Had dinner last night. Beautiful facility, excellent service and food was very good. Would like to see a small side salad to go with meal. Portions of side dishes serves 2 easily. Beer battered catfish very good; light and not greasy. Husband had the special of the day, chicken fried steak which came with potatoes, green beans and a small side salad. He said it was all good. A bit pricey as it is ala carte. Would like to see burger and a chicken sandwich on evening menu. Not everyone likes a big meal in the evening. Hope the restaurant is successful. read more

We had a great time here. The food was awesome and the ambiance was great. Garret had recommended the catfish and it was great, but the spinach salad was a real surprise. Loved the dressing and the bowl was much larger than I expected. Ate too much so had dessert (bread pudding, of course) at home. It was delicious but had to split it into two parts because it was so rich. We found out about the happy hour when we left, so don't know what that entailed. Maybe next time. read more

I hate to give this place only two stars but it is what it is. I was eager to try this new place and decided to celebrate my birthday there. Unfortunately, I was so disappointed with pretty much everything. I had to drag my family and friends out there, which was a long 30/45 minute drive for most of them. I told them I'm sure it's gonna be well with it, and we'll, it wasn't. Driving up the trees on the property are amazing, plenty of parking but the building itself could use some work to be more inviting. The interior was so boring and bland. It was very stark, with white walls and uninteresting decor. This place is in serious need of some character. The food was so so, nothing special about any of it. None of my guest were impressed at all, however, the service was very good. I hope they make adjustments and make it into a place that people feel it's worth the drive, but for me it's not. Too many other restaurants out there that have the atmosphere and great food I demand for my hard earned money. read more

We stopped by the restaurant expecting just another chicken fried steak place, but we were pleasantly surprised. They have a great menu that features twists on traditional southern food. Food was fresh, cooked perfectly and served quickly (and if you have kids, you know speed is just as important as taste). It is Christmas time and they even had a santa and provided a complementary photo! And clean bathrooms. We will def be back! read more

We decided to try this place for Easter brunch and we were glad that we did. The property is just beautiful and the home has lovingly been restored. We ordered appetizers, drinks, main courses, and dessert as well. As a group we tried different things from brunch items to burgers to steak or even a pasta dish and they were all delish. We tried a couple different cocktails and they were fantastic. Our server was very nice and attentive and we even had other people checking on us and we were not the only large group there. Afterwards we wandered outside to walk around a bit and even chatted with the owner for a bit. He is very nice and gave us a little history about the area and place. We all said we will go back again and already thinking about Mother's Day. I highly recommend it! read more

This was my first time visiting this place. We decided to go because Six alarm band was playing. Upon getting there we were told tables out on the patio were all reserved there were at least 50 tables out there hard to believe ALL the tables were reserved and then told we could sit at the chairs that were off to the side along the railings. I was so confused as there were so many tables everywhere and I could not imagine that ALL of those tables where reserved. We were made to eat inside and told we could not order anything outside. As we were eat inside i witnessed several people get turned away at the hostess stand as they were told that ALL tables outside were reserved. We did later find out that the tables behind the dance floor were open but no service and we would have to go get our drinks from the bar. Some of the people from our group tried to order food to go and was charged for the order yet after an hour there was no food and the order was never received. Then at 9:45 it was last call and at 10pm when the band stop playing they turn lights off to where we were sitting. This is a beautiful place and would have been more enjoyable if the service would have been better. And not all the tables that were reserved were taken. This establishment is poorly ran. The first visit in November 2019 was amazing. Food and service impeccable. We had an awesome experience. We returned in September 2020 and it was extremely disappointing. Drink order at 5:30 pm took 30 mins ( not to mention the waiter wasn't sure what Sauvignon Blanc was) and delivered to the wrong table. My daughters kids "Shrimp Scampi" came out with the Shrimp appetizer. Her side arrived awkwardly between appetizer and meal. The $10 Wedge Salad has a teaspoon of dressing with no bacon. My $30 - 6 ounce Filet and my husbands $40 Ribeye came out overcooked like tire rubber and my 6 ounce filet was smaller than a 1/4 hamburger pattie and just as thin. The waiter disappeared for 20-30 minutes at a time and was "busy" chatting with co-workers. The replaced steaks were better - but my filet was still very thin and small for $30. The ambiance is nice and the patio bar is wonderful but for $190 + tip I was very disappointed and dissatisfied. We decided to give a to-go order a try and they "forgot" the chicken on my Southwest Chicken Salad". read more

Don't know why all the good reviews... called ahead For a group of 14 for Sunday brunch. When we got there, they wanted to seat us at 4 different tables. And the restaurant was practically empty. Did not want to move tables together because then the servers could not serve the food? Made absolutely no sense. Most of the food was cold when we got it. One person ordered a medium rare steak. He got it and it was cold, sent it back to be warmed up. Came back over cooked. He didn't even eat it. Our servers were doing the best they could, but I don't think they were used to large groups. Another person ordered a $36 ribeye, he said it wasn't that great either. We definitely will not be back. read more

