Food was so good, our servers name was Alberto he was very helpful in showing us what was good on the menu. The lettuce wraps and sushi pizza were good and we got the salmon bowl with noodles and Chilean sea bass which was out of this world. Coconut mojito was a must! There is an inestimable Surfside restaurant named 26 Sushi & Tapas. BTW, it's also kosher ... A fairly large group of us had a quite amazing and lengthy lunch here, so we all tried a lot of things -- we were pleased with all, a rarity. The lunch specials of sushi and sashimi were simply excellent. This was likely the most beautiful and tasty sushi that I've ever had and the sashimi melted in your mouth. The fusion rolls were all excellent and very artistically presented. To my enormous surprise 26 may also have the best miso soup that I've ever tasted (after certainly tasting more than a thousand) and its Peruanized green salad was rather a revelation (and I've lived years in Peru), the addition of avocado and "choclo" (very large corn kernels was clever and very tasty) and the miso dressing was perfect. 26's hot dishes, like perfectly grilled salmon over quinoa salad, were also some of the best that I've ever had. Its "causitas" were perfect and yet had flare. Causa is a classic Peruvian dish of yellow potato, which is hard to come by in Miami, and avocado wrapped around a variety of different things like shrimp or chicken. The food is good. I was very disheartened to see they started carrying Blue Fin Tuna though. My girlfriend and I will certainly not be coming back, and I recommend you don't either until they take it off the menu. Blue Fin Tuna is extremely endangered in the wild and is being hunted to extinction. Other restaurants with a conscious have stopped serving Blue Fin for years. You have lost our business and I expect you to lose far more business after this disgusting decision to enable the extinction of one of the most incredible species on this planet. read more

On our first trip to the Miami area and really enjoying lots of good food, this place included! The menu was a bit different for us and our waiter, Morty, was so helpful and knowledgeable. Everything we ordered was fantatstic, crispy lettuce wraps, some kind of fish tacos, the tower roll (absolutely delicious, my favorite part of the meal) and we tried ceviche for the first time (el Nino 16) and enjoyed that as well. Service was top notch and everything was delicious, flavorful, and you would never even know it was kosher. Claims that it is against "Florida code". This is a complete lie as every other restaurant happily provides water for dogs. Thankfully the waitress did eventually bring us water for the dog. Food was pretty good but not great. Besides the dog water issue the service was great otherwise. One of our rolls was taking a bit so they sent out a complimentary dish while we waited. I am sitting in the restaurant right now. 2 hours after sitting down we still have not received all our food. Sushi rolls were coming out one at a time. While the wait staff has been super polite and apologetic, the kitchen is clearly messed up. With so many kosher options- why would you bother to pay for this? Edit- the manager asked us what we would like him to do. He had no solutions, would not apologize, and got aggressive back, when it was clear we were upset. How is this person in charge? Wow!! We were in Miami on vacation for the holidays and I heard great things about this restaurant so I made a reservation for the whole family. The restaurant exceeded ALL my expectations. First off the service was absolutely incredible, Alberto our waiter was so nice and accommodating all night long making the experience great. This was my favorite sushi and tapas restaurant until unfortunately a few months ago the 2 owners sold the restaurant to new people who are extremely unprofessional and the new stuff is rude. Since the new owners I have gone 9 times and had 7 of those times become an issue. I have never seen such terrible service. We were waiting for an hour and a half to get our food, and watched people who came in long after us be served. The manager lied to our faces telling us that there was a legitimate wait, but he had no explanation for why people who came after us had came and left before we were served. They offered us nothing to compensate us. They even gave us the wrong bill and tried to overcharge us. We left before they even finished giving us our sushi. 2 hours of waiting. 150$. Did not even get our full order. We almost left without paying, but wre afraid they would take it out on the waiter who was fine. The manager actually said 'what do you want me to do about it?'
