388 is a restaurant favorite in my family. They have something for everyone on their menu. We ordered their meatball parm sliders, eggplant parmigiana, brussel sprouts, fries, Caesar salad, lamb chops, chicken paillard, etc. Everything was delicious, but our favorite was the eggplant parmigiana. I also really like how they have round tables which makes it a great spot for large parties because everyone is able to talk to one another. They have another location in Boca Raton, Florida. I recommend it if you're looking for quality family style food.

A few weeks ago, my family and I had dinner at 388 and it was amazing! Our waiter, Joe, really made the experience special. He was incredibly friendly, walked us through the whole menu, and gave us great recommendations for drinks and appetizers. We started with the meatballs, which were huge and delicious. For entrees, we had the chicken parm, the sauce was incredible and everything tasted so fresh. For dessert, I highly recommend the tiramisu. Everyone in my family loved their meals, and we can't wait to go back.

Staff and management work very hard to give you the best they possibly can. Food is off the charts and served family style.

    Lamb chops with rosemary potatoes

Stopped here for a second time and it was so good! The bread and bruschetta they bring you is delicious. We then had the Caesar salad which was very good. Everything is family style so for dinner we shared lamp chops with rosemary potatoes and the frutti di mare linguine. Both were excellent. The seafood in the linguine was very tender absolute perfection. Restaurant was still busy for a week day. Service was excellent.

We have been going to 388 for many years. It's basically very good Brooklyn Family style Italian food. The owners and waiters are very attentive to the customers. Our waiter this evening Marty "McFly" was fantastic. I think we amazed him with how much we eat ...lol. We will definitely put in our rotation more often.

Penne alla vodka & chicken parm

My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's Day dinner and it was excellent. The service was fantastic--though they were busy, we were seated and in and out pretty quickly. We had the Caesar salad, baked clams, penne alla vodka, and chicken parmigiana. This was the best chicken parm I've ever had! The ambiance was beautiful, especially decorated for Valentine's Day. All around it was a great experience with spectacular service and delicious food!

TLDR: Tasty/filling value Italian. 388 Italian is one of those places that reminds you why dining in Long Island is awesome. Any dish that has Krak in it you should order. Randomly popped in with family. So much value, I almost was questioning who eats this much food. Nonetheless, 388 definitely gives you your money's worth. Split a fried calamari, baked clams, pasta a la (Alex/Chris/Joey - the one with lotsa meat) something, chicken parm and the shrimp Krak. Calamari was tender with a very light dusting for batter. Clams were tasty although a bit small and on the pricier side. The pasta with the meat was tasty. Chicken parm was solid. The Krak is probably what they're known for. I don't know what it is exactly but it tastes like garlic, vinegar peppers and a crap ton of butter. It's garlicky, savory, rich, tangy and delicious. Come with a big team, wearing even bigger sweatpants. You roll out of here, happy, full and food coma'd AF.

    Rigatoni Bolognese

SO GOOD! The Shrimp Luciano was amazing. Veal Marsala you cut with your fork. The Rigatoni Bolognese was lights out-the pasta was truly al dente and flavorful. Fried zucchini and baked clams as apps were good. Great drinks! Cosmos, Espresso martinis and Old Fashioneds. Fun, classy atmosphere - 'modern old school' - and attentive service. Looking forward to our next visit!!

We ordered the bronzino and steak and especially the steak was incredible. We also had the fall salad which they had thoughtfully put in two plates. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, which obviously isn't the restaurant's fault. What WAS incredibly disappointing was their solution: instead of seating us inside the actual restaurant, they walked us over to a completely separate, off-premise catering room nearby. We were literally the ONLY people sitting in this random room. It felt like we had been removed from the restaurant entirely and stuck in an overflow event space and not exactly the birthday dinner or Felice experience we made a reservation for. What made it worse was the host's attitude. Despite there appearing to be plenty of available tables inside the actual restaurant, she flat-out refused to seat us there and essentially told us we could either sit in the catering room or go somewhere else. No apology, no attempt to accommodate us, and honestly just incredibly dismissive and rude. It was such a bizarre and unwelcoming way to treat first-time guests. The food at least started off strong. The bruschetta and eggplant were both great! For dinner, we had the chicken Milanese and cacio e pepe, and neither was anything special. Our server was nice and the service itself was pretty good so I don't want that to go unnoticed BUT being shoved into an empty catering room and basically told to take it or leave it by the host completely overshadowed the rest of the night. For somewhere we were genuinely excited to try, it was an awful first impression and definitely not the experience we expected.

It's small but nice in here, had always known about Il Mulino but just recently tried it. Got two prefix lunches. They provide a complimentary bread basket with focaccia, some parmigiano and zucchini chips. Starters we chose beef carpaccio and octopus. The carpaccio is classic, pounded thin, shaved parmigiano and a lemony arugula salad on top. The octopus is tender and served with pickled onions and a frisee salad. Mains, did the lobster ravioli and the steak frites. Large size ravioli but three pieces, so they do go quickly. The lobster is mixed in with the ricotta which is quite soft. The steak portion was decent but keep in mind also a $10 add-on. Cooked a bit more well than I'd like but the sauce was good. Desserts were a panna cotta and flourless chocolate cake. The panna cotta has a more bouncy jello-like consistency. Chocolate cake was good. Not bad options for a PF lunch but definitely standard menu will add up fast.