We visited on Sunday for lunch and it was pretty disappointing. The entire restaurant seemed to be staffed with only teenagers. Our water was really focused on making iced coffee for his friends, and the other staff were all standing around chatting and visiting. I did hear the manager get on to them twice, saying if they didn't find something to do he would give them something to do. Overall, we had a high end tab but a pretty low end experience. I felt very unwelcome like we were a burden for walking in unannounced. The restaurant is tiny, dark, not attractive or comfortable. Our waitress got our drink order, we ordered ciders. She brought us 2 cans! A glass would have been preferred, it's not really the can type of place. We ordered...they were out of meatloaf. Ok waiting waiting, never asked if we wanted another drink and we finally got another waiter to bring us water. Our cans sat until we left. Our food was pretty, nice presentation, cooked well but not much flavor. I had a gnat crawling on my food. Our waitress was very attentive to the people next to us who ordered expensive stuff but pretty much ignored us. We felt unimportant. I am not sure what this restaurant is about...it is beautiful on the outside, pricey for some dishes normal for others, staff is very casual but they require reservations even when they are never busy? This restaurant is in an area where people want to be casual, feel welcomed. If not....many neighbors will hear about it. It's all about word of mouth. This place is great! To start the complimentary Monkey bread is to die for! Our appetizer The Texas grilled shrimp was delicious. But while we were waiting Jp (who I assume is the owner) brought us an order of the wings to try (On the House) and all I can say is WOW! A must try. My date ordered the 6oz Filet that was perfectly cooked and I had the the Juan seguin steak which changed my life! The service was great and so was the food. This place is a must try. Do make a reservation if you can but they will accommodate if you don't. read more

First of all I believe people always give bad reviews and never good. I'm the person who always writes good reviews but not today. I had scheduled a rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding. We had 46 adults and 2 children. We paid over $3500 for the bill and I gave a $600 tip. I shouldn't have given a dime but felt the staff didn't deserve to be stiffed as it was management was the problem. Prior to the event it was impossible to get in touch with the management after taking my $1700 check. This should have been a special occasion and was a disaster. They ran out of food! I had over 10 people waiting for food. Their excuse is the food is prepared by weight???? Bottom line they were serving the food. How do you run out. They made me pay additional money to be able to feed my guest. Amazing! They also only had two people working our event! I felt so sorry for the waitress taking bar orders. She was overwhelmed. The other person wasn't helping her she was standing behind the food table. So one person had to serve 46 people drinks. They are recommended by #MichaelBerry how he would put his name to this is amazing. I will say the food was fine. I am big on supporting local businesses but I cannot recommend them. They are over their head! I had sent some friends prior to this and they had a good experience. I guess if you only bring 4 people you should be ok but big events are not recommended. We went for the first time tonight and were blown away! The service was impeccable, the setting beautiful and the food was superbly delicious. First of all the restaurant was a former historic estate converted into a beautiful steakhouse and bar. The rib-eye was so tender and tasty. The wedge salad was so fresh and huge! Easily could feed two. The mashed potatoes were better than homemade, and the mac and cheese was easily one of the best we have ever eaten. The beer they suggested was a favorite of my husband and I loved the wine. We will definitely be back and they shared their Sunday Brunch menu with us and we cant wait to go for that! Reservations recommended. As more people learn about this place it will definitely be hard to get in. The manager is a great guy, JP. Oh and you must see the beautiful hand painted mural in the entryway staircase. We will be making this place a regular dinner date! read more

Not impressed. The pimento cheese on the bread was not good. No one in our area liked it. Salmon was good but small as was the trout. Honey mustard dressing was very heavy on the mustard. Couldn't eat it. Sides all extra except very small salad. As we were leaving met another couple who was taking the bone in ribeye to their dogs. Our waitress was good and had a great sense of humor. I have been wanting to try this place for a long time so my wife and I decided to give it a try for our Anniversary. I had read the online reviews some good and some bad so I would try them for myself. We started with the spinach artichoke dip, it was mediocre at best. The Caesar salad came next flavor was decent however it had way too much dressing. My wife ordered the fillet medium and I ordered the 16 oz ribeye. Her fillet was rare and she had to send it back, when it was returned to her it was now well done and flavorless. My ribeye looked awesome and was cooked perfectly, however the outter ring was very fatty and the main part was very tough. I've had way better for way less at Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn Steakhouses. Don't waste you money. Also, we didn't understand the pimento cheese on the monkey bread, it was horrible. read more

Have been here several times so it is time for a review. This is fine dining in a casual and relaxed atmosphere at a very reasonable price. Whether it was steak or fish it was cooked to perfection. Our food was excellent. We had ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly and grilled shrimp which was delicious. The monkey bread they provide when you are seated is delicious. What an amazing place , the food was superb , the service amazing and the price very fair . If you are a fan of quail bar none the best I've ever had . They have a full bar , cozy atmosphere , the manager JP is very hands on and makes sure everything is perfect . Our server Katy always had our drinks full and never let dirty dishes stay in our table (one of my biggest pet peeves ) .they also start your meal with complementary monkey bread . They have not been open long but it in my opinion is the best place to eat in the Tomball/Hockley area . It's a must try you won't be disappointed . read more

