Baked Zitti
Bisan A.

While searching for a restaurant to book for my birthday dinner, I stumbled across 388 Italian. I don't know where it's been hiding all my life, but I'm glad I finally found it. It's authentic, fresh Italian food fit for a family or large group. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, and service was amazing from start to finish. We got whole plates to share around, there were about 8 of us so these portions were perfect. We got the amatriciana capellini, chicken marsala, chicken salvatore, and baked ziti. Everything was delicious. I will definitely be back at 388 Italian to try more of the menu.

What a nightmare from start to finish. We heard it was Mateo's quality but boy was it so far off. The entry is in a strip mall w valet. Ok no big deal. Walk in bar was crowded so we had high hopes. Sat at a table in the front by window that faced all the dirty plates and garbage. The wine fridge also was in the front window. Ordered a cosmo. It came warm and sub par the rest of the drinks seemed ok. Bread seemed stale, baked clams were good, chopped salad was sad and flavorless tossed in a cheap dollar store bowl. Eggplant parm was so bad. Over breaded & sauce was acidic tasting. Tangy and not very good. The owner offered us gift cards to come back however we try to use it to pay the bill because we are never going back. The right thing to do would have been at least comp the drinks, we really weren't looking for a freebie. We wanted a good meal out. next time it's back to Renzos's or Mateos! Blech.

Excellent restaurant you can get individual dishes or large dishes for the table. Family style. We got the family style dishes for four. The prices are good to moderate there is a full bar selection. You can put in a dinner reservation ahead.

Five stars is not enough for the food and service we received. We were a large party and everything went flawlessly. The portions are HUGE so order accordingly. Our server Mauritzio (sorry about the spelling) was phenomenal. Management pitched to help serve as well. Although the food is served family style, it is not just plopped down in front of you. The server actually serves the food to you. Not many pictures because we were a hungry crowd. The best baked clams I've ever eaten. The pasta pomodoro, simple but so delicious. Great for groups and special occasions. Complementary valet parking.

The food and service were excellent, this restaurant truly has it all. Our server Albert went above and beyond, very personable and made sure we had a good meal. He made some recommendations which were spot on. The veal parmesan is the best i have ever had. It is so tender they cut it with a spoon. The fried calamari was tender and flavorful that you didn't even need to use the marinara sauce. Truly an outstanding restaurant!

Shrimp, chicken and vegetables with pasta and shrimp and spinach.

Fantastic food, great ambience, and a good value. I highly recommend this restaurant. The family portions will feed 2-3 people. The crunchy bread and bruschetta is fantastic.

I ordered the Tomato Cream Gnocchi and my boyfriend had the Mediterranean Combo. No exaggeration but this was the best gnocchi I've ever had. The dish changed my view on gnocchi and I'm now a converted fan. The texture was pillow soft with a bit of spring. The magic of this dish is how simple yet delicious it is. I loved a simple dish done well. The Mediterranean combo was a special of the night and it came with prawns, branzino, fried anchovies, and a salad. The combo was also just as goods. The seasoning was yet again, simple but delicious. The prawns were succulent, fish was high quality, and the fried anchovies surprised me. I loved all the proteins. I also tried the squid ink pasta and the seafood linguini. Both were good but the squid ink pasta was unique. I can't put my finger on the flavor but I liked it. Service was incredible and the chef was kind. He came out to talk to us and explained some of the dishes. The restaurant is homey and cozy. I felt like I was in Sicily. Overall, I highly recommend Savia. I can't wait to come back and try more.

They prefaced the meal with saying service can be slow, but will be worth the wait. Boy were they right. The service was quite slow (though we never wanted for water), but every single dish we had was fantastic. My half-Sicilian mother in law said the arancini are the best arancini she's ever had, and she goes back to Italy (mainland, albeit not Sicily) semi-frequently. But the experience itself, even with slow service; was amazing. It's intimate, they don't rush you, and you can tell they love their regulars. If you want something a little less popular but has truly excellent food, please try Savia, you won't be disappointed. Every item is good.

We had a large party of 18 and the waiter and his team took good care of us. The only complaint was the noise level. I could talk to the people next to me but not those across the table. The weather was perfect, and they had a beautiful table set for us. They even sprinkled "Happy Birthday" decorations on the table, which was such a thoughtful touch! We started with drinks (Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc for me, Grey Goose martini for my husband). Service was a bit slow at first--drinks and bread took a while--but honestly, we didn't mind much since we were just enjoying being together. For food, we had the Caesar salad with anchovies and croutons on the side (really good), Chicken Peter, lobster ravioli (delicious), and penne alla vodka. Everything was flavorful, and the portions were just right for sharing. For dessert, they asked what I wanted and my family ordered cheesecake. It came out with a big sparkler and they sang Happy Birthday, which I absolutely loved--such a fun and festive moment! The only small downside was that the dessert isn't complimentary, which felt a little unusual for a birthday celebration, but it didn't take away from the experience. Overall, it's definitely on the pricier side, but perfect for special occasions. I'd happily come back again to celebrate! And don't forget they have complimentary valet parking, so all you need is a tip!

True Italian feel. We were impressed with our server, Evan, and the owner stopping in to check on our meal. We had the Veal chop, which was outstanding with roasted brocolli and potatoes, and the special - gnochi with porcini mushrooms - from Italy. Both so good - and not a drop left. We also ordered the soup of the day - pasta fagiole. We finished every drop. The service was terrific, and the ambiance just right. We will be back!
