I start with the service -one of the owners Troy introduced himself and was very warm and made sure we were taken cared of -our waiter could not be more attentive and friendly Then the food -we ordered half portions (good move) coz servings are big -baked clams and calamari for appetizers -seafood pasta and chicken franchaise -all 4 were delicious The ambiance -mature/upscale -black and white -clean -very good crowd and vibe -noise was was energetic and not very noisy -brick wall outside the window on the side was a nice touch so that you don't see that you are looking at a residential side street in Albertson -toilets were clean Price and Value -for the size of the portions and the quality of the food you are getting the price was very fair and great value I highly recommend this place and will come back again. A fantastic dinner we just had tonight! We've returned several times since my last review, and the experience has been consistently excellent every time. Tyson, one of the owners, warmly greeted us upon arrival and kept us updated during our short wait. Even on a Monday evening, the dining room was already packed and buzzing with energy. Glenn, our server tonight, is always funny, personable, and wonderful. He made us feel right at home, as always. I had my usual favorite, the family-style Calabrian Linguine with garlic and oil, topped with toasted 4C spicy breadcrumbs. I had been craving it, and it absolutely hit the spot! Hubby ordered the half-size Chicken Dino with boneless chicken over escarole and beans, fresh artichoke hearts, and spicy cherry peppers. He loved it! I had some of the escarole, beans, and artichoke hearts, and they were honestly some of the best I've ever had. We even had plenty left over to enjoy the next day! What truly sets this restaurant apart, though, is the exceptional hospitality. Tyson, Matthew, Glenn, and the entire team genuinely make their guests feel valued and appreciated. John A., who served us a few months ago, even stopped by to say hello and made a point of saying goodbye when we left. Those thoughtful personal touches say so much about the kind of place this is. Came with a group for a business dinner which I didn't have to pay for, so I can't say anything about the prices. However, what's deceiving is that on the menu you can order your portion for one person, or for 2-3 people. If we all knew, we would have ordered the 2-3 person serving for each of us because the serving for one person I would barely call a serving. I had chicken and it was a small, very flat piece of chicken cutlet. I'm truly not sure where the "2-3 people" comes in because that serving is two pieces of chicken, as we saw when someone ordered that serving for themself. The whole table kind of laughed and said "if two small pieces serves up to three people, what's the third person going to eat?" It is pretty inside and after a certain time there's a DJ by the bar & that area reminded me of the Jersey Shore cast in their 50s clubbing it up which is entertainment in itself. read more

388 is a restaurant favorite in my family. They have something for everyone on their menu. We ordered their meatball parm sliders, eggplant parmigiana, brussel sprouts, fries, Caesar salad, lamb chops, chicken paillard, etc. Everything was delicious, but our favorite was the eggplant parmigiana. I also really like how they have round tables which makes it a great spot for large parties because everyone is able to talk to one another. They have another location in Boca Raton, Florida. I recommend it if you're looking for quality family style food. read more

