So good! Went here after a weekend of camping for Sunday breakfast and got the walleye Benedict. It was so yummy! You walk in and head to the basement where they serve breakfast and brunch. It's a cute log inspired place with a lot of mounts and hometown pictures. Our server was the best and matched our energy after a fun weekend fest. Drinks are cheap-$4 for bloody Mary's and the food all around was really good. You get to choose hashbrowns, house fries or tater tots for a side. Only a ridiculous person wouldn't love those options. I will definitely go back when I cross that Wisconsin border. read more

What a treat it was to find this place for breakfast on a Sunday. The bread looked and tasted homemade. They had 3 choices for Eggs Benedict. (Cajun, walleye, and traditional.). Members in our party ordered the walleye and traditional eggs Benedict and were very satisfied. I had the walleye and scrambled eggs with tavern fries. Great bloodies! I love the Wisconsin touch, with a little meat and cheese on top of the standard olive and pickle. Also loved the blackened walleye and eggs with tavern spuds, and Jessie, our waitress, was super friendly and efficient. My family was more in the mood for lunch fare at noon on a Sunday, so they were a little disappointed that it was breakfast only until 1 pm. I stopped in for Sunday lunch, but lunch doesn't start on Sunday until 1:00 pm. Lots of breakfast choices, though, including the Sunday Bloody Mary, which is a specialty, rightfully so. I ordered the Steak hash which was disappointing because the steak was very chewy. The diced potato option was excellent. Dining is on two levels. When I was there only the lower level was open, which was fine. Multiple TV screens showing football. Music was 60's and 70's pop hits. Good vibe. Went here for brunch one weekend, was excited from hearing good things about it. The atmosphere is pretty comfortable, felt like a lot of regulars. There were a few other groups of people, and some at the barm I wouldn't say it was busy by any means though. I decided to get the walleye eggs Benedict, which was pretty good. My husband got a short stack of pancakes, which he was not impressed with. I LOVE this place. I do not live in Hudson but when I'm here it's always a great place to swing by for a drink or some cheese curds. I actually just got brunch this morning and sat at the bar. We have tried Seasons Tavern three times since the new owners took over. Twice when they took over about a year ago and the service was so bad we didn't go back until last night and only then because a relative wanted to go to a fish fry. The open parking spots by the front door on a Friday night should have set off a warning alarm in my head but my empty stomach must have hit the brain override switch. The service has improved some but it's still slow by normal standards. The fish fry was Ok but everyone who ordered off the regular menu was disappointed. I had beef fajitas, they were the worst I remember having. No beans, no rice and just a few thin slices of beef mixed in with onions & peppers and it took a long time to get an extra plate to make the fajitas. My daughter had spaghetti & meatballs that she said was so bad she couldn't eat it. I tried it and agreed. My son's burger brought back memories of Wendy's "Where's the Beef" commercials. There was this sad little burger patty lost in a sea of bun. Everyone is being more cartful with money these days and that's why it's especially disappointing to have such a poor dining experience. I know we could have gone to any one of the many great restaurants in Hudson and had a much better experience for the same money. read more

