Kaylee does perfection every time. This is exactly what I asked for. She is so talented and I really come back to just get my nails done by her. The staff is always friendly and compliments my nail sets because Kaylee does amazing overall, the vibe was calm and I was able to watch my show on my phone using their phone stand while getting them done.

First time getting my nails done in Irvine, and I know how hard it can be to find a place that actually does good mani-pedi work. I found this spot on Instagram and thought, why not give it a try--especially since I needed my birthday nails done. So glad I did! I was paired with two amazing nail techs. Jane absolutely killed it with my pedicure, and Cindy did such a great job on my manicure. Both were super sweet and really took their time. The place itself is really nice, clean, and very spacious. They do get busy, but the front desk handled everything so well and made sure everyone who walked in was checked in and taken care of. Check-in was easy, and paying was even easier--just Zelle and you're good to go. Super convenient. Overall, great experience! Thank you 2EM Nails for making my birthday nails perfect You'll definitely be seeing more of me soon!

I don't get my nails done that often because I usually have short nails for my job, but I have a special occasion upcoming and someone recommended 2EM Nails for Gel-X and builder gel. My nail tech, Kay, was so patient and explained the differences between the 2 styles. I ended up doing Gel-X because I wanted extra length and let me tell you, they were NOTHING like when I tried acrylic nails way back when. She fit and shaped them so perfectly and I couldn't even tell they weren't my natural nails. I was also impressed with how well the design came out. I prefer minimalist designs in general and Kay perfectly combined the multiple inspo pics I showed her. The salon is also v nice, no loud TVs playing random daytime talk shows and very clean. Would highly recommend.

Got a classic pedicure and a clean up for my nails. They are so clean and super fast service. I especially love how clear the air was. Even with a classic pedicure they gave me a wonderful massage. They have super strong hands and it's so relaxing! My hands were dryer than a dessert and they were able to miraculously revitalize them. Totally recommend!

2EM is located on the second floor of a smaller Irvine plaza, but I love coming here as often as I can to get mani/pedis. I usually bounce around different salons, but the past two times I've come here and Jasmine has done an amazing job! She's thorough and clean with her designs, she makes sure she doesn't go too deep with cuticles or filing. Aesthetic & Ambiance: 9.5/10 aesthetic is modern with marble, greens, and all new equipment. Ambiance 8/10: very quiet, and laid back. Service: 9.5/10 friendly and prompt, open to talking while you get services. Can make reservations online. They use new tools with each client. Classic Mani: $29 - 8.5/10 a really good deal for a full service clean up & color (not gel). Takes a little extra time to dry so make sure you wait! 2EM Mani: $49 - 8/10 same as above but with a little extra treatment such as 10 minute massage, and additional hand care treatments. They use great products for the treatments, and take their time with each step.

I've previously rated this salon 5 stars because I've been coming here almost every month for gel nails and have always had great experiences. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was really disappointing. I originally had an appointment for strengthen gel like I usually do, but this time I decided to just get my current gel removed so my nails could have a two-week break from constant polish. I had an appointment and was seated after about a 10-15 minute wait. It was clear the salon was understaffed that day, which I completely understand - that's not the issue. The problem was the lack of communication and the way my service was handled. The front desk woman (who I assume may be the owner) started removing my gel with a drill, then soaked my nails and left me sitting there for quite a while. When she came back, she would work on my nails for a short time, then leave again to manage the front desk, ask other nail techs repeatedly if they were done yet, and continue taking in walk-ins even though it seemed like there weren't enough staff to handle the current clients. This resulted in my appointment turning into a cycle of her starting to remove my nails, leaving midway, coming back briefly, and leaving again. I was repeatedly left sitting there with partially removed gel. I'm not writing this because they were understaffed (I understand things happen), but better communication would have gone a long way. I would have happily waited longer for someone to properly help me rather than having my service constantly interrupted every few minutes. She did try to be nice and offered to put a top coat on my nails, but halfway through she left again. At that point I just asked to pay and leave. I've never had an experience like this here before, which is disappointing because I've been a regular customer. I hope this was just an off day, but experiences like this are unfortunately how businesses lose loyal customers. Note: I've attached a photo of what my nails looked like after. I also asked if they could be cut to the shape of my nails and she cut them square.