A few weeks ago, my family and I had dinner at 388 and it was amazing! Our waiter, Joe, really made the experience special. He was incredibly friendly, walked us through the whole menu, and gave us great recommendations for drinks and appetizers. We started with the meatballs, which were huge and delicious. For entrees, we had the chicken parm, the sauce was incredible and everything tasted so fresh. For dessert, I highly recommend the tiramisu. Stopped here for a second time and it was so good! The bread and bruschetta they bring you is delicious. We then had the Caesar salad which was very good. Everything is family style so for dinner we shared lamp chops with rosemary potatoes and the frutti di mare linguine. Both were excellent. My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's Day dinner and it was excellent. The service was fantastic--though they were busy, we were seated and in and out pretty quickly. Visiting family in my childhood hometown, we decided to bring in dinner for our crowd (8 adults). Ordering a spread of pastas, chicken, seafood dishes, and salads, we had a tasty cross section of the restaurant's specialties. Having tried a bit of everything, I attest that there was no failures - everything was excellent. And, if 388's take-out is this good, dining on site must be exceptional. The simple chopped salads were assembled with a focus on presentation and fresh greens. Crisp and cool, despite being take out. House oil and vinegar dressing was all it took to finish. The pastas - rigatoni in vodka sauce and linguine with olive oil and garlic - were precisely al dente and seasoned perfectly. Both sauces were luscious. Several chicken dishes were tender and diverse. The parmigiana retained the right hint of crisp and breading remained on the protein, covered liberally with mozzarella but not overdone. The chicken was thinly pounded but juicy, cutting easily with a fork. "Krak" chicken was chunky bites thickly sauced with a wonderful bite of peppers. The country chicken Scarpariello and sausage had both proteins treated respectfully to bring out the best flavors intermingled with fresh vegetables. The sausage conveyed a delectable hint of anise and observably lacked the too common inclusion of gristle that can easily ruin a top dining experience. The sausage was meaty with a silky consistent internal texture. I'd put both dishes to the top of a list when ordering. Like its terrestrial counterpart, the shrimp "Krak" could not be more surprisingly exciting. The jumbo shrimps were flawlessly cooked. Forks fought for pole position. If I think on it, I can make my tongue and palate salivate on command in Pavlovian anticipation. Uncommonly good sides of charred broccoli with garlic and fried cauliflower disappeared in a flurry of plates and utensils. I'm told that the Kobe meatballs are sinful indulgences. And, though we also did not order any veal, I can certainly extrapolate that the attention to details for pasta, chicken, and seafood, would predict equivalent mastery from the kitchen. I look forward to enjoying 388's fare again, from the viewpoint of in-house dining. Very, very, (very!) highly recommended!! read more

By far my favorite Italian restaurant. My son and I were traveling back from Albany and stumbled on this place when we got stuck in a thunderstorm. They were very accommodating and seating us when we arrived without a reservation. Service was top notch, food was delicious and the hit of the night was when my son was invited into the kitchen to make his own sundae. Randomly popped in with family. So much value, I almost was questioning who eats this much food. Nonetheless, 388 definitely gives you your money's worth. Split a fried calamari, baked clams, pasta a la (Alex/Chris/Joey - the one with lotsa meat) something, chicken parm and the shrimp Krak. Calamari was tender with a very light dusting for batter. Clams were tasty although a bit small and on the pricier side. The pasta with the meat was tasty. Chicken parm was solid. The Krak is probably what they're known for. I don't know what it is exactly but it tastes like garlic, vinegar peppers and a crap ton of butter. It's garlicky, savory, rich, tangy and delicious. Come with a big team, wearing even bigger sweatpants. You roll out of here, happy, full and food coma'd AF. read more

Had a party of 12 at 388 over the weekend. What a disaster and disappointment. From the moment we sat down we felt like we were being pushed into a fire drill. They wanted to turn the table over so fast they were rushing us, the food and the service that it was utterly uncomfortable. From the server splashing sauce in the face and clothing (and not even apologizing) to even being offered free round of drinks at the bar if we helped them turn the table over. I don't care if it's a weekend. Spread your reservations out wider. People don't spend 4 figures to feel like they are being rushed out the door. Horrible service and even worse excuse by manager. Lots of places to eat we can spend our money. This won't be one of them. read more

The rare restaurant where I wish Yelp let you give more than five stars. This place is absolutely incredible! For starters, the bread was warm and toasty and the Caesar salad was probably the best I've ever had. The chicken parm was unreal - perfect flavor, nice crisp, and absolutely divine; the rigatoni vodka was also cooked to al dente perfection and so flavorful. Oscar was an amazing server and checked in regularly, making sure we were enjoying everything. The one disappointment was the brownie desert, which was a bit more cakey than expected from a brownie, but we will certainly be back to 388, which might just be the best restaurant I've been to in years. read more

Last night we called 388 last minute at 830 looking for a 3 person table and they made it happen in 15 minutes! The space itself looks good, they have valet which was helpful but you can find street parking considering its next to residential houses. The baked clams were excellent, although there's need to be a notice that there's Parmesan cheese on it. It came SUPER hot which I absolutely love. For the entree, it's family style meals. We did the chicken Salvatore which was excellent (thin), along with the rigatoni pomodoro which was easy to tell that it's homemade. the red sauce was straight from Nonna's heart. For dessert - I was sooo excited to see the sorbets were old school! The orange sorbet came in an orange - I rarely see this style anymore. Overall, I enjoyed my strong jack and coke and our waiter was the coolest stand up guy. Overall I can't wait to come back. read more

