Kaylee does perfection every time. This is exactly what I asked for. She is so talented and I really come back to just get my nails done by her. The staff is always friendly and compliments my nail sets because Kaylee does amazing overall, the vibe was calm and I was able to watch my show on my phone using their phone stand while getting them done.

First time getting my nails done in Irvine, and I know how hard it can be to find a place that actually does good mani-pedi work. I found this spot on Instagram and thought, why not give it a try--especially since I needed my birthday nails done. So glad I did! I was paired with two amazing nail techs. Jane absolutely killed it with my pedicure, and Cindy did such a great job on my manicure. Both were super sweet and really took their time. The place itself is really nice, clean, and very spacious. They do get busy, but the front desk handled everything so well and made sure everyone who walked in was checked in and taken care of. Check-in was easy, and paying was even easier--just Zelle and you're good to go. Super convenient. Overall, great experience! I don't get my nails done that often because I usually have short nails for my job, but I have a special occasion upcoming and someone recommended 2EM Nails for Gel-X and builder gel. My nail tech, Kay, was so patient and explained the differences between the 2 styles. I ended up doing Gel-X because I wanted extra length and let me tell you, they were NOTHING like when I tried acrylic nails way back when. She fit and shaped them so perfectly and I couldn't even tell they weren't my natural nails. I was also impressed with how well the design came out. I prefer minimalist designs in general and Kay perfectly combined the multiple inspo pics I showed her. The salon is also v nice, no loud TVs playing random daytime talk shows and very clean. Would highly recommend.

Got a classic pedicure and a clean up for my nails. They are so clean and super fast service. I especially love how clear the air was. Even with a classic pedicure they gave me a wonderful massage. They have super strong hands and it's so relaxing! My hands were dryer than a dessert and they were able to miraculously revitalize them. Totally recommend!

2EM is located on the second floor of a smaller Irvine plaza, but I love coming here as often as I can to get mani/pedis. I usually bounce around different salons, but the past two times I've come here and Jasmine has done an amazing job! She's thorough and clean with her designs, she makes sure she doesn't go too deep with cuticles or filing. Aesthetic & Ambiance: 9.5/10 aesthetic is modern with marble, greens, and all new equipment. Ambiance 8/10: very quiet, and laid back. Service: 9.5/10 friendly and prompt, open to talking while you get services. Can make reservations online. They use new tools with each client. Classic Mani: $29 - 8.5/10 a really good deal for a full service clean up & color (not gel). Takes a little extra time to dry so make sure you wait! 2EM Mani: $49 - 8/10 same as above but with a little extra treatment such as 10 minute massage, and additional hand care treatments. They use great products for the treatments, and take their time with each step.

I've previously rated this salon 5 stars because I've been coming here almost every month for gel nails and have always had great experiences. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was really disappointing. I originally had an appointment for strengthen gel like I usually do, but this time I decided to just get my current gel removed so my nails could have a two-week break from constant polish. I had an appointment and was seated after about a 10-15 minute wait. It was clear the salon was understaffed that day, which I completely understand - that's not the issue. The problem was the lack of communication and the way my service was handled. The front desk woman (who I assume may be the owner) started removing my gel with a drill, then soaked my nails and left me sitting there for quite a while. When she came back, she would work on my nails for a short time, then leave again to manage the front desk, ask other nail techs repeatedly if they were done yet, and continue taking in walk-ins even though it seemed like there weren't enough staff to handle the current clients. This resulted in my appointment turning into a cycle of her starting to remove my nails, leaving midway, coming back briefly, and leaving again. I was repeatedly left sitting there with partially removed gel. I'm not writing this because they were understaffed (I understand things happen), but better communication would have gone a long way. I would have happily waited longer for someone to properly help me rather than having my service constantly interrupted every few minutes. She did try to be nice and offered to put a top coat on my nails, but halfway through she left again. At that point I just asked to pay and leave. I've never had an experience like this here before, which is disappointing because I've been a regular customer. I hope this was just an off day, but experiences like this are unfortunately how businesses lose loyal customers. Note: I've attached a photo of what my nails looked like after. I also asked if they could be cut to the shape of my nails and she cut them square.

2EM is my new nail place! I love Lanie, she is an absolute tour de force of a nail artist. My second time seeing her and she took my inspo pic and just leveled the hell out of it. Little bit of trust and a lot of skill and these are my favorite nails I have EVER had! I wish the pics did them justice they are so vibrant and have a depth to them that is otherworldly. The staff there is so sweet and nice and so encouraging of their nail techs, it's nice to see coworkers being kind to each other, especially when the holidays have everyone stressed.

