I've been to 3rd Base a few times now. Good place to come watch a game and vibe with friends. At night it lowkey turns into a legit club. Music is on point, and I've never had any issues with the staff. During my last visit I tried the 3rd Base loaded nachos, and it was fire! Huge portion and the chips were cooked perfectly! The toppings were also layered just right. It's a must try! One downside is that the bar is on the smaller side, so it can get packed at night. And if there's a big game or event going on, they will likely charge a cover or sell tickets to get in. So not the best play on those days unless you want to pay $20-50 just to be present. I've been coming to this place for a few years and I must say they don't disappoint. The atmosphere is lit - the DJ is fire and the drinks and food are pretty good. It's hit or miss with your server and there is rarely street parking available. I usually valet which is an additional $20-30 per car. I always try something new to eat and it's always yummy. The Margarita tower is a must and it's shareable. I usually get the mango or passion fruit flavor but they have about 6 different flavors. Unfortunately the food looked good but decided to leave after getting boned by service... first impression ruined. Upon being seated we were asked to order drinks and were told that no drinks off if their cocktail menu could be made because "no bartender showed up" and they could only do "basic drinks". I ordered a whiskey neat and was given a dirty glass with a crack all the way down it. I am so beyond disappointed. DO NOT GO HERE. We didn't order food. No one approached us to order a drink. I had to get someone's attention. The drinks were O K. The women's restroom was ATROCIOUS. It's not the best food ever. I wouldn't crave it or go back. I think it's more of a vibe and take pics of the patron tower vs actually enjoying GOOD quality food. (Social media is taking over, the bar for food quality has gone down significantly, it's now more about vibes and videos) Also they charge a 18% service charge for everyone (per there menu it's applied usually for a party of 5 or more, or for the patron tower (neither applied to us)). Our waitress did not say anything until she gave us the bill. At that time (end of august) it wasn't written anywhere. When we asked her why not? She said "they just started". 2 stars for that alone! Communication is key, especially when it comes down to "new unwritten rules" that make a difference on what you pay. This is something that should have been updated in writing prior to the start. Service fees are taking over. Doesn't even make sense that's there's a service fee for the patron tower. And of course employers can do as they please w service fees so you're still expected to tip bc in some places the owners pocket the service fee. It's not split amongst the employees. 3rd base is one of my favorite bars in Hollywood to grab a drink and watch a game. I tend to lean more towards happy hour time these days and whenever I've gone at that time it was easy to walk right in and be seated. I like sitting at the bar because of proximity to the TV's and I like quick service. The bar tenders are always on point and I don't find myself waiting long for another drink which I always appreciate in Hollywood. Food wise I usually just get some wings and a small pizza which both are surprisingly good. I always advise people when going out in Hollywood it's probably easier to Uber just because of the parking difficulties. They offer valet for $15-$20 bucks but between that and risking a DUI just Uber lol. If you plan to visit on a weekend or during a sporting event it will be shoulder to shoulder packed. Some don't mind but this is one of those places that's always packed so just know that going into it. Drink and food prices are what you would expect for the area but nothing too crazy. (based on previous reviews that i had read on people raving out how good the food was) their chimichurri sauce was tasty!! i'll give you that! my steak was over cooked when i asked for it to be medium rare they gave me well done. i'm not one to return it but that definitely affects my review. i didn't notice it until later, but there was also like a small piece of plastic underneath my steak. it looked like those little pieces that they use to seal the bread bags with dates on them! i didn't take a picture but i did show it to our server. anyhow, service was decent, i had to ask twice for our food as we waited for the burgers and wings we had ordered. after my steak had been delivered. our server may have been distracted/unfocused. the ambience is that of a sports bar they have a lot of TVs and it's not a large space not a small space. decently sized. i do however think it's on the over priced side of the market. our entire meal was that of $130 and that's with us having 3 drinks. and that's not including the $30 dollar reservation credit! i only checked this place out because of Tik Tok! i don't see myself coming back again. read more

My friend and I came here before going to a concert at the Hollywood Palladium down the street. We looked for some happy hour deals in the area and this place had popped up. Honestly, it wasn't a bad choice! We asked to be seated outside since it was a warm November day. They do have the big windows open however on the outside so you're practically already sitting outside if you're in those type of booths as is. Happy hour consisted of some fairly decent apps and price points! We got the margarita for like $8 with a flavor and we also ordered some shishito peppers and I believe a nacho plate. The food itself was alright. I would go out of my way to eat here, but just know it's typical bar food. I'd come here strictly for drinks I'd say. We had a really pretty server at first and she checked up on us, but then I think she was off of her shift midway through and then we got someone else. I was in a party of two at the bar and they charged me for being in a party of eight for some reason. I went to 3rd base on a weekend afternoon. It's conveniently located 5 minutes down the street from Hollywood Blvd. I was grateful that there wasn't a wait so we were able to be seated right away. We went at 4pm and were told that we'd only be able to booth until 6pm. I assume it must turn into a party/club scene in the evening but that was fine because we only wanted to get a quick bite and keep exploring the area. We waited about 10-15 minutes before we were even greeted by our waitress. We were told she apparently was still on break and hadn't seen us. Which I honestly wouldn't completely blame her, it must've been a lack of communication between her and the host + hostess but still it was annoying. We were literally seated right in front of the hostess table so to me common sense is if you don't at least see water on the table (of customers you just sat) perhaps you should check up on the customers. When we finally did get service 15 minutes later we were able to place our food order. I ordered the waffle fries, Buffalo sliders and mango habanero wings and my bf ordered the Philly cheesesteaks sliders. My food came out pretty fast but another slip up unfortunately.. they didn't bring out the Philly sliders. We had to reorder and eventually all of our food came out. Overall the food was pretty good, so no complaints there. It was more so the lack of service at this restaurant. This is definitely a party kind of atmosphere, a nice looking venue with loud music and a pretty nice looking cocktail menu.
