We stumbled into Birria Los Primos as we were walking around in the area and came across the Underground Food Hall. Surprisingly, there are some really good options down there. Mexican food always sounds good to me so we chose this spot. We got 4 of the Quesitacos. They double up the corn tortillas and the outside one has a nice lil crunch to it. Then they add the Monterey Jack cheese, hit it with a massive serving of Birria and then top it with white onion and cilantro. These were really good but needed just a touch more salt or it would have been perfect. The consume was good but could have been slightly richer in flavor. The red sauce was perfect. Great flavor and heat. This is really a 4.5 star but Yelp still only allows full star reviews so Birria Los Primos gets a solid 4 stars. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely worth a visit when you're in town.

These tacos were made with love and be careful that chile is spicyyyy but delish. The consome was perfectly made with a sason! The hubs got the fries combo (sorry forgot the name) and I did not think I would like it and it also had a unique blend that will satisfy your taste buds.

I decided to try Birria Los primos, Birria always calls me, I ordered two Birria tacos, and a Birria soup. The staff is very nice and friendly. The place is pretty cool, reminded me of The Post food hall. I got a time buzzer and the food came out pretty quick. The tacos come with double corn tortilla, with a generous portion of tender meat, onion and cilantro, fresh cucumber and radish slices, pretty good tacos! The consomé was flavorful and meaty just like I like it, and I was really happy with the size also. I would definitely recommend getting the 12oz I ordered with the tacos. Good experience at Birria Los primos!

The asada was some nice steak strips like full of flavor and that cheese... OMG! Was SO good!! So I went back to get more! This time they had the long line lol. This time I ordered another gringa with the Adobada (pork) togo, a Mexican Coke and a cup of elote. I ate the elote while I was there and it was perfection! You would think all elote would be good but some places truly put in the extra effort to make theirs taste better. This one was just right for me! The staff were so friendly, patient and helpful. I really enjoyed talking with them and would definitely be back when I'm on Main wanting tacos!

The young gentleman worked the cashier and cooked was super friendly and helpful with the menu. Thr queso birria tacos are thr way to go. It was very taste and the prices were not bad. I also got the mango aqua Fresca. Also very refreshing. I asked if the cashier if the churros were worth getting. He said he likes them and I'm glad I got them because it was hot and delicious. Overall, friendly service, great food, good prices.
While waiting on a resy for lunch nearby, we ordered the 3 birria taco plate. It was 3 of us, so we just split the tacos 1 each. They're adequately priced, came up hot and fresh. I will say that for a quick as the tacos came up they were DELICIOUS! Flavorful and the consume wasn't greasy it was very good. This is a place I'd come back to try other items. Service was ok.

He went above and beyond which was great! Also, look at this amazing food!!! The ambiance was chill because it was in the Underground which is a cool place to escape the Houston heat and get some good food.
Entrance is camouflaged among windows and doors to street level places. Find the door with 1010 above and that will take you to the bustling basement where 4 eateries share a common albeit cramped dining area, including Primo's. I got the birria trio tacos ($12) and they give you a small "pager" to carry. The entree was ready in less than 10 min (Sun evening) and came with a little cup of tasty au jus to dip each taco in. While meat portions were "decent" the tacos are barely 3 inches so, overall, it left me yearning for more. There's a dessert cart upstairs, right inside the front door before heading downstairs. Alas, I was successfully able to resist the carb rush that late (8pm). The two youths were not engaging at all but manned this establishment by themselves. Tables and floors are all sticky. Cooling is by giant horizontal floor fan. Tip: walk up Main (not Fannin where you'll pass dozens of displaced individuals, too many of them sadly high/tripping/yelling).

The street parking is free starting at 6 on Saturday's. However, they offer happy hour certain weekdays until six - pick your preference! The hall started to get busier as we left hy 7. We both ordered the quesibirria trio tacos and they were sooooo good. The meat is so tender and it has the perfect level of spice!! I loved it. We ordered extra to go because we liked them so much!
Oh Boy, the birria tacos were the REAL DEAL and by far the best tacos I've eaten in Houston. They were served with a delicious salsa and a wonderful consome that I dipped the tacos in. Located in the underground hall, this is a small establishment, but the service was great. The tacos are every bit as good as the ones I've gotten in Mexico City from street vendors. Please try these tacos; you won't be disappointed.