2EM is my new nail place! I love Lanie, she is an absolute tour de force of a nail artist. My second time seeing her and she took my inspo pic and just leveled the hell out of it. Little bit of trust and a lot of skill and these are my favorite nails I have EVER had! I wish the pics did them justice they are so vibrant and have a depth to them that is otherworldly. The staff there is so sweet and nice and so encouraging of their nail techs, it's nice to see coworkers being kind to each other, especially when the holidays have everyone stressed.

Edit: This is in response to the salon's reply to my initial review. I did reach out about my experience, but I never received a response. I did not return to this salon to have my nails removed because of how poorly they removed my gel during my original appointment. I do not wish to come in and have the salon evaluate my nails because: (1) they are already damaged. It will take months for them to recover and even to stop hurting while at rest; and (2) I would like to avoid a situation where I feel pressured to minimize or justify my negative experience. The condition of my nails is not in dispute. It is the reason I left my original review in the first place. I have uploaded photos to show the condition of my nails now (this is after lathering my nails in jojoba oil multiple times a day for over a week). Original Review: I would give this place zero stars if I could. I went in with strong, healthy, natural nails for a builder gel application and removal. My technician over-filed and over-buffed every nail, leaving them with absolutely no structural integrity. Instead of applying builder gel, they painted on a single thin coat of what they called a "strengthening gel." Even with this so-called strengthening gel, my nails were bending and felt extremely sore. Prior to this appointment, my nails were healthy, strong, and pain-free. After the service, multiple nails became red, sore, and extremely sensitive. I had to have the product removed just two days later because of the pain and discomfort. Once it was removed, I finally saw the extent of the damage. My nail plates are lifting in multiple spots, and my nails remain constantly red and sore. The damage has made everyday tasks painful and difficult. I can no longer comfortably pinch, grip, or grab objects, including simple things like pulling up a zipper, opening a soda can, or using my hands normally. I am now left to deal with months of nail growth and recovery because of the excessive filing and buffing performed during what should have been a routine service. To make matters worse, my nails were not even shaped properly. The shaping was uneven from nail to nail, which was apparent immediately after the service. Between the poor shaping and the significant damage to my natural nails, the quality of work was far below professional standards. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of work and the condition in which my nails were left. I would not recommend this salon to anyone seeking healthy nail care.

was so excited to finally try this place but my nail tech (think it was Kay) was rude and didn't make me feel like I could explain what type of nail shape that I wanted without being passive aggressive about it. I don't want to not explain what I want and then leave dissatisfied which I still did because of the service and a bunch of spots were missed - see pictures attached. Also the price for a french pedicure with gel polish and builder french mani with chrome is not worth $168.

I've been going to a nail salon in Costa Mesa for a few years, and it was fine and wonderful, but now that I have a baby, I needed to cut some time when getting my nails done. I was recommended by my friend to try 2EM, which is about two miles from where I live, so I was hopeful. I FOUND MY NEW NAIL HOME. I booked my appointments on their website and it was so easy. The location is upstairs and there are stairs and an elevator, if needed. It is in the same plaza as Irvine Market! Lanie did my nails and Theresa did my toes, and I rested the entire time. I put my full trust in them and they DELIVERED. They were both quick without rushing me, and their attention to detail and what I wanted, was excellent. I already made my next builder gel fill appointment!