Had dinner here tonight and food was delicious. Had the chopped salad, fried calamari, baked clams, veal Marsala, penne alla vodka, Fresh mozzarella cheese and beefsteak tomatoes, Chicken Milanese. To end the meal had coffee and the light and airy Napoleon dessert. Everything was fresh and hot when it arrived and did I say delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The calamari was cooked perfectly not chewy with the right amount of crispiness on the outside. The baked clams was delicious and the penne alla vodka was great. I couldn't stop eating it. I really want to like this place, but it's a factory that serves "pizza parlor" food that is soaked in butter, salt and cheese. They keep customers coming back by making them feel important while they suck every dollar out of their wallets. Food is plentiful and always great service here ! Matty and Chris run a great operation. The chicken Alla Steve is excellent grilled chicken lightly breaded with sautéed onions. Yum. The pasta is always cooked perfectly. Can't go wrong with the chicken heroin or the Veal Valdostana ! The chicken parm sliders are also always good. Haven't ordered anything here I didn't enjoy. This is my review on takeout. Have you been here? This place is super amazing! We had a takeout order recently and I saw they set up the outdoor dining very nicely. They turned their outside lounge into a dining spot, it's like a wedding space. The lounge is still there, adjacent to it. Inside is another big space embracing the classic looks of a bistro. Beautiful interior and exterior. We had chicken scarpariello and linguini in clam sauce to go. Wow! I voted the best chicken scarpariello at this place! I've tried this dish at many restaurants, but most look and taste the same but this Chicken scarpariello was crispier than ever! I believe the crisp was the result of the broiler, that's why it was so good! We also enjoyed the hot cherry pepper in this container. On top of that, they put in the veal sausage, which I didn't eat, but Hubby said it was delicious too. The chicken dish was so delicious with or without everything else. The linguini with clam sauce was very good too. A lot of roasted garlic in both dishes, just the way I like it! The portion size was extremely large. Superb! I plan to dine in with Hubby next time. The servings are somewhat family style, or definitely shareable at the least if you go in a group. Their calamari, bruschetta, and krak chicken were especially delicious. I had asked our server a ton of questions about the menu and his suggestion was krak chicken. Typically it comes as shrimp but they'll make it as chicken too which I highly recommend. I would describe it as Italian Buffalo sauce, which trust me - it's great. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere; upscale and not too noisy but lively enough. Food: Plain good old Italian food. Everything we had was tasty. The portions are huge. Prices are reasonable for the portion that you get. We had fried zucchini, calamari, chicken parmigiana, linguini with pesto and cheesecake. My favorite thing that I had was the cheesecake and I am not a dessert person. It was a light, fluffy, lemony ricotta cheesecake! Probably the best Italian cheesecake I ever had. We also got two bottles of wine. I don't remember the names but the wine that they carry here is very good. Service: it was just okay. We had a reservation and we had to wait a while. The bar and entrance was so packed that we got pushed around while waiting. Our waiter was friendly but didn't give us much of his time . He seemed to be in a rush. Let's start with the food. The food was probably one of the best Italian meals I have had. Everything was super fresh and delicious. The restaurant was extremely busy but everyone was amazing providing service. My husband and I came for a date night and didn't realize that the restaurant was family style lol. Either way we ordered and ate our asses off! Everything was amazing and even had a bit to take home! The restaurant ended up needing us to move our table and we got moved to an even better table and took such good care of us seeing as how we have a baby at home and don't get out much. We went with a party of 8 on the Saturday before Christmas at the highest time of 8p. Given we had a reservation but we waited no more than 10-15 minutes at the bar for them to seat us & they were SLAMMED. Right off the bat we were impressed how quickly the manager sat us & he checked in with us regularly at the bar to let us know the status. Our waitress was really great, attentive but not pushy or over the top. Very helpful with deciding the portions & she picked perfectly. All of our food was delish, all the meats we ordered, chicken & veal, are able to be cut by spoons bc they were so tender. Not that we would know though bc every single item that got to our table every food runner & our waitress would serve us. Which honestly was so helpful with a party of our size. We were all ranting and raving about how great the food was & the entire atmosphere. We enjoyed thoroughly & will definitely be back.
