    Inside of the Napoleon

Been here twice now, once back in Dec. 2023 when they offered Prix Fixe meals for $40/pp. It was the best deal - appetizer, entree and dessert. Choices were about half of the regular menu but very manageable. Last visit was Valentine's Day with my family. The restaurant was 85% full but still lucky I made a reservation. Given the snowfall the day before, it could have been hit or miss. Reservations made on Open Table, super easy. Appetizers we enjoyed: - prosciutto and mozzarella, you can choose 2 or 4 slices of prosciutto and then it's paired with huge cut pieces of fresh mozzarella. Plating wise, wish they had more fresh basil or garnish for color. And the mozzarella portion which was generous but oddly sized. Like balls split into halves. See photo. - grilled octopus with cannelloni beans over greens with vinegar and olive oil. Favorite appetizer of the night. - second favorite appetizer was the meatballs. Excellent sauce. - previous visit I had the baked clams and stuffed mushrooms. Those were good, same breading though so I probably should have ordered differently. Entrees: - veal milanese was delicious. Thin pieces of veal, nice shareable portions, breaded and served with fresh cut up tomatoes and chunks of fresh mozzarella. Again missing some green but it was really good. - mushroom pasta was creamy and rich. Enjoyed this. - Veal Parmesan was again, generous portions. Great sauce. - penne a la vodka with prosciutto, needed more sauce but it was very robust in flavor. This one had parsley on top, gave it a nice finished look. Complimentary bread basket and butter on the table. Nice table setting and when the waitress realized how cramped our table was, she opened up the panels on three sides, to give us more surface area. That made the dining experience more enjoyable. Desserts were also generous in portion. Can't believe that Napoleon was for an individual portion. Totally recommend this place but someone needs to work on the plating to make the dishes just a little extra.

Food was delicious and the service was great! They were very attentive, our water glass's were never empty! We opted to do the 3 course price fix dinner. Such a great deal and a nice place for a Friday night dinner! The ambiance was quite nice, and it was a good meal.

I've been to this location twice and really enjoyed it. It has a modern open airy vibe and the staff was attentive. Both times I had the prix fix (not available Fri or Sat). Both meals were good but unfortunately I became very sick after my most recent meal. I'm not sure if it was the Cesar salad or the salmon and spinach. Still, I'll probably give it one more try... I'm hoping it was just a fluke.

Busy night here for restaurant week.

This is another one of those restaurants that I don't go to often then after I leave, can't understand why. This shop is not far from me, parking is easy, the place is big-bright with a lot of electricity in the air. They have been here for many years and they have a definite group of regulars you will see here all the time. My wife and I came during restaurant week. We ordered calamari to start. Perfect, just perfect. Great crispy coating with a very tender calamari inside. Very tasty too. We also had the baked clams which were delicious. A nice crispy light baked breading over a tender-delicious little neck clam. Both had enough liquid in the serving dished to properly dip our bread. Main dishes included Shrimp Oregenata for my wife and I had the Sole Oregenata. These dishes were prepared perfectly. The shrimp were tasty and cooked perfectly. A light brown bread crumb over the shrimp. My sole was also prepared the same way.. The two entrees were hot and loaded with flavor. We came late and they were still very busy. I was impressed at the attention to detail that. the waiter always showed and just how pleasant he was. I realize that it gets tougher as it gets later and this is an amazing team of people. Perhaps that why this restaurant has been here so long. KUDOs to the team at Matteo's Trattoria

There was a small parking lot and upon entry parts of the place was still under renovation. Since we had early dinner there were families dining and the place was overall empty. Our server was knowledgeable and was upselling alcohol to my husband. When he told the server he wanted ginger ale, the server stated that they did not have ginger ale so he had to settle for a glass of wine. We ordered from the Sunday Supper prix fixe menu. We received complimentary bread, salami and zucchini. For the appetizers we ordered the eggplant rollatini, mussels and minestrone soup. For the main entrees I ordered the ravioli al porcini with truffle and veal marsala. I loved the ravioli with truffle. Portions were small. Dessert was served with a sampler of cake slices. I would definitely love to return especially that their prix menus have been expanded but unfortunately they do not have the items we ordered in their current prix fixe menus.