Alyssa, Pheona & I met up with the cutest Yelp couple out there, Jenny & Sam, for an All-You-Can-Eat Friday Night Fish Fry experience. Being that we have over 40 Fish Fry's bookmarked, choosing a place was narrowed down by our dining companions. They looked over our list & gave us their verdict. Season's Tavern in Hudson! A place that Alyssa & I haven't visited per say. However, this building has housed many restaurants over the years.. We had been to the prior establishment for an AYCE Friday Night Fish Fry. Northwoods Log Cabin, I believe? We had plans to meet up at 6. Tough traffic to get there, but we found ourselves walking in right after our meet up time. The parking lot can be tricky if full with cars. I think we parked in a non spot, but it was kinda hard to tell. The Hybrid was still there when we left, so maybe it was a spot? We asked the hostess if our friends had arrived before us. When she came back without finding them, she informed us that there is a bar downstairs, so they might be waiting there. Before we even go to check, in walks Jenny & Sam! Now with all of us here, we put in our name for a table & proceed to make our way downstairs to wait the 10-15 minutes. You might be wondering why the place is called Season's Tavern, until you get downstairs. The upstairs doesn't have a Tavern feel to it. But once you walk into the bar, you get your AH-HA moment. The cabin feel really comes through down here. Exposed wood everything. There are tables down here for dining & drinking on a first come first served basis. Most were taken. In fact, we nuzzled ourselves into a two spot area at the bar to order us up some drinks. Tap beers for everybody. 6 on tap? I got a Nor East from Grain Belt. I noticed they offered free popcorn & dished us up some. We were able to get in our greetings with our two new friends. The wait was just as expected, in the 10-15 minute time frame. We walked back upstairs to find our table to be the first one in the restaurant. It worked out alright. A little cramped for 4 1/2 people (I call Pheona a 1/2). But we never had anyone sit at the table behind us, which made it more manageable. We were greeted by our server, we'll call her Lady Gaga, pretty quickly. She didn't need to ask about drinks, as for we already had some. She let us know about the dinner special of the night (AYCE Fish Fry) & gave us some time. I never did look into the menu, with the conversation flowing so easily. When Lady Gaga came to check on us & see if we were ready to put an order in, all of us knew. 4 AYCE Friday Night Fish Fry's. You get a choice of Deep Fried, Baked Cod, or combo of both. A choice of potato, which included Fries, Baked, Baby Reds, Mashed, or Tavern Spuds. It also comes standard with Coleslaw & dinner roll. I did Deep Fried with Tavern Spuds. Alyssa did a combo with the Spuds. The Tavern Spuds were explained to us by Lady Gaga as diced potatoes with cheese, onion, & bacon. Maybe she said sour cream was mixed in there, too? Anyways, Yes Please! The wait for our suppers seemed normal. Again, conversation was easy, with Pheona, for the most part, trying hard to keep it on her. Which she did a satisfactory job of doing. My supper looked pretty good. 3 nice sized pieces of Cod. The Tavern Spuds are pan fried, as you could see the ring of melted cheese on the edge of 'em. A plastic ramekin of Coleslaw half full & a plastic ramekin of tartar was included. As well as a dinner roll with a pat of butter. The roll was plain Jane store bought. Nothing special. The Coleslaw also was nothing special. Dull in flavor. The Tavern Spuds were a huge hit. Housemade & very flavorful. A must get. The Cod was a little too bready for me, but still was good. The batter was thick, but the Cod underneath was white & flaky. I was 2 pieces into my supper when Alyssa asked if I had got lemon. I hadn't. I made sure we got some with our reorder. Which was asked about promptly by Lady Gaga. Alyssa put a reorder in of both kinds for the whole table. Average wait time for the reorder. Two plates. One with 6 pieces of Deep Fried, the other with Baked Cod. Everyone dove for the Deep Fried. The Baked wasn't that good. Seemed premade and waiting on someone to order it. Kinda bland. When I squirted some lemon on the Deep Fried I got as a reorder, true bliss! The Tartar Sauce is ample, with lots of sweet pickle chunks. It seems housemade. I never asked if everything is AYCE or just the Fish, but my assumption would be just the Fish is. We received a second round of reorders without asking for it, which went over well at our table. Lady Gaga let us do a doggy bag. Our bill, after tax, was just over 31 bucks. $13 for the AYCE Friday Night Fish Fry. This is just a bit on the high end. Personally I think $11.99 would be the perfect price point. The best part of the night was meeting & conversing with Jenny & Sam. Great people. As we've already said to each other, we look forward to next time! read more

