Well after years and years of being open and one of the dirtiest 24 hour locations of all they are finally painting the building inside. Hopefully they upgrade the machines, but most importantly, upgrade the locker rooms, showers, restrooms it's the worst condition by far from all the locations that I've been through. It's a start with the paint trying to make it. Look alero, brighter and cleaner. But I hope it just doesn't stop there. It needs major upgrades. Let's see how it goes. I wish they would've closed it down and they're all of that to make it easier on the people painting. They're doing it little by little people. Still trying to work out. It's amazing how we as people gage/judge one anothers level of dissatisfaction in with businesses/customer service. To my point, this location (24Hour Fitness) require guest with multiple day passes to leave your Pictured ID with the front desk, why ? to bug you about signing up for membership each day of completing your workout, I asked today ( 7/9/26 ) @ 9:18am please abstain from the salesman pitch, upon my free pass expiration i will decide to join or not. As someone who has been to all the 24 hour fitness locations in the la area this is one of the okay ones, but not very good. First of all the fact that they aren't open 24 hours is the biggest scam of all. The membership is extremely expensive and there is only one in the immediate South Bay (and even less than a handful in La) that is open 24 hours. It is ridiculous and a scam because it is literally in the name, why would I not expect that for a $300+ membership?? The gym stays ridiculously busy until close so getting a machine or in the sauna is impossible especially as someone who works 9-5 and cannot come before work. This location is bigger than most nearby, but consistently has broken machines and is disgusting inside. There is mold and other disgusting things in the women's restroom that made me gag and immediately walk out. The sauna is also so disgusting it looks like it has never been cleaned. I honestly just don't understand how this chain is allowed to market and name itself 24 hours when almost no locations are actually open 24 hours and tend to close pretty early. With the amount of foot traffic these locations get it is absolutely ridiculous that they cannot operate later or even live up to their name or keep facilities clean. read more

This is one of the Super sport location of 24 hours fitness here in Compton, which is cool. They have a class " u-jam " that my friend attended and as for me, i do lap swimming which is great for both of us. The jet sauna is under construction hopefully it will be done soon. Can't wait! I've been a loyal member at 24 Hour Fitness in Compton since 2021, but the way my cancellation has been handled is extremely unprofessional and disappointing. I tried calling multiple times to cancel my membership and was always told I had to go in person Monday-Friday before 5pm because it had to be done with a manager. So I made time out of my busy schedule and went in on Friday before 5pm -- only to be told the manager wasn't there and that I needed to come back on Monday. I explained that I'm very busy and wouldn't be able to return, and that I would call instead since staff previously said nothing needed to be signed. When I called again today, I was told once more that I had to go in person. I explained that I already tried that and it didn't work. I asked to speak to the manager, and the employee said, "Well he's here, you can come." I said I couldn't and asked if I could still speak to him over the phone. I clearly heard her say, "She still wants to speak to you," and then heard the manager WILDER in the background say, "cuélgale" (which means "hang up on her"). And that's exactly what she did -- she hung up on me. That level of disrespect and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. I've been a paying member for years and deserved basic courtesy and customer service. This experience alone is enough to make sure I never return and will not recommend this location to anyone. Unsanitary. There is insufficient. Cleaning staff for facility that operates twenty four hours with the capacity of its client base. Management constantly says that they don't have enough people to clean. The restrooms are often dirthink. They only have 1 person who cleans during the day. Is only so much 1 person can do. For being a 24 hr fitness it has the machines. It gets a workout in but the ambiance of it all is just despicable. There's water leaking everywhere and big puddles on the floor at least 6 machines within walking in it for a couple minutes were out of order. It smells terrible. The weights are racked in whatever order, why are the 5lbs next to the 75lbs?? I spent most of my time just looking for the right dumbbells. read more

Mopping with no signs out but leaving the main entry doors on the right side locked to the public. Came in through the exit instead letting the woman at the counter know that her main doors were still locked this morning with no response from her about why until I saw a woman walking around with a mop in hand upon walking in behind her. Lady at desk still kept scanners on the normal check in side though so must go under handrail to scan in (lady offered to bring scanner closer to woman checking in long after me, but watched me running around the front doorway in confusion ten mins before.) When I finally checked in, I asked lady at the computer where the locker rooms were and she went back to ignoring me. Had to ask on of the guys working out by the men's room on where to find the women's locker rooms as the signage for them is not in a visible spot from the opening doorway. Got into the locker rooms and took 3 tries to find where the bathrooms are in the locker room itself because they're also not labeled and hidden in the back corner of the locker room just as hidden as the locker room itself was from the jump. Called out the fact that other customers were going to main doors and getting locked out too without any signage as to why they were locked in the first place to the lady at the doorway again on the way out. Then lady at the desk started bringing over the scanner to the ppl on my way out of the building, while not acknowledging anything about the lack of signage I pointed out to her. Just decided to take my workout elsewhere based on the lack of awareness of the woman working the desk because if it's this bad from the start, I'm not gonna finish my whole workout here continuing to have my safety threatened if something else came up between any other staffers or customers that she didn't wanna be made aware of to do anything about. I understand now why the ratings were so low about this location, spacious facility with no direction to navigating it and a complete lack of communication from the lady at doorway who seemed to be the only person on staff at 7:15am other than the other woman mopping the floors at the entryway. I've traveled to many 24 hour fitness facilities up and down the California coast for my job since obtaining my membership in March, and most of the time they care a lot about being friendly and clean when coming into their facilities. This one completely drops the ball for me in comparison to the others I experienced around this area. With plenty of parking for vehicles and right near a train route, I really wanted to like this location upon arriving to it. However that experience I had here so early this morning, just ensured I won't be coming back to this spot. The other ones around are considerably more welcoming so I'll be sticking with those ones instead. If I this was my first time coming to this gym today, I definitely wouldn't have gotten a membership based on the lack of consideration by the staff that was supposed to communicate with me as a fellow gym member. read more

Manager is a complete jerk. I've complained multiple times about creeps and nothing has been done. Not a safe place for women to do ANYTHING. Multiple men have stared at, harassed, and bothered me and my daughter and there is never anything done to prevent it. The manager himself has turned us away for complaining. DO BETTER! This place is trashed. Half of the machines are out of order. Looks as if the bathrooms haven't been cleaned in a year or more. The mirrors all over the gym are filthy.
