Katsu California Roll Hamburger cut in half

My husband and I came here once or twice years ago and it was really good. Since we were in the area, we decided to come here with our kids. We were expecting to wait, but we got seated right away. The food was good, but not as good as we remembered. We got the King Kobe and Katsu California Roll Burger.

Came here for a group dinner and it was very empty so I was a bit surprised by that. I ended up getting the katsu California roll burger because I saw all the reviews about it. Unfortunately I thought it was just ok. The other people in my group got the creole pasta, lamb chops and tuna salad. They all seemed to enjoy theirs and the pasta looked really good. If I come back, I definitely want to try the pasta.

Love love. Such a cute decorated place and great staff! Came for a birthday celebration and the staff took care of us from start to finish. We tried so much food and everyone was more than satisfied. Definitely suggest their garlic cheese bread, house salad, steak and frites dishes.

A must visit brunch place not too far from the beach. Beautiful indoor and outdoor space to eat and hang. The restaurant gets busy and the service is superb. Big menu with plenty of options. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options.

Came to 26 Beach restaurant for a friend Galentine's event we were seated in a private area for a group of 10. The ambience nice for a girls brunch. The musical was pretty calming. The waiter was attentive. Our food was fresh and good. I ordered the black sheep burger with fries an easy Meal choice to go for. Friends also had a different burger and salad and another had a sandwich but overall the food options are diverse and gives you a variety to choose from also in my party they had alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. Highly recommend this restaurant. I went on a Sunday when there was free street parking.

10/1/25 I came here with my coworkers for dinner and it was such a great experience. I ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and green beans along with a lychee martini. Everything was absolutely fantastic. We shared cheesy toasted bread and Brussels sprouts as appetizers and they were just as delicious. The service was quick and friendly and the ambience was beautiful. The decor felt like something out of a movie, very enchanting and thoughtfully done. I would definitely come back in the future. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a unique and memorable dining experience.

26 Beach is a really fun and an eclectic place to have a nice meal, you could almost call it Bohemian, but the food quality is very good so that alone makes it worth a visit. I have been for dinner a few times, but stopped in for my first time for brunch this past weekend and had a great meal. We were a party of two arriving around 10 AM on Saturday. We did not have to wait at all to be seated and service the entire meal was very fast. There is a free parking lot directly behind the restaurant, the entrance is a very narrow alley directly to the right of the front door of the restaurant. Just go down that and behind the restaurant you will see at least 6-8 spaces. We started off our meal with a couple of iced lattes and thought they were very good. We ordered with French vanilla and it was honestly really nice. For my breakfast I chose the Baja Benedict and really enjoyed it. It was a large sized portion, so I was certainly not hungry at all after finishing it. Others at our table or the French Toast and they were hit as well. I would definitely recommend this place and being that I live very close by I will be back again in the near future.

Stopped by for a Saturday brunch. Street parking was not difficult although it's off of Washington which is a fairly busy street. They were quick to seat us, we had no wait. The service was warm and friendly. I got a coffee (meh) and the salmon royale (scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, cream cheese, asparagus, olives over a bed of brown rice). My fiance got a chai latte and the crab royale. I was pretty satisfied with my meal, pretty filling with good amounts of salmon. I think the flavors worked well if you are into olives and smoked salmon. Coffee could have been better- seems like the cocktails are popular looking around. The vibe inside is bright, colorful, definitely feels very "LA"!

March 22, 2025 | Venice: What a fun restaurant with delicious food, including huge portions, & all-around eclectic vibes! It's an exciting visit each and every time! Smoked Salmon Royal : Absolutely delicious, full of flavor! Salmon slices are plentiful throughout as well! It's easily one of my favorite scrambles/omelettes!! Yum! French Toast: Guava-stuffed & topped with bananas! Delicious! The bread is both thick and fluffy! Each French toast dish I've tried here has been delicious, some sweeter than others, my favorite being the decadent savory ones! Yum!! Decor: Fun, eclectic & upbeat! In the midst of a pink rose-adorned mirror, a soothing fountain filled with pink roses, fun painted graphics on the wall, including framed photos, you can't help but smile! The energy is definitely fun here! Crowd | Vibe: Mixed! While introducing a friend to this restaurant, we were surrounded by a huge excitable party at a long table w/cheetah print seats & gifts in hand, couples, as well as girls & guys who brunch! I've introduced several friends to this place! I highly recommend this reservations! Grateful: When we first arrived, only seating inside was available, which is just as stylish and gorgeous! While looking at the menu, I inquired about the patio and our super sweet server returned to the table minutes later and let us know that a table was now available! I was incredibly grateful and excited, as outside is a whole vibe! Overall: Yes, please! What a delicious way to brunch! I'm excited by the delicious food, upbeat surroundings, and friendly customer service from start to finish! I'm always excited to die in here, thanks again!!