This is a really late review, given that service was rendered to me in May 2023. I remember the month because you don't tend to forget epic failures such as this one. Did a gel mani ombre and a classic pedicure. The ombre was done ok, average probably, since I remember that I could see streaks. However, that wasn't the problem. I had an old gel mani polish and they had to remove this before beginning my Mani, obviously. The woman manicurist used mainly the drill as a mean to do this job. I've had my gel polishes removed dozens of times in many other salons both in USA and abroad, and while some did use the drill, it was to mainly finish off the job, while the brunt of the work would have been done by soaking the nails in acetone/foil, and then scraped scraped scraped. While I didn't fully realize it at the time, she basically drilled a good layer off all 10 of my finger nails. You know how gel polish usually makes your nails a tad tougher? Gel polish couldn't even help my nails then. When I got home I realized that she basically shaved off my nails so bad that they were all now (then) thin, flimsy, weak, brittle, shredded messes. I did the mani because I had a wedding to attend to in Japan the following week. My nails were so badly shredded by the time I got to the wedding that I basically had to cut all of them off. The only saving grace was that I had my nails done in a pink nude/white ombre color so that any damage was not too visually apparent. I had to grow my nails out for 6 months to again have my normal non-brittle nails, and only started having gel nails done again last December 2023. I see a lot of happy customers here. So I'm assuming you just need to get a good tech. (I did ask specifically for a few highly reviewed techs (eg. Tiny) based on the reviews I read when I went in last May, but was told that they no longer worked for the salon, so I just went with whoever was available). The ladies doing my Mani and Pedi were really nice, I guess that's the one star. read more

I've been looking for a good nail spot in Irvine for ages now and none really stood out to me until I found 2EM. Incredible staff, product selection, and atmosphere! Everything is very hygienic as well, which is a must nowadays. Major shout out to Candy, who has done a fantastic job with my nails since I've started coming here- her attention to detail is crazy! She's nailed both of the designs I've given her and the soft gel extensions I've gotten here have lasted me way longer than they have in the past with less damage to my natural nail. Booking with them is super easy too, and they've been super flexible when I had a last minute emergency and needed to reschedule. Their prices are great for the amount of time and detail that goes into each set, and you have the option to tip thru Venmo if you don't have cash on hand. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a quality salon in Irvine! read more

I always have a good experience here at 2EM. Their prices are on the more expensive side but it is so worth it and every nail tech is amazing. I prefer to work with Emily and she always is so gentle with my cuticles; she is very careful with her cuts. The vibe is the salon is perfect too! They were very understanding and accommodating to the fact that we had a baby! We didn't want her breathing the fumes and they were really patient with us. Will definitely be back! read more

I normally do not leave reviews, nor have I ever left a 1-star review. However, after being customers of 2em, we unfortunately cannot recommend them anymore. Yesterday 11/15 my mother and I went for gel mani and regular pedi. We spent ~$170 (includes tip). In less than 24 hours, her gel manicure with matte coat started to peel very badly (see attached images). This has never, ever happened before. This all happened in a span of a few hours. Subsequently, I left negative feedback for the visit through their own feedback system which prompted a phone call from their front desk/manager (who refused to provide me her name despite knowing mine, which was extremely unprofessional- I should know who I am talking to). From the start, she was extremely accusatory, talked over me, and called me and my mother "bad customers" (despite this not being the first time we have received services here), and continued to do so without apologizing for the messed up manicure (i.e not even a "sorry that happened"). Then, she accused me of poorly communicating with her and basically said that we were using this as an excuse for a refund, despite providing images and videos. She also hung up on me, which was extremely disrespectful. This is absolutely horrible customer service, and really uncalled for especially for a place of this caliber. I asked her for the owner/manager's contact information but she did not provide it to me. They refused to provide a refund but offered to fix her nails. I kindly explained to her that my mom is a healthcare worker who is working 12-hour shifts for the next week up until Thanksgiving (which they are obviously closed). I can provide her schedule if needed. The primary reason she got her nails done was for a Thanksgiving holiday gathering; therefore, the earliest time she could return would be 11/24-- which wouldn't make much sense. Plus, after this debacle, I don't think we'll be back. A refund would make more sense as she can go somewhere else that is not here. We are UP locals and will definitely not be recommending this nail salon. Can provide any additional information, texts, videos, etc, if needed. read more