We ordered and immediately were given plenty of appetizers prior to the ordered appetizers. Fresh cheese, sliced zucchini, bread, bruschetta and some wine, of course. We would not have come back except we had plans with friends who wanted to meet here. So glad we did! My main complaint before was the acoustics. The renovation with added decor to dampen noise did the trick. I didn't even notice that the restaurant was full. We ordered different dishes and ate it family style so got to try a few different dishes. I didn't order so don't know the specific names but we shared a salad, a spicy calamari, egg yolk ravioli, black linguini with seafood, catfish, and a veal parm. I especially enjoyed the ravioli. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and every single person from the host to the bartender to our server and everyone in between played a part in making the night feel special. The attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine kindness did not go unnoticed, and it set the tone for the entire evening. We were first greeted with warm bread and olive oil, which was absolutely delightful and the perfect start. Our server, Paulino (I hope I'm spelling his name right), guided us through the menu with such care and knowledge, which made the experience even better. We started with the mussels Bianco and baked clams both were outstanding, easily a 9/10. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, we had the branzino and a pasta dish that was nothing short of amazing. The attention to detail like freshly cracked pepper added right at the table made everything feel elevated and thoughtfully done. To end the night, I mentioned that my mom had just passed her real estate exam and that we were celebrating her. They went above and beyond by bringing out an apple crostini with a candle, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. And yes, we devoured the entire thing. It was that good. Truly a 10000/10 moment. What made this experience even more meaningful is that it came after a long, stressful day at the ER. Walking into such warmth, care, and genuine hospitality meant more than I can put into words. Thank you again for the incredible service, attentiveness, and overall experience. I truly wish I could remember everyone's names because each person we encountered was a pleasure. Please let them know my mom and I are so grateful. We dined on April 3rd around 9 PM, and it's a night we won't forget.

A few months ago, I had an amazing Filet of Sole Francese at an old-school Italian restaurant in the Bronx and had been craving it ever since. Tonight, I finally found a version here that completely satisfied that craving. The fish was incredibly fresh, lightly egg-battered, tender, and packed with flavor in a bright lemon sauce. Absolutely delicious. It also came with a side of spinach generous enough to be shared by two people -- another photo opportunity I completely forgot about. I also ordered the full-size Calabrian Linguine with garlic and oil toasted with 4C spicy breadcrumbs, which continues to be my favorite dish here. Hubby enjoyed his favorite Chicken Dino, served family-style. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and generously portioned, with enough leftovers for tomorrow. What truly makes this restaurant stand out is the hospitality. One of the owners, Tyson, is always gracious and makes guests feel genuinely welcomed. Our server, Glenn, was personable, attentive, and excellent from start to finish. The bus staff were also incredibly efficient throughout the evening. Between the delicious food, outstanding service, and classic white-tablecloth atmosphere, this remains one of our favorite places to dine. We always leave happy and looking forward to coming back.

The restaurant, Gatsby's Landing, draws its name from the romantic nostalgia of The Great Gatsby. Situated near the Long Island Sound and Roslyn Pond, the setting offered a beautiful waterfront ambiance. My wife opted for the Baby Roasted Beets Salad, Salmon, and Crème Brûlée, while I chose the Lobster Bisque, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Tiramisu. The menu highlights their commitment to fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients - a promise they certainly delivered on. The dishes were both delicious and generously portioned. It was clear the kitchen doesn't skimp on quality; for instance, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster meat, the squid ink tonnarelli featured an abundance of blue crab, and the salmon was a substantial, thick-cut fillet. The chef clearly possesses a mastery of technique, knowing exactly how to pair garnishes and balance flavors in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the waitstaff was both diligent and courteous. We can see why this establishment is so popular--the combination of exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and the serene lake views is hard to beat. However, there is one area for improvement: the restaurant should consider replacing their current chipped plates with larger, more elegant dinnerware. High-quality presentation would better reflect the dignity and caliber of the food they serve.

Fortunately, we did arrive early, since over the next hour the restaurant filled up, with quite a few people waiting for a table. The restaurant is unpretentious, with seating fairly close together. Now for the food. Before ordering, the owner stopped by, and told us some of the restaurants history, and him being the longtime owner of over 4 decades. He then recited the evenings specials along with interjecting a couple of very funny stories. Each special sounded incredible, and we began our meal with a couple of glasses of a tasty Montepulciano. We shared, one the evening's special appetizers of luscious & creamy zucchini flowers. For entrees my wife ordered one the specials of shrimp stuffed with lump crab meat, in a lobster sauce. She couldn't stop talking about how fantastic it tasted. My only comment was although outstanding, the portion size consisted of 4 shrimp, which was more than enough for my wife, but someone with a bigger appetite may find the order a bit skimpy. For my entree I was drawn to something, which I rarely see on a menu, chicken livers. Although, I thought, for sure, that was what I would choose, the owner in going over the specials cited some of the best menu items, one of which was lasagna. I then told the owner about my dilemma, and I asked him to choose, and the lasagna won out. Although, I missed not having the chicken livers, I consider myself a lasagna aficionado, and, without question, this lasagna moved up to near the top of the list. We ended the meal by having a homemade chocolate layer cake, which was divine. I apologize for not taking any pictures, but I was so excited about the food that my taste buds overrode any thoughts of snapping photos. Finally, definitely run to this restaurant ASAP, but, if possible, I recommend, if possible, to go during the week to avoid the crowds of an obviously very popular restaurant.
