He made tentative plans with me to install a very expensive water heater. Very expensive! Instead of declining the job and allowing me to find someone else, he jerked me around for WEEKS. Wasting not only my time, but my wife's. Because we were waiting for Alex who was bullsh%& us about doing this job. We waited , and a date was made and that passed with Alex explaining with another bullsh%$ story. After 3 or 4 weeks of this nonsense we went with another company who with 1 phone call was on the job and completed in a matter of days. Epitome of how NOT to build your customer service strategy. Called the line, talked to the receptionist of sorts. Generally speaking, the person probably could use some empathy training. I am a new home owner running into some problems with heating on a furnace/ac that was serviced by this company less than 6 months ago. Given the summer months, the heater likely saw little activity. But heater is now not turning on and I wanted to see if their previous service inadvertently missed anything (it did say everything was working correctly, which is obviously not true now). The person I talked to was not empathetic nor collaborative to do right by their customer. Perhaps company policy, but they adamantly insist on charging essentially a show up fee + any additional cost to repair/service. When I try to compromise to apply the show up fee towards the repair. The person begin to argue how I don't know what I don't know and how If I am a brand new customer, I get it, no free consultations. But in this scenario, this is potentially inadequate services from your maintenance work less than 6months ago, why would you insist on charging your customer to fix a potential shortfall on your end? The right and flexible approach should be either waive or apply the the show up fees towards the repair or somehow meet in the middle. I have no problem paying people for work. I tried to be nice but this left a really bad after taste, I would not want to get anything serviced by these folks if post services issues are handled with a "sorry, not sorry" mentality. Tbh, $100 is nothing nowadays, this is a matter of principle. I know who I am not going to recommend. read more

This review is about their lack responsiveness following a consultation for a new installation estimate. 4 Seasons was very responsive when I first called to get an estimate for new A/C installation, and sent out a technician the very next day. The technician did his thing, and when he was done he took down my email address and said he would reach out to me with an estimate, but he never did follow up. Here we are, 2 1/2 years after installation, and we had a gas outage. I have been calling 4 seasons since yesterday, as they are supposed to have 24/7 service, and all I am getting is voicemail and no one is responding. We were told by PG&E that the duct work is faulty and we cannot run our furnace until someone comes out to check the duct work. Jeff was great to work with and did the job quick, but things fell apart when we tried to schedule the final inspection to get permits for the job. It's been about a year since the work was done, and I have not been able to get in touch with them to confirm a final date for the permit inspection. We had 4 Seasons Heating and Air-conditioning to check our heating system in the attic of our two story house and were very happy with their service. Several days earlier, a company called BH Bay Air Services had cleaned the vents of our washer and dryer and inspected my heating furnace. It was welcomed as we were not sure it was working efficiently as the first floor always seemed impossible to warm up. BH Bay Air cautioned us not to use the furnace as it might stop working due to the blower was full of dust and that there were no filters on the furnace. The recommended service of vacuuming inside surface of the furnace, cleaning blower components and installing electrostatic filters was $850! Since we were unable to find BH Bay Air Services on Yelp and found positive reviews for 4 Seasons. We called 4 Seasons. The 4 Seasons technician found the heating system in good working order- no cleaning necessary, no filters needed except in the upstairs hall way, and did not understand BH Bay Air's reasoning for filters in the attic. The technician reinstalled the vent grilles downstairs which had been improperly installed (levers now better able to direct the air) and now the first floor warms much quicker. I requested a new thermostat be installed. Total cost: $185 ($100 for service call/diagnosis and $85 for thermostat and installation). Thanks Yelp! read more

My AC was serviced regularly by this company for years. Recently, It wasn't cooling properly and would become low on freon. They came out multiple times and were unable to resolve the issue. It ultimately froze up and led to condensation and a water leak in my hallway. That was a couple thousand dollars to fix. Ceiling cut out, multiple days of dryers, drywall, painting. Additionally, their office staff does not really seem to value customers, and it can take several days or longer to schedule and come out. Alex came out and remembered everything about the system he himself installed 8 years, 11 months ago. He asked about our rabbit - our pet that he had not seen since he was originally here - but he remembered. He and his associate were, like before, punctual and professional. Our 15+ year old wall heater gave out. Called 4 Seasons Heating and Air. They came out and gave us an estimate to replace it that was right in line with several other places that we had gotten quotes from. One thing they didn't do is try to add to the cost by trying to convince us to tear out part of our wall, or to change out the exhaust pipe (both things other places had told us we had to do) that after some sleuthing online I realized was not necessary. They were responsive and easy to schedule with, came when they said they were going to, did the repair with no muss no fuss. The heater looks good, and works great. Would use them again. read more

