We are LI natives and go to the original frequently. The Boca version is going to be great soon. The facilities are beautiful. The Baked clams were great ! However our the entree required two attempts and yet didn't yet hit the level that we'd expected. The pasta was overcooked and lacked salt without salt the food all tasted flat. The "sauce" on the chicken parm tasted like tomato paste without any seasonings. The Owner Paulie is amazing and doing the best he can with local staff. I'm sure very soon it will be perfected. read more

We had such an amazing time! My parents have been eating at the 388 on Long Island for years so we had to come check this one out too. Food, service, and vibes all on point. I felt the prices were extremely reasonable for how much food you get, just be prepared to eat family style, which might be limiting to some if there are dietary variations. Wine selection was great too with a wide range of prices for everyone. We will be asking to come back every time we visit! read more

Went here for an anniversary dinner since my gf loves Italian cuisine but Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience. Upon arrival there no was immediate host to guide or seat us (weird). It was rather empty on a Friday night another red flag. The atmosphere was very outdated & felt apathetic. The servers were kind & attentive I'll give them that. Moving into the food. 1. Was in the mood for a pizza. So I ordered the only option they had on the menu, the Cauliflower pizza. Asked if they could add any pepperoni or toppings was met with a firm no. When it came out it honestly looked like a pizza from Chuck E. Cheese Barely any red sauce & abundant of cheese (not the good type). Had 2 slices and had to stop. 2. My Gf ordered rigatoni a la Vodka, she seemed to tolerate it but i knew she was just being generous. I tasted it and it was bland, undercooked, & lacking in all aspects. For such a huge Portion & price $30+ it was very upsetting the quality wasn't there. To conclude, it was obvious we were displeased with our food & experience, no manager even came over to offer us anything else or ask why we didn't like it. Such a shame. Food: 4.7/5 service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 We began with a half portion of fried calamari, and it was more than enough for 3 people. We then ordered a caesar salad, chicken milanese, and rigatoni all-a vodka. The salad dressing had great flavor, the salty notes from the anchovies added a delicious balance to the flavors. The chicken milanese was breaded beautifully and the chicken itself was noticeably fresh. I definitely recommend ordering this dish. The rigatoni was plentiful and flavorful, the prosciutto added the necessary salty touch to such a creamy sauce. Staff was very attentive, patient, and helpful. Will be back! read more

I had my family birthday party at 388 last night. Everything was so perfect! Not only was the food totally amazing but the service and attention to detail was the best! A special thanks to the manager, Ryan, and the server Lexi and staff for making mine and my granddaughters birthday extra special! We will certainly be back to eat with friends and I highly recommend this restaurant if you want delicious authentic, Italian Italian food in a great setting! read more

Since my initial review I have gone to 388 many times and loved it on each visit. 388 has it all with great food, excellent service, fair pricing, easy parking and a nice welcoming vibe. Need more reasons to go? Good drinks from friendly bartenders and really good complimentary bread. Since I have gone through much of the menu I can say that one of their signature dishes - Chicken Krak is different and ridiculously good. Other items are also good and portion size is large with sharing recommended. There are dozens of Italian restaurants on Federal Hwy in Boca and on intersecting East Palmetto and 388 might be the best. read more

Family style service is great for large parties and the wait staff was very attentive and quick to respond to requests. All the food from appetizers bread main dishes and desserts were very tasty. However what stood out was the veal francese...incredible. Those who know me are familiar with the fact that I never order veal. But I will drive to 388 especially for this dish. Always on the quest for new restaurants, particularly Italian, it was time to try this restaurant located on the east side of Boca. Upon entering the outdoor covered area was crowded and upon entering the dining room it too had a lot of activity, which was pleasing to see on a weeknight. It is obviously popular with the East Boca crowd. Our server told us that ownership stems from the Matteo's days (we were not a fan but presumably others were). In any event we delved into the following: Stuffed mushrooms which were too mushy and overstuffed with soggy breading. It took one bit and was done on this. My wife however did like the flavor. We then shared chicken parm and spicy rigatoni both which lacked flavor and were too be polite just "ok". After the uninspiring dinner elected to wrap up and head into the sunset. read more

I had written a previous review and gave this restaurant 5 stars for the food and service. That has not changed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am writing this because we have been to the restaurant on numerous occasions and always ask for the back room with John because it would be quiet and he is the best.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, when we arrived last night and went to the back room it was set up for an enormous celebration as a surprise party. People were milling around and since no one was eating the noise level was rediculous, especially if you want to enjoy good food and service in a relaxed atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I asked for the owner/manager and while one was sympathetic the other said they just booked the party a few days earlier. This is hard to imagine because that would mean that if there was no party then the room would have been empty except for 3 tables. I indicated that it would have been nice if they had called and warned us and given us the choice of moving to the front dining area. He said we are ONLY 4 people so they don't call for that amount of people. I do know that another table near us asked to be moved and was told there would be a 1/2 wait for the front room. At the present time we are not sure that we will ever come back to this restaurant since the possibility exists that this situation will occur again. Also since their indiction that only 4 people are not important enough to make a phone call does not sit well with me. read more