The vibe is cozy and quirky, and the food is consistently amazing. I had the apple cinnamon Frw's h toast which was made with a croissant -super creative and packed with flavor but not for me. The scrambles are good and the drinks are good. Service is always friendly, and the portions are generous. Definitely a go-to spot for brunch and a cute vibe. Highly recommend! I've been here a few times and street parking is always annoying and realized they have a little back lot to park in for next time.

I just had my birthday lunch at 26 Beach using my birthday coupon that they sent me for a free burger and fries. I had the Black Sheep burger. It was absolutely delicious. The fries were perfection. I signed up for the birthday club a while back and forgot about it so I was surprised to see this coupon in my email. I recommend everybody sign up for the birthday club. You have to use the coupon for the free Black Sheep burger and french fries on the day of your birthday, but why wouldn't you! The burger was quite filling and had all the bells and whistles. It was savory delicious. The pickles were crisp. The onion was perfect. The lettuce was fresh and I was absolutely perfection. My friend ordered brussels sprouts which were also roasted to perfection. She almost ordered a second serving. They were so delicious. I highly recommend going here for lunch dinner or a brunch.

Hadn't been here in a minute. With the outdoor covered area and chance to imbibe in some bottomless mimosas, we thought brunch sounded like it would be chill here on a Sunday. It was. A bit too much. Service was slow. The vibe was so stale. And when our lemon ricotta french toast came out with a cook's hair... we were glad that at least we had gotten to divulge in some delish drinks and the Diablo Royal that came overs bed of brown rice. Yum! The waiter brought us another replacement plate so they can charge us but yah... it wasn't overall what we remembered it to be back in the day. Outdated furniture, Christmas tee and decorations still hanging around trying to get our attention that the new year hadn't begun yet. Our waiter was lovely, attentive and professional about the whole hair situation. She was clearly overworked though. All the stars go to her and her amazing attitude despite it all!! Parking is horrid so not a huge incentive either on the giant blvd down the street from the beach. Oh well..... we made the most of it but we likely won't be back.

26 Beach Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - 26 Beach Restaurant

Do they have anything vegan for brunch or lunch?

I know they have a mushroom burger (which you can ask to hold the mayo), and a curry veggie burner, but that's all I've seen.

How is parking during brunch hours? Valet? Street? Parking structure?

Parking is not ideal - not gonna lie. It's street parking most of the time but I do think they sometimes do have valet... May have changed during Covid. I live close so I just walk. May want to just call them to double check.

    Do you check vaccine status?

    Yep.

    Does it have outdoor dining?

Well, sort of. It is in a large patio, but the patio is covered. It is outside, but not really. It is a great place and I think you will like it. Sometimes they do have sidewalk seating but I did not see that last time I was there.

Are dogs allowed in the garden- not on the street? Thanks!

Do you serve bottomless mimosas for brunch?

    Yes

Are you open for dine in now?

    Yes

Does this place have bottomless mimosas?

    Yes! $15 per person

    Do they have high chairs?

    Yes!

Will there be bottomless mimosas on Monday, which is a holiday?

Nope! I went on a Monday that happened to be a holiday and they said no Bottomless Mimosas because of the holiday.

Hi, what is the maximum occupancy?

In the whole place? Under 100 I would guess. We sat at a huge long table and had 15 in our party

    Is there a kid's menu?

I highly doubt it. Not really that kind of place but the people are very nice. Maybe ask for half portion or an xtra plate?

Are there any gluten free options on the lunch menu?

There are so many options, it would be easy to build your own GF selections. http://www.26beach.com/menu.html

Is breakfast/brunch items served all day?

I believe breakfast is served till 3p.

    Do you serve Endless mimosas?

Yes we have Bottomless mimosas Mondays through Fridays from 8am-11am

Is there bottomless mimosas on the weekends?

    Nope

Trying to locate some local spots to take my dog to. Is this Pet friendly?

There are some specific spots outside where your dog can be even if they are not service dogs.

