There were some new additions to today's menu that weren't there 2 weeks ago. The meatloaf sounded fantastic but we decided to split the bacon omelette and the buckwheat pancakes . They were both really good. I'm pretty picky about pancakes and was impressed with how fluffy and flavorful these pancakes were. They were my favorite but my husband was all about the Smokey taste of the omelette. Mmmm and the mimosas! Cherry and ginger are my favorites. The mister loves the grapefruit mimosa Great food and the service was just as good as the food. Dylan was training with a few ladies and they took turns checking on us. The entire staff was so welcoming you could really tell they were interested in making you feel comfortable. There is a really romantic atmosphere great for date night. Good selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. The calamari appetizer was a little greasy and the vegetable garnishes seemed like a waste of food they needed to be cooked to add to the dish. The chicken sandwich and burger had good flavor and the fries were crispy. The pimento cheese had really good flavor. The truffle fries were good but I wouldn't have got if I had known it was a $4 up charge. It was a good experience for trying a new place but nothing really drew us back in. read more

Brittany was our server and she was wonderful! First off I ordered a berry cider from Michigan and it was delicious; my boyfriend the pino noir. We ordered the fried chicken appetizer and I'm OBSESSED with the breading. It's perfectly crispy and the chicken is obviously fresh. Tender every bite. For our entrees, I ordered the blackened mahi-mahi topped with pineapple salsa. It comes served with green beans and a potato purée underneath. My mahi was excellent, the salsa included. My only complaint is with the potato purée. It was a little watery, lacking flavor; but I know when it is made correctly it would be delicious. My boyfriend ordered the filet, served with broccolini & a wild mushroom risotto. He ordered his filet medium and it came out perfectly to temperature. My boyfriend is extremely picky & usually orders filets where ever we dine if they have them, so he's grown accustomed to a good filet! Me? I think most are delicious :). He said that his filet had a good flavor, but the texture and consistency of the filet was a little off. I'm not sure if the demi glaze had something to do with the taste being off, but next time he wants to order the Beef Stroganoff!! Our overall experience was awesome. This restaurant was a great choice for a evening out! I enjoyed the ambiance with the low lights and mood music. It was busy but we were able to be seated right away but upon leaving there were no open tables. My drink the lavender lemonade was great and they didn't hold back on the liquor:) I tried the salmon and crab cake app which was small in size but had a good taste. I had the bacon cheeseburger and truffle fries for my entree. The burger was cooked to perfection but could have used a little seasoning in my opinion. When we pulled up and saw the layout, and were greeted by smiling faces, we knew this place was IT! This is hands down THE BEST BRUNCH SPOT I'VE EVER VISITED! You will not be disappointed! We all ordered different entrees so we could taste each other's foods. Imagine eating chicken & waffles, baked mac & cheese, the cheesiest grits, steak, eggs, & potatoes... 3 stars for two reason. Would be a total 5 star. The food is great! Service staff is friendly, professional and experienced. The atmosphere is incredible. I eat here at least once a week, sometimes twice. I have one main complaint, and for me it's actually a really big one. There is no service in the restaurant and the ownership will not share the wifi password with paying customers. Was here with a vendor earlier this week and couldn't open the photos I needed to show them. Here again today, and I can't respond to a very important email unless I get up and walk outside to send. My second issue is that they can't turn their air conditioning on because apparently the condensation from the vents leak so bad it's a fall risk. Everyone in the restaurant will be fanning themselves with their menus and begging the staff to turn down the air. Feels to my like an ownership issue (not management). Maybe too cheap to pay for decent wifi and fix the AC. If it's not resolved. They'll be losing $15,600 a year from me (my avg. spend in a year over the last three years). read more

This had been on my list to try for a while, but we don't make it up to this area often. We finally ventured up to Concord for a meal here. Covid-19: you can order and pay online on their website. Since we're vaccinated now, we decided to eat on their patio. While there, we noticed many customers going inside with no masks on. The staff all had masks on though. We started with the 44 Mac & Cheese which I loved. I loved the seasoning in it. For entrees we got the chicken sandwich with kettle chips and the PBLT with truffle fries. The chicken sandwich is good, but the PBLT was unforgettably delicous. It was the best BLT I've ever had. The pimento cheese and red pepper jelly really made it stand out. The bacon was thick cut and so good. Both the kettle chips and truffle fries were delicious. The truffle fries had the most delicious sauce. The kettle chips were soft and under cooked which I loved. Super creamy and really just a