My wife and I go to 3 about every month and always have an amazing meal and spectacular service. We went last night and the food was extremely bland to the point that we send fish tacos back to be re-cooked. I had the 3 burger which was lack luster and disappointing. We also got a dozen oyster which were not completely shucked so we had to separate them all from the shell before eating. Overall, the experience last night was severely disappointing and I wouldn't recommend 3 as it seems they have had some sort of change that has effected the quality of food. read more

Quality of the food is good, but way overcharged for what it is. It is one of those restaurants that wants to be high class with sub par standards. The front staff seems confused most of the time. The service was terrible we went around lunch time and the waitress had no personality, didn't tell us her name or specials and was barely ever there for the whole meal. We have been here a few times and although the atmosphere is great.... The service has not been up to par! The food is pretty good, but for a couple to have a 90 dollar tab, it should be a great experience! Please give some of these waitresses some personality and encourage them to move faster. Because we have come here before, we took our family here for Thanksgiving. We noticed that some who ordered the traditional turkey dinner were not enjoying their dinner: dressing was dry, sprouts were burnt and overcooked and the turkey portion was sparse. Then others who had steak or fish got very small portions. Too bad. It was not busy there and we all wondered if this was not a good move. Might have to consider other places. read more

I especially like their Monday special half priced burger- really good food for a fair price on a typical day, but a great price if you time their special priced promos. It was our first time back to 3 in a while. We wanted to watch the Olympics so we sat at the bar. The bar was extremely crowded but the bartenders (Liz and Cara) did an amazing job. They were both extremely friendly, courteous, and got our food and drink orders timely and correctly. The food was also amazing. We have been here several times over the years. Always good food and service. This time we opted for the calamari app, my wife had the fried clams and I tried the pear and Gorgonzola flatbread. The calamari was crispy (a bit over fried, but good) and the dipping sauces were tasty. The whole belly clams were on the smaller side and were further dwarfed by the mountain of French fries beneath them. On the plus side, my wife said the fries were perfectly crispy and delicious. My flatbread was ok, but I was expecting a bit more flavor/seasoning. The Gorgonzola is a strong flavor on its own, but that's all I could taste. I would have given a 4 star rating if not for our server (Jillian) pretty much phoning it in (not unfriendly, but not welcoming or engaging either. She passed by our table a few times with our water glasses empty, so I had to flag down a busser to get them refilled). Also, we were seated next to the lively bar area which made conversation more difficult. More positives than negatives, for sure, but worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

The food was great. My friend and I had Brioche French Toast and Your Way Omelet. The French toast was not too sweet and the berry sauce was so good. And the sausage was not too salty and with little spice taste. The omelet was just perfect. On the menus, the juice is fresh squeezed which is not was the only disappointment. read more

My husband and I moved to the area and decided to try this restaurant. Lovely atmosphere, lovely service, lovely food. Let me start by saying we are very picky with food since we are both great cooks and going out to eat for us is more to experience good food than for convenience. The food was excellent, for appetizer I ordered the caribbean chicken tenders, It was the best ever chicken tenders I have ever had a restaurant and I have a lot of restaurant to compare it to... the cheese dip that comes with it is just fresh tasting, tastes home made and it is absolutely delicious. The entrees were just as tasty. To top off our lovely experience, Joe the manager comes by our table to see how everything is going, he is so pleasant and seems like he really cares about his job, the restaurant and the customers. We decided to go back another night before writing this review. Again, I was impressed with the food, the service, and Joe was there again ( and he reminded us by the way). I've tried to like 3, I really have, but they always shoot themselves in the foot. The atmosphere is an effort at contemporary-trendy-metro wine bar. Unfortunately that translates to a noise level that rivals most international airport's food courts. I'm thinking that they must have some sound system that amplifies ambient crowd noise because even when it's not busy, it's way too loud in there. And this is from someone who regularly goes to see live music with friends, so I'm used to eating in loud places. The service is odd. I think that the wait staff imagines themselves in a much higher end establishment than they are. They seem to be pretending that it's the diner's privilege to eat there. I've taken three or four different people there for dinner, and each of them had difficulty communicating with the servers, which inevitably lead to their order getting mixed up. The servers then always manage to make it seem like it's the patron's fault. They also seem to lack the training in basic table etiquette such as when to bring what to the table. I don't think I've been there once when the appetizers arrived before the entrees. The food is pretty good when it's good, and marginal when it's not. Everything is done to the sweet side, with emphasis on cinnamon. We had onion soup last night that was sweeter than grandma's sweet potatoes. My sword fish was over done, but the seasoning was o.k. In the end, I think they are clearly trying hard. I can see that there are a lot of people who go there who'd love 3 to be the hip place it is trying to be while they park their mini-vans outside. But they just miss the mark. Some good waitstaff training, and more solid reliably good menu items might bring it to 4 stars, maybe. Sadly, it's a 2 right now, making me wonder if the restaurant wasn't named for it's aspirations. read more

