I've been here three times in the last 10 days. This place has everything I love! Tasty drinks/pastries/gelato, good atmosphere, and really friendly staff. My favorite drink, by far, is the soy matcha latte (available iced or hot). It comes slightly sweetened, which I like. I'm also a big fan of their lavender honey gelato. I have been to this place a few times and always had a pleasant experience. I do normally come in and enjoy a good cup of coffee in the store, and always tip when I dine in. Today I was in a rush so I did to-go order and didn't leave a tip as it was just a carry-out order. One of the workers came up to the screen while I was signing and said "wow! Thanks so much I REALLY appreciate that". I didn't really know what to think so I went to the coffee bar to wait for my order, she came back up to the barista making my order in front of me and said "I just LOVE when people place orders for the most annoying thing to make on the menu and don't leave a tip. This is probably the nicest coffee shop around. Plenty of parking. Definitely a rush during lunch but the staff is nice and calm. Booths to work in, great internet speed( disconnects after a certain amount if time) and bonus on the baby high chairs!!! Price is affordable and pastry is professional! I really like how this area has changed over the last few years, but I do have to admit that I really miss "Pardners" restaurant. That being said, my wife and I visit this area a couple of times a month. From tacos to meatballs to a great cup of joe. I normally do a drip coffee, but this time I opted for a latte. And using whole milk makes it that much better. In a day when milk alternatives are king, I prefer the moo juice. Steam it up and add it to some espresso and you have a winning combination. I will start off by saying that the drinks and eats were quite nice and are worth the recommend however, the service was so off-putting I doubt I will go back. We came from well out of our way (25 minutes) to meet up here. This is the third time I have experienced a sort of "holier-than-thou" attitude by the staff. Not only not friendly but talked down to us. Everything is closed off from staff to customers with a plastic shield. I get it, but there is ONLY one place they will call your drink/food order as being up. It was on the other side of where we sat so hearing the order was impossible. After 20 minutes of not hearing the order we went up asking, and it had been sitting there for the entire time and was cold. No effort was made to say the name to the other side of the establishment. When I went up to order a second round I asked if they wouldn't mind shouting when the order was ready to the other side so we could hear when it was ready. The only retort I got back was, "We don't deliver to tables". Nice. Yeah, "super friendly" for a customer service related business... NOT! Also note that you will have to pay $10 an hour to stay in the establishment if you are there for more than an hour whether you continue to order anything or not. I typically don't write negative reviews if I have one bad experience unless its crazy bad, because different people waiting on you can change the entire experience, however this is now a consistent theme here and I have no issue writing this review. read more

