They have a page's worth of french toast option - that's already a huge win in my book. I loved the s'mores french toast with the marshmallow and nutella filling (nutella makes everything amazing to me). But, the tiramisu one was meh to me. The appetizer chilaquiles are what would have me coming back. Diablo sauce, not overly soggy when brought out, yum. read more

This is a great place for Instagram worthy photos and yummy food!!!! My dodger wearing 6.4 Man-friend didn't overly enjoy the flowery, multi color and patten decor, but I was in girly heaven :) the huge perfectly cooked burger helped as payment for taken my photos tho!!! read more

Lucky for us we stumbled across this little gem. We were on our way to another restaurant nearby and good thing that place was packed with a bunch of noisy college students. So...We popped our heads into this very cute place and decided to try it out. It is divided into two sections an indoor room and an outdoor covered patio with heat lamps, the outdoor area is very French eclectic. Looking at the menu it is mainly a fancy burger and salad spot with some other entree's. The burgers looked fantastic but I chose the Chicken Marsala pasta, it was very tasty, however the sauce was very heavy. We will go back again and try the burgers. Staff was very pleasant and helpful...this is a well functioning place. read more

Anything you get it not a miss! Right when you walk in you will know cause the whole place is the cutest for a girls brunch... or a guy's ! Picture worthy as well me and my sister are BIG foodies we also like to find super cute places as well (trendy if you may) that's when we first discovered this place and I've brought most of my family since then. Definitely if someone is coming to visit take them here! You won't regret it and they will think you know all the great spots! Decided to have my 30th birthday lunch at Beach 26. Now the place is very swankyyyu the decorations that atmosphere. A few extra people decided to count heyvwere very accommodating. The food and the appetizers were amazing especially the wings. Now the only downfall were the drinks! They were all rice based drinks or something if that nature they were awful! They didn't have any regular alcohol due to the license. I probably would have chosen something else since it was a birthday party. On Sundays it gets very crowded and the parking isn't that great so I say Uber and prepare read more

Came in on a Monday around 2pm - no wait, pretty empty, seated right away. There's a tiny parking lot in the back. Atmosphere is very trendy and fun. Menu is extensive regarding brunch foods and actual entrees. My table ordered the Yuki Ahi Tuna burger, eel burger, original California burger, crab royal and chimichurri salad. The burgers were delicious. I tried both tuna and eel and you can't go wrong with either but I personally liked the eel more because the eel sauce was nice and sweet against the savory, saltiness of the rest of the dish. Service was attentive as well. Only downside was the fries were subpar, lackluster. read more

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. I went during the week with several friends of mine and they shared my sentiment. One big tip: if you go during the morning on mon-Thursday, there is a breakfast happy our menu that makes the menu prices more manageable. Plates that are usually $16-18 on Saturday or Sunday are only $10. In addition, you can check in on yelp and get 10% off! I was very happy with my caramel macchiato French toast. In addition all the friends at my table were happy with their selections. You can be sure that I'll be back, I may try to avoid those Saturday/Sunday crowds though. Free parking in the back, in addition street parking is free. Of note: the server originally said that the 10% off can't be combined with happy hour. Upon asking the manager, that is not a rule. It does not say that on the coupon or on the menu. If they refuse, I'd also ask management . read more

I came to 26 Beach Restaurant with my team for our breakfast retreat. I ordered the Crab Royal which was an excellent and tasty omelette. What precludes me from giving them 5 stars is that they are pretty inflexible with their payment options. They do not provide separate checks for large parties and they only accept 3 credit cards from large parties. These policies are ridiculous! I cannot recommend 26 Beach Restaurant for large parties but I can for a party of 1 or 2 people. BTW, they are pretty strict about food substitutions as well. read more

A city bursting at the seams to go back to normal....this place has been around since the mid 70s - Previously at the end of Washington Blvd, near the pier now a few blocks inland. The menu an extensive array of burgers, salads, soups... i had the tomato basil bisque, a mixed green salad, followed by a burger and fries. Everything was fresh and cooked true to the requested temperature.... and the wine glasses were proper crystal .... altogether an upside surprise....a beach dinner with a Funky elegance .... who knew? read more