Great late weeknight food option in downtown! Got out of a musical and Underground Hall was one of the only options open. I got the birria and asada tacos ($4 each). The meat portion was good for the price and I was satisfied after. The red salsa is no joke spicy (if you have a low spice tolerance like me). The birria was better than the asada personally. I liked the World Cup theme decor. read more

This place was dynamite! We accidentally stumbled upon them while looking for a different venue in the same area. What a happy accident! The tacos were absolutely delicious and fresh. It was my first time getting birria tacos and I do believe I'm hooked! Their churros were amazing as well. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Amazingly they stayed hot throughout our entire meal. I will definitely be back to explore the menu. read more

I liked that I could order online for pickup right around the corner from the hotel I stayed at . They're very strict on producing an email confirming you ordered food, and it says so on the website so that's fine . The guy at the checkout had an attitude , took him a while to even acknowledge me. I enjoyed the birria ramen, however I didn't know I was paying $12 just for meat because that's all it was , @ $2 tapatio ramen and birria meet but it was really good, pico and guacamole was amazing too. What I didn't like was the birria bowl. Comes with refried beans , birria meet , rice , limes , salsa etc . The bowl was horrible . Dry rice, hard beans and the meat was okay , that was a waste of money for sure . I'd order the tacos and other things next time because I could tell this place has great potential. read more

My brother and I went looking for great Mexican food, so walked from the Toyota Center (interesting walk...the downtown scooter craze seems to have hit Houston hard...definitely had to watch out more for scooters than cars, since the sidewalk seems to be an acceptable byway). Los Primos is located inside of an underground food hall, and the Astros game was playing. If I cared about either team, I would have enjoyed watching the game in that atmosphere. We ordered our food from Los Primos, and waited a few minutes for it. We ordered the Quesitaco Trio (not the taco trio which is what it looked like) with consume, Birria torta, and corn in a cup (elotes). All were ok to good. The best thing was the stewed meat. While I'm writing this review, I was trying to figure out what sort of meat it was. I know traditionally, it should be goat, but beef is used instead quite a bit...and the meat tasted liked beef. I can't seem to find in the other yelp reviews, what sort of meat it is...but in any case, it was delicious, and was great to dunk in the consume. The taco itself was OK, and a bit expensive. The torta was good, mainly because of the birria, and the amount was probably a little more than two tacos, so probably better just to order more tacos. The bolla bread was what you get 3 for a dollar at a mexican grocery: nothing special. The elote was very creamy and flavorful, but also very rich...since we were going to walk a lot, had to stop eating it, just in case. My one suggestion is to perhaps make the quesataco tortilla more crunchy/crispy by deep frying it in the consume fat more longer. The shell was more consistent with as if we had just ordered the birria tacos (which I know we didn't since ours had melted jack cheese). We've had great quesitacos in LA, and while the meat here could compete, the assembly and presentation (and price) could not. All the dining area is shared between the restaurants, since it's a food hall. As a side note, a nice hostess from a different restaurant came around to offer two free draft Crawford Bock from Karbach (maybe for OktoberFest) while we were eating our tacos. It's a good beer, something to try again later. read more
Located downtown in the underground food hall, I stumbled across the spot around 11PM on A Friday night. There wasn't really a line so I placed my order pretty quickly and the food actually came out very fast (like maybe 5 min or less). It came out hot and fresh too so that made me happy. Overall I thought It just tasted okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't the best queso birria that I've tried. It was loaded with meat and cheese which was good but the meat could've been seasoned a little more to me and there was like an after taste for me after I dipped it in the birria. So overall, I would give the birria a 3.5 on taste but my overall experience was a solid 4. read more