Edit: This is in response to the salon's reply to my initial review. I did reach out about my experience, but I never received a response. I did not return to this salon to have my nails removed because of how poorly they removed my gel during my original appointment. I do not wish to come in and have the salon evaluate my nails because: (1) they are already damaged. It will take months for them to recover and even to stop hurting while at rest; and (2) I would like to avoid a situation where I feel pressured to minimize or justify my negative experience. The condition of my nails is not in dispute. It is the reason I left my original review in the first place. I have uploaded photos to show the condition of my nails now (this is after lathering my nails in jojoba oil multiple times a day for over a week). Original Review: I would give this place zero stars if I could. I went in with strong, healthy, natural nails for a builder gel application and removal. My technician over-filed and over-buffed every nail, leaving them with absolutely no structural integrity. Instead of applying builder gel, they painted on a single thin coat of what they called a "strengthening gel." Even with this so-called strengthening gel, my nails were bending and felt extremely sore. Prior to this appointment, my nails were healthy, strong, and pain-free. After the service, multiple nails became red, sore, and extremely sensitive. I had to have the product removed just two days later because of the pain and discomfort. Once it was removed, I finally saw the extent of the damage. My nail plates are lifting in multiple spots, and my nails remain constantly red and sore. The damage has made everyday tasks painful and difficult. I can no longer comfortably pinch, grip, or grab objects, including simple things like pulling up a zipper, opening a soda can, or using my hands normally. I am now left to deal with months of nail growth and recovery because of the excessive filing and buffing performed during what should have been a routine service. To make matters worse, my nails were not even shaped properly. The shaping was uneven from nail to nail, which was apparent immediately after the service. Between the poor shaping and the significant damage to my natural nails, the quality of work was far below professional standards. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of work and the condition in which my nails were left. I would not recommend this salon to anyone seeking healthy nail care.

was so excited to finally try this place but my nail tech (think it was Kay) was rude and didn't make me feel like I could explain what type of nail shape that I wanted without being passive aggressive about it. I don't want to not explain what I want and then leave dissatisfied which I still did because of the service and a bunch of spots were missed - see pictures attached. Also the price for a french pedicure with gel polish and builder french mani with chrome is not worth $168.

I've been going to a nail salon in Costa Mesa for a few years, and it was fine and wonderful, but now that I have a baby, I needed to cut some time when getting my nails done. I was recommended by my friend to try 2EM, which is about two miles from where I live, so I was hopeful. I FOUND MY NEW NAIL HOME. I booked my appointments on their website and it was so easy. The location is upstairs and there are stairs and an elevator, if needed. It is in the same plaza as Irvine Market! Lanie did my nails and Theresa did my toes, and I rested the entire time. I put my full trust in them and they DELIVERED. They were both quick without rushing me, and their attention to detail and what I wanted, was excellent. I already made my next builder gel fill appointment!

I have been meaning to come here for a while now, but just got the time to get my nails done. I was scoping their instagram and decided last minute to get my nails done on a Friday afternoon. Called the business at 12:45 asking for a gel-x with charms and with a Korean jelly nail look. Was able to get an appointment at 2:30 with Ann. She did an amazing job on my nails! I've been here a few times and all in all, a great place. I love that you can book online and get a last minute appointment. They do really cute designs, are clean and friendly. Have had mostly good experiences but the last time I went in, I said I didn't want to have my cuticles nipped. What did she do? Nipped my cuticles. I also asked that not too much length be taken off my natural nails...they ended up being too short. Darn. I think this is the exception, though - just this one gal this one time. We used to frequent this place when it was a precious nail salon under different ownership/business as it's a very convenient location for us. Was happy to see another nail salon take its place, and had the chance to visit it today. It's quite lovely and chic, and it's very clear that they care about the customer experience and want to do well, even encouraging any constructive criticism. I am not very fussy so I didn't have much to offer in that way, but I will say that it I think this was the first time in my life I wasn't hustled to make a color selection and was told to take my time by the technician! (I absolutely understand there are appointments and everyone's on a schedule, but give a girl a minute!) Superior nail salon. The owner, Wendy, has been there both times I have been now. She is always running around helping out to ensure no one is waiting too long and will jump in to help. She's always asking to make sure you're happy and getting exactly what you want. My first set of Gel X nails lasted me FIVE weeks. I only had to go in because they were so grown out. Zero chips or peeling. Candy did my second set and was so meticulous and an absolute perfectionist. Exactly what you want when it comes to a nail tech. I have been to nail salons all over OC and this is hands down the cream of the crop. So happy to have found them. read more