The absolute only reason I tried this nail salon was because it had a 4.8 star status. I am beyond upset at the quality and shape of the nails they replaced to match the nails they filled. One of the nails is so crooked my finger looks broken. I don't know how this place has such high reviews unless I was unlucky and put with the amateur nail lady. My nails are embarrassing and now I have to go somewhere else and pay again for a proper job. read more

Very clean establishment that is super cute inside. I showed my manicurist the design that I wanted. He could not do it but he told me that beforehand and gave me something very similar. For my pedicure (not pictured), it came out ok. I did have two broken nails and those weren't really fixed or treated. The other toes look great though. It can get a little pricey but they have an excellent assortment of colors and styles that they can do. read more

Not coming here again. I had Chloe my first time and she did a good job. My second time it was just okay. This time was horrible. They filed my feet so badly that they broke the skin (see photo) and I paid extra for chrome and it took forever and still did not cover the entire nail the white was not fully covered (see photo). read more

I have been to this place two times and every time was amazing! Jil did my nails the first time and Anne did my nails the second. They both looks stunning and I am so happy I found this gem of a place. I used to drive far to Huntington to get my nails done and I needed some place closer. This is one of the best salons I've been to in Irvine. The staff is friendly and always recommends what is recommended for you. Will keep going to this place! read more

Very happy with their service and all very polite staff all around. Kimmy is very good at pedicure and very accommodating when asked to take more callus as I like to be properly exfoliated. Been there a few times and also brought the picky hubby along - he normally complained about the feeble exfoliation on the soles but with Kimmy, it was first time he had been happy with the proper exfoliating service so hopefully as long as we could book with Kimmy we would be back. read more

It's been a while since I visited the salon and decided to go somewhere new. I will definitely be back! The salon itself is beautiful, luxurious, and just good vibes in general. The people that work there are really kind. This is a salon that brings heart and soul into what they're doing. Kelly did my pedicure, It was the best pedicure I have ever gotten in my life I think. Much needed and my feet came out amazing, she left them very soft. Jil did my nails, it was my first time doing the gel x. He is a true master at his craft. When I explained that I couldn't look through my phone because she had both of my hands, she made a face, and another employee brought over a bunch of gel colors and tossed them next to me. At that point, I decided to leave after they removed my gel. They still charged me for both a gel removal and a manicure, even though my nails looked far from manicured. Getting your nails done shouldn't feel rushed and uncomfortable, especially when you're paying to relax and enjoy the experience.

I went with my sister for my birthday and everyone is so nice and accommodating. They had a lot of color options and it was overwhelming but everyone was patient and tried really hard to recreate the vision I had for my nails: from picking the color to the specific charm, they were careful and explained to me which would be better. So definitely the service was an A++ especially if you are new. The place was very sanitary and it was very pretty. Not cramp at all and create a really good atmosphere. The best part is my nail tech, Tiny, who I completely fell in love with. She is nice and has very delicate hands. She checked in with me every step of the way to make sure that it was exactly what I wanted. She was definitely talented and was very serious about doing my nails. She was friendly and meticulous. Went above and beyond to achieve what I wanted. At one point, she switch out the gems completely because she thought that another one was better - even though it took more time and effort. My sister was more indecisive and wasn't sure what she wanted, but Tiffany was patient and was ready to fix everything in order to achieve what my sister didn't even know she wanted but loved. My sister doesn't even like getting her nails done and doesn't really trust someone else to do her nails but this experience with Tiffany made her completely changed her mind. My sister commented that Tiffany was comfortable to be around and was talented to the point where she would trust her completely if we were to come back. Overall a 10/10 experience. I recently visited this nail salon with high hopes due to the high Yelp reviews. My regular nail person is on vacation so I want to try this new place. However, my experience left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. From start to finish, my visit was a combination of rushed service and poor attention to detail. The lady assigned to do my nails was in a hurry. She seemed distracted and disinterested in providing a quality service. As a result, my nails turned out bumpy and uneven, far from the polished look I had hoped for. Dissatisfied, I reached out to the owner through Yelp to express my concerns. The owner was responsive and understanding, offering to have my nails redone the next day. While I appreciated their willingness to rectify the situation, it should have been done correctly the first time. The problems did not end there. Three weeks later, I returned to my usual nail spot to remove the color applied at this salon. To my horror, I discovered a dark green patch on my thumb. It was diagnosed as nail fungus, a problem I had never encountered before in my ten years of having my nails done. I was informed that the improper seal of the nail polish allowed moisture to become trapped in my nail bed. This incident has left me mortified and deeply dissatisfied. I will not come back. I ended up wasting even more money to see a doctor for my fungus. read more