Unfortunately, my experience at Great White in Venice left me disappointed, and the main reason was the service. First, we arrived around 9:15 a.m. after seeing that the restaurant opened at 8:00 a.m., only to find out that opening had been delayed until 9:30 a.m. Honestly, that wasn't a problem at all. We waited outside, and when guests started arriving, we got in line and ended up being among the first few parties seated. The food itself was good, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. My issue was with our server, Nate. I understand that everyone has bad days, and I also work in the hospitality industry, so I try to be very understanding. However, the service felt extremely cold, detached, and uninterested from the beginning to the end of our meal. I'm not expecting over-the-top friendliness or a formal introduction, but there was virtually no warmth, no engagement, and no sense that he wanted to be there. Throughout our visit, an older gentleman working on the floor (possibly a busser or food runner) showed far more hospitality, attentiveness, and genuine care for guests than our actual server did. After we had finished eating, I ordered an orange juice while waiting for some pancakes to-go. I was asked whether I wanted the juice for here or to-go, and I specifically requested it for here. I then waited approximately 30 minutes. During that time, I received my check, paid my bill (including a generous tip), and watched multiple tables that had been seated after us receive their drinks and food while I continued waiting. My server walked by several times, looked in our direction, but never followed up or asked if we were still waiting on anything. Eventually, I flagged down another server, who was very kind and immediately looked into the situation. She returned and explained that the orange juice had apparently never made it onto the screen. However, I had taken a photo of my receipt, and the orange juice was clearly listed and charged. The issue was never the $10 orange juice. Mistakes happen. We all make them. The disappointing part was that nobody simply acknowledged the mistake or offered a sincere apology. A quick "I'm sorry, that was my mistake" would have completely changed the experience. One additional observation: I was told that cash is only accepted if you have the exact amount. That's perfectly fine, but I think that policy should be clearly posted at the entrance or on the restaurant's website so guests know beforehand. Again, I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, and I genuinely wanted to leave a positive one because the food and atmosphere were enjoyable. Unfortunately, hospitality is about more than just delivering food to a table. Based on this experience, it seemed that our server either dislikes working in customer service or was having a very bad day. Either way, many other staff members we interacted with demonstrated the warmth, energy, and hospitality that guests hope to experience when dining out.

When we arrived, the entrance was constantly blocked by the hostess and security chatting. One staff member told me to head to the bar to order, but security then acted like I was doing something wrong. A little communication between staff would go a long way. At the bar, I was skipped twice while waiting to order. When I pointed it out, the bartender told me to "hold on" while assisting a 3rd walk up after me. I asked if we could move to an open table with table service as there were many empty for ghe hour we had already been there and was told no because they were too busy. Fair enough, but that's exactly when management should be visible, coordinating staff and helping guests. Instead, when I spoke with a manager, the response was essentially that he was focused on the bar area. Good management oversees the entire operation, especially during peak periods. I was one of 5 people in our party who spent around $100 on food and drinks (apx $500 spent in total), yet the service was a mess. If it's self-service, that's fine...but make it clear and make it work. Instead, I was skipped at the bar while ordering, staff gave conflicting directions, and there was virtually no support once we had our food. We found ourselves constantly going back and forth to the bar for drinks, utensils, soy sauce, and anything else we needed. No one checked in, and getting help from staff or management was nearly impossible. The food was decent, but the customer experience wasn't. Venice Beach is always busy. This shouldn't come as a surprise. If you're going to market yourself as part of that vibrant community, you need the operational standards to match.

You almost expect the view to be the highlight... Then the food shows up. For appetizers, we shared the hummus plate and the calamari. Both were excellent. As someone whose kids were practically raised eating seafood around the ports of New England, calamari is one of those deceptively simple dishes we judge pretty harshly. Beachside absolutely passed the test. I ordered the cheeseburger, which was solid, but the real stars of the evening were the roasted Jidori chicken and the jumbo shrimp fettuccine. The chicken was perfectly juicy, something that sounds easy but surprisingly few restaurants consistently get right. The shrimp fettuccine completely stole the show. In fact, it's now become my daughter's regular takeout order, and she's easily the toughest pasta critic in our family. Congratulations... you've officially earned the title of our favorite pasta spot in the Marina. The service was another highlight. Our server spoke both German and Italian, had a great sense of humor, and made the evening feel warm and effortless. Between the location, the food, and the hospitality, I already know this is going to become one of our regular family dinner spots.

