We've gone for brunch but never for dinner. There is outdoor seating but it was way too hot for that. We arrived and were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived but started picking up about halfway through our meal. The manager was working expo but never visited the tables to engage with the customers even though it wasn't busy. This could be a personal preference but I think it's good customer service and adds a nice touch to the dining experience. Our server was very attentive. The drinks were amazing. The appetizer comes with andouille sausage and that may have given it more flavor-it was different (with the egg) and enjoyable. The salmon was cooked to perfection-an absolute medium. The carrot ribbons were more like planks. The creamed spinach was more tasty the following day-the flavors hadn't developed at the initial tasting. The burrata pasta was also a very creative dish but again, flavors were lacking. The tomatoes were the star. I could have eaten a bowl of just those! Please note, a 3% service charge is added to your bill if you aren't using cash-except the charge is added before you are asked for payment method. Not my first time at 44 Mills, but first time in a while and I was thrilled that the food and drinks are as good if not better! I went with a friend and we shared the deviled eggs. WOW..so good right down to the housemade pickles on the side. For the entree, I got the Shrimp and Grits. Let me just say, I have had this dish in Charleston and other big cities and this is absolutely the BEST I have ever had. It was seasoned perfectly and the shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. I took home leftovers that will be more than enough for my next days dinner. My friend got a salad with blackened salmon and loved it. We both got the pineapple skinny margarita and it was perfect! Our server was amazing and the atmosphere was so nice. Can't wait to go back and try out their Summer menu. read more

Joined some work colleagues for drinks and dinner and came away thinking another visit would be worth the 25ish minute drive. The vibe reminds me of 131 Main but maybe a tiny bit more casual feeling. The food (Livermush Croutons, Deviled Eggs, and Single Wedge Salad) was tasty as was the cocktail (44 Mills Old Fashioned). All in all seems like a good joint for Concord-adjacent locals. read more

This was my third visit to 44 Mills and each time has been consistently great. This visit was at lunchtime, luckily we arrived just before it got busy. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We started off with the Mac N Cheese as an appetizer. It was amazing. For my entree, I had the Roasted Salmon with perfectly paired sides. It was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend both dishes. I also had a strawberry stiletto mocktail. It was so good. The restaurant itself was very clean and welcoming. They offer a variety of seating options including group tables and outdoor seating. I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while. Met a close friend on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The good thing is that reservations are "not" needed which is rare for a restaurant on the weekends in Charlotte and surrounding areas. We sat outside and didn't feel at all as if we were forgotten about. The service was on point and the servers were very attentive. Gave honest recommendations and checked in on us often. I had the crispy chicken sandwich with herbs fries with a lavender lemonade. I wish the batter covered my whole sandwich but it was still good. My lunch mate had the PBLT sandwich. We started with the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer. It was delicious. The shrimp was large, succulent and lightly battered. I had the fresh cut salmon-a thick portion perfectly cooked-topped with sunflower seeds and a twist of lemon, on roasted broccoli on a bed of Carolina gold risotto and citrus cream sauce. A decent number of beer options. My amber was quite tasty. I met a client for lunch and found the inside to be dark and noisy so I opted to go outside. Good option with perfect weather and much quieter. I had to get up and go inside to locate the hostess and ask if anyone knew I was outside. They seem to be understaffed or sharing duties as I saw 3 separate people acting as hostess. I got the smash burger and it was great. A little bit of crustiness on the outside and moist inside. Loved it. Don't be in a rush as it took a long time to get waited on, ordering, and then getting the food out. But otherwise a fine experience. read more

This was a great find in between soccer games. It opened at 10 on a Sunday with a strong brunch crew but we were already hungry for lunch. The burgers were excellent. Hand-pattied and cooked to perfection. The truffle fries were probably the best I've ever had - and we're fry enthusiasts. My wife had a unique, crafted sandwich, the PBLT was that also excellent. I was worried we were a little too casually dressed when we got there but it wasn't a stuffy atmosphere and lots of various groups filled in ranging from sports families to dressier folks. The branding and ambience was really well done - loved the checked shirts the servers wore. Would def recommend if you're in the area. read more

Found these photos in my camera roll and realized I never left a review! I ate at 44 Mills with a few colleagues (party of 6) for a Friday lunch at noon about a month ago. We were a bit disappointed at how long it took to get the food; we arrived around 12:10 and it took until around 12:50 before we got anything, and the restaurant didn't seem super crowded, so keep this in mind if you're on a time crunch. Thankfully, we blocked out an hour and a half for lunch that day. I got the bang bang shrimp sandwich with old bay fries. For lunch, I thought $23 was a bit steep based on the portion size. It was pretty tasty though. The shrimp had a good size and crunch, and I especially loved the fries. Based on the waitress's interest in the sandwich, it seemed like it must be a new offering. She asked if there was anything I'd change about it, and I said I'd prefer if there was more bang bang shrimp sauce. She said next time I should ask for extra and they'd do that without a problem, so if you do choose to go, definitely ask for extra because it was good! Personally I don't feel like this is the best spot for value and service, but they do seem to have a few high-quality items on their menu, so maybe this would be a good spot for a date or to impress a friend. read more