I called two companies for my heating problem: One other company I found in Yelp, Comfy Heating, and 4 Seasons. They provided almost identical diagnostics (a bad igniter) and pricing, but I went with 4 Seasons. The other company's technician was 45 minutes late. 4 Seasons managed their technician's arrival in a way that showed respect for their customer's time: They gave me a window for the appointment but promised to call while their technician was on the way so I was not kept waiting unreasonably. Their technician did call and did arrive early in the afternoon, as expected. He looked at my system holistically and replaced my filters, which apparently needed replacement, before analyzing the problem in the attic. His demeanor was professional and inspired confidence. I authorized him to do what needed to be done on the spot. Heater is working again. If you are having heating problems for the first time, 4 Seasons would be a good company to call, and the technician Jesse Casey a good bet. read more

Not knowing who to call, I checked with Yelp and called these guys on a Sunday morning and left a voicemail. I wasn't expecting to hear back until Monday but later in the day I did get a call back and was able to schedule a tentative appointment for the following day. I appreciated a call back on a Sunday and also the flexibility with scheduling an appointment that worked for my schedule. Monday morning I received a second call to confirm that they would indeed be able to come out and accommodate my schedule. I loved the friendly customer service and the follow up phone call. Monday arrived and shortly after the scheduled time someone from 4 Seasons arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem. We were back up and running in less than 30 minutes. We chose 4 Seasons after getting three bids - they were actually referred to us by a friend, so we were a little partial to begin with. Out of the 3 bids, 4 Seasons was the most reasonable by far. Not only that, but they were able to help us with paperwork needed for rebates. After we got our HVAC system, our house was warm and cozy in the winter and cool and humidity-free in the summer. It was a $125 lesson I learned from Alex at 4 Seasons. 4 Seasons was one of the very few HVAC companies open on a Sunday, and Alex came over within two hours of my call. Of course it turned out to be a stupid mistake on my part; I turned off the wrong breaker and blew a fuse in my furnace (Dumbass status: Achieved); and Alex had the issue fixed in a matter of minutes. We were having a problem with our heater. The fan wouldn't shut off even though the heater did. This would then cause cold air to be blown through the house. I'd called another company about the same problem the previous winter, and they told me I needed to replace a part on the main board. They replaced it, and the same problem happened again shortly thereafter. The third time it happened, I thought I'd try someone else. I called 4 Seasons, and Alex came out for the call. He determined that I simply needed to change the filter. He was correct. The heater and fan have been working properly ever since. I really appreciate that given the fact that I was upfront and disclosed what the previous company had told me was the problem when it happened before, that he could've charged me a ton. Recently, my fan in the attic started making noises and I called 4 Seasons. Jesse came out one time to diagnose the problem. He said it's either the fan unit is loose or the bearings are going - however, he suggested that I replace the entire fan unit (fan + bearings) to ensure we make sure the problem goes away without taking the chance of being wrong. 4 Seasons Heating & Air completely delivered on customer satisfaction, timely service, and great pricing to boot. I had an old furnace in my home that finally burnt out. After having 3 other HVAC companies come through and give me a confusing (and even contradictory) array of explanations as to what happened, Alex from 4 Seasons stopped by and not only temporarily fixed my furnace for free, but gave me better pricing on a replacement unit (which I knew I'd need) than any of the competing HVAC companies. Alex and his team came back out and ripped through my furnace replacement/installation with great care and professionalism. They had to work in an extremely small room dedicated to the furnace and water heater and were able to do so without delay, issue, or damage to my home. The new heater works great, is quitter, far, far more efficient in terms of energy usage and I couldn't be happier. A week after the furnace installation, I installed my own Nest Thermostat. Everything was compatible and worked great. But 45 days later, the furnace started suffering from some pretty strange issues: Turning on for only 60 seconds, blowing cold air, showing incorrect ambient temperature readings, etc. I called 4 Seasons again and they dispatched Ken in two hours. Ken not only isolated the problem down to the Nest, but was able to rewire the Nest itself (without any instruction from the website) and ensure that my furnace was properly connected. It turned out that the wiring configuration that the Nest website provided me was actually incorrect. Both Ken and Alex are total pro's and quite obviously are operating a business in the best interest of the customer. I cannot thank them enough for their timely and excellent service. I scheduled to have my rooftop unit replaced the next week. It involved a crane and Alex and his team spent the better part of a day performing the installation. The entire team was friendly and professional, just like Ken. After the installation, Alex went and picked up a pack of new filters for me and made sure the unit was working well and that I was happy. I used this company in December when my furnace was shutting off and not resetting itself. After having the heater on for sometime it would shut off, therefore we spent a few very cold nights. My husband called this company after reviewing it's ratings and comments. The person he spoke too sounded very friendly and felt confident using this company. A few days later the technician William came to supposedly fix our issue. I told him the problem and within a minute he told me the problem was the filter. It was dirty so he removed it. The heater was running when he arrived but he thought he fixed the problem. He spent a total of 15 minutes in my home removed the filter and charged me $100. Way too much for removing a filter. That night the heater shut off again and the house was 58 degrees.. We were freezing. We called back and again William shows up looking super annoyed after my husband asked if he's the technician that previously came. Basically my husband figured out the wires weren't making connection and told the professional the problem. He told us to stick a piece of paper to hold it in place. He spent 10 minutes there doing nothing and tells my husband this visit was free... No it wasn't it cost me $100 for 2 visits under 30 minutes combined. He didn't seem to really know what he was doing. Unfortunately our heater still isn't working properly. The customer service calling in was very friendly however their technician didn't seem to be knowledgeable at all in his trade. I'm out $100 and nothing was done but had a filter removed. read more