I always use the Phantom gift card given to me for Christmas to try out a new restaurant - this year it was 3. I think we can add this restaurant to our regular rotation after a sensational dinner. After a 30 minute wait for a table - about the time to enjoy a typically overpriced martini - we were seated in a smallish booth for two. We started with the Baja Rolls. Tasty but a little too heavy as an appetizer for our taste. There are many other options we'd try instead next time. We split the Autumn Salad special and it was lightly dressed with a tasty raspberry vinaigrette. I would have liked the waitress to have appeared to offer us small salad plates so we could have split the salad instead of each diving in with our forks - fortunately this was really the only time we were unattended for any length of time. My wife got the Pancetta-Romano Crumbed Scallops. This was over a creamy risotto with green beans. A little pricey at $25 for 6 scallops but sooo tasty. I got the Lobster Mac and Cheese. It was perfectly moist (not soupy like I've had in some places) and a nice portion of lobster. Be warned that the place can be noisy, there's a good chance you'll have a significant wait unless you arrive before 6 PM and the prices are above average - but you're almost certainly going to get a very tasty and unique dish. read more

I go to 3 pretty regularly as it's one of the few nicer dining establishments in the area. It's OKAY, but not fantastic. It has a fun bar area that can get quite loud. There are a lot of those two-top tables lined along the center of the room which I hate because I always feel like I'm sitting on top of other people! Maybe it's just me, but that is a major turn off at any restaurant. If you get a booth you're in good shape. The drinks are pretty good. Their version of a stoli doli is delicious. I also love their bread basket which comes with mini corn muffins with cinnamon butter and a crunchy, cheesy, crispy, flakey flat bread. My favorite entree there is the pork tenderloin which is stuffed with a sausage and cranberry stuffing with a cranberry sauce which is a delicious contrast of sweet and savory. Sides are also good-mashed & asparagus. My husband has had the swordfish which he's liked and I've also had the steak tips which are also good. The portions are average. You leave there feeling full, not stuffed. I've also had the lettuce wraps and caesar salad, both good. The worst thing I've ever had there is their pizza which seems ridiculous because how difficult is it to grille a pizza? The cheese was too strong...almost like they topped the margarita with an asiago cheese or something along those lines. The lobster club is also really good as is the pasta bolognese and chicken marsala. So as you can see I've tried a good amount of the entrees here and I'm very rarely disappointed, but never blown away either. The service is always good as well. As for their desserts, my favorite is a chocolate mint cream pie which is served with a more modern presentation than a traditional pie. If you like chocolate and mint, try this dessert. The banana and walnut caramel sundae however, not as good. The ice cream is of good quality (might be Haagen Das?), but the bananas are cold-literally diced and dumped on top. They should be prepared like a bananas foster with them being sauteed in the caramel/rum sauce. Now that would be delicious! Overall, pretty good spot. You probably won't be disappointed, but it probably won't end up in your top 5 favorite restaurants either. read more

First time we went a few months ago, food and service was fabulous. This second time, not so much. Service was mediocre and the menu had changed so disappointed that the quinoa salad was not on their menu anymore. Older couple and their mom were sitting next to us, they apparently are not accustomed to seeing an interracial couple, they kept staring and listening to our conversation. Hands down the best restaurant in Franklin. I have been here for private functions on the upper level and countless meals and happy hours with friends and family. Love this place! It's different from most of the restaurants in the area - a little nicer, feels like you could be in Boston and not the suburbs. There can be a long wait on Friday and Saturdays but it's worth it and they have a nice bar area that's comfortable if you have to wait. The short ribs are amazing, comes with Parmesan risotto, which is delicious! Have yet to have a bad experience at Three. It can be a little pricey but the food and ambiance are great. read more

We tried the Sunday breakfast buffet...TERRIBLE! We arrived at 12:30 for the 10-2 buffet window. The food was picked over, dried up and stale. We ordered omelettes and they took almost 30 minutes, even though there was barely anyone else in the place. Shame on you 3!!! You have tarnished your relatively good reputation with this buffet...you're better off staying closed until 2:00 on a Sunday and leave the breakfast to others. read more

3 is our go-to restaurant for any occasion! Perfect for date night, drinks with friends, or dinner with the family. The service is always excellent. The servers are very friendly and knowledgable. Don't be surprised when a manager stops by to ask how things are and to make sure everyone is enjoying their meals. I've never had a dish at 3 that I didn't love. My favorite is the grilled swordfish with lobster risotto but recently I've been trying things off their summer menu and to no surprise it's all been delicious. They have the best key lime pie I've ever tasted, but unfortunately it's only on their summer menu so get it before it's too late! read more

3 USED TO BE our go to restaurant but not after the past few times. If you want fast food at fine restaurant prices then this is the place for you! It took me longer to get ready for a nice evening out with my husband then it did for our dinner. We even waited until we were almost done with our first drink until we ordered and then the dinners showed up less than 10 minutes later. It was tasty but didn't take long to eat as the portions were small. When the manager came by to ask how everything was and we said that the service was ridiculously fast - he laughed.