Like most three-course special menus, there are upcharges for various selections. Sometimes in retrospect I regret ordering three courses because a single entrée is sufficient. That was the case here because I was almost full after eating their chopped salad appetizer and the heated Italian bread and butter that preceded the entrée. I was surprised because an appetizer salad is often a small or medium sized plate, but here it's a full sized platter. Also, I ate it all, when I could've taken home half. Ditto for my entrée, their chicken marsala. I know that some of our friends purposely take home half of everything, so they get two meals out of one order. My decision, however, piggy as sounds, was that one of their included desserts was the tiramisu, which I have trouble resisting ... to the point where I try to sample them in as many restaurants and bakeries as possible, as if someday, somewhere, I'll submit an article on the subject ... "Tiramisus of Long Island and NYC." The food and service were very good, we had a large round table in the back, that made it easy for us to talk, a nice tablecloth and thick napkins, but I've had better tiramisu. A free glass of white or red wine came with the special, but I didn't like mine and should, like my son, have gotten a diet Coke instead (a permissible substitution). The parking situation was a minor hassle in that there was no valet, and while a sign in front of the restaurant suggested parking in the lot across the street, when we went there, the signs said that after 5:30 PM they'll tow you away, so we found a spot in the neighborhood and walked a few blocks. We'd be happy to go back, although there are Italian restaurants just as good that are closer to where we live. This Matteo's was half way between where we five reside, and convenience matters, especially on a weekday night.

The ambiance was warm and inviting, and every single person from the host to the bartender to our server and everyone in between played a part in making the night feel special. The attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine kindness did not go unnoticed, and it set the tone for the entire evening. We were first greeted with warm bread and olive oil, which was absolutely delightful and the perfect start. Our server, Paulino (I hope I'm spelling his name right), guided us through the menu with such care and knowledge, which made the experience even better. We started with the mussels Bianco and baked clams both were outstanding, easily a 9/10. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, we had the branzino and a pasta dish that was nothing short of amazing. The attention to detail like freshly cracked pepper added right at the table made everything feel elevated and thoughtfully done. To end the night, I mentioned that my mom had just passed her real estate exam and that we were celebrating her. They went above and beyond by bringing out an apple crostini with a candle, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. And yes, we devoured the entire thing. It was that good. Truly a 10000/10 moment. What made this experience even more meaningful is that it came after a long, stressful day at the ER. Walking into such warmth, care, and genuine hospitality meant more than I can put into words. Thank you again for the incredible service, attentiveness, and overall experience. I truly wish I could remember everyone's names because each person we encountered was a pleasure. Please let them know my mom and I are so grateful. The restaurant, Gatsby's Landing, draws its name from the romantic nostalgia of The Great Gatsby. Situated near the Long Island Sound and Roslyn Pond, the setting offered a beautiful waterfront ambiance. My wife opted for the Baby Roasted Beets Salad, Salmon, and Crème Brûlée, while I chose the Lobster Bisque, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Tiramisu. The menu highlights their commitment to fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients - a promise they certainly delivered on. The dishes were both delicious and generously portioned. It was clear the kitchen doesn't skimp on quality; for instance, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster meat, the squid ink tonnarelli featured an abundance of blue crab, and the salmon was a substantial, thick-cut fillet. The chef clearly possesses a mastery of technique, knowing exactly how to pair garnishes and balance flavors in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the waitstaff was both diligent and courteous. We can see why this establishment is so popular--the combination of exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and the serene lake views is hard to beat. However, there is one area for improvement: the restaurant should consider replacing their current chipped plates with larger, more elegant dinnerware. High-quality presentation would better reflect the dignity and caliber of the food they serve.

Fortunately, we did arrive early, since over the next hour the restaurant filled up, with quite a few people waiting for a table. The restaurant is unpretentious, with seating fairly close together. Now for the food. Before ordering, the owner stopped by, and told us some of the restaurants history, and him being the longtime owner of over 4 decades. He then recited the evenings specials along with interjecting a couple of very funny stories. Each special sounded incredible, and we began our meal with a couple of glasses of a tasty Montepulciano. We shared, one the evening's special appetizers of luscious & creamy zucchini flowers. For entrees my wife ordered one the specials of shrimp stuffed with lump crab meat, in a lobster sauce. She couldn't stop talking about how fantastic it tasted. My only comment was although outstanding, the portion size consisted of 4 shrimp, which was more than enough for my wife, but someone with a bigger appetite may find the order a bit skimpy. For my entree I was drawn to something, which I rarely see on a menu, chicken livers. Although, I thought, for sure, that was what I would choose, the owner in going over the specials cited some of the best menu items, one of which was lasagna. I then told the owner about my dilemma, and I asked him to choose, and the lasagna won out. Although, I missed not having the chicken livers, I consider myself a lasagna aficionado, and, without question, this lasagna moved up to near the top of the list. We ended the meal by having a homemade chocolate layer cake, which was divine. I apologize for not taking any pictures, but I was so excited about the food that my taste buds overrode any thoughts of snapping photos. Finally, definitely run to this restaurant ASAP, but, if possible, I recommend, if possible, to go during the week to avoid the crowds of an obviously very popular restaurant.