What a wonderful upgrade from the nail place that was here before. Went on a tuesday afternoon and felt like i was VIP. The decor and interior designing was luxe enough to have me feel like I was in Las Vegas. Staff was extremely attentive & friendly. A red flag i look for in a nail salon is if the staff gossip to each other in vietnamese while they do your nails, and none of that exists here. They offer all type of designs & nail colors, so you won't run out of options. You'll have a wonderful time with your girlfriends or by yourself here. read more

Incredible atmosphere. I popped in after a run to get a gel manicure and it was the most professional, relaxing, and enjoyable nail service I have ever received. The salon is beautifully decorated with natural light pouring in from the front. Gold accents and marble finishes line the walls, and the entire salon smells wonderfully of lemongrass. Chloe the manager and Wendy the owner were extremely hospitable, and I even got to meet one of the "2Ems" that the salon is named after (she's adorable and very artistically inclined). I greatly admire people like Wendy who take the risk of entrepreneurship to start their own business in providing extremely high-quality service to clients and job opportunities to others. A true role model. My nails came out impeccable with no scratches. The price was right on par with comparable places. I will be returning and recommending this salon to all my friends, both from college and from work. read more

I recently found out about this place thanks to a friend and I am so glad I did! The staff here are very kind and efficient. The nail tech Tam has to be my favorite though because he does an amazing job at what he does. I have very tiny nails and I don't do them very often. I found this place on yelp and saw that they have done several hailey Bieber inspired nails, which I wanted to try. The place was very neat and clean, front desk lady was super nice and friendly. The lady who did my nails, Chloe, was amazing and gentle. She took her time with my tiny nails to make sure they were perfect. You get 10% discount for your first visit and my total end up being $72. Would definitely be coming back! Thank you :) read more

This was my first time at 2EM and the experience was phenomenal! They were very organized and the salon was very clean. As soon as you sit down they offer you water and bring all the mail colors to you. Jil was my nail technician and she paid great attention to detail. I got my nails done by Chloe today. She was great and she did exactly what I wanted! She did nick the tip of my ring finger but it's fine since it was the only one. I decided to let it go and she did everything else great! I recommend coming to her if you want an ombre design. Just know it's going to take like 2 hours so plan ahead. read more

Finally a working massage chair! I've been to several nail salon within OC and this place is by far the chicest of all. I was greeted and attended very well and seated immediately. I did not feel rushed at all. Cindy and Tina both did an amazing job. They did nail prep and removed my thick cuticles. I liked Cindy's attention to details and how my toenails are even. Lastly, I did not get the receptionist's full name, but I think she's the biggest asset of this place. I'm basic, and don't do nail art at all. I like simple gel polish and I really appreciate that she allowed me test some colors on my nails and was patient enough to bring some testers. My bill came out to $144 and was given 20%. I availed 2EM Manicure and Pedicure and upgraded it to gel polish. read more

The worker are very unprofessional and they have lack of creativity. They don't know how to mix the colours. I had to spend couple of hours the get my toes down because the First Lady didn't understand and she did something totally different from what I wanted it. Then the second lady tried to fixed it which she made it even worse. My toes were thick and it was catching to my socks. Overall my experience was awful there. I had to get my toes fixed the next day at my local place. It cost my further at the end and double the price. Please don't go to this place. read more

i got the builder gel service and gel x removal. i don't remember the name of the nail tech who helped me but when removing gel x, she buffed my nail down so much that they were thin and became brittle. i even let her know i was in pain when the dremel started to get hot and she stopped for that moment but continued to buff as usual. when she was applying the hard gel, she added large amounts which felt like it was burning once i put my hand under the uv. ive had to trim my nails short for the past 6 months because they're so thin. i had gotten good service before but i wont be returning after this uncomfortable experience. read more

At that point, I decided to leave after they removed my gel. They still charged me for both a gel removal and a manicure, even though my nails looked far from manicured. Getting your nails done shouldn't feel rushed and uncomfortable, especially when you're paying to relax and enjoy the experience.