Birria has taken us by a storm and I am here for it. Savory and well-seasoned birria with the crispy, cheesy tortilla soaked in the consome before grilling. This spot is located inside Underground Hall and there is plenty of street parking nearby. Ordering was simple. The staff were friendly. I went earlier in the day so there was plenty of seating, but it might get crowded later on. I was also pleased to learn that all of their meat is halal. There is definitely a shortage of good halal spots for birria tacos. I ordered the Quesi Taco Trio with beef. It was presented nicely. I appreciated that the taco itself was sturdy and didn't fall apart easily in my hands. I also thought the seasoning was perfect. The consome complemented the tacos nicely. Some places add too much salt, but not here. I definitely want to come back to try the other items on the menu, especially the birria nachos! read more

My husband was so excited to eat the tapatío ramen...let me say he is not one to like soups (including ramen). BUT HE LOVED THE TAPATÍO BIRRIA RAMEN!!! He ate it up and left nothing in the container! I ordered the mix of tacos and quesabirria and OH MY GOOOOODDDDD it was so good. I had a long day at work and this just hit the spot! The food didn't take too long but it wasn't fast either, I felt comfortable with the amount of time our food took to get to us. As for the vibe of the underground hall, it's very much like a bar scene...the music is really loud and it can get rowdy in there. read more
Let's tacooo 'bout it! I finally got to check out Birria Los Primos and it did not disappoint! I went with friends and we ordered the Los Primos Deluxe platter which comes with 5 tacos so we could all get a bite in! We upgraded to get the goat meat for the full flavor effect, I highly recommend this!! These birria beauties look as good as they tasted - the consume on the side made the perfect dipping sauce and was also packed with flavor! Only thing I would have hoped for is more of the dipping consume! read more

We were in town for work with coworkers. Decided to try this place as it was recommended by local friends. It also helped that this place averaged 4 1/2 stars. Most of us had the Birria three taco plate. The sauce was pretty tasty and added tons more flavor to the tacos. The salsa was fantastic as well. If you come during peak hours, you will have to wait for seating. We can in around 12pm on a Wednesday. We will definitely be back for the tacos and to more of the food. read more
I was craving birria tacos and tried a new place because my chef was booked tonight. I ordered and drove 30 mins downtown. I got there and it's no parking and unhoused ppl on every corner. I called to see if someone could meet me. The man said no, they don't do that, it's busy down there, bye. He did call back and tell me to pull up with my flashers and grab it but once I got back around, someone was pulling out! I went in and they weren't busy but I can understand how "door delivery' isn't an accommodation they make. One guy was cleaning, the other was talking to him. I ordered the grande quesabirria. The birria was flavorful and with a reasonable amount of cheese. Consome (dip) was not over spiced and tasty. Service was very fast and friendly. This place is located in the Underground Hall and it has a nice low-key almost sports bar feel with games and TVs to watch events. Good for family and adults. Strong recommend. read more

My friend and I decided to come here after the Astros game, this spot is located in the underground hall. It can get quite confusing to find but once you find it you're good. When you get there you'll walk down stairs and you'll see it's set up kind of like a mall food court, so you have other types of food to pick from. I decided to order their birria trios tacos which comes with 3 tacos & a side of consommé. Once you're done ordering at the counter they give you a buzzer & I have to say that the food came out very fast. The tacos itself was just okay, nothing to rave about. It wasn't crispy as I thought it'll be. While they did fill it up with a decent amount of meat, it was tough, chewy & the seasoning was lackluster. The saving grace was their consommé, it was hot & seasoned very well. Overall, it was an okay experience. Maybe it was an off day or they were just busy. The service was fine but it was quick so no complaints. Will I come back? Yes. Next time I'll try something else on their menu. read more

I am so impressed with this place: quick service, great food, big portion, and very reasonable price. I ordered the Los Primos Platter, with tax it costs about $14.99. It comes a VERY generous amount of juicy and flavorful Birria meat (the meat melts in your mouth), refried beans, rice, topped with fresh onions, cilantro, a side of pico de Gallo, a side of guacamole, a container of red salsa, and three fresh tortillas. I cannot ask for more. read more