First time here and it was fabulous! Hubbys birthday so definitely a nice place for a special meal. Although it's quite noisy it was won over by the quality of the meal. Each entree was a winner! The salads were the perfect side and the dressings were flavorful. The calamari with the peppers and jalapeño are a must on your visit. The salmon was seasoned perfectly and presented nicely with the roasted broccolini. My grits loving hubby thought the shrimp & grits were one of the best he's eaten. We ate at the bar on a Saturday night with our twin 7 year olds. They were super accommodating to them! They had the calamari and the kid's grilled cheese with fruit. I had a gin sour, deviled egg, steak and corn risotto. The gin sour was so good, and I loved the deviled eggs. The steak was great, and the rice was good. My husband had the ragoon and the wedge salad with blacked chicken. My kids wanted ice cream, and they made it special by adding caramel sauce and a strawberry. I was solo so I sat at the bar, there I received immediate service and I ordered their Old Fashion and it was top notch. I had read the reviews on their deviled egg appetizers and they did not disappoint, exquisite. Then I ordered their steak pappardelle pasta (without the mushrooms as they are not my thing) and it was absolutely delicious. My only quasi-complaint would be it should come with a side of homemade bread as the sauce is amazing and needs to be soaked up to the last drop. The atmosphere was comfortable and accommodating, really just what I was looking for. My server Jess was excellent and provided just the right attentiveness. Definitely will be back. read more

This is a nice, quiet restaurant in a corner of the shopping area. I enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance. I reviewed the menu prior to my arrival and looked forward to a Blackberry Sangria. It was not on the menu on this day. I ordered the Red Sangria. It was tasty and refreshing! For my entree, I ordered the perfect pork chop primarily because I was sure the sweet potato mash (more like puree) would enhance the dish to my satisfaction. The potatoes did their job but I could have done without the collards on top. The pork chop (house cut) was overcooked. This was my fault for not specifying how I wanted it cooked. When I walked in they weren't super busy but definitely had patrons. 4 different employees saw me standing at the front waiting to be seated and asked "have you been helped... okay I'll be right with you" and just didn't come back. Once seated, the waitress was pleasant when she was around. I ordered a mimosa... it was just okay. The fried pickles tasted like they were old and were just microwaved. I got a burger and truffle fries and they were good. Would definitely recommend the fries. My sister ordered a caesar salad and a chicken sandwich and she says both were good. One of the best meals I've ever had in Concord! A legit cocktail menu, some great sounding apps and every entrée was unique and seemed to satisfy all the basic niches. My only complaint was that the "forest mushroom risotto" wasn't mushrooms from the forest, kinda seems like false advertising. Some friends from Concord wanted to take me out for my birthday, so I pulled out my trusty yelp app and narrowed it down to 4 options. This was the only one that I put on my list of possibles last time we did this, so they just went for it. A smoky old fashioned made with house barrel aged bitters to start. There was a spicy margarita I had my eye on, but I was a little timid about the Malbec foam. We ordered some bang bang shrimp that were bigger, crunchier and more flavorful than the fast food Chinese place that made the name famous. The roasted Brussels, cauliflower and sausage was super tasty. A great array of flavors, but maybe could have used a little more balsamic. On to the entrees! One guy wasn't all that hungry, so he just got a chicken sandwich. The other 2 of us had our eyes on a couple things, but when it came down to it, we both went with the steak and parpadelle. Beuatiful wide noodles with a nice luscious cream sauce, topped with perfectly cook steak. $32 for a steak entrée is pretty fair these days in my opinion. I loved every bite! I was so full I didn't even look at the desert menu, but did see a few other things floating around to other tables that looked tasty. Bottom line is, there are 3 go to spots for me in Concord. Little Papi's for a sandwich. Birritaco for Mexican and then this place for a little more fine dining. I do need to try some other spots in the area though. read more

We were here for brunch a few weeks ago and it enjoyed it so much that we came back today. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside with the pups. There were some new additions to today's menu that weren't there 2 weeks ago. The meatloaf sounded fantastic but we decided to split the bacon omelette and the buckwheat pancakes . They were both really good. I'm pretty picky about pancakes and was impressed with how fluffy and flavorful these pancakes were. They were my favorite but my husband was all about the Smokey taste of the omelette. Mmmm and the mimosas! Cherry and ginger are my favorites. The mister loves the grapefruit mimosa Great food and the service was just as good as the food. Dylan was training with a few ladies and they took turns checking on us. It's so hard for restaurants to get good waitstaff right now but somehow 44 Mills is doing it! read more