Today, July 4th is my anniversary. We wanted to take…read moreadvantage of living in Southern California, by getting out in the sun, plus we're going to see a movie close by. First let me say that Nahum, who helped us was excellent. The absolute perfect balance of checking on you but not overdoing it. If it weren't for Nahum, morning sun, and the breeze, I think we would have sent back our plates and left. Really. We didn't tell him there were any issues, because once the decision was made to stay, why ruin his holiday too? lol Ordered coffee. Dreadful. Ok, no big deal. The food came out and I could immediately SEE The Unappetizing . It's special when you can tell that your food is going to be bad before you take one bite. The French toast was Sahara dry, burned and flavorless. The chicken, was competing with it in the dry and flavorless category-- I really can't say which was worse. I don't really use hot sauce and I drowned the tenders in Cholula just to make it halfway edible. Literally we could have waited for the AMC chicken tenders and they would have been better, which is horrifying. Particularly when you try to avoid fried food in general and now you are poisoning your body for no good reason. Husband ordered a steak and eggs, medium well. I'll attach the picture and I'll let you be the judge of whether or not it was cooked properly. Eggs were not good either. Immediately, I gave hubby more than half my plate because he eats All of Everything that's put in front of him. Something would have to get up and walk off his plate for him to not eat it. He was taught not to waste food, period. The exception was steak so that he could take it home, cook it, and then eat it. This was possibly the worst meal I've ever had, and certainly on a special occasion. So many places we could have gone today that would have been a different experience, but it will never happen again. The hostess was amazing and read that we wanted a more secluded table not next to big groups so she sat us against the window in the corner to the left of where you walk in. It was a lovely spot - the people watching was fantastic! Revelation #1: if you want a specific accommodation for your table, make sure to note it in your reservation, be nice about it, but also be understanding of the time. We went early to get a good table. Revelation #2: if you want to avoid people and a loud atmosphere, come for an early dinner. They bump up the volume of the music and bass around 645-7pm which means everybody is talking very loud to be able to hear above the music. Our server came quickly, we never got his name or I would give him a shout out. Him and his shadow were great, but our server in particular had some great meal suggestions we never would have picked ourselves. Revelation #3: If you're a foodie, ask your server for recos. Ask what's new, what's freshest, what's special. Especially if it's summer because they will be getting the best of the best produce every week. The meal: - Thai crudo: 8/10 - liked it was slightly different than what you would expect at a sushi restaurant - *Cucumber salad: 10/10! Bright, fresh, summery, special. Lemon, Italian, Persian and mouse melon (mini) cucumbers with herbs and citrus. Beautiful plating, fantastic salad and reco. - Myrna potato pizza: 5/10. Wanted to love it but was really bland following the cucumber salad. - Sweet corn agnolotti: 9/10. Really tasty just wish there were more! Think there was heirloom corn as a garnish. - Spaghetti: 7/10. Spicy. Too spicy for me but we are generally no-spice people so if you like spicy this is for you. It's not overwhelmingly spicy. Flavor was good but not mind blowing. - Pana cotta with seasonal fruits: 8/10. Nice and light. Ours was mango/lime. Opted out of heavier deserts because we were so full by now. Meal size talk: totally wish we would have gotten less food. A perfect amount for 2 adults would be something like: 1 salad/veggie, 1 meat main and 1 pizza OR pasta + 1 desert. You also don't spend SO much $$$ on food that way, which if you get some things that are a little off you're not so upset about the bill. It's a foodie place with a creative chef... Anyways, great meal and great service. We'll be back to try out brunch on the patio with the remains of our gift card!

The ambiance is beautifully done, modern coastal. Perfect for a comfortable but elevated dinner. We started with the bread service, chili wontons, and gem lettuce. The bread service was my favorite, warm, soft, and the miso butter was divine. The chili wontons were also a standout, especially if you enjoy dim sum. They had great flavor and balance. The gem lettuce was fresh and simple, reminiscent of Jon & Vinny's in the best way. For entrees we had the butter shrimp and Scottish salmon, both really good, no complaints. But honestly the appetizers stole the show for me. Would definitely come back just to try more of the starters. Such a good spot.

It was a Saturday night and pretty empty, but we did go on the earlier side. Our server was also really friendly and attentive, definitely a highlight. The food just didn't hit for us. The bread service was disappointing and looked nothing like the photos we saw. Not sure if we got the wrong thing, but it wasn't good. The shrimp toast was decent but super heavy. The Caesar was not great, and no one mentioned it comes with whole anchovies on top. I'm fine with anchovy in the dressing, but the actual pieces were a lot. The chicken karaage was okay, again really heavy, but the sauce was the best part. We also tried the taco special which was just alright, nothing memorable. Overall, the vibe and service were good, but the food didn't live up to it. Probably wouldn't come back.