We have been eating at Seasons Tavern for three years. The food has been consistently excellent. The staff have been friendly and helpful. We have had several items on their menu. We love the Sunday morning Bloody Mary, Walleye Cakes, Walleye Jambalaya, Ravioli, Eggs Benedict with Walleye Cakes, and the pancake of the month. I love Hudson, so I am always down to sneak over there any chance that I get. Decided to try out the food at Seasons Tavern based mainly on their high rating on yelp. The bar downstairs looked like it could be fun though I cannot confirm this as we were starving and wanted to eat right away. We were promptly seated in a very near empty dining room. Most of the patrons of the almost full parking lot must have been in the bar, Our waitress was on point, very prompt, pleasant and efficient. She is the reason that I was able to give a rating of two stars I would really like to give a 2.5 stars but cannot give a three. If I could rate strictly on service I would give this 4 stars but sadly I rate based on the overall experience and when you are going out to eat the quality of the food is what I base it on. The atmosphere was cozy, clean and nicely decorated. He ordered the walleye dinner ($19) ordered it grilled with salad and red potato. I tasted the walleye it was ok, cooked well, but I felt for $19 the portion size was very small. it also came with a side of green beans The salad looked pretty nice. He ate it and said "It was ok." I think that is guy talk for "It didn't completely suck but I am still hungry". I ordered the pulled pork tacos ($14). I need to put a disclaimer on here to let you know that I lived in Tuscon, AZ these past five years so my standard is very high when it comes to anything remotely mexican and therefore, I may be a bit of a snob in this area. While waiting for the deliciousness that was to come my mouth was yearning to be stimulated. . When I think of pulled pork visions of a blackened fat cap bursting with a smokey flavor with juices flowing through meat that is laden with flavor. This is where my vision ended and sadly, this was not my experience. To be honest they were simply awful. The meat I would guess was thrown in a crock pot with a little bit of water and absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. Nothing not even salt and pepper. It was meat set in water. Plain, uninviting a disservice really to what should be a wonderful tribute to the pig that gave its life for my dinner. Ok, I am being dramatic. I ate one taco only because I was starving. Gave one to the boyfriend since I was sure he was still starving from his small portion dinner and took one home for the perra (dog). . The flour tortillas were ice cold not even tossed in a microwave to warm them slightly. The cheese did not melt at all on them so everything was pretty cold on my plate. The salsa was from a jar, the beans from a can, the rice from a box also came with a side of sour cream from a hmmm cow?. Everything was bland, blah, plain, unflavored and did nothing to stimulate my taste buds. What was wonderful, was of course the spotted cow! As a plus since I was still starving I was a little tipsy from the beer. We may venture out for their fish fry someday and if we do I will update but there really wasn't anything happening there that made me yearn to go back for more. read more

My boyfriend and I went here after a long day of shopping in Stillwater. Seasons Tavern was exactly what we were looking for. We sat downstairs in the bar area which has a very cozy cabin feel. The bartender was very friendly, which provided a small town "everyone knows everyone" vibe. We enjoyed a couple of beers - we did not eat, but food looked amazing. If I could rate this place with a 0 stars I would. The food my friend and I ordered was terrible. Prices are high for the garbage they serve. The steak was ordered Med...it wasn't even close to rare. The cheese curds were the only thing good. Service was terrible, had to get the server twice to just refill drinks. Finally, leaving the place we saw the kitchen staff outside the main service door smoking with their full cooking attire on then walk back down the stairs to the kitchen. I ate here the Dec 17th, 2012 I want to say. It was right after 17inches of snow we were looking for a good breakfast spot. Well it was amazing, I couldn't off asked for a better place for food. For 8.50 or so I got an awesome breakfast. Head downstairs for a bloody or a Screwdriver and breakfast and I promise you will not be disappointed. Even after 17 inches of snow they had 3 servers working and it was the only place in North Hudson (NoHud) that was packed. Nice rathskeller atmosphere downstairs for lunch. Great music and friendly service too. Walleye Basket had perfectly fried pieces of fish with very light crisp batter. The seasoned fries were hot and crispy and the coleslaw was tasty. The rest of the family had the Cuban sandwich which was highly rated by my daughter. My bride had the chicken salad sandwich on cranberry bread and thought it was great. The only let down was the hamburger that was ordered....over cooked and too dry. I am sure it would have been good if not overdone. We will next time order the burger medium instead of leaving it up to the cook. read more

Two stars here because we tried to get in for a sunday lunch, and they only had the basement open. We stood waiting behind another couple for 10 minutes. There was no host, much less any acknowledgement that we existed. I even looked a server in the eyes and said hello when she walked past....nothing. We overheard one server tell a bar customer that things were really busy and that it might be awhile before they would get their food. Perhaps they lost a cook, perhaps the manager forgot to have enough staff. Regardless, we had to leave before we starved to death. Since we subsequently found a place that was delicious nearby, and not crowded...I am not sure i will return. read more

There was this nasty lady at a table near us that was just being mean to Diane. I was very impressed with her professionalism in handling this rather rude woman.
