This place has always been good when I've eaten here. Always had good service which is hard to find anymore.

This is probably the best Mexican food in Edmond. And the margaritas are bigger than your head! The service is always great, too.

We came here because I had read a lot of positive reviews and heard that they had white queso. My husband and I both love white queso! We came on a semi-busy night. We were given our salsa and white cheese sauce first thing (no chips). A few minutes later we got chips but had not been asked what we would like to drink. About 10 minutes went by, I was super thirsty and our waiter was nowhere to be found. I had a tickle in my throat and was coughing uncontrollably but I couldn't find anyone to ask for water. Finally, we got water, but did not get our orders taken. It was about 20 minutes in before we ordered (and we knew what we wanted when we sat down). We both ordered chimichangas. My husband's was okay, mine was the fajita steak and I took one bite and could not eat anymore. The meat was super gummy and the whole thing was soggy, not crispy at all. The chips weren't the best, the salsa was okay, and the white cheese sauce had a great flavor but was water thin. We did not try their queso that you could buy off the menu, hopefully that would be better. You can't complain too much about free cheese sauce. Overall, the experience was very sub-par. I gave them the 3 stars (instead of 1 or 2) because I know it's possible they were having an off night and maybe we got thr wrong waiter. Not planning on returning. read more

Mediocre at best. Interior: Nice lime green walls and decor. Well done! Music selection-great! Tables appeared clean but upon further inspection and my hand brushing against "dried, smeared, possibly swiped cheese droppings" (ewwww) not so clean. Looked at other tables and noticed same swiped-smeared-wiping. Staff: All male, all polite. Noticed a lot of hugs and smiles from patrons coming in and one gentleman who was working. Nice to see. Perhaps they know what secret menu items to order. Wish they'd let us in on the secret. Food: My Mom ordered chicken enchiladas and she said they were just "ok". That's pretty BAD for her as she orders this entree everywhere and loves it everywhere. Lol! I ordered a chimichanga since nothing on the menu really spoke to me. I haven't ordered a chimi since my college days-thIs chimi was NOT crispy whatsoever. Maybe chimis have changed?? It had a thin queso topping and inside was shredded chicken and two-TWO 1/2 slices of jalapeños. I "think" they were jalapeños but they had no taste. Pico de Gallo was mostly onions. Salsa tasted like ketchup with black pepper with a couple onions floating in it. Guacamole; mostly...onions. Drinks: we did NOT order drinks but they sure were pretty!! So my summation is that the menu is overpriced for what you get and we will NOT be back. Save your money unless you onions as your major flavoring. Spontaneously came here for dinner with my husband. GREAT place! I've been hearing about this place for awhile, driven by plenty of times, but have never had the opportunity to swing by. Pretty spacious place, so don't judge the building by just the outside. We were quickly seated and my husband LOVED how there were TVs around for him to watch different games going on. Service was super friendly, while getting to munch on their chips, salsa, and queso. Queso was eh, but salsa and chips were good. Suggestions were made and we ended up with enchiladas and the....skillet w/ chicken and cauliflower (one of their specials). DELICIOUS! Served w/ their tortillas and it was PIPING hot. Great service, food is very good and drinks are very strong! My only complaint is sometimes the restaurant is very cold, and I'm not a huge fan of how disrespectful and racist some of the guests are. I overhear them speaking poorly about staff that do not speak English well and it creates a "vibe" I do not like to be apart of. I will continue to go back to support this business though. The service here was exceptional. Our server had a great attitude and very friendly. The margaritas are also great. Now if you are one that likes your Queso runny like water, then you will like it. Very cold in building. I could barely eat. Food was ok but I was just freezing. Went and put my coat on and I was still cold. Love love LOVE this place. Staff are nice. Bussers can be hit or miss but it's family staffed and over all they are really great at running this small spot. We've been to 3 Tequilas many times. It's a local favorite and usually very busy during peak hours. That may be the reason that the service has suffered. The food has been consistently very good and the Margaritas are very popular! They have a small outdoor patio area but note it faces the parking lot so the view isn't a reason to sit outside. We were seated immediately (with menus) but it took about 10 minutes for a server to bring water and take drink orders. Our server was very friendly, but seemed extremely busy & had trouble understanding us. (Spoke very little English) One of the menus (binder style with about six pages) had food on one of the inside pages. (Queso and salsa blobs) We both ordered Fajita Chicken Chimichangas, and they were very good! The table chips and queso were kept full and our server did come back numerous times to see if things were Ok. They offer complimentary Sopapilla's with honey and ours were warm when served. Overall we still love this place and will definitely go back but I hope they take whatever action needed to improve service. read more

