I think it would've tasted better with cheese inside but I liked the marinara dipping sauce. 3.5/5 PINWHEEL ($8) - what I thought was lacking in the garlic knots with the cheese was more than made up for in the pinwheel. This was very oily but it satisfied that cheesiness craving for me. 5/5 WINGS ($14 for 6) - you can choose up to two flavors and we chose the buffalo and barbecue (3 wings each). Between the two I preferred the buffalo more as I liked the hint of spice. Unfortunately they forgot our ranch but fortunately the wings were flavorful enough to not need it. 4/5 MEAT PIZZA ($12.25) - we ordered our 14" specialty pizza with half meat which included pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, and their meatballs. I especially liked their meatballs. All the ingredients had a salty flavor profile and as a lover of meat this hit the spot. 5/5 SUPER BEE ($12.25) - the other half of our 14" pizza was super bee. Unlike the meat with a single flavor profile the super bee was salty from the bacon, sweet from the crème fraiche and ricotta, and spicy from the Frank's hot sauce. There was a lot more depth of flavor in every bite. This was a unique pizza and was delicious. 5/5 For the pizza we also added extra garlic for free which was a nice addition. I was surprised by just how good the pizza was. The flavors were great and I also really liked the pinwheel.
Came by on a Friday night around 8 o clock. Place is sooo busy! The line is quickly moving. We opted pizza by the slice as it was my first time to try. We ordered a variety of slices. We ordered the vegetarian, the ricotta meatballs, Bronx bomber, Hawaii 5 0. My options, were the vegetarian and the ricotta meatballs both ok. My bf had the Bronx bomber, and Hawaii 5 0, definitely recommend those two.

Back after a long absence... and apparently I've been missing out. Came here with a friend who loves this place, and I hadn't been back in quite a while. Normally, I default to grabbing a couple slices because they always have a bunch of different flavors staring at you and making the decision unnecessarily difficult. This time my friend wanted to order a whole pizza, freshly made. Good call. We went with the Works, and it was delicious. Thin crust, nice and crispy, plenty of toppings, and a sauce with just enough of a spicy kick to make you notice it without setting off the fire alarm. Everything was just really well put together. It's also a fun, casual place to hang out, and being right off the 73 in Irvine makes it an easy stop when you're bouncing around OC. Really enjoyed coming back. Definitely won't wait as long next time. This one makes my Top 10 OC pizza list. read more

Drove down from NorCal for a tournament. After we checked in at our hotel, we were looking for a place to get a quick bite to eat that's not fast food. Plus, it's FIFA season! So we were looking for a place that had TVs. Sgt. Pepperoni's came up and it was only a 3-minute drive. We walked in and there were lots of people. I can only imagine if it was a weekend. The place looks like your typical pizza joint with long tables and benches for big parties, and an arcade in the back for the kids. Love all the Beatles in Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club decor. They had at least 4 TVs. Maybe more. Didn't matter where you sat, you'll see a screen. Luckily we were able to find a table. Love that they have the menu above the counter AND you can also just order slices. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and a slice of meatball & ricotta. Those came out quickly! I love that the crust is thin and just crisp enough that you can still fold your pizza. The pepperoni is exactly how I like my pepperoni: curled up into little bowls filled with delicious pepperoni grease. Mmmmm! The rest of my family ordered The Works. That took a little bit of time since it was a whole pizza. Not a long wait. Pizza came out piping hot and the ingredients looked fresh! The noise level is loud. My first trip back in probably 40 years and everything has changed except the 6 1/2 foot gumball machine, but I'm still loving the nostalgia and the pizza... And now I'm even old enough to add a beer. Speaking of, stellar Happy Hour from 2 to 6 Monday through Friday of one slice and a beer for only nine bucks. Switch it up to a glass of wine for only 11. Enjoying the meatball and ricotta pizza and the Trademark Codebreakers West Coast IPA. Super great service offering that I could try a few beers before choosing one of many choices from the tap. The long wooden tables, red chairs, and a few old school arcade games... This might be the perfect old school pizza place. read more