perfect flavor explosion. We also did a couple Provisions - Livermush Croutons are on point, super light, crispy and tasty, totally different than any other Livermush i have ever had........We also ordered the Cauliflower & Brussels. The C&B was decent enough, a little on the dry side for me -- some balsamic vinaigrette added on it was the perfect solution for me A+++. I also want to point out the pork belly bites were out of this world good. I actually ordered a side of just pork belly. PRO TIP - take the super crispy Livermush and pork belly, dump in the gravy, with egg and biscuit, holy crap it is good. The eggs are perfectly cooked, seemed like sourced locally, yokes are super bright. I also want to point out, we sat at the bar and the bartender was hand making all the ingredients for the craft cocktails. She was taking pride in making the perfect cocktail mix. This was a meal celebrating our 50th anniversary. The manager greeted us personally and made us feel welcome with a complimentary starter, watermelon and feta. It was amazing. Honestly, it was hard to choose from a very interesting menu. Our waiter was very helpful with the menu and attentive in spite of being very busy. Both our meals exceeded expectations. Fresh ingredients and freshly prepared. Everyone in the restaurant seemed happy. I didn't see anyone having a problem or complaint. It was amazing watching the staff's "service ballet" and teamwork. This place is close by my nail salon, and hubby suggested we have our dinner here on this hot June Sunday. The vibe is upscale, casual and dare I say, "hipster." Really, the first thing that struck me is that the menu is a photocopy. My husband informed me that the menu changes daily, which explains why it's paper. Even with scratched up plates, this place goes out of their way to be different. Actually, it borders on pretense. Calling their selection of appetizers "provisions," and omitting desserts from their selection all together. I guess you have to be cooler than me to appreciate that. Service was friendly and fast! Our server was terrific. I ordered the smothered chicken breast, and what I received was a dry, small shriveled up piece of albino-colored meat thrown on a bed of mixed vegetables. There was no sauce so I am unsure what they meant by "smothered." It tasted like something I cooked when I was 10 years old and was afraid of different spices and thought gravy was gross. I was mortified, it barely looked like actual chicken. With this dish, I did something that I rarely do; I sent it back. I got a Mediterranean chicken salad.... And my goodness it was great! The tender greens, zesty dressing and warm succulent chicken. Pickled cucumbers, fat chunks of feta... I loved it! I could eat that particular salad every day. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich and fries. The portions are generous, and the drinks are okay. The bathroom looks institutionalized, but it's clean. I wasn't blown away by this place, and I was a bit annoyed by the pretentiousness, but because it's so close to home, I might go back. Mainly because the service was great, the place was clean and the menu is dynamic. There is always hope that there will be something great on offer, and if that day comes.... We arrived at opening so there was no wait...the place it really nice decor and dimly lite so it would be a lovely place to come back to for dinner but for brunch they could have punched the lighting up a more. The servers came over immediately and we so nice and since it was our first time they recommended their favorites which we happily ordered and WOW were they right. My breakfast taco was a flavor BOMB which I would so order again and again. My date liked his chicken and waffle as well. He said the waffle on its own was moist and had nice flavor as well. We both ordered drinks that were bourbon forward. Mine was the barrel aged SMOKED Old fashioned and his I could not recall or grab a picture of as he started sipping it as soon as she placed it down...LOL. In a town full of chain restaurants, 44 Mills takes the cake as the best restaurant in Concord. We flew in to Charlette and checked into our hotel but then ran out the door to grab dinner. This restaurant was on our list due to the fantastic reviews on Yelp. Our server was Haley, and she was amazing. She knew the menu forwards and backwards even though it changes sometimes daily. We ordered a few different apps; the deviled eggs, the fried pickles and the mac and cheese. ALL amazing! Haley was great working with my wife around her food restrictions. This is the 2nd time I have been here. I have not been disappointed by any of the food or service. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I start off with the sunset mimosa which has just a touch of grenadine in it. They also have mimosa flights which is awesome cause you can try 4 different ones. The coffee is served in a clear mug, and has a very good flavor. I ordered the spinach and feta cheese omelette. I asked for a whites only however they could not do this, no worries. It was still very tasty. I would say the presentation of the omelette was liking somewhat due to the excessive oil on my plate. The brunch tacos were amazin! They were served on a flat plate That looks like a cutting board. The presentation looked nice, however, this was not ideal as this gets very messy and then food falls all over the table.
