Tried to contact him last monday (because of his 5stars review on yelp) if he can help us install washer drain pan (I really need washer to wash my toodler's clothes asap) and do few other jobs for our new home. Called a few times in the morning, didn't pick up. Leave a voicemail, never returned. Frustrated, my husband requested a quote through yelp in the afternoon. Listed around 7-8jobs that we wanted to be done besides the main one, he replied after around an hour with an automated message: "sorry, i don't provide the service". I understand that people get busy sometimes (he might have other big projects on hands), but the jobs that we listed were clearly part of the things that he says he can do (for example: install new kitchen faucet, new shower head, tv mount, fixing garage weather strip, new water filter system, etc). And we certainly won't force him to do all of it if he can't. But just a reply saying he can't do any jobs at all (seriously?) made me question how is he reliable? To clarify, we're within his service location. Called another handyman from yelp, he replied within 30min, came by the next day and fixed everything for us within 3 hours. When I think "handyman," I think someone who completes small projects that most homeowners could do themselves with enough time and the right tools. Stevin is more like a contractor than a handyman. He tore out a fiberglass bathtub enclosure and replaced it with a conventional tub/shower and tile surround, including a decorative mosaic and tiling around a window and a niche. He had a couple of guys helping him. The quality of the work is great. They took less time than initially estimated and the price was reasonable. They were prompt in the morning and cleaned up at the end of each day. We plan to hire him again for future medium-sized projects. read more

Stevin did an outstanding job! I had a hideous wall AC unit in my living room from the prior owners that needed to be removed. We have central air so the thing was just an eye sore in my living room. Not to mention the thing wasn't even big enough to cool the room anyway. I contacted him via Yelp and he responded right away. He was able to quote me up front with dollar amount and time to complete the job. We scheduled a day and time via text. He did all of the work except for painting. I really appreciated his candor as he said he could do the paint himself but since the work would need to dry overnight before painting and that would require an extra trip which would raise the price. He offered to have me paint it to help keep the cost down. This was great because he was looking out for me and keeping costs down. He is the perfect handyman. He showed up on time to the job at the time that we agreed. He said hello and got right to work. He powered through until all was complete. Completely self sufficient he kept his work area clean and when he was all he done packed up and cleaned everything up himself as if he'd never been there. The job took just a little longer than expected. Maybe and hour (seriously no big deal) so I expected him (like most handymen would) to try and raise the price a little and blame it on the house but he absolutely didn't. The job required demolition of the old tub and surrounding walls, patchwork and painting, placing tile on the surrounding walls, and installing a new tub and glass sliding door. We had a great experience with Stevin! We needed to turn our loft into a bedroom for a new baby. Stevin matched the style of our house in a remarkable manner- including the custom oversized crown molding, wall texture, and paint color match. He moved one of the canned lights including the light switches and built in a closet that matched the closets in our house created by the original builder. i haven't posted that many reviews on yelp but stevin deserves a top notch review, in my opinion, so here is my review. stevin has worked on our new house several times. he's very responsive and keeps all his appointments. for the quality of his work, he also charges reasonably. when time is money, it's wonderful to find someone who will actually work on time. the first time we called, it was because the handyman, who was supposed to patch our wall before painting could begin, didn't show up. we had one day to find someone else because the painters had to come the day after... so we could move into our new house in time. stevin responded within the hour and came the next day. his patch job was amazing -- you couldn't tell there was anything other than the wall. even painters commented to my husband that his workmanship was top notch. next time we called him because we wanted to move a gate to another area of our backyard. all the fence companies we called wanted to charge $1,000 or more. stevin charged half the price to move the gate, patched where the old gate was, painted the exterior of our house with the EXACT paint color, and was thoughtful about making sure his work wouldn't cut water or electrical lines. we called him again because we realized our sprinkler system was leaking and needed someone to help fix the irrigation. plumbers and irrigation expert wanted to charge us quite a bit... stevin cost a lot less and advised us not to overdo it. he himself is a homeowner and said why bother spending more than we have to? honest, quality worker who doesn't push us to do more work just so he can earn a bit more in the short run. in sum, we found someone we can call whenever we need someone to help fix around the house for a long time because of his reliability and his workmanship. and we are quite grateful. i recommend him highly. he may not be the cheapest, but if the cheapest handyman doesn't come when you really need him/her to or does crappy job that needs constant fixing, is that really worth it? read more

So happy to have found Stevin. Our fence recently blew down during a freak windstorm about 2 months ago and I initially contacted three professional fence companies. Two came out to assess and measure but neither one came back to me with a quote that they promised. Even after couple of phone calls, they were unresponsive.