When we parked it smelled promising. Reminded me of taquerias in Reynosa. Alas it was just a rouse. The complementary chips, cheese and salsa; the cheese was great but the salsa was pico mixed with tomato sauce. The chips were thick and held up but needed salt. My husband ordered a fajita plate (chicken, beef & shrimp) the shrimp was over cooked and unseasoned. The rice and beans were good. The flour tortillas were meh. My flautas were made with ground beef . The corn tortillas were thick and crunch on top but soggy and soft underneath. Service was good and food came out fast but it was NOT delicious. This place has a more authentic Mexican feel to it than most Mexican restaurants I've been to in Edmond and OKC. The drinks are amazing..strong, but delicious. I would recommend trying their Pain Killers..it's kind of like a hurricane and like its name says..it gets rid of the pain . The food is tasty and my favorite is their white queso. You get chips, salsa, queso, and tortillas on request when you sit down to eat. If you don't order any other food the set up is $6, which isn't bad considering it's unlimited! So here is a very poorly kept secret: I'm a Mexican food fanatic and could eat it everyday. God love my poor husband, when we were expecting, I ate it at least every other day - if not every day four weeks at a time. So needless to say, I'm a super fan and when he called about a place in Edmond he heard about that we should try, I was all in. We came here on a Monday night around 830. It's much later than we normally eat dinner but we had a couple of errands to run and we live in Moore so it took a while to get there. We were greeted right away by a trio of friendly servers and hosts. We were sat immediately and brought chips, queso and chips. Now, it's true the servings of queso, which is white and delicious, are small but you can get more, so it's not a huge deal for me. The server brought us several types of salsas and something that reminded me of coleslaw. This "coleslaw" was basically onion, jalapeno, tequila and singer other spices that my pepper-belly husband really enjoyed...ever if there were tears welling up in his eyes. The giant menu perused, selections made and drink orders given allowed us a few minutes to take it all in. It's a quaint place with a few televisions and a nice patio. The customers there all seemed happy, so that should say something. We got our food and mine wasn't made the way I asked, but I didn't send it back. My husband's was messed up a little and he did send it back. It was corrected quickly. After he started eating, he got the Chile Colorado, I heard several, "mmmm's" and one, "oooh!" so I know he enjoyed it. Mine was just ok. I got the pick three with a taco, bean burrito and cheese enchilada. I will say the rice is really good. Both boys liked their meals just fine and ate almost all of them. I've been looking for a go-to Mexican restaurant for quite some time and I finally found it!! White queso, salsa and homemade tortillas come out right away and they are so delicious!! I rarely order off the lunch menu, but here the only difference between the lunch and dinner is the price - what a deal! I love going for lunch, paying a little less and still getting a full meal. Tonight was supposed to be a celebration. We were excited to go out to eat and I've always loved this spot. However, we are a family with three children 10 and under. We were seated outside on the patio next to a big table of college students. Their table was piled with plates and they'd been drinking. They were loud to begin with but then a yellow jacket appeared out of nowhere and all those kids started yelling and making this huge scene. They were using gross profanity around my kids. That was a huge turn off. However, what really upset me was that we were forgotten about. Literally left out there, a waitress passed by us 3 times and never acknowledged us. Someone dropped off chips and salsa but no one ever came back. For 35 minutes, with children, in the heat, with no water. Did I mention we had children with us? I got up and walked out after the waiter showed up. My husband has a higher tolerance for BS, so he stayed and got his food to go. If you guys don't have the staff, stop seating people. This is a really good spot for Mexican food. They seat you and you get a variety of salsa, delicious queso, and yummy avocado sauce. I ordered a margarita and was given a choice of a small, medium, or large. Let me say this: if you're drinking one by yourself, order a SMALL. I ordered a medium and it was gigantic! (I did finish it but am horribly full now LOL I regret nothing.) The medium was a bit smaller than many fish bowl style drinks I've had. There are several flavor choices: strawberry, banana, mango, and a few others. I got strawberry and it was pretty good. All the food we ordered was great, flavorful, and hot.