I went with my sister for my birthday and everyone is so nice and accommodating. They had a lot of color options and it was overwhelming but everyone was patient and tried really hard to recreate the vision I had for my nails: from picking the color to the specific charm, they were careful and explained to me which would be better. So definitely the service was an A++ especially if you are new. The place was very sanitary and it was very pretty. Not cramp at all and create a really good atmosphere. The best part is my nail tech, Tiny, who I completely fell in love with. She is nice and has very delicate hands. She checked in with me every step of the way to make sure that it was exactly what I wanted. She was definitely talented and was very serious about doing my nails. She was friendly and meticulous. Went above and beyond to achieve what I wanted. At one point, she switch out the gems completely because she thought that another one was better - even though it took more time and effort. My sister was more indecisive and wasn't sure what she wanted, but Tiffany was patient and was ready to fix everything in order to achieve what my sister didn't even know she wanted but loved. My sister doesn't even like getting her nails done and doesn't really trust someone else to do her nails but this experience with Tiffany made her completely changed her mind. My sister commented that Tiffany was comfortable to be around and was talented to the point where she would trust her completely if we were to come back. Overall a 10/10 experience. I recently visited this nail salon with high hopes due to the high Yelp reviews. My regular nail person is on vacation so I want to try this new place. However, my experience left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. From start to finish, my visit was a combination of rushed service and poor attention to detail. The lady assigned to do my nails was in a hurry. She seemed distracted and disinterested in providing a quality service. As a result, my nails turned out bumpy and uneven, far from the polished look I had hoped for. Dissatisfied, I reached out to the owner through Yelp to express my concerns. The owner was responsive and understanding, offering to have my nails redone the next day. While I appreciated their willingness to rectify the situation, it should have been done correctly the first time. The problems did not end there. Three weeks later, I returned to my usual nail spot to remove the color applied at this salon. To my horror, I discovered a dark green patch on my thumb. It was diagnosed as nail fungus, a problem I had never encountered before in my ten years of having my nails done. I was informed that the improper seal of the nail polish allowed moisture to become trapped in my nail bed. This incident has left me mortified and deeply dissatisfied. I will not come back. I ended up wasting even more money to see a doctor for my fungus. read more

Lynn is an absolutely amazing nail tech! She is so talented and sweet. I came in with a pretty complicated inspo photo, and she completely knocked it out of the park. She worked quickly while still paying close attention to every little detail, constantly checking in to make sure I was happy with the length, shape, and colors. They didn't have the exact polish shades from my reference photos, but Lynn went above and beyond to find the closest matches possible, and the manager even checked in to make sure everything was perfect. I went back to the salon because they had mentioned a two-week guarantee. They applied polish again on the damaged nails, but this time it only lasted one day before the same thing happened. When I returned for the third time within one week, the staff's behavior was extremely rude and unprofessional. They didn't want to fix the nails and treated me poorly. The toenail design wasn't exactly what I had asked for or what I showed in the reference photo, but it was close enough that I could live with it. However, after I got home, my fingers started to sting. I realized I had several small cuts around my cuticles and skin. It became clear that my skin had been nicked in multiple places during the manicure. During my appointment, the technicians were frequently on a video call and spent most of the time chatting with each other in Vietnamese. They would often stop working on my nails just to continue their conversations before resuming. Unfortunately, it felt like they weren't fully focused on my manicure, which may explain why I ended up with so many cuts on my fingers. To be fair, they were not rude at all. Everyone was friendly and polite, and I don't think anyone had bad intentions. I just wish there had been more attention to detail and more focus on the client during the service. I hope they improve because they seem like nice people.

Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. From the moment I walked in, the staff seemed disorganized and couldn't decide who was going to help me. Since I understand Vietnamese, I also understood the conversations happening around me. It felt like no one was particularly interested in taking my service until I mentioned I would also be getting a pedicure. Even during my appointment, I was repeatedly asked if I wanted gel polish applied after I had already said no multiple times. What bothered me most was the atmosphere. Throughout my visit, several technicians openly mocked and complained about customers in Vietnamese, seemingly assuming no one else could understand them. I watched older clients get talked about simply because they needed a little more help finding the color displays. Another elderly customer politely asked for UV-protective gloves during her gel service, and instead of simply providing them, one technician questioned why she wanted them until another technician explained that they do offer the gloves and should just give them to her. As more elderly women came in, there were additional comments and exasperated reactions in Vietnamese that made it obvious they were annoyed by having older clients. A nail salon should be a place where people can relax and feel respected, regardless of their age or the services they're requesting. Instead, the environment felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. If you speak Vietnamese, you may hear conversations about customers that were never meant for them to understand. Between the constant gossip, the lack of professionalism, and the disrespect shown toward clients, I won't be returning. If you're looking for a peaceful, welcoming salon experience where customers are treated with kindness and respect, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
