Tom Brady sandwich with tomatoes and pickles!

The best sandwiches on the island! This place is very busy as it is very popular! I came back multiple times during my stay on the island. Highly recommend.

Music is always a vibe, the 45 Breakfast Sammie slays, and the icy Surfside is hands down the best!!! I absolutely love it here. It's the perfect getaway from the usual downtown Nantucket scene. It feels more like a cozy, normal-person coffee shop. I come every day off!

This is probably the only time you'll hear this Angeleno say "the Brady" was AWESOME. This turkey sandwich comes with herbed aioli and greens. The bread has a great texture and is fluffy. ICED LATTE and HOT LATTE are good and they use the beans from a local roaster, Nantucket Roastery. The STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE was filling and refreshing. There is no line to order because the cashier is fast. There's a full staff behind tue counter so you don't have to wait for your food and drinks too long. The indoor eating area is cozy and air conditioned. There are plenty chairs and tables outdoor. They have merch!!!

The Birthday Cake that I ordered from chef Rebecca Moesinger and her team was so delicious and gorgeous looking Cake, it was the Black Forest Torte the flavors were just right lots of chocolate and cherries...ohhh just so delish! I was surprised by the price of the cake, I thought that on Nantucket you can not get any cake for under $100 but now you can and keep that on mind!

The food was delicious and expensive. We had the asparagus salad and summer salad. Both were delicious and fresh. Steak frites were delicious and the serving size was decent. Duck carnitas was the hit! The duck was delicious and tender. The toppings (pickled onions, pickled veggies, salsa) with the corn tortillas were just right. You prep your own tacos with all the fillings. This was our favorite and we enjoyed the unique concept to use duck! It was an expensive meal but worth it! Service was great. I took more photos but realized they were quite blurry due to it being dark out and I didn't give my phone enough time to capture the photo. I wanted to eat!!! I would definitely come again.

This being 1:00 pm too. Or, The Whale boasts a great wait staff who are accommodating and professional, as well as being just plain nice. A very clean establishment. We started with the crudités as an appetizer, and we both had the asparagus salad as our lunch - to die for! Very, very good! Priced nicely, and no negatives whatsoever. This place is always packed for dinner, so we were glad that on a Wednesday we were able to waltz in for luncheon. A must do when on island.

Our excitement increased as we entered the…read morerestaurant and were met at the door by 2-3 maître d's, one of which welcomed us and proceeded to gush that we were in for a truly special meal: a Michelin starred chef, fresh, local ingredients and unique dishes & flavors. I wish I could write a glowing review, but in all honesty, I cannot do it. The entire experience was a let-down. The serving staff is clearly hired for the season; they struggle to describe the menu; there is no sommelier available and our server looked like a deer caught in headlights when asked a simple question about the sweetness of a Riesling on offer; the food was trying so hard, but was poorly executed and under seasoned. I ordered risotto with chanterelles, asparagus and fresh greens: what arrived was bowl of bland, soupy rice that somehow managed to be both mushy & undercooked. Two of our party ordered the halibut which was so doused in unnecessary accoutrements that this delicate, wonderful fish was lost (and also slightly overcooked), the last member of our group ordered "a Greek preparation" of lamb that arrived like a gummy block of scrapple (today, we noticed it had been pulled from the menu, thank goodness!). It was practically inedible. The two starters were passable, but nothing to write home about and, needless to say, we opted to skip dessert. The bill for this meal was hefty and didn't deliver in any way. The only positive moment was when we asked for the excessively bright lighting to be dimmed down (we were blinded) and we were kindly accommodated. Long story short: unless American Seasons does some serious reflection on how their marketing & describing the experience here, skip it. You're better off with fried clams at a shack.

The small plates were all $25+ and while the small plates were actually larger than one would think, nothing blew me away. The cocktails are also expensive, pricier than drinks I recently had at The Pearl & Straight Wharf. Pics were from a few years back, but I most recently dined this year (2026) and had the octopus, little gem salad, the clam dip and fried broccoli. While all good, I wouldn't say a dish stood out as fantastic. (Granted, we didn't order any of their more "main dishes". This is definitely a spot that seemingly is more fun with many mouths to feed and try bites of many things. With just my husband & I, we were limited to the same bites of a few dishes. The service was great and the vibes also. The bar is bustling and upstairs is so charming. Overall, a solid night out. I do find it to be more expensive than their neighbors and not quite sure the food lived up to those occasions, which is why the 3 stars, but regardless, a nice night out. Fun Fact: Back in the day, this spot was an Italian restaurant called DeMarco's and I used to be the hostess! (This was 30 years ago and now after writing that, I feel quite old).
