Got to have lunch here with my boyfriend thanks to Yelp, and I'm so grateful because this place was SO good. Our server, Jason, played a huge part in why I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars because he was so great, attentive, and friendly, and I imagine the rest of the staff is no different. For cocktails my boyfriend had the Guava Pop and I had the Mango mojito, which was a very good size for the price, I wish I could have had 2 or 3 more! For appetizers the cevichito and the maduros con coco sushi roll, amazing. The main course I had the quinoa chaufa since I'm not a huge salmon lover. I'm not sure what kind of sauce they used for it but it made the dish taste so unique and amazing. Finally, for dessert we had the coconut flan and passion fruit dessert which provided a delicious ending to this wonderful meal. The menu is delicious, so this review is not about the flavor or the quality. But their average Maki is $18 - and the most embarrassingly thin slices of "sushi" I've ever seen, let alone at these prices. The sushi cuts were quite literally thinner than the tip of my chopstick (as evidenced by the photo I posted) - resulting in sushi that is almost entirely devoid of the flavor of sushi, and entirely about the filler (rice, cucumber, apple, avocado, microgreens aka alfalfa, etc.). If I were behind this sushi bar, I'd consider Hari Kari before sending these dishes off to the unsuspecting public. So I write this review to -ahem- suspect the public. Don't come here expecting first rate "sushi" - come here expecting first rate "food" with a sushi-esque feel. *Edit* yes, the sushi chef did provide a complimentary serving of super lean unflavorful hamachi (it was almost kanpachi but whatevs) when I lamented about the portion of fish. But please don't put me in that position in the first place. Wow me with your menu insights on balancing flavor & ingredients - don't make me worried about contributing to the overall price inflation of real estate in Miami. What, is that roll made with heirloom apples dusted with unicorn tears? Meh. I've definitely experienced better sushi. We sat at the bar and had a great time. The drinks were amazing, and the bartender (I think his name was Gonzalo) was super friendly and helpful. I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants, and I was really not impressed with this one. Perhaps it was a combination of poor ordering and poor timing, but our experience was simply average. It took a very long time to get our order once it was placed, and so our food was mostly cold by the time we ate it. We had to order takeout since it was so busy, but next time I would get a reservation and dine in. I don't want to fault them due to the busy-ness, but I'm not convinced the food wasn't sitting for a bit before we got it. The food itself was highly fair - the sushi roll we ordered had an odd combination of flavors and textures, including being much more crunchy than anticipated, and the carrot dish tasted good but was not helped by being very cold. Also, since we had takeout, we did not get to try their drink selection, so I can't comment on that. Overall, the food was alright, but I'd likely go elsewhere. read more

I tried this place last night with my mom and we loved what we got! We ordered the ceviche and salmon nigiri as an appetizer and they were both delicious. For entrees, we ordered the miso bass and the bourbon salmon noodles and the portions were both pretty big. The miso bass was really soft and juicy. It came with mushrooms and rice which was nice. The noodles were so good, they were mixed with vegetables and I loved it! I think it was my favorite dish from the meal. For dessert, we had coconut rice pudding which I loved. It came with pieces of fruit and a jam with cinnamon on top. The jam was a little too sweet so I took off some of it and set it aside. I loved the coconut rice pudding, it wasn't too sweet which I enjoyed a lot. I'm not usually a fan of sweets but the coconut rice pudding was delicious, I would definitely come here again and order it but maybe ask for the jam and fruit on the side if possible. We also tried two drinks; the old fashion and strawberry mojitos. The strawberry mojito is a great drink for people who are into fruity drinks and the presentation for the old fashion was so cool! Overall I really enjoyed my meal and I would come here again to try more of their menu items. The service was also amazing and the ambiance was dim and had a fancy feel to it. read more

This place was amazing! The food was superb, presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. There were good sized portions and it is a kosher restaurant. I highly recommend the cevichito and lava cake. Fantastic!!! The service was by far the best service we had our entire stay in Surfside Beach. They were quick, polite and informed us when the lava cake would take 15 minutes, in the event that bothered us. They kept our beverages full at all times. The atmosphere was lovely. read more

Amazing new restaurant! Not your typical Sushi joint. From the moment you walk in you feel welcome, the staff Did a great job attending to every detail. The restaurant is only a few days old and still came across super organized and well managed. Chef clearly knows his way around the Peruvian kitchen. Fishes were super fresh and dishes perfectly flavored and plated. This place will be one of the stand outs on the Miami food scene. Definitely try the Testones and Ceviche from the best around. I have never given a one star review but this food made both my husband and me sick. I realize that eating raw fish has its risks and these things happen. However, the manager's response was to get defensive and argue with us. He did not even apologize or express any sympathy. He reluctantly took ten percent off of our check which hardly compensated for us getting sick from the food. This wasn't worth it on any level. We did not care for the food, it was extremely expensive, and we are both incredibly nauseous. The server also tried to convince us to buy only the most expensive things on the menu, which we later realized was because the 18 percent tip is automatic. I'll start with the good news- the food here is actually quite good. However, the service left much to be desired. To be fair, it was our waitress's first day serving, and she was pleasant and personable. Our food took quite a while in the kitchen, even though we (2 ppl) were the only table waiting for food (there was one other table finishing their meal with cappuccinos). The reason I'm only giving this place 1 star is because we chose it in part because there was a yelp deal for a free ice cream with an entree purchase. We showed the coupon as soon as we were seated and our waitress said she would ask about it. When we'd finished our entrees (ordered 2 sushi burritos), we asked about the coupon again because ice cream isn't on the menu. She returned to say that her manager didn't know anything about the yelp deal because he never does coupons, but he was willing to honor it for a flan instead. We were pleased with this response and enjoyed the flan. When preparing our bill, the waitress asked to show my phone, with the deal on it, to her manager and took it to the back. Really? Manager can't be bothered to come out and talk to his customers himself? She returned several minutes later with my phone and the bill. We were charged for the flan ($12!!!) and given $2 off... because she said she misread the coupon as $1 off. So why did we get $2 off? And who charges $12 for flan?? We don't live here, so we won't be back anyway, but even as good as the food is, we would still steer clear. read more

Once 26 raises the bar, haven't been to my favorite restaurant in months and my expectations were exceeded. The service is amazing the food is spectacular, when ever I send friends they are amazed! Tonight we sampled some of the dishes that maybe aren't as popular and we were blown away as usual. The thing about 26 there is nothing usual, the Peruvian twist is just something so unusual to kosher!
