It's a cute little place. We got the popular meat empanadas, the beef and the bacon, dates and cheese one. They were both really good and their coffee was decent too. It's definitely a spot you want to go if you aren't too hungry because they are quite small. I have recently made Downtown my new office location, when looking for a nice quick meal this place tops the rest. First, it's authentic Argentina cuisine, not a Mexican place in disguise. The food is amazing! Fresh and loaded with awesome quality ingredients. It's a cultural explosion of flavor when eating their empanadas. My first order I had 6; beef, Malbec Beef, Ham and Cheese, Chorizo. Malbec beef is amazing. The regular beef is awesome but just a little too spicy. The ham and cheese is great for breakfast with a cup of joe. The chorizo was too greesy and spicy; it has potential with a different type of Chorizo. One thing is a must, the green chimichuri sauce! OMG!! It's amazing!!! I had Uber Eats deliver, they took 15 minutes to get to my office. Will definitely be ordering from this place more often. read more

I had been wanting to try the empanadas for a while. I ordered the chorizo with patatas and very delicious, better than expected. I also ordered the breakfast egg, bacon and cheese empanada and it was VERY salty and that threw off the whole flavor. I wasn't expecting to pay over $6 for 2 empanadas, especially for the size that they are but maybe bc it's downtown? It's worth giving it a try but wouldn't make it my "morning ritual". read more

I get it delivered to my work for lunch and I have tried all their empanadas. Bacon, Dates and Goat cheese, Chorizo & Patatas Bravas and the Malbec Beef are my go-to combination. When I think of empanadas, I think South American. These empanadas are seemingly an Americanized (north-US) version. The dough is completely different. It's like a baked dumpling instead of a true traditional empanada pastry. Small for the price. The caramelized onion was ok. I didn't care for the spinach and cheese. Great attention to detail--I ordered take-out and the individual paper bags were labeled and they gave small spoons for the sauces. Bacon, date, and goat cheese: agree with other reviewers. Fast, delicious and cheap!! I love that they bake their empandas and do not fry them. They have a variety of choices from everyone's craving. I have had their bacon, egg and cheese breakfast which was delicious. But my two favorites were the malbec beef and the dates, bacon and goat cheese. Savory and sweet is my favorite combination. Empandas were pretty good and the service is very quick. I had the lunch special 1 with three empanadas. I chose the bacon, date, and goat cheese, spinach and cheese, and the sweet corn. Unlike the other Yelpers I was disappointed with the bacon, date, and goat cheese empanada. I really wanted more goat cheese and couldn't taste it at all. The others were very good. The sweet corn was definitely my favorite. I will say that it definitely was not a filling lunch but more of a tie over. It's a nice tunnel stop if you need to grab a light bite. read more

It's fine. I got the Malbec beef and was underwhelmed. It was strictly ok. They didn't have the bacon, date, & cheese when I got there but I did try the chorizo, egg, & beans as well as the blue cheese and mushroom. Tried their breakfast bacon and egg with cheese, and it was an overload of sodium! The menu also showed that these are freshly baked, but the bread tasted a bit stale. I don't mind eating warmed up food, as I know these probably have to be made in advance, but it shouldn't show otherwise. I had several dozen empanadas catered my boy's first birthday party, and guests are still asking about where I got the them! Such an unexpected and tasty option over deli sandwiches or pizzas. I also stop by weekly for lunch: the empanadas are so delicious (I especially love the sauces), very satisfying and filling (I order 3 for lunch, and am never hungry later), the wait is not long at all, and they are well priced! I work in downtown Houston and found this place while I was walking in the tunnels. I saw that their feature empanada was the Mac & Cheese. This was the first time that I had ever placed ad order from this place. The cost of this empanada was $2.75. When I received it, I was extremely disappointed with the size of the empanada. It took all of three bites to finish it. Although it tasted very good, the value of this purchase was horrible. I will not purchase from them again. read more

The cheese was amazing and how can you go wrong with good ole ham and cheese! Just decided to try out UberEats in the Houston Downtown area and luckily 5411 Empanadas was on the list of restaurants that are participating. The order ended up arriving earlier than expected. I only write reviews when something is fantastic and these empanadas were just that. I was driving when I had my first bite of the mushroom and thyme empanadas and nearly had to pull over just to fully savor the comprehensive deliciousness. The date and bacon got its own 'I cannot believe it is this tasty' eye roll. The Malbec beef held its own in this prestigious company. I LOVE 5411 Empanadas. It is quick and delicious. My favorites are the bacon, date and goat cheese and the spinach and cheese. I've also tried the malbec beef and potato and chorizo which are also fantastic. I love that they are baked, but are still hearty like the fried ones. I have even taken some home for my husband and they are great reheated. My only suggestion would be for the combos to include chips, a drink or a dessert. Right now, you get to choose between a drink or chips and I always find myself wanting the dessert instead of chips or a drink. It would also be nice if they included a small side salad in their offerings to pair with the empanadas. All in all, I'm a huge fan of this place! read more
