I then took my car to the Mercedes dealership for an inspection. Their master technician told me directly: the shop should never have performed the alignment in the first place. There was visible damage to the tie rod, steering rack, and wheel bearing -- damage that any competent technician would have seen the moment the car was put on an alignment rack. Here's the thing: an alignment cannot hold or function correctly when the underlying components are damaged. With a bent tie rod, a compromised steering rack, and a bad wheel bearing, the alignment settings will be inaccurate from the start -- or revert immediately once you drive. This shop either didn't know that, or knew it and did the alignment anyway to collect payment. Neither is acceptable. Instead of being honest about the damage and referring me to a proper repair facility, they charged me for a service that was completely ineffective and a total waste of money. If your car has been in any kind of impact, do not bring it here. They will perform services they know cannot fix your problem just to take your money.

When I took out my side mirror a few years ago, they were able to get it fixed within a week. Logan in the service department is our go-to, and he always takes really good care of any services or repairs to my car. Yesterday, when I needed advice on how to remove paint transfer from my car, I called the store first to see if I could get a recommendation over the phone. A sales department rep told me I could text the service department pictures, and they would be able to help me. When I texted the service department however, I was shocked at how abrasive and unhelpful the employee, Sophia, was. She even gave me the name and phone number of a different place to go. When I explained that I had never taken my car to anyone other than Toyota and that I was worried about a third party damaging my paint, she continued to tell me she couldn't offer me any help. So I ended up driving all the way to Toyota from where I live in Issaquah because y'all have literally never let me down, and I knew that if I went there, I would be able to find some help. The greeter outside was so kind. He actively listened to me before directing me to the parts department, telling me they could definitely help me. Everyone in the parts department was so nice and welcoming, and told me exactly what to do for my car and where to get what I needed. All I wanted was a recommendation that wouldn't damage my paint, and I was so grateful to get to talk to people who were so friendly and empowering. Scott even went above and beyond, going to double-check with the detailers to see if they had any advice on clay bars or anything to help me with the paint transfer. He even came out to look at my car with a microfibre cloth to see if he could help out. After being so frustrated at not getting help, I appreciated how he reassured me about how to get the paint transfer off and made sure that I was confident in my next steps.

My back right tire was continuing to lose air and I was filling it every few weeks. I finally brought it in after it got lower than usual. The mechanic was great at dumbing things down for me and giving me all the options. He said they could fix it, but that my tires were in really bad shape and it might be better to replace them all instead. I wasn't sure if this was just sales, but he took me to look at my tires compared to new ones and WOW. Whoops, my bad for never replacing them. I told him that I work from home and really only drive to see friends or go to appointments and hardly ever go over the pass, and he showed me some discount tires that would work for my needs without any extras. I liked that he gave me several quotes and options but still recommended the least expensive based on my needs, felt very genuine. He also didn't judge me when I asked what "fixing my alignment means" and showed me how my alignment would affect my driving. This also felt like a genuine add on. For a full set of new tires and alignment repair, I was there an hour and a half. The waiting room is HUGE! Tons of seating and plugs, plus they had popcorn and water. Really clean too. I brought my airpods, laptop, and ipad so I could work and watch tv while I was there. Free fast wifi too! It was a wonderful, quiet, clean place to wait. When I was checking out, the sales associate said that the would send me reminders to get my tires rotated so these would last me as long as possible. This was awesome, because I know I would forget. Within 20 seconds of driving off I FELT the difference in my car. I regret waiting so long to go in and get everything checked out!