Lynn is an absolutely amazing nail tech! She is so talented and sweet. I came in with a pretty complicated inspo photo, and she completely knocked it out of the park. She worked quickly while still paying close attention to every little detail, constantly checking in to make sure I was happy with the length, shape, and colors. They didn't have the exact polish shades from my reference photos, but Lynn went above and beyond to find the closest matches possible, and the manager even checked in to make sure everything was perfect. I went back to the salon because they had mentioned a two-week guarantee. They applied polish again on the damaged nails, but this time it only lasted one day before the same thing happened. When I returned for the third time within one week, the staff's behavior was extremely rude and unprofessional. They didn't want to fix the nails and treated me poorly. Stopped in for GelX today and Wendy did my manicure and Kate did my pedicure, standard nail polish. Both were fantastic, but Wendy knocked it out of the park! I brought in a picture of what i wanted and she did an amazing job! I was new to GelX but she was so informative of the process and benefits to GelX vs Gel vs acrylic! I've been going to 2EM for a few months now and they are consistently the best! The staff is so kind, the salon is always clean, and I have never received more compliments on my nails. The toenail design wasn't exactly what I had asked for or what I showed in the reference photo, but it was close enough that I could live with it. However, after I got home, my fingers started to sting. I realized I had several small cuts around my cuticles and skin. It became clear that my skin had been nicked in multiple places during the manicure. During my appointment, the technicians were frequently on a video call and spent most of the time chatting with each other in Vietnamese. They would often stop working on my nails just to continue their conversations before resuming. Unfortunately, it felt like they weren't fully focused on my manicure, which may explain why I ended up with so many cuts on my fingers. To be fair, they were not rude at all. Everyone was friendly and polite, and I don't think anyone had bad intentions. I just wish there had been more attention to detail and more focus on the client during the service. I hope they improve because they seem like nice people.

Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. From the moment I walked in, the staff seemed disorganized and couldn't decide who was going to help me. Since I understand Vietnamese, I also understood the conversations happening around me. It felt like no one was particularly interested in taking my service until I mentioned I would also be getting a pedicure. Even during my appointment, I was repeatedly asked if I wanted gel polish applied after I had already said no multiple times. What bothered me most was the atmosphere. Throughout my visit, several technicians openly mocked and complained about customers in Vietnamese, seemingly assuming no one else could understand them. I watched older clients get talked about simply because they needed a little more help finding the color displays. Another elderly customer politely asked for UV-protective gloves during her gel service, and instead of simply providing them, one technician questioned why she wanted them until another technician explained that they do offer the gloves and should just give them to her. As more elderly women came in, there were additional comments and exasperated reactions in Vietnamese that made it obvious they were annoyed by having older clients. A nail salon should be a place where people can relax and feel respected, regardless of their age or the services they're requesting. Instead, the environment felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. If you speak Vietnamese, you may hear conversations about customers that were never meant for them to understand. Between the constant gossip, the lack of professionalism, and the disrespect shown toward clients, I won't be returning. If you're looking for a peaceful, welcoming salon experience where customers are treated with kindness and respect, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