Put away your bullshit $18 avocado toast and get a real brunch here. Best brunch in LA by far. Personal favorites are the crab royale and the katsu curry royale for brunch. This time around I got the crab royale and split a burger - they're super generous with the crab and avocado. And the California Roll burger was stellar, stuffed with loads of crab and perfectly cooked medium rare. Give this a try. Get away from the traditional boring, overpriced brunch items and get a meal with big, delicious portions and tons of options. read more

What a disappointment. First time back after Covid. Whatever happened to the GREAT burgers of the past? They used to be thick and juicy and were probably 8oz or close to it. Tonight's were typical of substandard fast food - 3oz of grey, tasteless, and dry meat. Could that contribute to the fact that the place was less than half full at 8pm on a Saturday night? Oops! I can't provide any input on the food or service, but I can say that, even though the website says they open at 8 am, getting breakfast here at 8 am is pretty unlikely. They weren't open today and another patron told me that today was her third visit when they didn't open on time. Perhaps a change to the website? I've been to 26 Beach a few times now. My in-laws love this place, so they have taken us there a couple of times. I was optimistic that the 2nd time we went would be better than the first time, but it wasn't. It was similarly ok. Just not great. The first time I got a big salad, and it was tasty, and I shared a burger with someone. the burger was ok, nothing great. The meat was pretty well cooked, if not a bit over cooked. The bun was basic. They didn't butter or toast it on the flat top, so that was kind of annoying. The second time I got their "famous" sushi roll burger thing. Almost everything on the plate tasted a few days old. I don't know that's possible with the turnover they have, but it did. Also, we waited for over an hour when they gave us a 20 minute estimate. Frustrating, but it would have been fine if the food was great. It wasn't. I wouldn't waste your time unless others in your party are dying to go here. Massive menu so you should be able to find something good no matter what. read more

I wish I can give them a ZERO rating. After waiting almost 20 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge our presence, she literally came stud next to me for 15 seconds, nothing like can"what would you like to drink, have your been here before," NOTHING, just silence and awkwardness, then finally I just started ordering, from there it literally took over 45 minutes to get our food. The potatoes that were with my ribs were partially burned, people seated at the same time as us had their food, got and started dessert and we are yet to get our food. Very disappointing to say the least. read more

There are very few places that master awesome decor and amazing food. 26 beach hits it right on the nail and is the perfect brunch spot. The decor and ambiance gives me cutesy girl clubhouse vibes! As far as the food, I got the strawberry French toast alongside a lemonade and it was uh-mazing. I arrived as a walk in at 9:30am on a Saturday and was sat right away, but I noticed that around 10:30 the place started to fill up, so get there early and secure a spot! read more

Established in 1982.

26 beach Restaurant , was founded by Katsu, Yuki (his wife) and sons Bryan & Francis Mori, and has been in existence for 33 years; an impressive accomplishment in this day in age. Equally impressive is the Mori Family's lineage in the food industry. In 1830, Katsu's great grandfather, who was mentored by a Shogun chef, opened one of the first sushi houses in Tokyo, Japan and named it "Kamei Sushi". Fast forward to 1982 and 26 Beach Restaurant was born in Venice, California, combining a menu of Japanese and American dishes.