In a world where there are many kinds of coffee shops, it's important to know which kind you're headed to when perusing the Yelps for cup of joe. This one is bright, spacious, modern, and so very net pretentious. It's not quite "adorable" as it carries a bit more swagger than that. But it's also not really swanky. It's your cool older sister back from college--warm, friendly, familiar, but with a bit more to say and a bit more interesting to listen to. As a new-ish place, they've definitely hit their stride now and offer a great place to congregate for caffeine. It's the treats, really, that set them apart. When they opened, they recruited a pastry BOSS LADY to come in and take the helm. Amber Billingsley put them in the right direction and helped stake a claim as one of the city's best spots for baked goods. Great place to come and study. There are plenty of outlets and great seating options. I came here to get away from distractions at home and get some work done on my thesis project for graduate school. I sat on the bar by the window and felt very comfortable and focused there. I ordered an iced mocha with coconut milk and a boulevard acai bowl. Both were so good! The mocha was creamy and smooth and not at all acidic or bitter. The acai bowl was delicious with fresh fruit and crunchy granola and shaved coconut. I feel like most acai bowls I've had in the past have been really sugary, but this one was the perfect amount of sweet! I wish I had come here to study before! I'd like to say I don't know when it happened but I know exactly when it did. My very first time to Intelligentsia converted me into a coffee snob. And while I do get the majority of my caffeine fix from Starbucks it's definitely not because I think their coffee is all that great. Given the opportunity (and money) I'd pick a local upscale coffee shop any day of the week. I'm in love with all the coffee shops popping up around the valley and 3 Cups is no exception. I've been here a handful of times and I love it. Bright open space, clean lines, big windows, with booths, tables and a communal table/bench it's the perfect place to hangout alone or with a group. I'm a latte girl myself and so I judge a place on that. 3 cups makes an exceptionally good one. It's a tad on the too hot side but not tongue burning hot. Smooth and creamy I could take it with or without sweetener. I've had sips of Jeremy's pour overs and they're always well done. This last time I went I got an Afoggato - two shots of espresso poured over their house made gelato. Let me tell you it was heaven in a cup. I chose the vanilla and cinnamon gelato which was creamy and sweet and had just the perfect amount of each flavor. It blended perfectly with the espresso. They had about 6 flavors of gelato to choose from and you can also get it by the scoop or pint. All their coffees come with a tiny shortbread cookie. It's such a nice touch. In addition to their coffee they have a great selection of loose leaf tea and other drinks. My girls love their vanilla steamers. They also have a nice toast selection and a great made in house pastry case. Everything we've tried has been phenomenal. I don't know that I could pick just one to recommend. My kids loved the lemon meyer cake, I adored the lavender pear scone (a real scone not a utah scone, it wasn't dry or crumbly but perfectly moist and flavorful), and Jeremy was raving about the spinach and gruyere tart. The price is comparable to other coffee shops of their caliber but more expensive then Starbucks. You get what you pay for and this place is worth it. What a nice place to get the Sunday morning going! I love the fact this place is open on Sunday. I ordered avocado toast with soft boiled egg, macha scone and lavender lemon honey tea cake along with a cappuccino. The egg was very soft and tasty. The avocado toast flavor was a little off. When I took the first bite, I thought I was eating bad brown avocado, but the avocado looked green and fresh, so I guess it was due to the seasoning. This place is always busy but not in a good way. Like, way too many people crammed into the space. I'd recommend getting your order to go because it's almost impossible to find an open table. If you're lucky enough to get a table you'll most likely need to put headphones on because the acoustics aren't good. The internet connection here is horrible. Does my pictures of their food and drinks look delicious? However there is a huge difference between the taste and look. The pastry is so so and the shell is kind soft. The acai berry tasted freezer-burned. My homemade chai didn't have much spices in it. My husband said his latte tasted weak. What makes this shop really stand out is their location! Fairly strategically placed in this charming commercial plaza. If you walk outside you can see a HUGE Christmas tree if it's winter season and the entire plaza is charming and cozy. If you want to order drinks I suggest their affogato ice cream. It's bomb. Another reason giving this place five star is their gelato bar. I think espresso and gelato goes perfectly well together. So you're also a fan of that, don't hesitate to come check it out for yourself. They have friendly customer service as well and venue is always packed most of the time. This place is consistently great. I love so many of their drinks. I love the chocolate they use for their mochas. Most mochas are so bitter to me but theirs is smooth & has the best chocolate. I really love their cappuccinos. I'm not a big coffee drinker, I need lots of cream & sweetener. Even then I always taste bitterness, but not here. I think I'll be able to use less sweetener as time goes on because their espresso is so smooth. This may sound silly but they also have the best foam in the city. It's a nice thick layer that makes their drinks so fun to sip. ;) Also, their Affogato is out of this world (a scoop of gelato floating in espresso). Worth getting! I also have to mention that their pastries are equally delicious. So much flavor and creativity coming up with all the different pastries. Their lavender & pear scone is amazing. My husband and I did family photos a year or so ago and we used part of this building for some of its shots. We also were definitely needing to re caffein-ate while we ventured around from place to place, so we ended up at three cups. We got some cute shots inside the coffee shop. It is very minimalistic so it is easy to get good shots with simple background. The couple of times i have been here it hasn't been crowded which is nice. There menu is simple, but if you need help deciding what to get they can definitely help you with anything you need. They have food but again, like I said I haven't tried any and I don't even know if they have gluten free or vegan food because I don't remember even asking! read more

This place is so cute and bright and I stumbled upon it after lunch at Taqueria 27 next door. I love the vibe and the gelato was amazing. We got the cardamom pistachio, coffee, and praline flavors. Also a freshly baked gingersnap cookie that was chewy and delicious. I loved the layout of the place and can't wait to go back and try some of their coffee and other drinks! Update: service is friendly and helpful. They know their stuff. I wanted a tea because I had a sore throat. She recommended a few both herbal and not. I went with the blue tea which had caffeine and was reminiscent of vanilla and floral notes. I added nothing to the tea and it was just what the doctor ordered! I've been here about 5 or 6 times and the drinks are always good. Also I love that I can order ahead and just go pick it up. No hassle.

Inconsistent coffee prices and very very slow, also I always get over an inch of room when I ask for black coffee and "no room". I always bring in my 16oz re-usable cup and have paid anywhere between $1.40 and $3.45... for drip coffee... I think the board shows $3 as their highest price for drip. I also ask for black coffee "no room" and always get over an inch of space which isn't too much of a big deal unless I'm paying the upper $3 price. The service is very very slow. There are usually 4-5 people behind the counter, half of which are usually on food prep/dishes but it takes a remarkably long time to work through a short line of customers. My thought is, if you are a coffee shop but can't do basic coffee right, what are you doing? There is one girl who works there, who is fantastic. Don't know her name but she is brunette and seems to be on point all the time. She might be a manager, and if not, she should be. She always seems to go out of her way to get the lines moving and seems to be extremely efficient and nice. The dude with the beard and short trendy girl with the pixie cut are generally pretty unpleasant to deal with. Those two consistently botch the pricing and interact with customers like they resent them. read more

My girlfriend had the savory galette as well and that was great too.
