I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but wonderful things to say about this hidden gem. I heard about this place from a post on Instagram and decided why not and I'm very happy I decided to give it a try. I have to say not ONLY was the food DELISH, but the staff was VERY welcoming, accommodating but not intruding where you can't enjoy your meal but just enough to let ya know we're here for you! This is a hidden gem! The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are just right! The place is by reservations only. I never had any issues with my table and have always been seated within seconds of walking in. The place is very cozy. Amazing food and kind staff! Little spot, definitely make a reservation ahead on weekend only 6 or so tables. The biscuits were DELICIOUS. Chicken and waffles well made. They do add gratuity into the bill no matter how big your party is. Only complaint was the cup that held the syrup was cracked and had water stained silverware but those are easy fixes that do not take away from the dining experience. 2 thumbs WAY up! read more

My family refers to this place as our weekend happy place. It's always packed because it's that good. The only way to be assured a table for brunch is to reserve online bc they won't answer phone on weekends or accept take out orders. Not convenient for some, but I love how mindful they are about maintaining quality of food and service. They specialize in real southern comfort food. Talk about rich and delicious, 4 brothers is where its at! I was pleasantly surprised at this tucked away location that served so many delicious dishes, it wasn't surprising that each table around me had 3-5 dishes in one sitting. The menu changes so you don't have to settle. Fried chicken was well seasoned and moist. Grits and shrimp was buttered. Even the tea was homemade! I was with a group for my birthday weekend and brunch at 4 Brothers was excellent. Mr. Jason and the rest of crew were great, they treated us like family. All the portions were good, I had the salmon croquettes w/grits and eggs. My food was delicious, there were no complaints from anyone in the group. My 13 yr old son said the food and drinks was good-that is high regard from a very picky eater. My only issue was they didn't have the cornbread biscuit. I will be going back again and again. This place is absolutely fabulous. I grew up in the South and know Comfort Food. This is it! I had the chicken and waffles. My son had chicken with mac and cheese with yams. I found this place by chance as I was looking For a place near my home that served red velvet waffles w/ chicken. We made a reservation and we were seated immediately. The service was fast and friendly and the grits with fried shrimp was amazing! The shrimps were large and crispy and the grits were simply delicious. I did not have to add one thing to it for flavor. My gf liked the chicken and waffles, but was not blown away. She said the seasoning was only on the crust and after tasting the chicken, i had to agree, but everything is not for everyone and it did not take away from the overall experience which was great. If you're looking for good soul food. This is the place. I'm a food snob and this place was everything. The service was great too. I came in with my family of 5 because I saw the restaurant after visiting a neighboring restaurant. I had to check it out as my kids never had soul food before. This place did not disappoint. Our waiter Talee was so nice and courteous. We had to come back bc we didn't make reservations but that's our own fault. We didn't mind bc the place was packed. When a restaurant is packed, that's a good sign. Just keep in mind, make reservations before you go. First impression. Small seats maybe 20, attentive staff, does take out, famous for waffles and chicken but you may know I judge by burger. Music is just a touch high, I can't hear my food . Well after eating the three stars will remain until next visit "if & when" So the 411 not found of tips being predetermined, was not offered options in tipping. They might have gotten a bigger tip! Made a reservation. Arrived a few minutes but had to wait later to be seated. Not a problem. It was a beautiful day. The food is really good. The chicken and waffles taste good..the breast retains its juices and is seasoned well. The eggs and cheese are awesome. The shrimp and grits were great! Biscuits - great. We ordered the catfish nuggets as an appetizer and they came towards the end of the meal. We didn't want them by then but we kept them. They weren't worth waiting for. The server was nice but was not very attentive. We had to ask for help from the other server a few times. We had to ask multiple times for napkins, juice, straws etc.. By the time we received the straws our juice was warm. The ambiance is nice. Someone was getting the place prepared for a private function. The food and service are amazing and the only downside in our experience is that on one of our visits (father's day) they were so overwhelmed, that their reservation system failed, causing a 1 hour wait time for a table. I was caught blindsided here. I was looking at previous glowing reviews. Everything is delicious! They miss a key point of information. This is a Halal version of Southern cooking. That's not something I'm sure works. I had an omelette with beef bacon and sausage. Both were blended into the egg. It really was a bit of a stretch. I thought omelettes had a filling. This was just stuff in scrambled eggs. I would have enjoyed a plate of waffles but it's not on the menu without chicken. I never eat deep fried chicken for breakfast if I can help it. I try not to eat it at all. I go out of my way to try different cultural food experiences. I guess I'm jaded by years of eating in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Hydererabad and beyond. I have no idea what the point was. I was hoping for some authentic Southern Hospitality (in Jersey?) and instead was "educated" as to what seemed like a cultural fusion that turned out to be a dry, bland experiment. What happened?... The home made biscuits were spot on. The omelette and home fried potatoes were a miss. I didn't finish what I ordered. Ketchup, hot sauce- nothing I could do... We tried the online menu but it did not have much variety so when asked about it we were told the dine-in menu and take out menu are different and must order whats on the take out menu. It's a very small place but we only had to wait about 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon to be seated. We ordered chicken and waffles, biscuits and peach hooch and lemonade. Please do not go without one on weekends!) and were told the wait was an hour. We decided to wait and we were beyond thrilled that we did. EVERYTHING about this place is phenomenal. It's small in size but we were told they are renovating to make it bigger. The service was on point and everyone who came by was extremely friendly. This place is BYOB which is great if you enjoy a boozy brunch. We started with the Fried Okra, which was seasoned and fried perfectly. It even came with a dipping sauce that set it off!!!! I had the catfish and grits (which came with two eggs and a biscuit). The catfish (which everyone cannot cook) was fried nice and crispy. Eggs cooked perfectly. And the biscuit....BABY THE BISCUIT. Dem yo granny's biscuits!!!!!!! The only thing on my plate that was just ok were the grits. First, they were luke warm (everything else was served pipping hot). Secondly, they use some seasoning that I can't put my finger on that just didn't bode well with me. It could just be my taste buds...and I like my grits simple...salt and butter. So it may just be me. My brunch date ordered the fried whiting and grits (which also came with two eggs and a biscuit). She felt the same about the grits. Good food and good service. Their website is not functioning well. It would show no booking but when you go there there is plenty of space. They have a live band playing soft Jazz music.