First, we arrived around 9:15 a.m. after seeing that the restaurant opened at 8:00 a.m., only to find out that opening had been delayed until 9:30 a.m. Honestly, that wasn't a problem at all. We waited outside, and when guests started arriving, we got in line and ended up being among the first few parties seated. The food itself was good, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. My issue was with our server, Nate. I understand that everyone has bad days, and I also work in the hospitality industry, so I try to be very understanding. However, the service felt extremely cold, detached, and uninterested from the beginning to the end of our meal. I'm not expecting over-the-top friendliness or a formal introduction, but there was virtually no warmth, no engagement, and no sense that he wanted to be there. Throughout our visit, an older gentleman working on the floor (possibly a busser or food runner) showed far more hospitality, attentiveness, and genuine care for guests than our actual server did. After we had finished eating, I ordered an orange juice while waiting for some pancakes to-go. I was asked whether I wanted the juice for here or to-go, and I specifically requested it for here. I then waited approximately 30 minutes. During that time, I received my check, paid my bill (including a generous tip), and watched multiple tables that had been seated after us receive their drinks and food while I continued waiting. My server walked by several times, looked in our direction, but never followed up or asked if we were still waiting on anything. Eventually, I flagged down another server, who was very kind and immediately looked into the situation. She returned and explained that the orange juice had apparently never made it onto the screen. However, I had taken a photo of my receipt, and the orange juice was clearly listed and charged. The issue was never the $10 orange juice. Mistakes happen. We all make them. The disappointing part was that nobody simply acknowledged the mistake or offered a sincere apology. A quick "I'm sorry, that was my mistake" would have completely changed the experience. One additional observation: I was told that cash is only accepted if you have the exact amount. That's perfectly fine, but I think that policy should be clearly posted at the entrance or on the restaurant's website so guests know beforehand. Again, I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, and I genuinely wanted to leave a positive one because the food and atmosphere were enjoyable. Unfortunately, hospitality is about more than just delivering food to a table. Based on this experience, it seemed that our server either dislikes working in customer service or was having a very bad day. Either way, many other staff members we interacted with demonstrated the warmth, energy, and hospitality that guests hope to experience when dining out.

I asked if we could move to an open table with table service as there were many empty for ghe hour we had already been there and was told no because they were too busy. Fair enough, but that's exactly when management should be visible, coordinating staff and helping guests. Instead, when I spoke with a manager, the response was essentially that he was focused on the bar area. Good management oversees the entire operation, especially during peak periods. I was one of 5 people in our party who spent around $100 on food and drinks (apx $500 spent in total), yet the service was a mess. If it's self-service, that's fine...but make it clear and make it work. Instead, I was skipped at the bar while ordering, staff gave conflicting directions, and there was virtually no support once we had our food. We found ourselves constantly going back and forth to the bar for drinks, utensils, soy sauce, and anything else we needed. No one checked in, and getting help from staff or management was nearly impossible. The food was decent, but the customer experience wasn't. Venice Beach is always busy. This shouldn't come as a surprise. If you're going to market yourself as part of that vibrant community, you need the operational standards to match.

As someone whose kids were practically raised eating seafood around the ports of New England, calamari is one of those deceptively simple dishes we judge pretty harshly. In fact, it's now become my daughter's regular takeout order, and she's easily the toughest pasta critic in our family. Particularly when you try to avoid fried food in general and now you are poisoning your body for no good reason. Husband ordered a steak and eggs, medium well. I'll attach the picture and I'll let you be the judge of whether or not it was cooked properly. Eggs were not good either. Immediately, I gave hubby more than half my plate because he eats All of Everything that's put in front of him. Something would have to get up and walk off his plate for him to not eat it. He was taught not to waste food, period. The exception was steak so that he could take it home, cook it, and then eat it. This was possibly the worst meal I've ever had, and certainly on a special occasion. So many places we could have gone today that would have been a different experience, but it will never happen again. Revelation #1: if you want a specific accommodation for your table, make sure to note it in your reservation, be nice about it, but also be understanding of the time. They bump up the volume of the music and bass around 645-7pm which means everybody is talking very loud to be able to hear above the music. Our server came quickly, we never got his name or I would give him a shout out. Meal size talk: totally wish we would have gotten less food. A perfect amount for 2 adults would be something like: 1 salad/veggie, 1 meat main and 1 pizza OR pasta + 1 desert. You also don't spend SO much $$$ on food that way, which if you get some things that are a little off you're not so upset about the bill. It's a foodie place with a creative chef...