Had the best experience. Service was top notch including frequent water pours. You never felt neglected at any part of the meal. Complimentary bread plate was a nice touch. Waiter helped guide us through our order. We settled on full chicken parmesan and half vodka with a homemade pasta. Chicken was crispy and sauce was fresh. As for the pasta it was perfectly Al dente and sauce was so chunky with prosciutto and seasoned perfectly. Well priced for the portions. We ate outside in a covered area which was spacious and well ventilated. We will not wait too long to be back. read more

This is my first-ever Yelp review. We had dinner with friends at 388 Italian last night. The food and service were excellent, HOWEVER, we will never return. We were so aggressively rushed (multiple times) to leave. I've never been so overtly pushed to leave in my life. We didn't even finish our dessert, they practically took a water glass out of my friend's hands as he put it down. AWFUL experience, Never again for 388 Italian. read more

New place in town had to try it been reading a lot about it. must say I'm really glad I did. It's your family style which sometimes it's hard for me to go to a restaurant so before we left, we looked at the menu and our friends decided what we would share we had the shrimp Rory we just had 1/ 2 ordered. It was plenty for the two of us to share six shrimp, large and really nice burnt string beans delicious. We also had a1/2 chicken Parmesan for two people again more than enough for two people. of course it's up to what your appetite is but for the average person !! . We also had a Caesar salad. Full That was good , two glasses of wine and a piece of ricotta cheesecake, which was so so good !!!the waiter GeneM was outstanding he was helpful. He was friendly and he was informative. The ambience is really nice it's white it's a lot of tables outside and inside. I do understand if they're going to enclose it, which is even better went to the ladies room they did a great job, everyone was upbeat and friendly all the staff that waited on and waiters helpers great team work !!!can't wait till I return and try something else. I must say that you need reservations they do have valet and self parking !!!but as the world gets around more, it's gonna be harder and harder to get in there are not on any reservation site . You have to call to make the reservation. Hopefully that'll be change soon and they'll either be on Resy or OpenTable's or some other reservation platform so I highly recommend try to get in there before the holidays or make you plan now to reserve I think you'll really be pleasantly surprised of the quality quantity of the food and service read more

Gratuity should reflect the quality of both service and overall experience; being pressured for a higher tip despite the lack of attention was entirely out of line. To make matters worse, my follow-up call to management was equally disappointing. The response was all talk, no action. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism left a lasting negative impression.

This solid 4 star Italian restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with its warm and inviting ambiance. The service is great and friendly, hostess is welcoming. It was impressive to see the owner Ryan working hard in the dining room to make sure everyone had what they needed. The bruschetta placed on the table to start is delicious. The food is flavorful, very tasty and well-prepared, showcasing authentic Italian cuisine. However, the clam sauce and the shrimp franchese were a bit too salty for my taste. 388 Italian has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Boca. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with attention to detail. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between upscale and comfortable, making it perfect for anything from a casual dinner to a special occasion. What really stood out was the hospitality, Mena at the door made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and set the tone for a great experience. I have been to many restaurants in my life but we went to 388 in Boca and I don't know where to start. First off the food is by far the most incredible Italian food my family and I have ever had, the ambience is extremely on point, but the GM Jamie is by far one of the most amazing, personal and extremely professional. His charm and kindness is what truly makes our experiences over the top. When I speak to my friends, I always say the food is great and Jamie will always make your night perfect. First time diners. 5 people. Salad, baked clams, fried calamari,Fruitti Di Mare with capellini, shrimp Francese, chicken Salvatore, cannoli, some drinks, espressos, cappuccino. Everything was fantastic, family style portions were very plentiful. Some food was taken home, but not much considering how much we ordered. Decor is modern and bright, service was very attentive. Can't comment on price as we were invited by friends, lucky us. Noise level is high just like every other popular restaurant in South Florida. We look forward to returning. read more

Thank goodness it was complimentary as it was the worst thing I have ever been served in a fine dining restaurant. Small, warm, limp pieces of lettuce with 1 1/4 slice of a tomatoe with some house bottled dressing. I felt bad that this was our reintroduction to this restaurant. Others had the Trico Insalata ($15.75) which they said was just ok and 2 others had the Cesear salad which had a $7 upcharge and was not as good as a Publix bagged salad. Disappointing start. 3 different salads ordered all pretty weak. Entree's. 5 people eat them and 1 sent hers back. The house special lasagna was ok, possibly to many layers of noodles for my likely. The Veal Saltimbocca was a nice sized portion of semi tender veal layered with a quality prosciutto but overly seasoned with sage which overwhelmed from the dish. One said that the he liked the chicken scarpariello while those that had the fish ($41.95) thought it to be mushy and previous cooked then warmed up... yikes. At this point we opted to forgo dessert and wrap it up even though we were having a good time. The best part of the evening was when the GM / Owner / Maitre D took 1 of the entrees off our bill. With as many Italian restaurants in SFL, La Villetta will have to really step up its game to compete in this market. At this point I see no good reason to return until I hear differently.