While we didn't end up hiring this business to install our air conditioner, I wanted to write about our experience with receiving an estimate from them. I was able to get an appointment fairly quickly for them to come out and give us an estimate. I was told over the phone that they would be at our house between 10am-12pm. 12pm hit and they were still a no show. I called and was told they were just minutes away. So, they ended up being about 7 minutes late. Not a big deal but a phone call would have been appreciated. Jeff stayed in his vehicle talking on his cell phone while the technician checked things out at our house. Eventually, Jeff joined the group but not for long. His phone rang again so he stepped outside to take the call. At the end of the visit, the technician took our email address and said he would send us the estimate that evening. Well, a week went by and nothing. I finally called and was told it was emailed...but to the wrong address. To make a long story short, we finally got the estimate and it was a tad high. I received a call from Jeff a couple of days after I got the estimate and he wanted to know where things stood. I told him the truth. His estimate was on the higher end of the previous 2 quotes we had received from other businesses. He told me he would crunch some numbers and get back to me. To this day, I have not heard one word back from him. I didn't like that Jeff took phone calls while at our house. I found it to be rude and unnecessary. Even being just a few minutes late also rubbed us the wrong way. Making a great first impression is paramount when trying to get new customers. We have since gone with Rabbioni Mechanical out of Union City. Jose arrived right on time, he ignored all phone calls while talking to us, and even gave us the estimate on the spot which was about $300 less than 4 Seasons. I called Alex for second opinion after a prior company looked at the furnace(Fairway plumbing,heating,&cooling) said maybe an issue with the heat exchanger. I feel robbed that Alex,4 Season, did not make a proper diagnostic for my 9 year old furnace. He had his guys took it apart in order to check the heat exchange's condition, left it unrepairable. I had 2 more companies came out told me that there're other ways to test the heat exchanger without taking the whole unit apart. The gentleman who helped us, William, was on time, politely told me the motor in our sixteen-year-old system had gone out, and replaced it later in the day as promised after he picked up a new motor. These guys are awesome. I had a contactor issue with my AC unit. Tried to change it myself but did short the control unit during the process. Not only did they tell me this might be the case over the phone one of the owners came to my house since he was close by, confirmed that this was the issue and didn't chArge me since I did most of the work.