Had our first dining experience at 2920 Roadhouse this evening. Very pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a restaurant just outside of Tomball. The grounds leading in to the property are covered with the most beautiful old oak trees. The restaurant is a converted home which has a rustic, yet somewhat elegant feel. We were seated in a lovely dining room with tables covered in crisp white linen and immediately greeted by our server Katie, who helped make our evening most enjoyable. We started with hot cheese rolls. Instead of ordering wine we opted for their Old Kentucky Cosmopolitan...yummy!! We followed with the Drunken Mussels appetizer; so delicious! Plenty for the 4 of us to share! For the main course three of us ordered the evening special: 10oz. ribeye steak (cooked to perfection) with scalloped potatoes and green beans almandine. Our 4th ordered a delicious 8oz. filet and a side of mashed potatoes. After Katie took us on a tour of the restaurant we sat back down for dessert. The four of us shared the Granny Smith Apple Crumble and White Chocolate Bread Pudding (my favorite). It was a delightful evening and we all agreed to go back again soon! PS: I would have given this restaurant 5 stars if the wine selection was more to our liking. read more

Their first Sunday Brunch so I think they are still working out some issues. The ambiance is wonderful. I love what they did to create this restaurant from a house, excellent! The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The mimosas were wonderful! But the food...the pancakes were flavorful but thin and under cooked and the shrimp in the Shrimp & Grits had shell left on 2 of the shrimp, YUCK! We spoke with the Manager and he offered his apologies but nothing else. For a new restaurant that served us basically bad food, good customer service would have been to offer a discount or complimentary appetizer or dessert to intice us to return for another try. BTW the small size and script style of the font on the menu is extremely hard to read. This script font on their menu should be saved for a wedding and not used on a menu! We will go back and try the dinner menu and hope the kitchen is better. read more

Let me start off by saying that I didn't want to write a bad review because I thought perhaps it was just me being a little to over sensitive about it. I waited several days before writing the review just to see if I was still as upset with my experience now as I was then.... I am! This was my wife's and I third time there and we decided to share the experience with our immediate family.. ~22 total in our party, celebrating son's 18th birthday. No issues with reservation, space or service (drinks took an extremely long time though) upon arriving. Upon making my reservation I had mentioned we would likely have 4 separate checks in advance to make sure there would be no issues, they said no problem. As we started ordering I mentioned to our waitress that perhaps we could do it by party names (head of each household) so check could be easily split up... she said no that "splitting at the end would be no problem". Our family is accustomed to long waits for food when we all go out to eat so that was no problem with us as we enjoy the time together talking, drinking and catching up with everyone. Drinks again were brutal in getting (which when you're waiting on food is critical to have everyone replenished to keep them from asking where's the food as well), some of our party decided to just walk down to the bar themselves to get their drinks as it was much quicker. Once food arrived, my wife's filet was medium, she requested medium rare but she did not want to complain as it was supposed to be a festive occasion... it was also cold, but my wife was a trooper and said nothing. My chicken fried chicken was cold as well.. we pushed through that and enjoyed ourselves and we said nothing as it was son's birthday. My brother's filet was hot, unfortunately he had ordered medium rare as well and it was WELL DONE... our waitress could tell something was wrong and my brother went ahead and stated he could understand medium like my wife's was done (again we never complained about wife's steak, he brought hers up) but going to WELL DONE was just too much and you can't enjoy a steak like that. She apologized and a new one was requested... it came out WELL DONE the second time as well..... we were almost all done eating so brother just bit the bullet and ate it and said it was fine. Once we requested the check, that took another 45 minutes to be completed. I think management knew some of the meals had sat out longer than needed, meals and service were below par but never came and said anything. When a party has to go to the bar themselves for drinks you should know to add someone just to take care of that if you're being overwhelmed. There was another large party downstairs so I don't know if that affected our situation but based on the drink times and meal issues I think it did. I think the manager on duty should have at least come by and apologized at least for the steaks my brother had to endure. Wait staff was nice but could use a little more training on dealing with large groups. Hopefully they see this as constructive criticism and not a complete knock on the place. Fourth time is the charm to make me really set on not going back. Incredible venue but a restaurant that is overly proud of mediocre food. Last night we asked about happy hour pricing and were told HH is Tuesday thru Thursday. Not according to the sign out front as it electronically blared Tuesday through Friday as we pulled out. It was Friday and we were there for an early meal. My meal of grilled chicken (overcooked), rice (thick and obviously not fresh) and beans loaded with salt was probably heated up from the night before. My husband got a double burger with the thought he would take half home. We accidentally left the box on the table. We were not even to our car and the "leftover" was gone and no one knew where. Expensive for less than mediocre food. Never again! Four tries is enough. Too bad as it is a nice location. More money should have been spent on getting a good chef and less on the outdoor expansion. read more
