I decided to drive from Hollywood to eat from this plc today and boy oh boy I regret it. The cashier a light skin girl was great/ polite, but the boss lady what an awful attitude! I got my order and an item was missing I sent my son to go tell them and the owner told him you got everything you order he said no and she kept telling him go look again so I went in and explained to to her what I did get and she insisted I got everything I ordered arguing with me then gone say "give her it (missing item)I'm not bout to argue with her". As the saying goes, it's in the name, or something like that. We ordered party wings (sweet chili), Cheeseburger meal which included fries and a drink, and deep fried tacos. The wings were the BOMB dot com! They had the right amount of sauce yet were still crispy and tender to the bone and fresh out the grease. The sweet chili sauce was the best chili sauce I've ever had. Mildly sweet with only a small kick. I cleaned the bones. Definitely will be ordering these again. The burger was throwback type good. The way I remember real burgers tasting back in the day good. It was juicy with a tender bun that was the perfect amount of bread to engulf that tender flavorful truly 100% beef. When I want a burger this is what I'll be craving! The fries were really, really good. If you like Wings Stop's fries, you will love these. My least favorite were the fried turkey tacos, the meat did not have flavor really although I loved the crispy tortillas. I will be trying the other tacos options in the future because maybe it was just the turkey meat on these. The drinks available are several lemonade flavor options and Kool-aid. I'm not a Koolaid drinker usually but I know how it should taste and there's is classic. They get really busy so it is best to place your order online for pickup. I placed my order in store, it was ready in about 25 minutes but it was well worth the wait. The only reason it's 4 instead of 5 stars is: My initial experience was disappointing. I'd seen a video on Tiktok and the food looked so good my mouth and mind were set on going the following Saturday. It was a very hot day, I had been driving for hours, I was tired, hungry and just wanted a shower, food, and my bed. But what I wanted to eat was that cheesy soul cake and those deep fried tacos I'd seen. I'd been holding off eating the entire morning in anticipation final of it. I had to pass my home to go there and in L.A. traffic that added an hour to travel time. I was so tired I pulled over to double check their hours. The website hours told me I was good but I know sometimes websites aren't updated so I called the number. It went straight to voicemail and messages were full! I was more encouraged by this because I thought "they must be super busy" so I continued on. But I got there and they were closed. No sign or other indications why they weren't open and the hours posted indicated they should be open as well. I stood around a few minutes as if someone would show up and apologize for opening late. People showed up but they were potential customers like me. Disappointed, hungry, and tired I headed home and made my own chili pie/soul cake. I left a message on their IG that day and they responded saying that had a catering scheduled and would be closed the next few days. I am glad to know their business is growing and thriving in this manner because the food is really that good. However, I hope the team grows also so that both sides of the business can work simultaneously and that they provide notifications on their website, VMware, and social media when hours change due to special events. Also they need to add prices to the menu wall. I had to wait until it was my turn to order to ask the prices and there was a line of people waiting. While the food is good, I had to take away 3 stars for the HORRIBLE customer service. Whoever the girl is at the window taking the orders really should not be allowed to talk to people. She is SO rude, and never smiles and behaves as if she is annoyed that you are bothering her at work with your pesky little food order. I've given this place 3 times, however it's always the same girl taking the orders, and don't you dare ask her a question about the menu! It's beneath her to answer. I came with little expectations and an inkling of hope that the soul cake would soothe my soul. It went beyond that. It is a must order along with the fried tacos, which I genuinely think is the best I've had from a non-Mexican eatery. I will 100% be back. The food is made with love and I can taste it. I drive by this place on my way home from work. What made me notice it was seeing people coming out of the door with bags of food. So I decided to try it. I ordered a burger and fries for dinner and a shrimp salad for lunch the next day. The burger and fries were still hot when I got home so I tore into them. Hamburger patty was thick and juicy and the bun held everything together nicely. The salad was crisp and fresh with seasoned shrimp. I got addicted and had them everyday for like 4 days in a row once. I even get upset on the weekends and Mondays anticipating for this place to be open again! It's tucked off in the heart of the intersection of Vernon and Arlington and parking isn't hard to find right outside, but her food is SO good there's usually a line of cars waiting fir their food. Each meal is known to take 20-25 mins return time to make after you order- it's guaranteed ALWAYS fresh! Another reason I love this place! I usually go to the Slauson mall while I wait or sit patiently waiting for the greatness like others do! The specialty lemonade flavors ARE AMAZING! So I stopped by this neighborhood spot yesterday to try it out. I got Lulus chicken , a shrimp taco and a chicken taco. Service was fairly welcoming , cool menu , and overall a pleasant experience. Took a while but it's cooked fresh , so, if you're impatient just call ahead. The chicken had an interesting texture. Super crunchy almost reminded me of tempura . Fries was good, just wish they were crispier and the two tacos were pretty good. I topped it off with some green Apple koolaid which hit the spot ! Not too sugary not too watery , it was just right . I am truly proud to see people of color opening businesses in the areas we made famous from our culture . I'm trying to cut back on fried foods but will def be back to try more of their menu. Ok, no problem order on Grubhub at 5:10 order confirmation came about 5:20 advising me that my order would be ready at 5:50 - 6:00. Of course I got there at 5:55 and didn't get my food until 6:10. When I walked in the door, I was told I was just waiting on the fries. Remember I got there at 5:55. It does not take 15 minutes for french fries to cook nowhere. Then when I looked in the window to see what was going on, I got a passive aggressive attitude. I will say the tacos I ordered were good.
